Publishing Content Type InfoPath Form in different Forest
Hello,
I created new SharePoint Farm in new Forest in our organization. (We are moving current SharePoint Farm to a different Forest. ) I restored Site collections in new farm.
I have custom InfoPath Forms published as a Content Type. I carried data connections to a new farm.
When I'm re-publishing as a content type (update or new), I'm seeing messages below. My InfoPath works without issues, but I'm not happy with these messages. What is the best solution to carry Content Type InfoPath Form to another SP Farm in another Forest?
How can I fix this issue?

I understand that you cannot publish a form to a form library as the form template is checked out. You can open the site in SharePoint designer. Open the form library in All Files folder. The template is stored in the Forms folder. You need to check whether
this file is checked out. If yes, you need to check it in. If not, you can try to edit the form template in this way:
Open the form library in browser and open library settings.
Click on the form content type and modify the Advanced Settings for the content type.
Here you can click Edit Template link to edit the form template in InfoPath designer. Try to publish the form back to the library again to see whether the issue persists.

Publishing Content Types from Hub in Bulk
I am able to publish content types from the hub just fine. However, I am in a migration scenario where over 1500 content types are being migrated to SharePoint Online from SP2013. We have successfully migrated these to the content hub, managed metadata stores,
etc. However, when they are migrated, the publish property does not migrate with it.
On-Premises, we could publish all of these with PowerShell so they could be consumed by the syndicated sites. Is there a way to publish all of these so that we don't have to go into each once via the UI?Depends who you give access too. What I'd consider doing is making a copy of what you consider to be the template for the rest of the content types, save that to a unique category within the list of content types and then build the rest off that. Show the
client how to make changes to JUST that template and in theory you'll be fine.
Or, are the content types in use already?

Incorrect Infopath content type update in form library after modifying Infopath form and publish it
I have an admin approved InfoPath form. I added new fields to that form and mapped those new fields with site columns. After uploading updated published form through CA, I noticed InfoPath Site content type for that form got updated (with newly added fields)
under Microsoft_Infopath group. This content type is also added in form library but somehow the new fields are updated incorrectly for this content type existing in form library (it doesn't show new fields, and shows one new field which is incorrectly
mapped with other column this is happening only in library).
Things I tried:
- Activate/Deactivate that content type feature
- Deactivated feature, removed form from CA, re uploaded and activated feature
- Removed those new fields and published and uploaded InfoPath form and then added those new fields and published and uploaded again.
-Deleted those fields from InfoPath and readded new fields and published and uploaded form but still the problem persists.
Any help will be appreciated.

But Update all content types inheriting from this type is already checked.
That form library has multiple content types associated with it , different infopath forms get submitted there. What I noticed is that when I change the form and publish it, its corresponding site content type gets updated but the same content type used
in form library doesn't get updated properly. I went to form library and checked that erroneous content type, there were some columns missing and one column was mapped incorrectly. When I clicked on "Parent" content type, it was showing all the new Infopath
fields(updated content type). So I figured that Infopath site content type was getting updated correctly but it was not able to propagate those updates (in a correct way) to the form library. I also tried to edit that content type and tried adding existing
site columns which were missing but surprisingly it was not showing those site columns either, which were mapped from Infopath publishing.
The cause for this behavior is : changes/updates to the Infopath content type are not getting propagated to the form library and this is happening for only one infopath content type but other Infopath content types are getting updated.
I had to delete all the forms using that erroneous content type and then had to delete that content type from the library and then re-added that Infopath content type to the library and this time it was having correct content type (updated columns).
This is not a perfect solution for the production environment, sounds like it is a bug.

I need to know How to set the column order of a sealed column in a custom Content Type for the new item form NewDocSet.aspx?
I think this is a "sealed column", whatever that is, which is shown in SPD 2013 as a column of content type "document, folder, MyCustomContentType".
I know when I set the column order in my custom Content Type settings page, it is correct.
But, when I load the NewDocSet.aspx page, the column order that I set in the settings page is NOT used for this "sealed column" which is bad.
Can you help?

