Ps vita and ps4 NAT 3

Hi,
I have bigpond cable ultimate with a netgear CG3100 connected with the 2014 airport extreme.
I original had my netgear in bridge mode with NAT disable and my airport extreme 2014 setup as DHCP and NAT but I couldn't remotely connect on my vita to ps4 outside on my network. Ive now setup my netgear CG3100 in normal mode with NAT/DCHP enabled and I can easily remote play my vita to ps4 outside the network. My PS4 is connected to CG3100. My airport extreme is currently in bridged mode.
My issue is that my vita is connected to my airport extreme and its always showing a NAT 3 and I cannot change this. My airport extreme is only being used for wifi connections.
I have added UDP ports for public and private 80, 465, 3478, 3479, 5223, 3658, 3000, 6999, 10070 and UDP ports 53, 80, 443, 465, 983, 3479, 3480, 5223, 3479, 3658, 10070-10080 and added a DHCP reservation for my psvita MAC address on my airport extreme. I originally would prefer using my airport for my wired connections but due to not being able to change nat 3 to nat 2 on my ps4, everything wired connection is plugged into the CG3100.
The main reason I purchased the airport extreme was to use as a router due to poor wifi with netgear CG3100.
Can anyone please help me out to get my connections shorted to show NAT 2 on both ps4 and ps vita.

Thankyou Bob.
I just check my settings and my airport was in DCHP mode. I have now changed it to bridge mode.
I have fowarded the ports on my netgear CG3100. Currently the Netgear now has UPNP and NAT on.  Is there air security risks using the airport extreme in bridged mode for the wireless connection.
I have now added my vita on my netgear on the DHCP reservation list and foward ports to the selected IP address

  • Open VI reference for VITs and VIs

    Hi
I have a VIT and I get the reference using the Open VI reference. When I change (rename) this back to a VI, and get the reference for it, its much faster. Does the open VI reference takes longer for VITs than VIs in obtaining a reference?
Another question  is the same VIT, takes lesser time to get the reference using the Open VI reference in LabVIEW 8.5.1. It takes longer in LV8.6. Why is this happening?
    Thanks
    Vaa San.

The two main differences between a VI and a VIT are that   VITs are never run, but are templates that generate a VI instance immediately that has all the properties, attributes and limitations of a VI.  A VI on the other hand has only one instance (unless you make it reentrant)
    ·         A VI generated by a VIT is debuggable just like a VI in that you can trace the execution along the wires. In general, a VIT creates a copy of the VI in memory when you open a reference to it. Creating that copy takes time, which affects performance when doing recursion. That copy is then a standard VI in every sense, except it is not a file. Also, if you don't close these references, they will take up space in your RAM. Reentrant VIs can currently only do real recursion in 8.5 and if they are part of a class. If you open a VIT, you don't open the actual file, but a clone. This way you can open it multiple times. Each time you open it, you get a clone. This is especially useful when you open the VIT with VI Server. VIT's are useful to make an interface window once, and use it multiple times in your program. If the code should run multiple times, but doesn't have a user interface, use reentrant VI’s instead. As far as having the project open, a VI will reload all instances related to the project therefore causing the Vi to load slower. Best Regards,

  • No DNS and Double NAT

Hello, I've recently encountered a very frustrating bug in my system that I could use some help troubleshooting.  I've read several similar posts, some are resolved while others are not, however none of the resolutions have worked for my situation.  Here it goes:
I have an old macbook pro, a new macbook air, a white macbook and 2 iPhone 4s's all connected to the internet via WiFi through an AirPort Extreme.  The AE is connected to a cable modem which has internet service through Cablevision in NY.  There is also an AT&T Microcell hooked up to the AE to boost my cell signal.   All of this equipment has been working flawlessly together for a long time.  Until recently.  It could have started after an update, there have been several lately on all of the equipment including the firmware in the AE.  Anyway, I'll be connected without any issues - all lights green and happy - when suddenly, the internet will drop off and the AirPort Utility will pop up and warn me that:
    1) On the "internet" icon, it will say "disconnected"
    2) On the AE icon, it says "No DNS server and Double NAT"
After a few minutes and nothing done on my part, the lights turn green, the internet reconnects and all is well again.
This happens frequently and is really beaching a nuisance.  Due to the frequency of the disconnection, I can no longer download a large file, update, or anything.  Streaming video is impossible.
So far, I have tried bridge mode and cycled the power in the order recommended to no avail.  When I do that, the AE turns green, but the internet says "not connected".  I have also read that there might be too many IP addresses which is not sitting well with my ISP, so I disconnected everything including unplugging the Microcell.  Lastly, there are no other wireless phones or devises in the house.  All to no avail.
I should also mention that this began occurring on my Time Capsule, which I replaced with the AE in an attempt to fix this issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Joe

