Potete suggerirmi un software, o Utilty che pulisca bene il Disco da file inutili e doppi? e che permetta di ricuperare spazio nel disco?
I need a suggestion for a software or a utility that really help me to clean the hard disk, and allow me to recuperate space in the disk?

Unable to deploy to Discoverer - OWB 10.2.0.2

Hi all,
I'm having problems deploying anything to Discoverer with OWB 10.2.0.2 (patched). I can test the BI Discoverer location successfully, there is an empty EUL in Discoverer and I can manually create Business Areas and Item folders. However, EVERY time I deploy from OWB, It get:
RPE-02150: Failed to connect with user DISEUL, password ***, connection null. Disco export file 11090.eex written to directory owb/deployed_files.
I've logged an SR, but Oracle support must be on vacation. Anyone else encounter this?
Interestingly enough, immediately after the error above, the deployment has SUCCESS for each item but the items are not in the EUL.
Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for the input. I did derive the objects and had successfully deployed them in development. This is using a separate configuration to deploy to production. I may try rederiving everything to see if that makes a difference. I've tried countless times deploying as things stand. I don't really want to blow away the BI objects and start over since I've done so much work on headings and discoverer names.

RPE-02150 - Deploy Intelligent Objects

Hi!
I had followed this tutorial, but I use OWB 11g.
I derived the end user metadata from my design. then I created a new user:eul_from_owb from Global Explorer->Security->User.
When I try to deploy the Intelligent Objects, I get a error:
"RPE-02150: Failed to connect with user EUL_FROM_OWB, password ***, connection null. Disco export file 4044.eex written to directory owb/deployed_files."
I use the same user password : eul_from_owb
Do I have to install OracleBI Discoverer Administrator to create EUL (eul_from_owb) ? I say that because in Global Explorer->Security->User, I can create DB user: eul_from_owb.

Apparently direct deployment does not work in OWB 11gR1, and the workaround is to take the generated EEX file and manually import into Discoverer Admin.
You can either take the generated file from
4044.eex written to directory owb/deployed_files
or generate the objects from the client and save the generated file there.

Error RPE-02150

I use OWB 11g, and when I tried to deployment Business Definitions toturial, appears this message:
"RPE-02150: Failed to connect with user EUL_FROM_OWB, password ***, connection null. Disco export file 6882.eex written to directory owb/deployed_files."
I'have more doubts, How can I connect Discoverer to that?
My database is in other machine,so I don't know if it is necessary to install Business Intelligence Administrator in database machine to create End User Layer (EUL) and also installing Business Intelligence Client in my computer to access it.

I already installed the Oracle Discoverer Administration (ODA) in my machine. To import file .eex through ODA, it's necessary to connect to database. Inside dialog box of ODA has the connection information:

So, I try to establish a connection to database is in other machine, however it doesn't work. Shoull I modify a tnsnames.ora?

Deploying Business Definition error: RPE-02150: Failed to connect

During deploying a business definition module, I encountered an error message like this: "RPE-02150: Failed to connect with user EUL_FROM_OWB, password ***, connection null. Disco export file 2230.eex written to directory owb/deployed_files."
I have 10.2 as the database, OWB R2, and OracleBI Discoverer 10g (10.1.2.2).
In fact, I did not have problem previously when I was using database 10.1.

I hope this will find you in good faith...
I have tried a workaround on this issue and it worked fantastically.
The error message in Control Centre will generate an .eex file.
Before you deploy your objects make sure you've selected the Business Area and the Items you want to deploy, and then deploy.
Once done, locate your eex file and manually import this file via Oracle Discoverer Administrator.

On which version of Java are you running this? And using what development tools?
It seems that you have are running this code on a framework that is running on top of a version 1.3 implementation of the API. The javax.imageio API internally uses java.nio, both introduced to Java in version 1.4. The framework tries to load your class, notices that it needs a class from java.nio and tries to load it. But because you are running on an earlier version, the java.nio API wasn't loaded by the system class loader (I'm not 100% sure of the mechanics here but when the virtual machine starts it loads or at least makes a list of some kind of the classes in rt.jar). So the framework attempts to load java.nio through the URLClassLoader it uses, but it fails horribly since package names that start with "java." are prohibited due to security.

ok, i have a few problems
1)
i have no idea what happened, but, when i call this function:

now, however, the program just waits until there is an string ready to be read.
i could use if(br.ready()), but then i will never get a SocketException in the first catch statement, and i want this fucntion to return "rm" when a socketexception occurs, so i know to remove this socket from my connection list (Socket.close() will not work when a client simpy closes the program or kills the process, they have to disconnect the "right" way for Socket.close() to work).
from what i can tell, i have changed nothing, and it no longer works

RPE-02150: Failed to connect with user... when deploying location

Hello.
I've created cube and 3 dimentions in OWB 10.2, then derived them to make business definition for Discoverer 10.1.
When I try to deploy this business definition, I get error "RPE-02150: Failed to connect with user xxx, password ***, connection null. Disco export file 5039.eex written to directory owb/deployed_files." The error appears at deploying location step. What feature is that?

