Pulling in external HTTP views

Greetings allGreetings all, I am new to Flex, so please
forgive me if this is a silly question. I am attempting to
implement a view which pulls in an external HTTP web page (the web
page is hosted in a separate app server and is independent of Flex,
such as www.google.com). I want this to be one component in a
multi-component Flex application. I can not figure out how to do
this. I tried using a TextArea and feeding the data to the httpData
field, but that didn’t work. I tried using
“navigateToURL” but it redirects the entire app to the
URL. Can someone please give me some hints as to how to accomplish
this (an example would be excellent)

Sorry, you can't do this simply. The Flash Player cannot
parse/render a full html page. The htmlText control can render a
very limited set of HTML tags.
The only real solution is to fake it using a IFRAME to
display the HTML page. There is a very complete example available

Anyone configure an external Log4j viewer such as Chainsaw with Oracle BPEL Process Manager? I've reviewed C:\OraBPELPM\system\config\log4j-config.xml and it looks like it would be done there but I'm not sure how to align the xml tags there with the instructions with Chainsaw, those being:
"You will need to configure Log4J to send logging events to Chainsaw and a file. Here is a sample log4j.properties file for sending logging events to a file in XML format and Chainsaw.

Here's what I'm trying, I've created two new appenders named a3 and a4 with all of their params, and added each appender to each of the logger statements so that each now has a1, a2, a3 and a4.

How to specify a variable in the path prefix of an External HTTP (RFC) connection (in transaction SM59)

Please can someone tell me how to specify a variable in the path prefix of an External HTTP (RFC) connection in transaction SM59?
For example if my path prefix is /invoke/test/example?input=XYZ; how do I replace "XYZ" with a variable so that I can pass in any value after "=" ?

External Monitor Viewing - ALL FRAMES Unchecked

Hello FCP gurus
I cannot get a video signal on my external monitor.
For some reason I have lost the ability to check the ALL FRAMES option in the View Menu under External Video. Each time I click ALL FRAMES it stays in the OFF mode. I think this may be the reason for the external picture loss? I have also just relocated my edit suite so somewhere in the move I might have upset the 'workflow'. Not sure, can't see why? Before today I was getting an external picture no problem.
The configuration I have is: A Firewire connection from the Hard Drive to a DV Cam (PD150). RCA Vid connector from the cam into a domestic TV.
I have followed all of Shane's #8 Stock Answer and still nudda!!
Can anyone help?

A simple path is mac > firewire > camera or deck > rca cables > tv
Then start up your camera and tv, then open fcp.
Then go View > External video > all frames
Video playback should be Apple firewire NTSC (If you are using an NTSC set)
Audio playback should be Audio follows Video
Techinially, this should send synched video to your TV
If for some reason you can't view your timeline on your external monitor, there are a few things to try:
1) Make sure that the camera/deck is connected and powered on BEFORE you open FCP.
2) In the Final Cut Pro menu select AUDIO/VIDEO Preferences and make sure your signal is being sent out thru Firewire DV.
3) Go to the menu and select VIEW>EXTERNAL>ALL FRAMES.
4) Click in the % box above the image and select FIT TO WINDOW.
5) Go to VIEW->refresh A/V devices
6) Make sure the Log & Capture window is closed
If you want it to play in both the canvas and the external monitor you need to go to the FINAL CUT PRO menu and select AUDIO/VIDIO settings and make sure MIRROR ON DESKTOP is selected under the PLAYBACK OUTPUT section

Heck, I don't know, but reading your question helped me to finally figure out how to get my external monitor working.
Would it be okay to add to your question. Now that I have mine working the audio goes through the monitor instead of my nice Cerwin-Veg speakers. Is there a way to fix that?
P.S. Have you tried a power down, hooking up the monitor and then coming back up?

Employee Photo - External HTTP service

Hi all,
currently I trying to setup the Employee photo dysplay in the portal Iview photo and in PA20/30 transaction. My problem is that I have the requirement to use an external http service that doesn't supports SAP Content Server HTTP Interface and it requires Basic authentication.
The access to the picture can be done by a direct url http://hostname/path/pernr.jpg ou using a dll service, http://hostname/path/service.dll?docid=pernr.
Does anyone ever face a similar problem, is there a way to implement this using "standard" features?
For example put the access logic to the picture in a function module or other object, and setup the z* object has the content server implementation.

Where are you trying to store the photos? In an external storage system or in the database?
If you are using an external storage system, please note that you must use either a different content server installation for each system, or at least a different content repository.
In case you are using the database storage, then make sure you have followed all the instructions from the note 595563 to do this. In case everything is fine, please go to OAC0 and test the connection to your content repository.
Additionaly please ensure that you have the lastest version of SAPHTTP installed on your system. Please review the SAP note 615354 for more information on this.

How did you solve it? In my case i receive non empty response from the WS call in the SE80 with the test service consumer but not from Abap.

My Scenario-
A Flat file (non-xml but structured) sitting on an external https enabled web server. I need XI to go out and get this file on a regular basis (which will then be processed laterby the business person)

Hi,
The FTP Adapter will do the job for you. Just create a File Communication Channel and change Transport Protocol to FTP. Since you mentioned that the file is non-xml, in the Message Protocol, choose, File Content Conversion.

