Pulling specific attributes to an outfile via Powershell

I am trying to export a list of our users with all the following attributes.  I have been searching for hours and cant find anything that is exactly what I need and when I try to "blend" the PS together it is  justan  epic fail.
I am trying to create and outfile with separate colums and the following information.  Any help would be appreciated.
Name
pre-windows 2000 logon name
description
exchange alias
user logon name
employee id
Thanks
Cheston

Hi,
Give this a try:
Get-ADUser -Filter * -Properties Description,MailNickname,EmployeeID | ForEach {
$props = @{
Name = $_.Name
SamAccountName = $_.SamAccountName
Description = $_.Description
'Exchange Alias' = $_.MailNickname
UPN = $_.UserPrincipalName
EmployeeID = $_.EmployeeID
New-Object PsObject -Property $props
} | Sort-Object Name | Export-Csv .\userDetails.csv -NoTypeInformation

  • Is update not approved for a specific group via powershell.

    My apologies in advance for asking a similar question to the one I asked two months ago,
    is update approved for specific group via powershell? I thought I had this covered, but as I've found time to continue to work on this project I see that it does not.
    I have a script that iterates through updates and if the release date is older than 30 days and they have not already been “Approved for Install” or “Approved for Removal” for a specific group it approves them. I am currently faced with the dilemma that
    when an update is set to “Not Approved” for the specific group I’m working on it does not come across in my group’s approvals and there for I cannot detect its current state to know if I should approve it. In other words, I don’t want to approve an update
    that I set to not approved for a specific group.
    I am currently achieving all this so far by connecting to my WSUS server and getting any and all updates via $all = $wsus.GetUpdates(). I Then get my group’s approved updates via $groupApproved = $wsus.GetUpdateApprovals($GroupScope) where ApprovedStates
    = "Any" and ApprovedComputerTargetGroups.Add($current_wsus_group). While iterating through $all I grab updates that are older than 30 days and check to see if the updateID exists in my $groupApproved. If it does not, I approve the update. Like I
    said before, an explicitly unapproved update for my group does not show up in my $groupApproved. I understand it’s because of my GetUpdateApprovals($GroupScope) being just that and only getting approved for install or uninstall, but even when I try to simply
    GetUpdates($GroupScope) I am still not returned explicitly unapproved updates. Below is a screen shot of what I mean by explicitly setting an update to unapproved for a group. I’ve read up on
    ApprovedStates and possible enumerated values and it does include "NotApproved" defined as "Includes updates that have not been approved or declined.".
    Hope all that makes sense, thanks for the help.

    So, I've decided to go about this a different way. Rather than getting all updates and comparing them to approvals via a scope of updates for my specific group (which includes all actions but Not Approved), I am going to look at specific approvals for each
    update and see if there is a match for my group. A simplfied version of this is below.
    $AnyAllUpdates = $wsus.GetUpdates()
    foreach ($udpate in $AnyAllUpdates)
    if ($update IsNOTDeclined IsNOTSuperseded LegacyNameNOTIA64 CreationDateLTDATE yada yada yada)
    # get the approvals for this udpate as they relate to my group
    $uApprovals = $update.GetUpdateApprovals() | ?{$_.ComputerTargetGroupId -eq $wsus_group.Id}
    if ($uApprovals)
    if ($uApprovals.action -eq "Install")
    # do nothing, the udpate was approved for install
    elseif ($uApprovals.action -eq "Uninstall")
    # do nothing, the update was approved for uninstall
    elseif ($uApprovals.action -eq "NotApproved")
    # do nothing, the udpate was not approved for install
    else
    # since there was no specific action then it must be an inherited not approved from teh parent group
    # approve the update!

  • Server 2012 R2: How do I set VLAN data for the Host Virtual Switch (via PowerShell)?

