PSE8 - Help with Watermarking vs Cropped Photos

I have recently been experimenting with Watermarking, using the "Process Multiple Files" option. It works great, except for one thing: when watermarking a photo that has been cropped from its original size, the watermark gets cropped as well. Please see this link for an example of what I mean.
The cropped photos have been saved as separate files from the original, so why is this happening?
Can anyone tell me, a: how to fix it, b: how to keep it from happening in the future, and/or c:, what am I doing wrong??? Please?

Off Topic, Help with Batch Auto Cropping

I have 2000+ scanned slides (Nikon 4000 film scanner) in Tiff format, and there is a black band around each scanned slide (which is normal for slides - the scanned area is slightly larger than the picture area) that I want to get rid of. I am NOT going to crop them one at a time!! Does anyone know of a program that will do this automatically in batch mode? I once saw a program that would "auto Crop" photos but I can't remember the name. The slides are 30 years old ( hence the digitizing ) and I don't care too much about the accuracy, ie if it crops a little too much.

and another thing, once you do the l&S crop, if you want to move the location slightly, hit 'C' to bring up the crop HUD and the image goes back to full size again, but with the crop rectangle the same size as before and you can move it around if need be ...
this was an important thing that was introduced in 1.5.x along with l&s of straightening ...

Need help with Watermarks

Hey everyone. Heres what I'm doing.
In photoshop elements 4, I have created a new file about 850px wide.
I made sure that the Background Contents drop down box is set to Transparent.
I select the text type tool, set it to 48pt, color = white.
I drag the tool across the canvas and type "PROOF"
I save as PSD file.
When I export in Aperture, I have selected the Export preset that has the watermark file selected. When I open the exported file, I get my image and on top of it is the word proof but it is surrounded by a black box.
I'm sure I'm doing something incorrectly but please, any help would be appreciated.
I'm using Aperture 1.5.2.

#1. "Notoriously poor form".... I apologize that I'm not up on message board etiquette. I do not typically spend a lot of time on message boards unless I "REALLY" need help.
#2. I've been searching this board for hours trying to find the answer. No joy. Of course, I have found quite a few smart a$$ remarks like yours that doesnt help anyone.
#3. I haven't determined that it's apples problem. As a matter of fact, in my original post, I admitted that it was probably something that I was doing wrong. Pretty much why I'm asking for help.
#4. I saved the file as a PSD file maintaining the layers. Actually, this was in my original post, too. Did you even read it?? Or was your intent just to flame me because I was trying to get some help with this issue after 10 hours of trying. I may or may not understand "how to save an alpha". Thats why I posted what I was doing here to see if someone would be friendly and kind enough to help me.
#5. I've went through the procedure about 20 times. (And, no, thats not an exaggeration). I get the black box every single time.

Help with making circle shape photo....

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me
out please.
I am using Photoshop CS Version 8.   I have a photo which I would like to print out but in a circle shape. I'm a bit of a novice at Photoshop and can only really re-size, crop and alter tints/hues and thats about it. After struggling with this I found this tutorial in Youtube but go so far and am stuck.

The photo is 4 x 5.3in but I want the circle to be 4 x 4 in. That is what I sized it when I did File, New. I can draw the circle but its not a steady line, its like dotted and when I click the background or anywhere in the image, the circle disappears. Also by fluke, another time I got as far as placing the photo and dragging it to fit but could not get the photo inside the circle. I'm not good at layers and mine seem to say set 1, not stage 1.   I don't find it as easy as it is in the video. Can anyone enlighted me please?

I use CS3, so I can tell you how I'd do it, but I can't be sure it's applicable to your version:
Open the photograph.
Create a new layer on top of it.
Double click on the background layer to unlock it. It now becomes Layer 0. Move Layer 1 under Layer 0.
Go to the Eliptical Tool and set the Fixed Ratio 1 to 1.
Circle the picture - move the dotted circle to frame the area you want. Then Select -> Inverse; Then Edit -> Cut.
Merge Down, and save as a JPEG.   Then you can print the image.