Force Logical Block size for HDD pulled from external enclourse

So I pulled a 3tb hitachi drive from an external enclourse, and the usb-to-sata board in the enclourse forced a logical sector size of 4K for the drive. But connecting directly to the drive exposes the logical sector size to 512 bytes. Resulting in me being unable to mount the partition. So what I am asking is, is there a way to force the logical sector size for a drive to be different than the drive exposes or am I going to have to move everything off the drive and reformat it?

Hi ebrian,
You can't perform a migration from Linux to Windows in that manner with 9i.The plan can be changed to migrate from 9.2.0.4 to 10g and than move from 32-bit Linux to 32-bit Windows.
It should not matter the end result for the OP is the same 10g on 32 bit windows.
It just depends on what technoly the OP wants to use (export/import or rman convert).

External monitor view looks stretched

Over the weekend, I ventured into the world of Mac ownership with a new macbook pro. At my office, I've connected it to a 23" external monitor just to make it easier on my eyes. When I first set it up last night, the view on the external monitor looked stretched or a like blown up version of what's on my computer screen. (FTR, I have mirror display turned on because I'm keeping the macbook on a shelf under my desk and just want to work from the one screen.) I messed with the resolution size of the external monitor but that didn't fix the problem.
Today, when I came in and hooked everything up, the screen looked like how I originally expected it to look - not stretched or any of that junk. Just very crisp and clean - exactly the way I wanted it. Then a bit ago, I tried to mess with clamshell mode and for some reason, that made the external monitor go back to being stretched. I've tried restarting several times and unplugging the DVI->mini display port converter but it's not fixing it.
I have no idea what I did right this morning, but can anyone help me? It's a stupid problem, for sure but it's annoying staring at this stretched screen.

Try this instead, hit CMD F1 to place the monitor in extended desktop mode, It should look good again.
Go to System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement tab > notice the grey "menubar" at the top of the left display. Move it to your other monitor display. This will control which monitor has the dock and menubar. If the external monitor is not available, it moves back to the MBpro.

HTTP Viewer - component

I used a JEditorPane Component to view the Html pages from server but the server side uses JavaScript elements and the JEditor, from my experience does not allow to dotaht. Do anyone know such component whicz could do that ?? Why the JEditor pane formats the data in wrong way ?? could i open a real web browser in my applet window?? (a browser inside browser??

I have Mac Pro Xenon Processor, upgraded to 24GB RAM, I'm trying to playback HD footage from FCP 6.0.5 through Intensity Blackmagic Pro Video card using HDMI into a Sharp HDTV. HOWEVER, when I scrub, I see my footage, when I play, I see nothing...help?

Access external database views on different tablespace

Hi everybody,
I'm trying to access a external Oracle database (dbcon entry is set successfully) and read data from a view wich does not belong to my schema. In other IDEs the statement is simple:
select *
from schema.view
In ABAP the code looks like this:
SELECT *
FROM ('schema.view').
But ABAP splits this literal into two pieces and so I get an error message view does not exist.
Any idea how to correct the FROM part?
For your information. I tried to link the view on the oracle database over a synonym to access the view in the other schema. Normally this works fine, but synonyms will not be publicated to SAP so I can't read the data furthermore.

Instead of accessing the views on an different schema I created my own views.

Using MS Access to Pull Up the Report Viewer - Crystal Reports 2008

We recently purchased Crystal Reports 2008 Developer so that we can create standardized and feature rich reporting solutions for our company. Many of our current applications are developed in MS Access XP. It has been quite some time since I have worked in Crystal Report and it seems a lot has changed.
One thing I remember is that there was an ActiveX control that could be added to an Access application, giving the application the ability to pull up a report in a separatre Crystal Viewer. I am having difficulties is finding an object in Access for Cyrstal Reports 2008 (Crystal 12) for the Report Viewer. Is there still such an ActiveX object available for MS Access applications?

Now my problem is getting the crpe32.dll registered. I keep getting an error and the CrystalVCL example application fails due to not beign able to fnd the correct version.
You'll have to treat me like I'm stupid on this one. I usually work in the over simplified Access application "development". So dealing with any real object oriented environment and any complex dll registering is a bit beyond me at this point. But I'm learning.
I have two crpe32.dll's on my computer one is in C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86
And another is in C:\Program Files\Common Files\BusinessObjects\3.0\bin
I have tried registering both of these and neither one will work. So, maybe that means that the're not supposed to be registered through regsvr32?

Capture External HTTP POST Into APEX Page Item

We have an APEX page that needs to capture into page items two form fields posted from an external application: PARAM1 and PARAM2.
Unfortunately the external application cannot be changed and we tried to add the two posted fields as APEX page items with the same name, yet we get back an exception:
f: SIGNATURE (parameter names) MISMATCH
VARIABLES IN FORM NOT IN PROCEDURE: PARAM1,PARAM2
NON-DEFAULT VARIABLES IN PROCEDURE NOT IN FORM:

You could do this with an intermediate non Apex page (.html for example) that receives the params and the calls apex.
Or even better with a procedure that gets called by the external post:
procedure myForm (param1 in varchar2, param2 in varchar2)
is
begin
f(p=>'app:1:0::::P1_PARAM1,P1_PARAM2:' || param1 || ',' || param2);
end;
Then you grant execute on myForm to apex_public_user
change app to your app number or alias and use the right page or item name. But you'll want the parameters to match the names posted.

The new myForm procedure can be called with the same path as the f procedure in APEX. So if you're APEX URL is something like:
https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=...
Then you can use:
https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/myForm
And with parameters:
https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/myForm?param1=value1&param2=value2