    I need to modify the Host (NOT the VM's) VMSwitch VLAN settings via Powershell for automation purposes.
    In Server 2012 (NOT R2), this can be done via modifying
    MSVM_VLANEndPointSettingData
    However, it seems in Server 2012 R2, that class is gone. I've manually searched through the MSVM classes, and it seems that the Host VMSWitch VLAN settings are stored
    in MSVM_EthernetSwitchPortVlanSettingData. Unfortunately, I have no way of tying that class to a specific VMSwitch.
    Any know how to do this on Server 2012 R2?

  • How to know via PowerShell "did user install office on his computer with office 365 or not"

    Hello. Sorry for my english.
    Subject: How to know via PowerShell "did user install office on his computer with office 365 or not"
    I set to users Office 365 ProPlus license, that allows a user to install Office on up to five computers. I want to know, user use this opportunity or not, install office or not.
    User can view his installation in the Office 365 portal:
    But how I (like admin Office365) can view this information? Maybe via PowerShell?
    Thank you...

    Hi,
    Please see the
    blog, I copied the part of here:
    ====
    Viewing a list of Office 365 ProPlus installations
    A user can see which computers she has installed Office on by signing in to the Office 365 Portal and going to the
    software page.
    Only the signed in user can see this information.  Even if you are the administrator for your organization's Office 365 subscription, you can't see this information in any of your Office 365 administrative views. This also means you can't deactivate
    a user's installation of Office on a specific computer. More on deactivation in a bit.
    ====
    If you have further question about Office 365, I recommend you post the question to Office 365 forum:

  • Can you add delegate access to a user's calendar or mailbox folder via powershell?

    Basically I want to know if you can grant a user delegate access to another user's calendar or meeting room using native  powershell commands?
    I know you can do this via method 1, listed below, however when you grant permissions in this way and if a user wants to see who has delegate access to their calendar or inbox by going to delegate access in outlook they will not see user's who have access
    to their calendar or inbox.
    Method 1:
    Add-MailboxFolderPermission -Identity "userA:\Calendar" -User UserB -AccessRights editor
    The above is a nice and simple way of granting userB EDITOR access to UserA's calendar.
    But as stated above as you are using mailboxFolderPermissions and not DelegateAccess, this applies directly to this folder and if userA goes to their delegate access view in Outlook, they will not see that userB has access to their calendar.
    I know that you can use the below commands to see a list of user's who have delegate access to you calendar:
    Get-Mailbox userA | Get-CalendarProcessing | select resourcedelegates
    I am new to powershell and don't know if there is a way of setting delegate access to a user's calendar or inbox/folder via powershell commands, similar to the above.
    Any help with this query would be much appreciated!
    thanks

    Delegate access is simply a combination of folder rights (which you've described) and Send As right, which is conferred by Add-MailboxPermission or Send On Behalf of right, which I'm not sure if you can confer with PowerShell. Set-CalendarProesssing applies
    to resource mailboxes like conference rooms, not to user mailboxes.
    Update: "Send on Behalf of" is conferred this way:
    Set-Mailbox UserMailbox -GrantSendOnBehalfTo UserWhoSends

  • How to Add Multiple Driver Packages Using Reference File via PowerShell

    Hey All -
    I've got a task I'm working on which would be much easier via PowerShell.  I tried figuring it out, but couldn't so thought I'd post.
    The Task
    I need to create about 50 new, empty driver packages (most are in the same folder in the console) and am trying to find a method of doing so where I may use a source text file / csv file as reference in the command line.  Each package has a unique name
    and source path.  Here are examples:
    - Latitude E5440 Win7 x86 [A01]   \\server\drivers\5440x86
    - Latitude E5440 Win7 x64 [A01]   \\server\drivers\5440x64
    The Structure
    All of the ones I want to add via PowerShell will go into the same folder in the console.  They will be in the folder "root\New Drivers\Dell CAB Drivers"
    Any ideas or will this just take more time than it's worth for 50?  Thanks!
    Ben K.