Hi,
same situation, same behaviour. I've seen, that the location for the discoverer could only be of type 10.1 database in the lov of the location form. But the database is 10.2. Perhaps that might be the problem.
Do you have any other suggestions?

Cannot Open Excel File after exporting from Disco Plus

Hi there,
I got a question from one user having issue with opening Excel file after exporting from Disco Plus.
The report has been using for a while and he is using Excel 2003 version and Discoverer 10g(10.1.2.2), he never got this kind of error before, just recently got error.
After exporting from Disco Plus he saved file on his desktop and when he tries to open the excel it says "Cannot be Accessed, can be corrupted...." but this is not from network drive since he saved file on local desktop or C drive.
Also not for all reports, only this particular report and only specific parameter, for example for parameter 2008 Feb opened successfully, but for2009 Feb he gets this error when trying to open excel.
i tried in excel 2007 also , i dont think this is Excel version error, am not sure.
Also after go live last week (we upgraded database from 9i to 10g) but i am not sure this causes ,since for one parameter working, for other parameter not working.
Actually we should get one window for Macro when we try to open excel, but he is not getting it seems.
Any ideas/thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your quick response on this.
Yes, we can export to other formats as well, but actually exporting is working, after saving the file on our local desktop/drive and when we try to open we get this kind messages or we cannot open the file, we should get message window for Macro to enable/disable but for this report we are not getting this either,
Also this happens only for specific parameters,like i mentioned above it works I mean excel file opens for one set of parameters but for some other set of parameters cannot open.
For example :- when we enter FEB 2008 it works, if we enter FEB 2009 it won't open the file.
This is weird
I am still working on this issue, may be better to recreate the report again might be helpful,
Any ideas/comments/thoughts would be great

Correct values for DefaultExportPath option in Disco pref.txt file

I am trying to edit the "DefaultExportPath" parameter in Disco pref.txt file file. We are using Discoverer Plus and Viewer on CP4 and are using JVM1.5 or higher.
I referred to Metalink Doc Id: 365245.1 and Oracle Configuration Guide doc B13918_03.
I am interested in making the local system desktop as the default export location for all the users with no exceptions.
Tried to edit the parameter values to
DefaultExportPath = "C:\Documents and Settings\<Windows user name>\Desktop"
but it didn't work.
Also came across Metalink Doc Id: 438598.1 which talks about changing individual systems "deployment.properties" file which I don’t want to get into. It’s too much of over head.
I am looking for some pointer so that we can edit the pref.txt file to change the default location to the desktop universally across all the users.
Any help is appreciated.

Just one more dumb questions. Is there an automated way of changing these properties. Physically changing them would be vey tough since quiet a few of our users work remotely.

Yesterday I made the last test and then I got bored! I put in the boot disk of Leopard (not the snow) I launched Disk Utility (11.1) I created the image and it worked perfectly!

Bhe per formattare vai in /appication/utiliy/utility disco.app e c'è la scheda inizializza, per usarlo in un macbook devi formattarlo in macos jornaled.
per salvare i tuoi dati puoi salvarli su un altro hd prima di formattare oppure prova carbon copy cloner un app gratuita che copia gli hd in immagine disco o su un altro hd

Non riesco ad aprire itunes sul computer, mi viene questa scritta:"IL file itunes library è protetto, su un disco protetto oppure non hai accesso in scrittura su questo file", forse ho fatto qualche manovra sbagliata chi mi può consigliare come risolver

Forse ho errato qualche manovra con itunes, non mi si apre + sul computer, sul telefono invece si.

If he is the owner of the workbook then yes, if he takes one of your report and make changes, then save it will give a new identifier to the workbook.
In 10g the name of the workbook contains the owner name :
"name".""workbook name"
BTW no one else will be able to see it unless he will share the new report.
Any way it a different workbook.
