Publish with Detect (k)

Wondering if I can skip my usual Flash sniffer page if I use
Publish and
Detect Flash Version.
Currently I use the Dreamweaver Flash Detection behavior on
my index
page and point the user to my flash page if they have it or
my upgrade
page if they don't.
Will publishing with Detect Flash Version on eliminate this
extra page?
How can I customize the message that comes up if they don't
have the
latest version of Flash?
The section of code that deals with this looks like this:

I've tried to put HTML in where it says to, but it doesn't
work. I have
a table with a graphic and some text.
How do I get this to work? Or should I stick with the
Dreamweaver
detection behavior?

Owning your domain name is one thing. To host web pages, like the ones from iWeb, you will need to get a web hosting service as well. This can usually be arranged through your current domain registrar and this will make linking your domain name to your web hosting server a little more "automatic".
But basically, once you have the two things (domain name & web host) set up, you are ready to go with iWeb. iWeb can't really publish "directly" to your 3rd party host like it can to .Mac. The workaround would be to use iWeb's "Publish to Folder" option and then upload this folder to your web host according to their instructions for FTP.

Integration of BI Publisher with presentation services

Hello,
I have installed and configured OBI Answers and Publisher in a Linux infrastructure and configured thro' Websphere/IHS. Answers/Dashboards is working fine. I am trying to integrate BI publisher with OBI answers/dashboards. This is working fine through OC4J but when I try to integrate through Websphere, I get a crypto error.
I have to deployed a plug-in in web server and tried to integrate BI publisher with presentation services through "cryptotools" and configuring it through instance config. When I hit http://myserver:port/xmlpserver I get "Error 500: com.phaos.crypto.CipherException ". Similarly when I select more products/BI Publisher through OBI Dashboards/Answers, I get the following
Reporting Login: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.phaos.crypto.CipherException; nested exception is: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.phaos.crypto.CipherException
I feel this is a common issue across both the end points. Has anyone come across this type of issue or similar issue ?
Help is greatly appreciated.

I'm installing 10.1.3.4 and YES, i have installed BIP war in Websphere.
I think I may have resolved my original problem but faced with a different one now. I am able to logon to BI publisher standalone and integrated with OBI Answers (thro websphere). But when i click the dashboards link from BI Publisher, its going to the default OC4J installation and not my websphere. The similar re-direction works fine from OBI - Publisher but not from Publisher - OBI.
I need to find out, how its finding the server name and port to redirect from BIP -> OBI. Can you guys help please ?

How to integrate BI publisher with Apex 3.1.1

I have installed BI publisher and I have also configured the print server in Apex 3.1.1.
But when I go to download the RTF format or pdf or xls format, it does not work nor show any error.
is there any way to resolve this issue?
Or Please Explain me proper process to configure BI publisher with[b] Apex 3.1.1.

Company Name vs. Seller Name vs. Copyright (app publishing with company account)

the more I read on this topic (publishing apps on the iTunes Store), the more confused I am...
Can somebody please confirm my findings when publishing an app using a company account:
Company Name is set once when uploading the first app. Cannot be changed (unless manually by contacting Apple Support). Is the same for all apps published with this developer account. Appears, for example, in the breadcrumb navigation on top for each app.
Copyright can be set individually for each app. Thus, can be different for different apps published with one developer account
If this is correct, I am left with the following questions concerning the "seller name" that is displayed on the left-hand side when browsing the itunes Store via Web. I have noticed for some accounts the "Company Name" (e.g, "Deutsche Lufthansa AG") can be different from the Seller Name ("Lufthansa German Airline").
Where can I determine which name is displayed here? When I log on to iTunes Connect, where can I find the text that is displayed as "Seller name"?
Can I change this name even after publishing my first app? If so, how?
Can this string differ for different languages (localization) for one and the same app?

As I said, using my real name is fine with me, but I was wondering whether we need to use the entire name as it is, or whether we may be able tu display a subset of it as the display name. Mine is ridiculously long, and it would be a joke to use the full name there
For e.g. in your case, would it be possible for you to have "M. Superczynski" as the displayed developer name instead of your full name?

Items published with approvals

Items published with approval does not show when the page is in edit mode. Is this a bug or is it not meant to show. It should be shown and marked with "waiting for approval" or something.

In version 9.0.2 of portal this is a intended behavior .
Item added by the user having 'Manage Item with approvals' privilege on the page does not show the item in edit mode .
The entry for the item as pending approval is seen in status portlet for the user .
The approver sees the notification for the item in Notification portlet .

Acrobat 3D won't publish with 3D controls in Powerpoint

Acrobat 3D won't publish with the 3D motion controls when published as a powerpoint packaged CD show or as Adobe Presenter files. Controls only appear in the native powerpoint PPT form.

I did a little more testing and here's what I found. If your
audio files reside on a network server (regardless of where your
presentation resides), the publish process will crash when trying
to access the audio. I had to copy my audio files from the server
to my hard drive and import them to the presentation. Then it
published ok. Go figure.