    Also, the creation of the driver package won't be your biggest challenge, as it's as simple as New-CMDriverPackage (see:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj821724(v=sc.20).aspx).
    The biggest challenge is relating your models to a share name (unless they're all Latitude).

  • How to bind a specific attribute of an element to an input field

    HI,
    in my web shop application I create an overview page of the items dynamically in the wdDoModify Method. Each item has it's own transparent container. I do not use tables or row repeaters, because they did not fullfill my requirements.
    Now I have the problem to bind a specific attribute to an input field.
    I bind the value with following code:
    amountInput.bindValue(item.getAttributePointer("amount").getAttributeInfo())
    item is the element of the item to display. amount is the attribute with type integer.
    The problem is, that I have 4 Items on the screen. When I enter a value for amount, all amounts on the screen are the same. So I guess that the input field is not bound to the correct element.
    Has anybody an idea what I have done wrong? Or which string for bindValue do I have to use for example for an attribute of the 5th element in a node?
    Best regards,
    Peter

    Peter, you can set the context node to mutiple select, but you have to select it on item variable, like:
    item = wdContext.nodeXXX.getElementAt(1);
    amountInput.bindValue(item.getAttributePointer("amount").getAttributeInfo())
    item = wdContext.nodeXXX.getElementAt(2);
    amountInput2.bindValue(item.getAttributePointer("amount").getAttributeInfo())

  • Multi-Message-split with ABAP mapping and adapter specific attributes

    Hi all,
    With <b>ABAP-Mapping I split 1 message to n messages</b>.
    So many files are generated in <b>file-Adapter</b>.
    Everything fine.
    But now I want the file names different using adapter specific attributes.
    It is not possible to use variable substitution and write the file name in payload because of receiver restrictions.
    I tried this with following similar coding in ABAP-Mapping:
    data: lt_records TYPE MPP_DYNAMIC_TAB.
          Loop.
          l_file_name = "payload-Inbound"-information
          ls_record-namespace = 'http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File'.
          ls_record-name = 'FileName'.
          ls_record-value = l_file_name.  "l_file_name comes from inbound-payload
          append ls_record to lt_records.
         Endloop.
      CALL METHOD dynamic_configuration->set_all_records
        EXPORTING
          records = lt_records.
    If I start the interface I see in the monitoring the dynamic configuration with many entries for file-name in the the SOAP-Header mapping of the request message (following extract):
      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
    - <!--  Mapping der Request-Message
      -->
    - <SAP:DynamicConfiguration xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="1">
      <SAP:Record namespace="http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File" name="FileName">BPAADDRESS.XML</SAP:Record>
      <SAP:Record namespace="http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File" name="FileName">BPABROKERROLE.XML</SAP:Record>
      <SAP:Record namespace="http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File" name="FileName">BPACOMPANYSEGMENT.XML</SAP:Record>
      <SAP:Record namespace="http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File" name="FileName">BPACUSTOMERROLE.XML</SAP:Record>
    The result is that <b>all files have the same file name</b> (last entry in dynamic configuration).
    Is it possible to write the adapter specific configuration in ABAP-mapping <u>for every single result message</u>??
    Thank you for your help,
    Florian

    Hi Florian,
    I've a different idea...I dont think its a "right solution" but just another work around..it involves a BPM...
    In your ABAP mapping..set the dynamic config with as many variables as number of different messages...i.e. use the variables like 'FileName1', 'FileName2'...'FileName6' instead of 'FileName'. But use the same namespace 'http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File'
    Call the above mapping in a BPM and capture the individual messages and set the attribute 'FileName' from the values of 'FileName1' to 'FileName6' accordingly using Message Mapping and then send the message using the 'Send' step.
    before you try this, try using the variable names 'FileName1' ...'FileName6' in the receiver adapters...enable the ASMS. <b>I know we need to select which variables from the dynamic config to be used by the adapter by specifically selecting 'FileName', 'Directory' etc...but just give it a try and see if it works..</b>
    Or..instead of using a BPM..you can combine Henrique's idea...use Adapter module to set the value for 'FileName' from variables 'FileName1'...'FileName6' accordingly.
    hope I'm clear..lemme know if you have any questions..
    cheers

