PSFT Listener in OIM
Hi
I followed the steps in connector guide to deploy the PSFT listener in OIM server. I didn't see an option on how to deploy the listener in Weblogic. By default it is deployed in OIM Server.
We have a requirement to deploy PeopleSoft Listener in Weblogic server but not on OIM Sever. let me know how can I do this.

Basically it's the same as going to the weblogic admin console, selecting deployments, and choosing the ear file that is in the connector directory. The listener, when it connects to oim, it is required to be able to find an xml file that is in the file structure, so you will want to make sure this file exists wherever the listener is deployed.

Any one has an idea on how to resolve this- I understand you ran schedule task, but did it bring all the valid values in the lookup ?
- In addition to it, are you supplying all the values i n the form while doing so ?
- If you are doing auto-provisioning , do it manually and see.

Error While configuring PeopleSoft Listener Web Service in new OIM setup
Hello,
setup 1: I've an existing OIM 9102 BP15 install with JBOSS server. PeopleSoft Listener Web Service is setup on this environment to read Change-Based Reconciliation.
setup 2: I installed a parallel OIM 9102 BP15 with Weblogic server pointing to the same database (as with JBOSS) when JBOSS was down. This a new parallel environment to JBOSS and works alright. However, when i tried accessing the endpoint URL after successfully deploying the same peopleSoftUserMgmt.war into weblogic...(updated xlclient.properties - all other configuration remained the same)

2) Then go to deployed folder (which folder?? ..../Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/oim_domain/servers/OIM_SERVER1/stage/peopleSoftUserMgmt/peopleSoftUserMgmt.war) and manually replace the folder content with separately exploded peopleSoftUserMgmt.war/ folder ?

We are using PSFT UM v. 9.0.4 and I can't see any delete user task. The conenctor documentation does not mention it int he supported functions. Does this mean that the connector cannot delete the user or this is a must have for any connector?

you have to apply undo task (delete task) on an unconditional task.
Also check Revoke if no longer applied in access policy, so whenever the the group membership rule failed delete task will trigger for revoke.
There should not be difference via API, your revoke task from OIM does same work .

Integration of OIM with PeopleSoft
I have integrated OIM with PeopleSoft using the peoplesoft employee recon connector.The initial bulk upload is working fine but incrmental recon which happens using the peoplesoft listener is not.I have tested the peoplesoft listener using the .vbs script that has been provided by Oracle and there employee update and create is happening fine.But when when I change a user attribute in peoplesoft then same is not reflected n OIM.I am not able to see the logs itself.Please help me in this regard if someone has already integrated with the peoplesoft.
There are logs for database operation which peoplesoft does, but unfortunately for CB reconciliation in PSFT the logs doesn't actually track the flow through the peoplecode (which is copied through app designer). Just check the following important tyhings before actually digging further:
1) You are able to successfully ping the OIM from PeopleSoft side. Go to Node definition-> Ping node for node-PSFT_HR. This must return SUCCESS.
2) You can view the xml but for which message. If you are using the 9.1 connector pack then there will be 3 different messages at PeopleSoft out of which only the last mesage will be sent to OIM <PSFT_OIM_ER_MSG>. See that the status of this message should be SUCCESS.
3) If the above status is not SUCCESS then ir must show the status as PENDING or FAILED. To check this :
For PeopleTools = 8.48 or 8.49, Go to Asynchronous Services and sort for service name to look for the service name OIM_JOB_SYNC, OIM_JOB_SYNC_EFF and at last PSFT_OIM_ER_MSG in that order (assuming you did job update).
4) see for above and let me know. -
Pb with PSFT Employee Reconciliation (incremental)

While running the PSFT Employee reconciliation (incremental), I got the following error:
On PSFT side: HTTP 500
On OIM log file: ERROR,19 Feb 2010 12:14:19,155,[OIMCP.PSFTCOMMON],oracle.iam.connectors.psft.common.listener.PeopleSoftOIMListener : process : Message Detaisl not provided in web.xml for ITResource WebServer name.
In the WebServer name, it showed the server name.
In the design console I created the peoplesoft ITResource named PSFT Server as per Oracle installation guide.
How can I debug this error?

However, now I have a different error. I believe this is related to the test xml file that I built to test the connector.
It seems that the reconciliation couldn't find the IT Resource for People Soft.
How do you include the it resource in the test xml file? or how does this work?

Unable to start scheduler in OIM 9.1.0.2bp11 Weblo10.3.2
Hello,
After doing a REINIT using the scheduler web interface : http://xxxxx:7511/xlScheduler/ with xelsysadm account
Then, STOP the scheduler and trying to START it without success.
I have restarted my server, same issue.

ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested
While connecting "sqlplus SYSADM/SYSADM@HCM" I am getting the below error:
ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor
Installation background:
Windows 7 l(64-bit) laptop.
Created linux virtualbox to installl peoplesoft VM templates.
so far installed: Oracle11gR2.vdi and HCMDB.vdi on the linux virtualbox.
Followed the steps exactly what it is in the link below: Got the above error in page 4 of the link at connecting to database via sqlplus.

Below provided initHCM.ora, tnsnames.ora, listerner.ora and some responses I tried. I could not figure out what causing the issue even after researching in web.

My guess is that the database service "HCM" is not up and running but not sure how to make up and running. Even I could not find it listed in the linux services list.
Note: Able to login sqlplus using "sqlplus sys/sys as sysdba" but failing to access database table as "select * from PSRECDEFN;"

I have no luck and the error still persists.
I have set the "export ORACLE_SID=HCM" from root user and oracle user too.
I guess, I have already loaded database when I ran the "cd /opt/oracle/psft/vm

Login issue in OIM11g due to oim credsmap error
We have OIM 11gR2PS1 installed on unix box. We have AD connector 11.1.1.5.0 installed on it .Also,peoplesoft recon connector PSFT_ER-11.1.1.5.0 is installed
In our scenario,we have webservice code in which using recon event we are creating users in OIM environment
This is hosted on same OIM server unix box.Inside webservice code we have refred oimclient.jar file to work with OIM APIs and Recon Service class.
When i tested webservice for first time it was unable to load OIM API classes as it was unable to find oimclient.jar in classpath.
So to resolve this issue i kept oimclient.jar in location- "WL_HOME/server/lib/" and also added following entry in setDomainEnv.sh to load oimclient.jar explicitly in classpath

and made entry in system-jazn-data.xml present in DOMAIN_HOME//config/fmwconfig/ as :

But,when we tried to run schedule task "Active Directory Group Lookup Recon" for AD, we are getting error message as :
java.lang.LinkageError: loader constraint violation: loader (instance of com/thortech/xl/dataobj/tcADPClassLoader) previously initiated loading for a different type with name "com/thortech/xl/dataaccess/tcDataProvider"
So,to resolve this AD schedule task issue,we rolled back changes made for webservice in setDomainEnv.sh and system-jazn-data.xml file
and removed explicit classpath entry line of oimclient.jar from setDomainEnv.sh
But after restrating all admin and managed servers,we are currently facing issue in logging into OIM idenity/syadmin or design console with xelsyadm credentials
we have never made any changes of password for xelsyadm account or not made any change in any authenticatorproviders in weblogic console
we tried everything form reverting all changes to original setup without webservice or peoplesoft listener implementation
removed all explicit classpath entries or grant entry for oim credsmap from system-jazn-data.xml.
But still same issue persists
Any helpful suggestion is appreciated on this ASAP.

I have tried out option of adding authwl.conf in java argument as mentioned. But,still same issue persists. I think it will be same whether we refer authwl.conf file from OIM_ORACLE_HOME/server/config or OIM_ORACLE_HOME/designconsole/config/ location.
We havent made any changes in USR table for xelsysadm user
Even system-jazn-data.xml is intact.

Its working fine and i am not facing any login issue in OIM console.Also the Active Directory connector scheduled task are running fine without giving earlier error whic is becaus of explicit classpath addition in setDomainEnv.sh.This error was
java.lang.LinkageError: loader constraint violation: loader (instance of com/thortech/xl/dataobj/tcADPClassLoader) previously initiated loading for a different type with name "com/thortech/xl/dataaccess/tcDataProvider" .
This error was arising since i have explicitly mentioned oimclient.jar again in classpath and as OIM server also will load it at OIM server startup time. So it was finding two instance of tcDataProvider and was not able to decide to refer to which one of them.
But, I have to refer oimclient.jar in my webservice code to work.If we dont add classpath entry explicitly for oimclient.jar then it will throw error..that it is unable to load OIMClient class.
Webservice is deployed in OIM serveer . Is there any other way by which i can refer oimclient class in webservice code without causing this classpath conflict issue. ?
Also.is it correctthat for first time when we load Classpath explicitly like i did in my scenario,then it will always try to refer same classpath for that jar always.

Uma.I would assume you are missing the jar file for your scheduled tasks. Try and create a new scheduled task with the same class name, if it won't let you save, this is your answer. You'll want to make sure you have the connector scheduled task file in the ScheduleTask folder in your OIM directory.

OIM 9.0.1.1 on Weblogic Failing
My installation is failing and I cannot seem to get to the bottom of it. Any pointers / help here is appreciated.

App Server - tutorial uses JBoss...I'd rather use WebLogic to learn it as well
Oracle Identity Manager
Does sequence matter? Unfortunately, the tutorials aren't as detailed as, for example, Microsoft's Walkthroughs for MIIS 2003.