Sounds very similar to what I've been trouble shooting for 2 months now, only I have DSL from AT&T and I don't see the Double NAT warning.  My last post on the problem is here.
My only emergency solution for getting by day to day on the internet is to unplug the AE and connect one Mac directly to the DSL modem.  There's no shared connection or WiFi.  I looked at hosting WiFi from the Mac, but the only security available with that is WEP which isn't considered secure.  Even with this set up, I think (seat of the pants) that there are quality of service problems.
I've replaced the Airport Extreme with 2 different new units and the DSL modem with a new unit to no avail.  The Genius Bar and Apple phone support couldn't solve this, nor have 2 calls to AT&T support and one visit from an AT&T repairman.
I would like to know how to better test or quantify the poor quality of connection that seems to be the problem.

  • Using both Dynamic and Static NAT with two Different Internet facing Subnets

We have two Class C Public Address subnets.  We started with Subnet (A) and have many of our Internet accessible devices on it. It is running on a Cisco PIX 515R. We bought a new ASA 5510 8.3(2) and started Migrating the Users and new servers to it so I started with our second Class C Subnet (B).   Later on down the road I found out that if the Firewalls Default Gateway is is set to a (B) Interface subnet, then the servers that are statically mapped to a (A) Address will have a (B) address when they communicate out to the internet.  So they are receiving packets on their (A) Address, though replying to them with a (B) address.
It was mentioned that I should be able to combine static and dynamic NAT mapping to allow devices behind the firewall to have a fixed external Address when communicating outbound as well as inbound.
So For instance I want the Following: when the Internal Replies I want the reply to come from the mapped IP, not a IP from the Dynamic Pool.
    Public IP: 192.168.1.100/24
    Internal IP: 10.0.0.100/16

    Any Suggestions?
    Thanks!

Not sure why I have Multiple Entries. )-: I did think it was Odd. I think it might be because I looking at examples of the new and old styles of NAT.
We have a Single ISP, though have 2 separate non-Contiguous  Class C Addresses from them. We host some Servers on one subnet and some on the other.
I'm looking for a way to use both Subnets on the same ASA.
The Connection to the net looks like this:
Internet -> Edge Router Layer3 VLAN Switch
    GE0/1.2 - 192.168.1.1 VLAN Tagged --> GE0 - VLAN Tagged
    GE0/1.2 - 192.168.5.1 VLAN Tagged -^
    Layer3 VLAN Switch Firewall
    GE1 192.168.1.0/24 Untagged -> ASA Outside-1
    GE2 192.168.5.0/24 Untagged -> ASA Outside-5
    Firewall
    ASA inside 10.0.0.0/16 -> Switch -> 10.0.0.100
    Hope that helps clarify.
I could try to post some sanitized Configs of my PIX and ASA if needed.  But the end result I'm trying to do is have the ASA do NAT for multiple Public Subnets.

  • Dynamic PAT and Static NAT issue ASA 5515

    Hi All,
Recently we migrated our network to ASA 5515, since we had configured nat pool overload on our existing router the users are able to translated their ip's outside. Right now my issue was when I use the existing NAT configured to our router into firewall, it seems that the translation was not successful actually I used Dynamic NAT. When I use the Dynamic PAT(Hide) all users are able to translated to the said public IP's. I know that PAT is Port address translation but when I use static nat for specific server. The Static NAT was not able to translated. Can anyone explain if there's any conflict whit PAT to Static NAT? I appriciate their response. Thanks!
    - Bhal

    Hi,
I would have to guess that you Dynamic PAT was perhaps configured as a Section 1 rule and Static NAT configured as Section 2 rule which would mean that the Dynamic PAT rule would always override the Static NAT for the said host.
The very basic configured for Static NAT and Default PAT I would do in the following way
    object network STATIC
    host
    nat (inside,outside) static dns
    object-group network DEFAULT-PAT-SOURCE
    network-object
    nat (inside,outside) after-auto source dynamic DEFAULT-PAT-SOURCE interface
The Static NAT would be configured as Network Object NAT (Section 2) and the Default PAT would be configured with Twice NAT / Manual NAT (after-auto specifies it as Section 3 rule)
This might sound confusing. Though it would be easier to say what the problem is if we saw the actual NAT configuration. Though I gave the reason that I think is probably one of the most likely reasons if there is some conflict with the 2 NAT rules
You can also check out a NAT document I made regarding the new NAT configuration format and its operation.