  • Adapter specific attributes - SOAP Adapter

    Hi,
    I am trying to use the adapter specific attributes of the receiver SOAP adapter. But I am not able to view the Dynamic configurations in sxi_monitor corresponding to this message. Any clue why!?
    I read through the SOAP adapter help on help.sap.com,
    <i>http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/69/a6fb3fea9df028e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm</i>
    Here it says:
    <i>If you want to use header fields, set the relevant indicator for Variable Header. The technical names for the fields are XHeaderName1, XHeaderName2, XHeaderName3. The parameters are embedded in the HTTP request under the names you enter here.</i>
    But I donot find an option where I can enter the names. Am I missing something here?
    Regards,
    Smitha.

    Hi Smitha,
    I did not try to use adapter-specific attributes with SOAP-adapter, but with mail-adapter. The documentation is quite similar, so I excpect similar results...
    So as far as I understood, the parameters XHeaderName1, ... etc are for dynamic extension of the set of adapter-specific attributes. For example, if you want to add some more information in the message header, you can program an adapter module and you have now a guide how to name the additional attributes.
    Usually, the "standard" adapter-specific attributes are starting with "S" (Sender) or "T" (Receiver). You can find the names in the documentation of the SOAP-adapter.
    In order to use the adapter-specific attributes, you have to check both indicators (adapter-specific attributes, variable transport binding). If this still doesn't work, you should use OSS. In my scenario (mail adapter) this didn't work, too. The reason was, that there was a bug in the adapter metadata (Integration Repository) of SAP BASIS. There was a SAP note, where I could download the correct adapter metadata. Maybe you can find a SAP note for the SOAP Adapter.
    Although this is probably not the final solution, I hope this guides you a step further.

  • How to determine the database mirroring role via Powershell?

    Is there a way to determine the current mirroring role of a database via Powershell without the use of t-sql?
    With the Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo namespace and database class I can determine the status, witness and partner of the mirrored database, but I can't determine the mirroring role of the current database. I basically want to get the same result
    as the following t-sql query in powershell without using t-sql:
    SELECT m.mirroring_role_desc
    FROM   sys.database_mirroring m JOIN sys.databases d
    ON     m.database_id = d.database_id
    WHERE  d.name = 'databasename'
    I find it very strange that there is no class property to check for this, while it is an important property of the database. Of course I can use the output of this query in my powershell script for further processing, but I still hope that there is a property
    where I can get this information.
    TheSultan8

    Just to let you know, I've already found it. Here is a part of the code that I use for checking each mirrored database what mirroring role it has:
    $sqlconnection="MYLAPTOP\SQL2008R2"
    $smo = New-Object ('Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.Server') $sqlconnection
    $mirroreddbs=$smo.Databases | where {$_.IsMirroringEnabled -eq "True"}
    $sqlversionmajor=$smo.VersionMajor
    foreach ($database in $mirroreddbs)
    # Versions lower than SQL 2008 can't query a database in recovery mode
    if ($sqlversionmajor -ge 10)
    $dbrolevalue=$database.DatabaseOptions.Properties | where {$_.Name -eq "MirroringRole"}
    $dbrole=$dbrolevalue.Value
    One catch though, this only works on SQL 2008 and higher version.

