Proxy Server Settings

Trying to filter traffic from my Galaxy through my laptop in order to monitor some traffic.  When I modify my network config and save, it adds a new Network with a duplicate name and has a status of Not in Range.  I thought this set up was pretty straight forward but I appear to be missing something.  ANy ideas?

Hey, Tim,
I ran the lab WITHOUT being connected to anything. I did sometimes have to tell
Internet Explorer to "Try Again", but the test environment always came up on the
second try. I think it might be looking for the XML namespace "http://www.openuri.org/".
But, when it can't find it (like when my laptop is not connected to anything), it
still worked for me. Try disconnecting from your LAN, if you can't get it to work
any other way.
Good luck,

I am trying to run step #2 on pg 13 of Lab05-DBC.
When I run the service the build starts but I get an error that the namespace
could
not be found.
This is followed by another error that URL to java.sun.com port:80 could
not be reached.
Since, I have to work through a proxy-server to reach the web, do you know
if I need
to
specify the server setting in workshop or wehlogic.xml to do this ?

  • Proxy Server Settings Inside WRT300N v1.1

I have setup a linksys WRT300N behind another router so i can use it as a wireless connection. The first router is using an ip scheme of 10.200.251.0 /24 and the linksys is using 192.168.1.0 /24 I have them connected and working fine except we connect to the internet via a proxy. Is there a way to authenticate the proxy with a specific username and password inside the router so the router logs in all the wireless connections instead of putting the proxy address in the browser. I have tried putting it in the browser which wont work and i think its because the proxy is on the 10.200.251.0 /24 network which the 192.168.1.0 /24 network cant connect to for some reason.
If anyone could provide any help on how i can achieve this it would be greatly appreciated .

No its not possible to use the Proxy Sever using the Linksys Router and on the Router setup page you don't have any option to input any Proxy Server settings.

Norton is probably the issue. It can really screw things up, that is one reason I never use it. See if you can temporarily disable it and then try the sync and see if that works.
On a Mac, there is a way to run a program that repairs permissions for the user, not a Windows thing.

  • How to disable system proxy server settings

If I want to use URL.openStream() to get an InputStream to a remote file, but don't want the JVM to use the system proxy settings to do the connection, what shall I do?
I saw a piece of code as follows
    System.setProperty("http.proxyHost","i.do.not.exist.fiction");
    System.setProperty("http.proxyPort","80");
but this doesn't work in Java 1.4.0_01
Instead of trying connecting to a valid remote host without using a proxy (presumably because the supplied proxy cannot be found), the JVM actually throws a FileNotFoundException although the remote file is there (and can be accessed by, say, Internet Explorer).

Ok. Your changing the http proxy to something that is valid, although the server does not exists. Try setting the "http.proxyHost" property to null.
You can find more information in:

Thete is a proxy fot wifi at my college. I cannot find any option to put in those settings in my browser

  • All proxy server settings in mac lab deleted possibly after a firefox update? How can I recover settings without manually doing on all machines?

Most (if not all) of my lab machines have lost their proxy settings...weird...has never happened before. Because the settings were in firefox, I assume it is because of a recent firefox update. First...is there any way to revert back to the previous settings so I don't have to manually reconfigure all users on all machines. Second...please make sure that this doesn't happen again when updates are implemented. Third...does anybody know anything about pushing out a proxy setting through ARD?

I'm sure that this is simple but just can't work it out!

  • Facing severe problem in IE10 of automatically getting clicked on "use a proxy server" every 5 minutes in LAN Settings whereas it is not required to use any proxy server at all when directly connected through ISP broadband.

Using Window 8 Pro with IE 10 but facing tremendous problem in LAN settings. Every 5 minutes, it automatically gets clicked on "Use a Proxy Server for the LAN" and am unable to open any page unless the said setting is unclicked. The same applies

    Hi,
It seemed that some malware changed your registry which make proxy server enabled.
Did you install any proxy agent software recently? If you did, please try uninstalling it now. And then make a full scan
    with malware removal tool.
    http://www.microsoft.com/security/pc-security/malware-removal.aspx
    Or locate to registry,
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings, set "ProxyEnable" = dword:00000000.

  • Use proxy server

I have installed Fiddler software but it seems it changes proxy server settings beside tracking all browser activity due to statistics.
When I uninstalled Fiddler I noticed error in Mozilla as all browsing was refused:
The proxy server is refusing connections
Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections.
Check the proxy settings to make sure that they are correct.
Contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working.
I have seen that login as another user will work but the same settings will not work under user where is installed Fiddler.
There is AUTO detecting proxy and use a proxy server.
How to manage that it will be set use a proxy server but solve browsing when I uninstall Fiddler?
Is there some Windows 8 configuration as Mozilla is hit by Fiddler.

    Hi,
I have checked previous posts. I understand it is default Use proxy system and I can use NO proxy. It is an issue that software hits Mozilla settings for the user as Use proxy system and browsing will not work anymore. Fiddler should warn users that even if you use uninstall it will not bring back settings.
This is time consuming as Mozilla is not responsible.
Is there system data inside Windows 8 to bring back working Use proxy system in Mozilla for user where is installed Fiddler? I like to use default due to security.

  • Proxy server

I have a Lenovo 3000 desktop. I am not sure whether my question has to do with my computer or with my browser, so I will post it on this forum and a Google Chrome forum.
I use Nero 7 Essentials and when copying a CD I am given the opportunity  to download track details from an internet database. It doesn't work and Nero has told me that I may need to enter my proxy server settings in its database connection settings. Where do I find these settings (assuming that I have a proxy server)? Are these on my computer or are they to be found somewhere in my browser settings.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

that means you do not go through a Proxy Server. You connect to the Internet directly.