    Hope this helps

  • Is src and dst NAT possible in multiple rules on the ASA?

    Hello,
We have +/- 50 customer companies that will have to enter our network via IPsec s2s VPN's and as backup the customers have the option to enter our network via a leased line. Since they can enter multiple routes we give them a source IP depending what side they enter so we know the route back internally in the network to the correct FW they entered.
For the s2s we have to do source NAT on our side since we cannot burden all these customers with different NAT's for both the leased line and for the s2s. And we have to do destination NAT since the customers can access different DMZ systems depending on the application they connect to.
    1) source NAT can be 1 NAT rule per company (so hide NAT behind 1 IP)
    2) destination NAT is multiple rules (see below)
At the moment we have 12 NAT rules per company since we have configured src and dst NAT in one rule to make it work.
    See example below:
Question: How can we configure src and dst NAT in multiple rules so that we dont need 12 NAT rules per company?

    Steve,
That is my whole point.  To copy from the PC host memory to the CUDA device memory asynchronously, the host memory must be pinned.  Hence, the source and destination memory should be pinned.  Otherwise, I must copy the source memory to pinned memory I have allocated on the PC, copy it asynchronously to the CUDA device memory, process it on the CUDA device, asynchronously copy it back to the PC pinned memory, and then copy it to the destination memory.
If you copy synchronously, it is slow as Christmas!  Therefore, you must copy the memory asynchronously, or you should not use CUDA and GPU acceleration.
My question still stands.  Why is the source and destination memory on the PC used by Premiere Pro not pinned memory?

  • BGP and ASA NAT

    Hello Everyone,
I have a need to multihome out two MAN links to the same ISP. The two links will connect via an ISR and will participate in an eBGP adjacency. On the internal side, iBGP will be used to create the alternate default route to the ISP. Each of the ISR’s downstream ports participates on the same Ethernet subnet. On the same subnet/broadcast domain, there are two ASA5510 appliances that will use HSRP to advertise the public IPv4 addresses and will NAT them into the private network.
My question is, since the ASAs do not participate in BGP, and since we are going to NAT the traffic eliminating the need to use a route map to inject the default route into the downstream EIGRP network, would I simply build a static default route in the ASAs out the upsteam interfaces?  My initial thought is to not worry about recursive lookups because they are connected via Ethernet.
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 fa0/0; and so on.
I’ve attached a simple topology for reference.
    Thanks…Matt

Yes Jcarvaja, HSRP is not a feature on the ASAs, and yes HSRP is difficult to setup natively to support active/active load balancing on any device. That's not really the point though is it. FHRP's are typically used for distribution switches and finely tuned to access layer 2 and layer 3 convergence, unless using GLBP (and even then should be considered). My mistake for using the term HSRP and thank you for pointing it out.
As for the iBGP links, they represent the same subnet as I mentioned. The cat switches are there to facilitate physical restraints as each pair of ISRs and ASAs are two miles apart. Since the ASA's are performing NAT, they don't really participate in the BGP network and there is no need or capability to inject the BGP default route into the EIGRP network. They will participate in the downstream EIGRP network. If the MAN connection on one ISR goes down, then the iBGP route to the Internet will be graduated. I guess I could have indicated on the drawing that these were all a part of the same subnet.
How do I configure the ASA's static default route? Wouldn't I be able to inject  a static default route in each ASA using the ASA's outside interface when using active/active? If I have to, I could see if we can use EIGRP on the network upstream of the ASAs if there is no other way of doing this, but this is not preferred.
Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you...Matt

  • Upgraded Online from CS to PS4 and PS4 Keeps CRASHING

Well I decided against better judgement to "upgrade" from CS as the RAW plugins did not support one of my cameras. (5D)
Well now after I downloaded the PS4 Upgrade install, everytime I go to work on an image, PS4 just up and closes. No messages at all.
Also as an upgrade, I now have both CS AND PS4 on my machine. Is that correct??
Tried phone help 2 seperate times but after 2 hours i gave up.
    Please help with any suggestions.

Appreciate the info. Good to know that CS  and CS4 together are OK. I do wish there were clear instructions to download. (Instead of having to "search" all over for help. All good.
PS4 still crashing and dumping my work but I found that as long as I keep my image edits down to 4 or 5, I shut down PS4 and then restart it again each time. Seems to work Ok that way. Image files are around 12 to 25 mb so maybe on the edge of it's capabilitys.
Although CS ran like a champ, PS4 seems to be a nice system if I can wok out all the bugs.
(I sure I hope I can in the next 30 days... Otherwise I will be returning PS4 and will figure out another way to pull down RAW files from a Canon 5D)
Great Forum and will use again.