OIM 11g High Availability Deployment

I'm deploying OIM 11g in High Available schema, following Oracle docs: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/core.1111/e10106/imha.htm#CDEFECJF, I have succesfully installed and configured OIM & SOA in weblogic domain on 'OIMHOST1', trying to propagate the configuration from 'OIMHOST1' to 'OIMHOST2' I have packed (using pack.sh) the domain on 'OIMHOST1' and unpacked (using unpack.sh) it to 'OIMHOST2' so I have updated the NodeManager executing setNMProps.sh and finally Ihave started the NodeManager. In order to Test everything is fine and following the documentation I'm traying to perform the following steps, but I'm not succeed
I'M MUST TO SAY THAT I'M RUNNING ON SINGLE STANDARD EDITION DB INSTANCE AND NOT RAC AS MENTIONED IN ORACLE DOCS, PLEASE CLARIFY IF RAC IS REQUIRED, FOR NOW I'M IN DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT, SO I THINK RAC IS NOT REQUIRED FOR NOW, PLEASE CLARIFY

Follow these steps to start the WLS_SOA2 and WLS_OIM2 managed servers on OIMHOST2:
Stop the WebLogic Administration Server on OIMHOST2. Use the WebLogic Administration Console to stop the Administration Server.
Start the WebLogic Administration Server on OIMHOST2 using the startWebLogic.sh script under the $DOMAIN_HOME/bin directory. For example:
/u01/app/oracle/admin/OIM/bin/startWebLogic.sh > /tmp/admin.out 2>1&
Validate that the WebLogic Administration Server started up successfully by bringing up the WebLogic Administration Console.
Here its not possible start AdminServer on OIMHOST2, first of all, it looks like boot.properties file under WLS_OIM_DOMAIN_HOME/servers/AdminSever/security is not valid, the first time I try to execute startWeblogic.sh script, it ask for username/password, I have updated boot.properties (vi boot.properties) and manually set clear username and password, this time startWeblogic.sh script passed this stage, but fails:

I have verified that this directory "mds" does not exists, as reported by the IOException, in OIMHOST2, but it exists in OIMHOST1. from here its not possible for me following Oracle's documentation, I test this starting Adminserver in OIMHOST1, and starting WLS_SOA2 and WLS_OIM2 managed servers from OIMHOST1 AdminServer console, I have tested 2 ways:
1.- All managed servers in OIHOST1 are shutdown, for this, managed servers in OIMHOST2 works as expected
2.- All managed servers in OIMHOST1 are RUNNING, for this, first I have started SOA2 managed server, after that, I have fired OIM2 managed server, when it finish boot process the following message appears in server's output:
<Warning> <org.quartz.impl.jdbcjobstore.JobStoreCMT> <BEA-000000> <This scheduler instance (servername.domainname1304128390936) is still active but was recovered by another instance in the cluster. This may cause inconsistent behavior.>
Start the WLS_SOA2 managed server using the WebLogic Administration Console.
Start the WLS_OIM2 managed server using the WebLogic Administration Console. The WLS_OIM2 managed server must be started after the WLS_SOA2 managed server is started.
8.9.3.9 Validate the Oracle Identity Manager Instance on OIMHOST2
Validate the Oracle Identity Manager Server instance on OIMHOST2 by bringing up the Oracle Identity Manager Console using a web browser.
The URL for the Oracle Identity Manager Console is:
http://oimvhn2.mycompany.com:14000/oim
Log in using the xelsysadm password.

I have succeeded deploying OIM in HA, just now my customer and I are working on the installation of webtier. Now I have a better understand about HA concepts and the way weblogic works -really nice, but little tricky-
All the magic about HA is configuring properly the network interfaces in each Linux boxes (our case) so, first of all you need to create 2 new floating IP's on each Linux boxes (google: how to create virtual Ip in linux, if you don't know) clone and modify your 'eth0' network script to create the virtual IPs

