PSC 2410 photosmart borderless printing off center

Hello,
My 8.5 X 11 borderless printing has an 1/8" border on two sides of the page when printing from one computer while the same file printed from a different computer has a 1/4" border on the same two sides.
I have tried a mulitude of setting changes that have no affect on the problem. I have removed the printer from my list of printers then searched for it again in an attempt to reinstall the driver. I have replaced the the encoer strip. So far I have not been to print this file correctly without borders, I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO IT IN THE PAST.
The printer is shared through a home network. The host computer is an HP Pavilion HPE. Both computers are 64bit & run Win 7.
There are no error messages.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Mike H

PSC 2410 Photosmart All-In-One Scanner Printer
     installing on Windows XP
After the HP driver sofware is run (gc_w01_ENU_NB.exe), The scanner shows this message when I attempt to use it, "Scan Options are not set.  Install or run the device software on computer."
The printer works fine so it appears that part of the installation was complete.  Can someone please help me get my computer to install the full driver package?

Run the HP solution center on the computer, and scan from the computer. If you want use the scan button on the printer to scan, set up "scan to" destinations on hp solution center. This error message basically says you have not set up the scan button options yet.

  • Any way to print off-center?

Since Aperture centers the image on the paper, not within the printer's usable print area, it won't produce a 12x18 print on 13x19 paper on my Epson 4000, because the 4000 has a minimum bottom margin of 0.556". Aperture sets that as the minimum margin on all sides and so prints only 17.88" wide. In Photoshop, I can center the 12x18 image in the printable area, which is more than 18" (19" - 0.556" bottom margin - 0.13" top margin = 18.314"), and I get a full 12x18 image printed off-center on the paper. Aperture does not seem to provide a way to do this - it insists on centering on the paper.
    Anyone know of a workaround?

Thanks for actually addressing the question. Yes, I have set Custom Layout to 12x18, but I cannot set the border to zero - it is automatically set to a minimum of 0.556" and cannot be reduced. I tried setting a custom paper size of 13x18.5 and was able to set the border to 0.25". My thinking was that this would trick the printer into printing closer to the leading edge of the paper, where the printer's margin is smaller (0.13"). Unfortunately, when I did this, the printer kept giving me "incorrect paper size" errors and refusing to print. The 4000 can print borderless only at the long edges of the paper, not at the leading and trailing edges.
I recall that my Epson 2200 had the same margin issues, but it was possible to override the printer's defaults by using a "borderless" paper setting. With the 4000, this seems not to be possible.
As for color, I am very familiar with color management. I let the app manage color, selected the Ilford profile, perceptual rendering, black point compensation, set print rez at 1440, selected the appropriate media, and turned off color management in the driver. I even tried using absolute rendering, figuring this might lock down the neutrality of the b&w, but no. CS3 still rendered skies ever so slightly cyan, where Aperture was more consistent across the tonal range.
Ultimately, I used QuadTone RIP, a lovely little $50 shareware RIP dedicated to B&W printing. Despite the name, it also works with color inks. Does a terrific job. In daylight, my Aperture/Epson driver prints look very neutral. But, under artificial light, I see a slight reddish cast in midtones. Prints made with QTR are neutral under any light and do not suffer from metamerism.
    ...'Case anyone's interested.

  • HP5250 Printable CDs Print Off Center

Using the printable CD feature, I find the image placement prints off center. At first they were slightly off to the left which was no big deal. But the last few I printed came out noticeably shifted toward the bottom leaving a sliver of white at the top.
Is there a way to realign the CD print tray?
Also, is there a way to print right to the outer edge and center hole without having an unprinted border?
I use Roxio Express Labeler that came with the printer.
    Thanks!

  • Why is my PDF printing off center when I have the landscape box checked?

I am having some trouble with printing my pdf's. I have several PDF's that are oriented in landscape orientation. In the past, they printed normally in landscape mode or autoportrait/landscape mode. Now they print fine in autoportrait/landscape mode, but print off center when printed in landscape mode. The reason this is a problem, is I have given instructions to 100's of my buyers for printing in "landscape mode"....have heard from one buyer already today with this printing problem. I  was then able to reproduce the problem on my own printer.  Is this a recent Adobe update and if so will it be fixed any time soon? Or is there something I have unknowingly done to my printer setting and this buyer has done the same? Thank you in advance for your help.

This is happening when I have the "actual size" box checked  (the scaling box is not checked). Also, the printable area is centered on the page in the original documents. I have printed all of these pdf's in the past with the landscape box checked and have never had this happen.

  • Ordered prints. Several were cut off at edges or were printed off center. How do I prevent this in the future?

Ordered prints from my Mac library to Apple. Several came back cut off or printed off-center. How do I prevent this in the future?