Need help with adjusting size for photos in my website

Wow it's super to know about adobe forum which i never thought existed, i have been to the adobe site several times befor but never noticed there is a forum
Ok i have few issues would like some help if possible.
I have a website for public holidays and festivals and i have been really stressed in the ways i am adding the photos which i am buying from fotolia. First in my featured images the screen is very wide and slim...so i am really having hard time with adjusting the photos so they would fit in a way and show the best part of the photo in the screen, once the featured image is clicked on then their is no problem since it opens up in the full size. Is their a speacial tool in adope (i have cs4) which deals with images in this aspect? Secondly, before i was downloading the image with the regular size in which i bought them (around 3000 px) but that significantly slowed my webiste and i had to resize them into around 500 px, but now the image is small. what is the way around that, is there a feature where i can keep the photo big size with high resolution and little px. I see many big nice resolution photos but very small in size. i have just purchased a lot of photos that i would be posting soon and would like to do them right from the start.
I don't know if i explain the situation right in words but you can take a look here, most photos for the posts are on the main page, please take a look and tell me how i should revise or make better for my photos in the featured images.
I have very little experiance in photoshop so i made a very simple logo, but is there a tool that is speacialy designed to help make it easy doing a professional logo?
Any comments, hints or help would be highly appreciated

You should use the crop tool to crop your images. You should never squish your images, it really looks unprofessional:
For your problem with saving images, you can optimize your images for web using the "Save for Web…" menu option:
Make sure that you save your images at the dimension that you want them to display on your website (It looks like all your images in the blog are 620px wide, go with that).

Help With A Project " XML Photo Gallery"

Hi all thanks for taking the time to look at this post,
I have made a Photo Gallery using Xml but im having a bit of
trouble getting it to work, What i mean is that i have saved my xml
gallery as a .swf file and im loading it into a loader componet of
another .swf file.
The gallery is the screen shots for my Clans webpage. But
when i load the gallery .swf file into the themain.swf file i get
no pictures or captions.

Help with import/drag one photo into iPod Classic 160

Hello - I could swear I've done this before --- I've got my iPod Classic 160 Gb synced to iTunes, and JUST want to drag one little photo onto my iPod (in the left column), but I get an alert & it won't let me do this. Can't you just add a photo by dragging it onto the iPod in the left column? I don't want to totally sync my iPod as I get a warning saying that if I sync for photos, it will replace ALL photos and music with what is in my iTunes library, and I don't have the entire contents of my iPod currently in my iTunes library. Can't I do a simple thing like add one photo? (It's a .jpg.) Thank you very much for any help.

Thanks again for your suggestion about taking the charger back to the store. We tried it there and the charger itself worked fine (shocker!) so we tried with a different Apple charger and my iPod. And it finally worked! The guy at the store tried to explain to me WHY the charger hadn't worked with my iPod (something about ampere or something) but when I told him that it in fact worked with my old iPod from 2007 he had to agree that it was very strange.
Anyway, they didn't have in stock that new slick Apple charger (small and thin compared to the big squared one I got first) so I ended up buying a Belkin charger that works great. So all's well that ends well!

Try this one and see if it helps:
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes, Sync and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Help with removing person in photo

I'm fairly new to photoshop and am familiar with removing objects/content aware.In the link im trying to remove the person with the hat on and fix whats left over to make it look like water is there.Mostly though having trouble removing the lower part of the guy between his arms and keeping the water and plants there.

this was the plane I made inside vanishing point, the idea is to ignore everything else and just try to focus at the river perspective. If your plane turns red or yellow you have an invalid plane that vanishing point can't really understand. play around with settings until you get a blue plane. once the plane looks good, hit ok to exit vanishing point.
create a new layer and go back to vanishing point, clone stamp some water from the top right area, until you get something like this:
as you can see I am overlapping his arms a lot, and cleaning up unwanted parts later by loading up the mask. play around with Levels to lighten up the water a bit and it should blend pretty well.
finally, add a new layer to clone stamp the weeds, these were the general areas I used:

Help with titles in themes & photo clips jumping

Hi all - working on a project and can't figure two things out! One, my main opening that I did in the themes opening I want to say a longer title than it will let me. I can type it in under title and it lets me but it only show three words when it plays - can't figure it out? Second, I have about 50 photo clips and 4 of them are jumping mid-play. Only in the timeline setting. When I play them individually they are fine. They jump mid-way thru the play and the transitions are fine. Only 4 out of 50 doesn't make sense? Anyone know? Thanks!!

No, I've tried extracting the audio and re-doing the title, but when I burn the DVD (and you know how long that takes) I find on playback I have these grating noises.
I suppose I should be grateful they are only brief and affect only a few of the many titles.

Help with detail view on photo page... no help from previous post!

I am using iweb to create my site and have an album that contains photo pages. I used a web widget / HTML snippet, to jump from my album page straight to 'detail view mode' on my photo page.
I'd like to customize the look of my 'detail view' a little (I'm using the 'White' Theme).
I have removed 'subscribe' and 'download' and do not have a slide show.
How do I:
1. Remove the text 'previous', and 'next' that appear under the image leaving just the arrows?
2. Change the look of those arrows (from 'canvasarrow-right03.png' and 'canvasarrow-left03.png' to 'canvastransport-left-N03.png' and 'canvastransport-right-N03.png')?
3. Remove the arrow that is next to 'Back to album' leaving just text?
4. Change the font and colour of this text ('Back to album') to Aerial Regular 12pt caps, 65% black?
5. The thumbnails have a blue frame to indicate which image is in large view, how do I change the colour to an orange?
6. Remove the buttons in blue and grey, top centre (that change the view from thumbnails and large pic to just large pic)?

I can't change the "Sending Page" because it uses custom "Filtering & Sorting" to drill down to the addresses..
Once the User has "Checked" the records to be mapped, they click the Map button, and it takes them to this Detail page (with the ID's in the URL)
Now that you mention it, the Detail form does have all of the Form fields/wkRptID's (for each of the addresses) on the page.. but how would I iterate thru the form data of each record, and grab the wkRptID's and add them to the WHERE statement..?
Either way, once I have the Query correct, it is then fed to my Google Map to plot the addresses..

Help With Deleting a Saved Photo

I saved a very high resolution picture from the internet on my iPod, and every time I try to delete it, it freezes up while trying to load it. What can I do?

Help with Elements dating of photos

I had an old copy of Elements on my old PC. I then switched to an Apple Mac & purchased the full Photoshop. Unfortunately, I was frustrated there was no organising calendar, which was a wonderful way of easily locating photos. Therefore, I have recently bought a copy of Elements 8 - simply for and assuming I could return to my old easy filing and tagging system. No calendar! How is this progress - or have I missed something?

IPhoto keeps reducing photo size when I crop (from 3MB to 500KB). I want to keep the edited versions at the higher MB size! Any help with this?

I've been using iPhoto for years with good success. Recently, when I edit and crop artwork photos, it's been saving the cropped photo as a much smaller version, going from around 3MB to only 500KB or smaller. I need the cropped version to be as big as the original. Not sure why this is happening but could use some help in making it stop. Thanks!

I know that I'm cropping the physical file but in the past this wasn't an issue for the size of the cropped piece. Even if I take just a little bit away, the file size is somehow getting deeply reduced. Resolution is still fine on the screen or for a quick email, but for when I need to make a high quality giclee print for a client, the 500Kb size just won't do. I need to retain the 2Mb original quality. I'm attaching the examples here. And thanks so much for helping !

Make sure the contact has a 10-digit number, not just the 7-digit number.
If that isn't it, does the problem only happen with iMessages, SMS or MMS messages?
Try tapping Settings > Messages, then turn SMS and MMS off. Test, then repeat again only leaving SMS or MMS on.