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to set the column order of a sealed column in a custom Content Type for the new item form NewDocSet.aspx.
Per my knowledge, if you have Content Type management enabled for the list or library (if you see a list of content type with the option to add more), the display order of columns is set for each content type.
Drill down into one of them and you'll see the option under the list of columns for that content type.
To apply the column order in the NewDocSet.aspx page, you need to:
Select Site Settings, under Site Collection Administration, click Content type publishing. In the Refresh All Published
Content Types section, choose Refresh all published content types on next
update.
Run two timer jobs(Content Type Hub, Content Type Subscriber) in central admin(Central Administration--> Monitoring--> Review timer jobs).

Assign new default forms to list causes other content types forms to fail.
I have a list with multiple content types and I want to modify the forms. I've created new forms but when I assign them as default and go back to the new item menu, no matter which item I select I get the new default form. If I set the
NewForm.aspx back as default everything works.
How can I modify for one content type and ensure the forms are not affected?
By modify I mean I want to put a hyperlink on one of the forms but not the other.Form libraries can be very painful if you can't foresee the direction that the form will be evolving over time. I've run into times when users have been using a form for months - years, and then a sudden change is needed (such as a change in calculations)
that they want to show ONLY in new forms, and the old calculations (for the same calculated fields) to show up in the old form, and you can't have 2 different versions of the same form working on a library unless you use content types.
You also, however, need to plan for columns and column types because of limitations around the number of Int columns or date/time columns, etc... that are allowed in a list. If you plan on using content types, I would say use a base content type (if
the content types will have the same fields) and then the fewer fields are different, the fewer columns are required on the library. In different content types, you can use different forms, and then you can make different calculations within the forms
for the same field (if that is ever a requirement).
Its best to plan this out ahead of time, because switching strategy after running for a while can create monstrous headaches. -
Creating custom form with content type list - Shaepoint 2013 list

I have a list with a content type. So basically i have the default content type and another custom one.
I would like to customize the forms and taught of using sharepoint designer.
Is this a good approach or is it better using infopath.
When i try using infopath i don't know how i can using content type to create forms.
I basically have 2 forms based on the content types how can i separate this when using custom forms and what would be the best practice?

According to your description, you want to create a form for each content type in a custom list with multiple content types. Is it right?
If we use Infopath to customize forms for a list with multiple content types, it only customizes the default content type, the forms for other content types don't have changes.
For your requirement, I suggest you use SharePoint Designer to create forms for content types.

How to programmatically publish an Infopath form to sharepoint form library
Hi all,
I am in trouble because i am trying to find out a solution in C# by which i can publish my infopath form (without any help of publishing wizard in InfoPath form).
For this i seen that when we publish it through the publishing wizard it creates a new form library on the sharepoint site and then publish the form in this form library, so as same i want to do this by code.
I have created a code which creates a form library on sharepoint site but i am unable to publish my infopath form in it because i didn't find any method for publish in C#.for this I searched on google(blogs and forums etc..).I have found only upload method
but i want publish method.

Deploying a Reusable Workflow to a List Content Type using PowerShell
We have a situation where deployment of a reusable workflow for a site content type cannot be completed through the web interface due to the number of libraries where the content type is in use (time-out on deploy and update).
It was hoped that this could be accomplished with PowerShell but the method of deploying to a list content type appears to be different than it is to a list (all content types).
The below snippet works fine for a list / all content types:

Submit Infopath form to a dynamic URL without code
I trying to submit an Infopath form to a Document set, the document set will be a different one for each instance of the form. How can the form be submitted to a dynamic location without using code behind? I am in SharePoint online and this is

If you want to submit an InfoPath form to different locations dynamically, there is no OOB approach without code, since submit option needs static URL value.
Here is a similar issue for your reference:

Without code, to submit form to different locations, you need to manually add submit rules per the Document Sets in your library, such as create a new column for Document sets name, then create submit rules to separately specify destination in submit options.
Here are the steps for your convenience:
1.Insert a text box named “field1” to type the names of the document sets in the InfoPath form.
2.Add a button to submit in the InfoPath form.
3.Add rules in the submit button: Add condition: “field1” is equal to “01”(the name of the document set in my environment) -> Add Submit Data in Run these actions field -> Add Data connection -> Type the URL of the document set “01” and type the
file name you want.
4.According to the different document sets you want to submit to, you could add more rules in the submit button to repeat the step 3.