How do I prevent this in the future?
Before ordering any print product proof it by creating a PDF file of it according to this Apple document:    iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture.  Save the PDF file to compare with the printed copy when it arrives.
For this book contact Apple via the 800-275-2273 phone number. Apple has been very good a correcting problems.  They gave me a refund so I could order again.

  • Epson 4000 prints off center

Using any of several applications (Aperture, Photoshop, Lightroom) my Epson 4000 is printing off center since upgrading to 10.5.4. I have checked all printer settings, reloaded the latest drivers and I have the latest firmware. If I make the border too small, it cuts off part of the image and prints the cutoff portion on a second sheet. The local service center said it is a Leopard issue. Does anyone have a suggestion or a solution?
    Thanks
    Peter

A4 on a lot of Epsons has a margin on one side. On my the 1290 the minimum is 14.4mm so I set all the sides to 15mm and use zoom to fill to give an even border. I'll also saved my main paper types in presets by saving as Standard.

  • Psc 2410 photosmart printer color display is not bright enough to read

my display is not bright enough to read on my psc 2410 multifunction photosmart printer

    Hi there,
Lets see if a reset will rectify the issue: While printer is powered ON, pull the power cord from the printer then from the wall. After 30 seconds reconnect power to wall and printer (eliminate any power strip until we have identified it is not part of the problem). This will restore the printer to a known good condition (if it is possible). Let us know if it helps.
    Best of Luck!

  • Printing off center with splix and gdi drivers

I was just installing cups to get printing working with my Samsung ML-1740 printer. There are two drivers, I found, available for it splix and gdi. Splix is supposed to be the better driver, but I found both print pages off center, to the right, splix more so (about 1/8 inch) than gdi. Is there anyway to correct for this globally on my system? I'd rather not have to modify the margin settings in every document manually. Or is this just a bug and going to have to be addressed by the authors of the drivers?

When printing using Acrobat Reader, the problem with me was DOH, the paper was jiggling around in the paper feeder. I tightened up the guides and got better results sideways, and ok with the length.
However, the person I am doing the job for continued to have problems, and it was not until he sent me a printout from his HP all in one printer that I suspected that his cheap printer was trying to HELP matters.
I had run the background color full bleed to the very edges of the paper. Easier to find out where the off center problem was. He was pretty good on the vertical centering, but the bottom of the card really showed a distinctive problem. The ink stopped printing at EXACTLY the usual 1/2" margin on the bottom, where one would normally break apart or trim the cards. In addition, the HP apparently pulled this edge 1/8" up. I think the HP was trying to HELP us idiots from running the live area (ie, type) right to the crop edges.
So, I changed the design, removed all physical crop marks (used only for gauging how the pages were printing in relation to the scored biz card stock) and removed the background color bleed from the bottom...actually redesigned all cards so there would be no bleeds at all, He seemed to think that solved the problem, and the HP did not feel inclined to help. And it did not vertically shrink the pdf image to the safe live area.
It's hard dealing with someone with very rudimentary skills in these things. Even phone conversations weird. He didn't understand that all the ten cards were now one pdf image, and that Avery template would not help in this case.
He's waiting to get more card stock for his biz cards, and will finally see if it printed right for him.

  • HP Officejet 7610 randomly printing off center.

The header says it all, when printing one copy will be perfect, then the next comes out off center towards the right of page. Does it randomly whether printing one at a time or in multiples. Many more prints come out off center than not. Have updated firmware and drivers, still no luck. Printer is communicating wirelessly.

Hello , and welcome to the HP Community! I hope you have a pleasant experience with us.   I understand you are having an issue with off center printing on your HP Officejet 7610 Wide Format e-All-in-One printer. I'd love to help you with this. The first thing I would suggest, would be to make a multiple page copy on the printer itself. This will tell us if the issue is being cause by the printer hardware. If the copies print without issues, then I'd recommend making sure you have the most recent version of the HP software installed for your printer. You can download the software here - HP Officejet 7610 series Full Feature Software and Drivers If the copies are still off center, than we are most likely dealing with a hardware problem and I have a few suggestions. Please follow the steps in this document to check for jammed paper or obstructions in the paper path:A 'Carriage Jam' Message Displays for HP Officejet 7610 Wide Format e-All-in-One Printer Series (H912) I'd also recommend uninstalling and re-installing the ink cartridges. You should also try to align the printhead manually from the front panel of the printer:From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Right Arrow (), and then touch Setup ().Touch Tools, and then touch Align Printhead.Wait while the printer aligns the printhead and then prints an alignment page. Please respond to let me know if we have resolved your issue!Have a fantastic day.

  • How can I get a printer driver for the hp psc 2410 photosmart?