    Part 2: Install and configure Windows Server Essentials Experience role remotely
    In an existing domain environment
    In an existing domain environment, please use following command to provide credential and then add Server Essentials Role: (Figure 13)
    Add-WindowsFeature -Name ServerEssentialsRole
    -ComputerName xxx -Credential DomainName\DomainAccount
    Figure 13.
    After you enter the credential, it will start install Windows Server Essentials role on your computer. (Figure 14)
    Figure 14.
    After the installation completes, it will return the result as below:
    Figure 15.
    Next, please use the
    Enter-PSSession
    cmdlet and provide the correct credential to start an interactive session with a remote computer. You can use the commands below:
    Enter-PSSession –ComputerName
    xxx –Credential DomainName\DomainAccount (Figure 16)
    Figure 16.
    Then, please configure Server Essentials Role via
    Add-WssConfigurationService cmdlet and it also needs to provide correct credential. (Figure 17)
    Figure 17.
    After your credential is accepted, it will update and prepare your server. (Figure 18)
    Figure 18.
    After that, please type “Y” to continue to configure Windows Server Essentials. (Figure 19)
    Figure 19.
    2. In a non-domain environment
    In my test environment, I set up two computers running Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard and use Server1 as a target computer. The IP addresses for the two computers are as
    below:
    Sevrer1: 192.168.1.54
    Server2: 192.168.1.53
    Run
    Enable-PSRemoting –Force on Server1. (Figure 20)
    Figure 20.
    Since there is no existing domain, it is necessary to add the target computer (Server1) to a TrustedHosts list (maintained by WinRM) on Server 2. We can use following command
    to
    add the TrustedHosts entry:
    Set-Item WSMan:\localhost\Client\TrustedHosts IP-Address
    (Figure 21)
    Figure 21.
    Next, we can use
    Enter-PSSession
    cmdlet and provide the correct credential to start an interactive session with the remote computer. (Figure 22)
    Figure 22.

    Figure 23.
    From figure 24, we can see that the installation is completed.
    Figure 24.
    Then you can use
    Start-WssConfigurationService cmdlet to configure Essentials Role and follow the steps in the first part (configure Windows Server Essentials Experience in a non-domain environment) as the steps would be the same.
    The figure below shows the status of Windows Server Essentials.
    Figure
    25.
    Finally, we have successfully configured Windows Server Essentials on Server1. (Figure 26)

  • Removing rights to a mailbox via powershell issues

    I am trying to remove 2 rights to a mailbox via powershell.  the command I am running doesn't seem to work though.
    There are 2 service accounts that seem to have a deny setting on the mailbox; as shown in the screenshot.  user column is in
    Domain\User format.
    I am trying to remove these because I believe it is causing an integration issue between Cisco Unified messaging and outlook. (New voicemails do not show up in the inbox for this one user, even though tests from Cisco UM are ok.)
    Running this command doesn't seem to remove the entries I need:
    remove-MailboxPermission -Identity <USER ALIAS> -User
    <SERVICE ACCOUNT> -AccessRights FullAccess -InheritanceType all

    Hi BriGy,
    Base on my search, if you want to remove these service account permission, you need to remove from organizational level, not mailbox level.
    Please refer to the following thread, it may give you some hints:

  • Using Adapter-specific attributes in Mail adapter

    Hi,
    I try to use adapter-specific attributes in my Mail adapter. I set the "Use Adapter-Specific Message Attributes" indicator, but I do not get a result in the mapping and also in the SXMB_MONI the attributes are not visible.

    The values for the parameters, set using adapter specific message attributes are available at runtime in the path http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/Mail.
    We need to write UDF's that can extract the values from this path.
    For Ex:
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters() .get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create(
        “http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File”,
        “FileName”);
    String valueOld = conf.get(key);
    if (valueOld != null) {
        String valueNew = valueOld.replaceAll(“input”,”output”);
        conf.put(key, valueNew);
    If you check Dynamic configuration in sxmb_moni, you would be able to find the values for all the attributes that have been set in the adapter.
    Regards,
    Smitha.

    Yes. I do it using Adobe Reader for PDF files, Pages for Word files, I can copy from Safari or iCab Mobile and paste into another app. I use my finger even though I do have a stylus. I rarely use my stylus anymore, but yes it's possible.