create DB schemas with RCU
install weblogic
install SOA
patch SOA
install IAM
---if you are working on a virtual machine is good idea to take a snapshot here---
Create and configure the weblogic domain (special attentention whe configuring the cluster), see step 13 of 8.9.3.2 Creating and Configuring the WebLogic Domain for OIM and SOA on OIMHOST1, here you need to cofigure:
For the oim_server1 entry, change the entry to the following values:
Name: WLS_OIM1
Listen Address: the IP that is confured in eth0:1 of Linux box1
Listen Port: 14000
For the soa_server1 entry, change the entry to the following values:
Name: WLS_SOA1
Listen Address: the IP configure on eth0:2 of Linux box1
Listen Port: 8001
For the second OIM Server, click Add and supply the following information:
Name: WLS_OIM2
Listen Address: the IP configured on eth0:1 of Linux box2
Listen Port: 14000
For the second SOA Server, click Add and supply the following information:
Name: WLS_SOA2
Listen Address: the IP configured on eth0:2 of Linux box2
Listen Port: 8001
Click Next.
On Step 16 ensure you are using the UNIX tab to configure the machines, also ensure that for machine1 you use the IP configured on the eth0 interface of Linux box1, the same for machine2
please confirm you have performered 8.9.3.3.2 Update Node Manager on OIMHOST1
if everything is ok you must be able to start the AdminServer as described in the guide.
configure OIM: 8.9.3.4.2 Running the Oracle Identity Management Configuration Wizard, in my case I don't need LDAPsync, I have skipped this section, if you configure properly OIM, then you mus perform 8.9.3.5 Post-Configuration Steps for the Managed Servers
resrtar AdminServer then from the weblogic console, start OIM and SOA if node manager is properly configured SOA and OIM must run properly, update deployment mode and coherence as described in the guide and verify that OIM run perfectly in Linux box1.
Propagate OIM from Linux box1 to Linux box2 as described in the guide, using pack and unpack (you MUST use the same filesystem directory structure on both Linux boxes)
Update and start NodeManager as described in the guide
VERY IMPORTAN OBSERVATION

Server migration should work straight-forward if you have configured the floating IPs as described, I have not configured the persistence yet since my customer does not have the skills to share a storage.

OIM 11g Peoplesoft Roles provisioning issue
Hi All,
We have configured Peoplesoft Connector 9.1.1.6 to provision roles to Peoplesoft through access policy. We are not able to provision multiple roles into Peoplesoft. It just provisions first role to user in peoplesoft and errors when provisioning the other role. The role names are matching in peoplesoft and OIM, pulled into the lookup.

Problem connecting to OIM instance with the Design Console

I've got questions about how to use the design console to connect to an OIM instance. I'm not the one who has set up the instance and the one who did cannot help me much. He did give me root access on the machine though.
So first, I'm wondering how do I figure out which port I should connect to. All the doc I can find says that default port is 14000, but I don't understand what it's referring to. I can access to the Web Administration page for Fusion Middleware Control by going to <server_ip>:7001/em. Should I use port 7001? I can figure out that 14000 might not be the correct port because "netstat" does not show anything listening on that port.
My second question is related to the credentials I should use to login to the console. According to the doc and tutorials I found, the user should be xelsysadm. However the person who has set up the instance does not remember having explicitly set a password for this user. Is it possible to log in to the console using the weblogic admin user?
I've tried a couple of things, but nothing has worked so far. I always get an error of some some sort. I always get an Invalid Login, except when I log in with the weblogic user and set the following properties in xlconfig.xml:
ApplicationURL= http://<server_ip>:7001/xlWebApp/loginWorkflowRenderer.do
java.naming.provider.url= t3://<server_ip>:7001/oim
With these config, I get this exception:
javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: While trying to lookup 'ejb.stateful.tcDataBase#com.thortech.xl.ejb.interfaces.tcDataBaseRemote' didn't find subcontext 'stateful'. Resolved 'ejb'
So that's pretty much where I'm at. I can't find any information that can help me, so any hint would be appreciated.

jtelliertry to login in weblogic console the port will be 7001. if you are able to do this then
goto->service->security->realim->select user and groups (try to find the correct path)
create user and then assign administrator groups to this user
login with this user/password into OIM
But for design console you don't need any url. if it is configured. go to <IDM_HOME>/designconsole/ and run xlclient.sh

Error message appears "Server is not up and running" when logging on to the OIM. anyone has a suggestion!

All next for NT/W2000 machine (with some changes it can be one of the many flavor of UNIX (LINUX included))
1. Starting the database
I assume that you have proper access to the DB server. Oracle can also be installed on your NT/W2000 workstation.
Start the DB server instance and TNS listener services for the DB instance dedicated to OID.
Connect to SQL*Plus (SQL*Plus can be replaced by SQL Worksheet) as user SYS with "as sysdba option" You might also need to indicate a valid connect string for this DB as defined in TNSNAMES.ORA.
Issue startup command. You might also indicate the pfile parameter for startup with the location of the corresponding DB parameter file.
Next two tasks are for starting OID which consists of one service and a database application.
2. Start the OID Monitor Daemon.
This described in the Oracle Internet Directory Administrators Guide.
Execute
oidmon connect=dbs1 start
where dbs1 is the name of the DB instant for the DB you started in 1.
3. Start a Server Instance
This alse described in the Oracle Internet Directory Administrators Guide.
Execute
oidctl connect=dbs1 server=oidldapd instance=1 configset=0 start
where dbs1 described in 2.
After successfully performing all this tasks you should be able to run Oracle Directory Manager.