When I tried toadd the printer, there was a message saying that the printer driver for the 2400 series was available, but when I tried to download it, I received an error message saying that I couldn't download it because of a network error.  My Macbook is not on a network at the moment.  How can I get the driver so I can print?

You can also install this update directly (not through app store):

If you want us to help more, you will need to give us more detailed info. "It didn't work" leaves me wondering exactly what you've done so far.
For example, after clicking Add/+ and selecting the printer you want, have you waited for a full minute for the Mac to find the driver

when it starts searching for driver, have you tried going to the pull-down menu where it says "Use: Auto-select," and choosing "Select Printer Software..." to make a manual selection?

  • HP PSC 2410 Photosmart All-in-One Printer install no internet

Hi, I'm trying to install this printer for my grandfather (without the cd). My grandfathers computer is not connected to the internet so the standard advisor program will not be able to download anything. It appears there is no standalone driver I can download and bring to him. I've downloaded the windows xp/2000 driver, but some reviews online make it seem like that won't work.
How can I install drivers for this printer without an internet connection?
    Thanks.

    Hello paganor ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
Just so you know, HP does not have a full feature software and driver package available for this printer.  You could however try the Deskjet 960c driver that is located in the add a printer folder.
Let me know how you make out.

  • HP PSC 2410 - can only print when document contains a color besides B & W..

Sorry, I got only crickets chirping on this over at "Tiger printing". Thought someone here might have insight w/ the user account "smoking gun" element. Background...
It has been frustrating since the update 10.4.7 "broke" my printing ease (it did, for whatever reason).
By accident, I finally discovered that if a text document from any program contains a color (if no color, B&W, it will not print --juts spits out blank pages) it will print when set to grayscale or color. So I have to convert any B & W documnt to a color and it will print (whether I set to gray scale or color --weird).
I created a new user account for a test, and it printed black text in "TextEdit" --okay, good, helps me narrow it down, right? So then I followed these instructions from another thread here:
"If a new user does not have the problem, then chances are it is a file in the user library. Reset the printing system, and go through and delete the com.apple.print... preference files and everything in the Printers folder. Reinstall the printer and see if that does it."
Tried it and it didn't work...
Weeks ago, I went through days and days w/ HP support through e-mail, as they would hand it off from one tech to another. Non officially they just sorta gave up on my case (I know I'm not the only one as my buddy has the same issue). I have installed their new driver, etc. I've been through many many steps of deleting this and that, but nothing worked. In all that time they never suggested the new user account. I was holding onto hope that 10.4.8. might help. Nope.
I'm hoping someone smarter than me will identify what I need to do next, a the above didn't help. Obviously the user account stuff is reavealing something in my account (a pref?) is not playing nice w/ the HP printer Thanks.
    T i m

Didn't notice anything here on 10.4.8 intel with the latest drivers that it did not print some things, but did notice that when i print almost 100% cpu is used to do it.
Remove all stuff, Try installing latest 'drivers' again (see hp.com) and tell if it is still there.
If so: please tell what os, what mac.

  • PSE8: printing off-center on a paper sheet?

    Hi,
with photoshop elements 8, I can only seem to print a photo centered on the sheet of paper I use. For example, if I have a 10x15 photo, and I want to use a A4 sheet, I can't seem to be able to displace the photo so that, afterwards, I can print another photo below / aside.
I understand that if I have 2 or more photos, the use of "Organizer" can be useful, however when I have only one photo I'd hate to waste the rest of my photopaper.
In PSE7, it was extremely easy to move the photo all over the paper place, because there were the "locators" upper margin / left margin, or the "center photo" flag. In PSE8, all this seems to have disappeared and the help, be it on disk or online, is hateful and gives no useful information at all.
Thanks in advance for any help,
    regards

    @Mark Sand:
neither did I, but I had to upgrade due to the lack of support for the newest Operating Systems. In particular, PSE8 is the first to be certified for Win 7... If you run XP, keep PSE2 !!!
    @Saurabh:
I think Barbara B has already given the answer to the matter: if you uncheck "print one photo per page", you enable the possibility for Organizer to arrange your photos in rational patterns when you choose a standard format, but this is definitely not what I was asking. Yeah, wonderful, I can print 3 copies of the same 10*15 photo on the same A4 sheet... but what if I want to print 1 single 9*19 photo on a vertical A4 by moving it topmost so that afterwards, maybe some days later, I can print another 10*15 photo on the remaining paper, simply by reinserting it into the printer tray?
Does Adobe think that photographic photopaper costs nothing? or that his users are all millionaires?
    @Barbara B.:
the workaround works like a charm, except the fact I need to keep two templates (A4 vertical and A4 horizontal) which are very very huge in size... However, nowadays computers can handle it with absolutely no problem. Thanks !!
    Regards