  • Meaning of one-arm setup and src nat

I've worked previously on CSS platform and recall deploying one-arm mode, which simply meant connecting the appliance via single physical trunk link.
In terms of the ace some docos and ANM seem to suggest that one-arm requires src nat, if true why is that unless one-arm now translates to one-vlan?.
btw i know about asymetric routing and src nat, but what i'm failing to get is how that relates to one-arm.
    thanks

    Hello Ajaz,
generally the convention is to call one arm those setups where both client and servers, for a certain loadbalanced service (so VIP), belong to the same VLAN, see for example how it's defined here:
    http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Cisco_Application_Control_Engine_%28ACE%29_Configuration_Examples_--_Routing_and_Bridging_Configuration_Examples
not sure whether the definition has changed over time, I would guess that it can be intended in the physical sense (single link) so as you do, or in the logical sense, where 2 VLANs would represent 2 arms even if the physical connectivity is provided through just one link. From my experience, in the LB field the logical interpretation is prevalent.
    Thanks,
    Francesco

  • BT Infinity HH5 and PS4 (FIFA & NHL 15) issues

I cant play either of these brand new games as when the PS is wifi enabled the game 'stutters' very badly, impossible to play. Turn off the wifi on PS4 and game works fine, but then that stops me playing online (which is not why I bought these ). I have tried looking at the hub settings, but being a novice I don't want to mess anything up. I have also moved the PS4 around to other locations in the house with same results.
I hope I have given enough info for someone who is able to help. If anything else required, just let me know

Not sure if this will help, but any chance the 'remote play' feature in the PS4 is affecting things?
By all accounts if it is on, the PS4 creates its own wifi hotspot, that can affect other connections, as it is designed to connect the PS Vita. It has 3 options, so you could either cycle through these or turn it off completely and see how you get on.
Explanation of the settings and how to disable it are here: https://support.us.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5065
I would never have thought of that. I will have to check my own ps4 to make sure it is disabled. The OP should do the same.

  • HH5 and Xbox One - randomly open and moderate NAT

Having this annoying problem where the NAT keeps showing as randomly open and moderate. I have set a static I.p for it with no luck so far. I can switch it on and off a dozen times and it can show open, then be turned on the next dozen times and be moderate.
The odd thing is that I have a PS4 and Xbox 360 attached and they both show as always having an open NAT. All devices are connected wired. Tearing my hair out over this.  I can't recall the last time I had to mess around with static I.p's a d whatnot. Everything just worked with my old Virginia set up. I do a fair bit of online gaming and so having an open Nat is important to me as even moderate with xbox live can be a real nuisance.  Thanks for any help.

Well after googling non stop since around 4am this morning I have found what I think the problem is - and that makes the most sense.
I can't port forward because the HH5 has assigned some of the ports to my Xbox 360 (this was with me only using upnp and NOT having tried any port forwarding) and so now it won't let me manually assign those ports to my Xbox one - hence the error message that I'm getting.
The worst part is, that upnp SHOULD open those ports as needed when I switch my Xbox One on (I live alone and so both machines are never conencted at the same time) but it isn't, because for some reason it is keeping the shared ports solely for the Xbox 360.
So I was trying to manually assign those ports with port forwading to force it to open those same ports on my Xbox One...but so far I haven't got as far as doing any port forwading whatsoever.
I had a router with DD-WRT firmware on my old Virgin connection, and that allowed me to open whatever ports I wanted to whatever device I wanted, but it didn't matter because upnp worked properly on it. Unlike the HH5 which after all my reading has the same problems going back as far as the HH2. The internet is awash with people who couldn't get upnp or port forwading to work how it should.
So far the only people gettng a stable open NAT seem to be those with one Xbox or the other, but NOT both. Which is ridiculous and only seems to affect home hub users.