XML publisher with jdeveloper

Hi all,
I'm wondering if there is an API of XML Publisher for using with jdeveloper for development a reporting system. After I have run queries in database, I want to present tuples in a formatted fashion in PDF, RTF document etc. There are open source facilities like jasper reports etc, if XML publisher facilitates my reporting part of my system, I want to plan reporting development via XML Publisher!
So, How I can integrate XML Publisher with jdeveloper? Is there any API documentation?

XML Publisher ships with 2 XDK parsers a 9i version for backward compatibility and 10g version - you can switch at runtim using the properties. However, you have to make sure that the XML Publisher versions of the libraries are used and not the ones coming with i.e. jdeveloper version or oc4j version that you are using. You should use the version shipped with XML Publisher, because these versions are thoroughly tested with XML Publisher.

The version of the XML Parser shipped with Oracle OC4J is incompatible with XML Publisher. When you create an XML Publisher application for OC4J you need to configure the system to use the XML Publisher version of the XML Parser. Integration of Oracle BI Publisher with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterp

Hi,
I have started the tutorial " Integration of Oracle BI Publisher with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterp" today but got stuck at the very first step.
The tutorial shows that I can see "SH" and "CountryManagers" in the shared folder but I only see the Paint Demo rpd.
I previously completed the "Creating a Repository Using the Oracle Business Intelligence Administration Tool " tutorial.
Do I need to learn anything prior to this tutorial .
I already have the default rpd as SH in NQSConfig.ini
Please suggest.

I have tried restarting OC4J and Oracle BI Server.
Is there someplace where we need to put the rpd so that it appears in the shared folders.
Even if the Paint Demo rpd is seen, when I try to view the reports I get the following errors:

can anyone share with me the installation steps for Oracle BI Publisher with CC&B 2.2 .We have CC&B installed on Sun Solaris 64 bit,Database 11.1.0.6 and weblogic 10MP1.I think i have 2 options to choose BI Publisher Enterprise Server (standalone reporting server) or Oracle BI Enterprise Edition Suite. HTML5 quiz project plays if published with CP8, but not CP7

I have a project that only consists of a title page and quiz questions that is published to HTML5 with CP7. It plays fine on an iPad, but will not load on a desktop browser like IE and Chrome; the wheel spins for a second and then just a blank page.
What's funny is that I just tried publishing the same project with the trial version of CP8 and now the project plays fine from my LMS. What's even more bizarre is that I have other project files that are a mix of regular pages and quiz questions, and they play fine in HTML5 on the iPad and desktop, all published with CP7; it's just this one project file that consists of quiz questions that's causing problems.
Any clues on how to get the project running in HTML5 on desktop when publishing with CP7?

Sounds to me like you need to reinstall your FTP program instead.
If the exact same files that you publish can be uploaded by your colleague and will work, then the problem is not with Captivate's output but in the transfer method.
Perhaps your FTP program is messed up or perhaps you are uploading the files to the server with the wrong file permission settings.

I may be missing something, but BI Publisher Enterprise is installed at the same time as when you install BIEE on the server. You wouldn't install BI Publisher Desktop on that server. You can use BI Publisher Desktop locally to create templates for use in BI Publisher Enterprise.
I'm much more familiar with XML (BI) Publisher as part of Oracle Apps moreso than BIEE, so I could be wrong in my assessment.

Integrating Oracle BI Publisher with Oracle Single Sign-on security.

I am trying to integrate BI Publisher with Oracle Single Sign-on running on a different machine.
The BI Publisher is installed with an Oracle application server 10.3.1 (includes a HTTP server). These are the steps I followed:
1) Registered BI publisher as a partner application in the Oracle SSO admin console which generated a single sign-off url.
2) Made the required modifications in the mod_osso.xml config file.
3) On the BI publisher admin page went to the securities tab and opted the SSO security and entered the single sign-off url generated in the previous step.
4) Restarted the Oracle ID mgt infrastructure and the BI pub server.
The BI pub login is not getting redirected to the SSO page.
Please let me know as what is that I am missing. I've been cracking my head with this for quite long - any help will be highly appreciated.

APEX is only using BI Publisher to transform the XML data of your report and the template you provide into PDF, Word or Excel. For this, APEX sends the XML data and the template to BI Publisher, and BI Publisher sends back to completed document. So there's nothing stored in BI Publisher, all templates, report definitions, etc are stored in the APEX schema. This has the advantage that you can reference item values and other information in your print documents, and it also ensures that you don't have to access the database again from within BI Publisher, i.e. you don't need to communicate any authentication information to BI Publisher.
Of course BI Publisher itself also provide the ability to store reports and to store templates. But those are not accessible from APEX through the built-in integration. You can however use the same templates you use for BI Publisher directly on load them into APEX for use there.
Lastly, if you want to use and print reports in both BI Publisher and your APEX applications, you can do that through web services, take a look at Tyler Muth's BLOG for more information on this topic:
