Purchased items showing up in the cloud

I don't use icloud but since downloading a newer version of itunes all my purchased media is showing up with the little cloud icon in the corner, which i'm guessing means the item is in the cloud.  Is there a way to stop this happening as I have no intention of using cloud and it is a lil bit annoying

Were you perhaps using a mix of "managed" photos (copied into your iPhoto library) and "referenced" photos (kept only external to your library)? Only "managed" are eligible to be in iClout Photo Library.
I added some pictures yesterday to my Mac that I had taken, but they do not show up on any of my other devices. What is wrong?
Did you add them to your iPhoto library (using iPhoto) or your Photos library (using the new Photos application)? If with the Photos app, did you have the "Copy items to the Photos library" option checked in Photos > Preferences > General?

although i had this before, it dissaperard last week and i cant seem to get it back
    Regards

    Hi Renergade,
I have also recently acquired this issue, and here is how I resolved it: Sign out of iTunes by click the "Store" link in the menu bar and signing out completely. Restart iTunes and sign back in. The option should now appear within the "Store" section of the iTunes Preferences menu.
This has happened to me a few times, and I think it has something to do with using multiple Apple IDs on one computer for different things as I do. Either way, I plan on researching to see what causes it.
Let me know if this works for you.
    Best of luck!

You should be able to copy it from your iPhone to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, and if it's compatible with your iPad you can then sync it to it

  • Show itunes in the cloud purchases won't stay checked

For months now, when I open iTunes the option "show itunes in the cloud purchases" won't stay checked.  I have to restart, sign out and sign back in and then the option only shows up half the time.  This is VERY frustrating.  What gives?!?

I think I restored a very old system and must install a newer itunes. Not sure how to erase this.

  • When "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases" is selected in "Preferences" it causes my itunes to crash. Any help will be much appreciated.

    Ok,
This started happening a couple days ago. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing. I also disabled my firewall and antivirus to make sure nothing was blocking that connection. I read, in this community, that you could open itunes in safe-mode and turn off the "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases" selection in the preferences menu. This stopped my itunes from crashing upon opening but I no longer have access to my movies in the cloud. If I select that option, as soon as it tries to connect, itunes crashes. Is there a fix?

Try iTunes Store > Quick Links > Purchased > Music > Not in My Library.
    Also:
Try Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Reset Cache.
Try signing out of the store and then back in again.
See if you are able to re-engage the "Show iTunes in the cloud purchases" option.

  • HT201272 How do I turn on "show iTunes in the Cloud" purchases in iTunes 11.0.4?

Since up-grading to iTunes 11.0.4, I can no longer see my purchases that are in the cloud for TV shows and Movies.  I go to Preferences>Store and there is no longer an option to "Show iTunes in the Cloud" purchases.  How do I get that feature to tun

I signed out of iTunes, closed it and then opened and signed back in.  Then turned on iTunes Match and the option to Show Purchases in the Cloud returned to my Preferences>Store window.  Funky little glitch... It seems to be working now.

  • Show itunes in the cloud purchases tick box missing

I am running Mountain Lion 10.8.4 on a late 2011 MBP.  It is up to date with patches and software.  I have purchased itunes match.  My issue is that every time i start itunes my cloud purchases (films, tv shows) are missing and the tick box to enable "show itunes in the cloud purchases" is missing completely.  If i sign out and restart Itunes, sign back in the option re-appears?
I notice that our favourite search engine is full of similar stories, come on Apple please fix this most annoying bug.
    Thanks

Yes, this seems to be a bug.
I have reported it as such.

  • HT201272 Cannot locate itunes preferences to to follow the steps. 2.Make sure that you have "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases" enabled in your iTunes preferences by going to iTunes Preferences under the Store tab.

Can you assist me with downloading my past purchases on my new computer?

just as a follow-up i found a thread indicating mismatched AppleIDs could be a problem, so I changed the iCloud id to match, and that did allow me to get Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases and get the SD version.
Unfortunately, this hasn't solved the ultimate problem of getting the movie to sync to and play on a 1st gen Apple TV.

  • Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases gone, again.

So more than once, on two Mac running Yosemite, i open iTunes and its blank. I dont download anything on the macs, and only use the "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases" from iTunes > Preferences > Store.
Like pervious events, the option to  "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases" is just not there. I logout form Store > Sign out, sign back in, and the option is there. Still need to forcibly close iTunes from iTunes > Quit iTunes, and then my iCloud purchases all show up.
    What's going on?

I think I restored a very old system and must install a newer itunes. Not sure how to erase this.

  • "Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases" preference

iTunes on my Mac (v 11.0.2) has a "Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases" preference under the "Store" tab. This thing get automatically unchecked every day, frequently multiple times a day. This has been happening since the initial release of iTunes 11.
Are there any tips to reduce this "automatic uncheck" frequency?

    Just another data point.
iTunes was in the middle of playing a song streaming from my iCloud library when the song suddenly quit, the iCloud icon went away, and all the songs available from iCloud disappeared from the list.
This time when I went to Preferences to check "Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases", the option wasn't there. To resolve this, I had to completely logout of iTunes/iCloud and then log back in. This made the option available again.

  • "show itunes in the cloud purchases" doesn't work

"show itunes in the cloud purchases" doesn't work any more. I changed my apple id recently. I deauthorized and authorized my computer, loggin out and in. Can't see anything not on my hard disk, as previously. I restored my system, but the cloud purchases came back ok previously. The HD episodes are not on C: - they are all there. I reimported the folder.

I think I restored a very old system and must install a newer itunes. Not sure how to erase this.

  • ITunes 11 - "Show iTunes In The Cloud purchases" keeps turning back on

I have repeatedly turned off "Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases" in iTunes 11, and then when I relaunch iTunes, it is checked again!   Not only that, but when it launches with that feature turned back on, it then marks pretty much any TV show I have purchased via iTunes as watched, even if they are unwatched.    Any suggestions?

    hello,
unfortunately it is a huge bug....itunes store and itunes screw up the tv shows. many users reported this already here. now we have to make apple aware of the issue. go open a support ticket for this and please also send feedback within itunes, reporting the bug !
lets keep hopes up for a quick solution.

  • ITunes library only shows music in the cloud, how do I tell it to show the library on my hard drive?  iTunes 11.0.2.26

I don't know how this happened.
I opened iTunes last night and the player only lists items from the cloud, which is a small percentage of my itunes library - no podcasts, no playlists.  Somehow the iTunes players has "forgotten" that my music library is on my hard drive.
How do I tell the iTunes player where to look for my library?  In About iTunes, the version I am running is 11.0.2.26
Also, how did some random songs/albums end up on the cloud when I didn't put them there?  Some of the songs were purchased through itunes but not all and not all of my purchased songs, etc. show up on the cloud.  I'm so confused.
    Thans for your help!

    See this post.

  • How can I downoload show sI paid fro without going int o the Itunes store? The shows I paid for no longerr show up in the Cloud on my Ituneslists of shows

Before and when the Cloud started, Itunes still downloaded shows automatically or when I went to "Check for Available Downloads" and then it downloaded. Then I only got an email notice, but at least I was able to download from my Itunes, in the lists of shows, as the new shows were listed in the cloud. NOW, for the past 3 months, I cannot download any shows unless I go into the Itunes store and actually download each show from there. That is fine for one or two shows. but I get 25 a week, and it is a real pain. How do I fix this problem for my shows to download automatically into my Itunes?
    Norman Amsel ([email protected])

    iTunes prefs > Store.
Tick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases.
(if it's nto there. log out of iTunes store then log back in).
Then select TV Shows or Movies or Music.
To download items not on your computer, click the cloud icon with the down arrow.
You can also simply play the items and stream them without downloading them.