  • PS4 NAT TYPE CHANGE

    Hi All,
New to the forum so a massive hello from me
Was hoping you helpful bunch could help me out.
I am living with my Fiancees mum as we are saving for a house, we was on EE fiber optic and we had open Nat type when playing Call of Duty Advance Warefare.
We changed to BT yesterday and when we put on COD we realised that NAT type had changed from Open to Moderate. It made trying to find a game abit slower. SPeed was good though.
COuld someone help me in working out what i need to do to have this open?
I know the type of NAT the PS4 gives were both type 2 on EE and BT but this is specifically for Call of Duty. For some reason it is showing as moderate and i want to get this back to OPEN.
    Many thanks,
    Mark

I switched from Wi-Fi to wired on my Virgin Media Superhub and it changed from 2 to 3, I had to manually set up a NAT 2 connection. I had to set a static IP address then forward ports for PSN, you may also have to forward ports for any online games you play. All this is done through the Superhub or your router settings page, accessed via a PC and entering 192.168.0.1 (these numbers can vary with routers though. The last number could be different on your router) into a browser address bar.
This is a list of ports to forward for PSN: TCP Ports: 80, 443, 5223 UDP Ports: 3478, 3479, 3658, I believe that's all of them but I could be wrong.
Google your router make and model and search for changing NAT type, it should give you some idea of how to do it. Once you change and save settings on your router reboot it, I had to do that before my PS4 would recognise the NAT type change.I don't have any problem on wired connection. But when i connect ps4 to internet with wi-fi hotspot from my phon my nat change to type 3. I want to know this nat type (3) is ok for online game and connect to psn and store?!

  • Problem with WRT54G and DSL NAT router

I have a WRT54G connected to a Westell DSL NAT router. I would like to be able to allow incoming connections to my FreeBSD server.
The Westell router allows me to set IP Passthrough (they call it "Single Static IP"). This gives the WRT54G the outside IP address given to the DSL router. I can then set up the WRT54G for DDNS and port forwarding to forward specific ports I want to my server.
This works, for about 2-3 days. Then, I start to randomly lose outside connectivity. Web pages start coming up with missing elements, or taking a long time to load. This will eventually lead to total loss of outgoing communication.
Normally, I would blame this on the Westell NAT router, but as I'm losing connectivity to the internet, I'm also losing connectivity to the WRT54G. It will try to load configuration pages but will be slow with missing elements, etc.
All communications between computers on my inside network continue to function properly, it's just connectivity to the WRT54G and the internet that seem to start to fail.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on? I just upgraded the firmware on the WRT54G from 1.01.1 to 1.02.0, but I don't imagine this will help.
    Thanks,
    David Chamberlain

Try setting the MTU to manual and change the value to 1450

  • Airport Internet Sharing and Double Nat Issue on the road

The Airport express is a very handy little piece of hardware that is particularly easy to pack in a luggage and carry along for those of us that are spending lots of time out of the office and home.
So here is the scenario when I travel and check in into an overseas hotel: I got two iphones, one local network, one my home network, and a Mac Book Pro, and soon, [when it finally ships], an iPad.
That makes it at least 3 MAC addresses in one room, and if i have any visiting colleagues to pack up a presentation, I will have more.
Usually hotels in Asia are well equipped with ethernet points in every room. The problem comes when I want to allow all my gears to connect to the internet.
I can use the Mac Book to share its ethernet connection while tethered to the plug, which not only turns it into an unlikely desktop, but also do not champion stability when it goes in stand by or sleeps and at times it even mixes up which is the access point to the net. Therefore this does not seem to be the best solution.
I can put the AE in bridge mode and plug it straight to the ethernet. But most hotels internet access are designed to charge per MAC address, so every time the router assigns via DHCP an IP to one of my gears it requires to accept new charges for that gear, even if they are all in the same room. This definitely does not seem right either.
Now if I configure the AE to share a public IP address and force it to ignore the double NAT warning, the AE light turns green but the internet sharing does not seem to work at all.
    My two questions are:
    1) Why can't the AE be configured like the Mac Book to have a simple "Internet Sharing" protocol that will be always live and not going to sleep or stand by like the laptop [As the AE is design to be always online as a wireless connection].
    2) is there any way to make that "Share a public IP - *** double NAT" work?
    Any feedback is welcome.
    Thanks. M

    Hi Bob,
thanks for your reply. Yes the only way to work it out on a typical hotel set up is to adopt the bridge mode and sometime the do waive your extra logs in. But I am not always so lucky and I often need to come up with less optimal solution.
This is a bit disappointing when you a have a AE in your luggage and you can't use it properly.
Yet my Mac can work the problem out effortlessly by just "Sharing a internet connection" with the only major limitation of being physically connected to the Ethernet cable.
Why can't the Airport Express do the same thing? Basically the AE could share the internet connection like the Mac Book, i guess introducing a secondary layer of NAT after the Hotel modem/router NAT setup [which is what the MAC Book is doing].
If AE can't do that at all then I guess soon we will just end up shelving it.
I wonder if this is an actual hardware limitation, MAC Book can wire TCP/IP flow to different sources on a double nat and AE can't, or this is just a software limitation and Apple could fix it with a firmware upgrade.
    Any thoughts on this?