Upload Excel data to Sharepoint list VIA infopath form
Hi,
I'll try to explain the process of what I want to do first.
1. In Excel
I have an exceldocument (XLS, XLSX or XLSM) with 4 named columns and a named worksheet saved locally on my computer.
I want to upload this data into preferably a custom list in sharepoint but it needs to run via a infopath template first.
2. In Infopath
The Infopath template will prompt the user to specify values in 2 additional fields.
After giving input to these fields user may browse for the locally stored excel document and upload the document.
In the same infopath template a dynamic array should be visible containing 6 columns (4 from excel + 2 from headerlevel of template) and the amount of rows based on the number of rows from excelsheet.
At the end of template a submit button is found for uploading the entire array into sharepoint custom list.
Is this possible to do at all?
NOTE! End user should not have to save the excelsheet as XML file nor do a XML mapping.
Infopath should, perhaps with help of VBA read excelsheet and transfer data to correct destination in sharepoint on it self.

You can attach your Excel doucment into InfoPath form and send InfoPath form to a custom web service. Then you can parse the Excel data and combine the Excel data and additional fields into SharePoint list in the customized web service.

Updating a secondary datasource to a Sharepoint list via infopath form rules
Using SharePoint 2010 and InfoPath 2010 I created a form that prior to submission it gets an integer value from a separate SharePoint list via a secondary datasource. Just before the rule that submits the form to a document folder via the
main datasource I increment the integer value and try to write it back to the secondary datasource I got it from. I know that I have the correct value. That is, it is reading from the data source the correct integer information and it is incrementing
it in the form but when it writes the value back to the same column in the same secondary datasource it doesn't give any indication that it didn't work. But when I look at the list of the secondary data source I see that the integer value is

Urgent: How to set content type on upload depending on target folder?
Hi,
i have to set the content type of a file uploaded via SMB depending on the folder the file is placed in. All files placed below a certain root directory have to be of my custom content type. All others should be stored as documents of type "Document". Is there an easy way to accomplish this task? I can't assume any specific file extensions and can therefore not register my custom content type to that extension.
Any hints are welcome.

+++ Those that aren't your custom content type move to a different folder using the agent.
I can't assume any specific file extensions and can therefore not register my custom content type to that extension.
+++I've found that registering content type only really affects things like how a browser knows what kind of file it's downloading/looking at (mime type) or how a renderer knows how to render it.

i have an 100 infopath forms, but next month all infopath forms certifications get expires.
For re-certification i want to re-publish all the infopath forms.
Now, is there any way to re-certification all the forms with out re-publish.
Thanks in advance!I think here is the simplest way I can think of.
1. Open Infopath library in windows explorer.
2. Renew all your certifications using this tool. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/library/8s9b9yaz(v=VS.80).aspx

Orphaned column in a content type

We have MMS and Content Type Hub created.
Initially we created a column and added it to a couple of content types in the Content Type Hub and published the content types.
Recently we deleted the column from one particular content type and republished the content type, but still we see the column in the content type in the subscribing site collections New and Old.
Have manually run the jobs "Content Type Hub" and "Content Type Subscriber"Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that the content type in the subscribing site collections don’t update immediately.
I recommend that you can try to check and test the things as below:
1. Go to “SharePoint 2013 Central Administration”, click on the “Application Management”, click on the “Manage Service Application”, select “Managed Metadata Service Application”, check the Managed metadata service connection properties to make
sure that the option “Consumes content types from Content Type gallery at <your correct Content Type Hub URL>” and “Push-down Content Type Publishing updates from the Content Type Gallery to sub-sites and lists using the content type” is enabled.
2. Go to “Site Settings”, click on the “Site content types”, select the particular content type, click on the “Manage publishing for this content type”, check the “Unpublish” button and click on the “OK” button, then you need to publish it again.
3. Go to “Site Settings”, click on the “Content Type Publishing” to check the “Refresh all published content types on next update” and the “the Content Type Publishing error log”.
4. Go to “Monitoring” in the “SharePoint 2013 Central Administration”, click on the “Review job definitions”, find the
“Content Type Hub” and “Content Type Subscriber” timer jobs to run again, and check if the two timer job’s status is succeeded.
