PSE 6 program and apps won't open.

PSE 6 program won't open from the start menu or Windows Explorer and the editor and organizer apps won't open from Windows Explorer. All the files are listed in WE and not empty. This happened recently after I have used the program a few years. Do I need to reinstall the program? If so, will the catalog have to be recreated? There are more than 7000 photos in the catalog. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium.

Try opening Orgnaizer and Editor from there respective exe's and from welcome screen which are at-
Organizer: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 6 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe
Editor: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 6\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe
Welcome screen: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 6\Adobe Photoshop Elements 6
PS: Both paths are for 64 bit OS. For 32 bit OS use: C:\Program Files
If that doesn't help, try uninstalling and reinstalling PSE again. Your catalog will not be affected by uninstall/re-intall process.

If this is a compatibility issue because you are using an older operating system then there isn't much you can do aside from updating your OS. Do you need DNG converter 6.7? You said that DNG converter 5.6 was working fine. You could reinstall it if it supports your camera.

"edge animate - exception error" (red box, red type) and app won't open

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me... I'm not quite sure how to go about explaining the situation, but when I try to open Adobe Edge Animate, this "Edge Animate - Exception" error box appears, (please see below) then the program quits unexpectedly. I can't make out what the words say as it has red type on a red background.
I have Uninstalled the program and reinstalled it, and the same error appears.
I'm new to this app so I have no clue as to how I go about resolving this issue.
I hope someone can help me, I know this is brief so please feel free to ask me any further questions.

Thank you very much the problem is resolved, but instead of removing the folder, I placed it on my desktop and placed it back, I have given a more detailed explanation below. And no this is not the entire log on the crash report, it's rather long though.
I followed your instructions, and removed the '5.0.1' folder that was in the 'Edge Animate' folder and stored it on my desktop. It had no content at the time I moved it, like in the '5.0.0' folder in the image below:
I then tried to open Edge Animate again, and the 'Red Error box' didn't show up, however it crashed instantly with the same 'Quit unexpectedly' report.
So I put the '5.0.1' folder back in the 'Edge Animate' folder, and the contents just seemed to be there all of a sudden? (please see image below) and now the program launches fine.
I am still yet to start a project and see if that works ok whilst working on it, however I will inform you if it works fine or any further problems occur, but for now it is all ok.

I try to install my CS 5 Photoshop program and it won't open.

I install my CS 5 Photoshop program and an error comes up in the install section. When I go to open the program an error shows up stating "Could not initialize Photoshop because
the preferences file was invalid (it has been deleted)". How did this happen and how can it be fixed?

If the rest of the install was successful the following should help:
Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) as you start Photoshop. You are prompted to delete the current settings; Click Yes.

My screen won't scroll, and apps won't open when touched, but will with double touch. When an icon is touched a black outline surrounds it. Any suggestions?

AFTER OS3 UPGRADE, 2GEN IPOD TOUCH HAS NO AUDIO and APPS WON'T OPEN

I installed iTunes 8.2 last week. Today I upgraded my 2gen iPod Touch to OS3 and there is no audio for songs purchased through iTunes. Songs that I have ripped from CDs have audio. Podcasts have audio. Songs I purchased from iTunes are not yet DRM free (I haven't paid yet to do so), so is this something about DRM or a OS3 problem?
Also, apps (from the store) icons appear on the iPod, but will not open when tapped.
I have done reset and restore. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Hope I won't have to wait for Apple to fix this. Thanks for your help.

I actually just had a call with an apple IT person - he had me go to "settings" on my touch, and reset, then "reset all settings".
my volume bar came back and it is now working with all my speakers, in the car, headphones, etc.

Could you verify the operating system level you're talking about. The latest update is OS X 10.7.4 however your post says 10.5.4.
Software Update will not reload something once it's downloaded. You can go to the Apple download site at http://support.apple.com/downloads/ and manually download whatever you need.

Try to force quit the app
Double tap the home button. When you see the app previews on the screen scroll sideways if needed to get the preview in question on the screen. Flick that preview up and off the screen to close the app. Single tap the home button or home screen preview to exit the mode.

Ever since yesterday, my Ipod apps won't open properly. I googled it, and couldn't find anything accurate. So i deleted all of the apps, and re-downloaded them. Now they're doing it again. I had the same issue. After searching around online I found out that you can try downloading another app (it can be any app) onto your ipod. After it finishes downloading see if your other apps open. You don't even have to keep the new app. Just see if your other ones work and you can delete the new one. That should work. If not, try to hard reset it. Here is another apple support link for steps on hard reseting it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430).

Use Windows Explorer to open the folder containing your catalog. The normal location is Pictures\Lightroom. Locate a folder with the extension .lrdata and delete that folder. Then you should be able to start Lightroom again, and Lightroom will begin building and new previews folder. Do not delete anything else.
