Hi,
I need to purge RPD Cache from a Concurrent Program.
Can anyone suggest me how the shell script should be and pre-requisites to execute it from Conc Prog.
I am trying with SAPurgeAllCache method of Caching Mechanism..
Thanks,

  • Calling a request set from a concurrent program

    Hi,
    I am trying to call a request set( say RS1) from a concurrent program ( say CP1). I have used fnd_submit.set_request_set and related APIs, and I am able to submit the request set. But the problem is that I have to either hard code the request set parameters in the concurrent program CP1( which I am currently doing), or define the parameters in the concurrent program CP1 and pass the parameters while calling the request set requests. The second method does not work because the request set has around 30 requests, and it is not possible to accept the parameters for all those requests from CP1.
    What I would like to do is to define a parameter in CP1 which accepts the request set name( or short name), and then pop-up a window which shows the sub-requests in the request set so that I can enter the parameters of each request within the request set. ( something similar to $FLEX$)
    Have anyone done such a thing? Does anyone know if it is possible?
    Any suggestions are welcome!

    Hi,
    Sharing parameters will not work because my request set has many requests and none of them have any common parameters. I am looking for a solution which will show me all the programs in the request set with the default values so that I can change the parameter values if required.
    Thanks,
    Sridhar

  • Spawning child program from parent concurrent program.

    Hi All,
    I am trying to spawn multiple child programs from Parent concurrent program, Parent concurrent program is having execution method as HOST.
    Here is how I designed it.
    1. Parent Concurrent program (Parent Conc program with execution method as HOST).
    2. Host file is abc.prog calls PLSQL package xyz.main.
    3. xyz.main has logic to launch multiple child programs - (Child Conc program with execution method as PLSQL stored proc) using fnd_request.submit_request utility.
    All the child programs are getting launched but are in INACTIVE/NOMANAGER state. Could you please let me know how to overcome this issue.
    Both Parent and child programs are added to standard concurrent manager. This issue is only coming when parent program as execution method as HOST if parent program execution method is PLSQL stored procedure then child programs are running fine..
    I also tired initializing apps in HOST file (abc.prog) before calling PLSQL package xyz.main.
    Thanks.
    Sham.

    hi,
    even i was facing the same issue. while submitting the child requests through fnd_request.submit_request i tried the following:
    FND_REQUEST.submit_request (
    application => 'Application Short Name',
    program => 'Program Executable Name',
    description => 'Program Description',
    start_time => NULL,
    sub_request => FALSE,
    argument1 => 'Input 1',
    argument2 => 'Input 2' );
    After this the Programs were submitted successfully.

  • Is it posible to return warning message from HOST concurrent Program

    Is it posible to return warning message from HOST concurrent Program?
    Exit 0 -> successful
    Exit >1 is an error
    is there anyway to send the warning status through Host cooncurrent program ?
    Thanks
    Sachin

    I do not have access to a test instance to try this, but I believe "exit 2" will make the host concurrent program complete with a warning status. Can you pl try this and post your results here ? :-)

  • PL/SQL log messages are not printing from Java concurrent program

    Hi,
    I have a strange issue while submitting the Java concurrent program through PL/SQL.
    I have a PL/SQL concurrent program which will invoke the Java concurrent program inside the package by use of "FND_GLOBAL.SUBMIT_REQUEST". It worked and submitted successfully. From that Java concurrent program we are calling some other PL/SQL packages and printing some log messages over there. But problem here is the request is only printing the Java log messages in view log but not the PL/SQL log messages.  But if I submit the Java concurrent program directly from SRS form at that it is printing both Java and PL/SQL log messages.
    I am just wondering how the log messages has not printed. Please provide your inputs to solve this problem.
    Thanks
    Suriya

    I'm adding log messages in the package body , but these messages are not printing after completion of concurrent prog.
    Any suggestions.

  • Run Child Concurrent Program from Main Concurrent Program

    Hi,
    I'm trying to run Child Concurrent Program from the Main Concurrent Program as below, could you suggest me on below.
    Database:10g
    Main_Concurrent_Program
    =================
    1) Will update staging table XXID_PO_ITM with Batch_id = 1,2,3,4,5
    This staging table has 1000 rows, so every 200 rows will be updated with one of the above batch_id
    This logic is working.
    Child_Concurrent_Program
    ================
    2) Above Main Concurrent Program should call below Child_Concurrent_Program.
    This Child_Concurrent_Program will have parameter batch_id (based on above batch_id)
    So, this Child_Concurrent_Program should kick off with batch_id = 1
    Simillarly, Child_Concurrent_Program should kick off with batch_id = 2
    Child_Concurrent_Program should kick off with batch_id = 3
    Child_Concurrent_Program should kick off with batch_id = 4
    Child_Concurrent_Program should kick off with batch_id = 5
    Could you give me some suggestions on this?
    Thanks.

    Check with FND_SUBMIT for submitting a concurrent job using child dependecies. Keep in mind, that once you call the API ... it spawns it's own thread and and becomes an autonomous process. Control is no longer maintained within the calling package.

    Kiran,
    How did you convert/cast the CpContext into an AppsContext to supply to createRootAM?
    Would you maybe share some more code?
    Update
    No need for that, a simple
    public void runProgram( CpContext ctx )
    String amName;
    String methodName;
    OAApplicationModuleFactory amF = new OAApplicationModuleFactory();
    OAApplicationModule am = amF.createRootOAApplicationModule( ctx, amName );
    am.invokeMethod( methodName );
    will do...

  • Purge OBIEE cache from ODI

    Hello experts,
    I have ETL running on an ODI server, and OBIEE running on another server (both Windows Server 2008 R2). I want to purge the OBIEE cache by calling a batch file after all the ETL loads are done.
    What would be the best way to accomplish this? Please advise.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi.
    I hope is not that late to help on this.
    You may try to use the Event Polling table.
    Refer to this: http://gerardnico.com/wiki/dat/obiee/event_table
    You just need to implement an ODI interface to load this table with the proper information to clear the cache (check Gerardnico post to properly insert into the Event Polling Table)
    I spotted one issue with this.
    The attribute UPDATE_TS in this table must be unique or you must guarantee in your ETL that no duplicate datetime will be inserted in this table. This attribute is the key for the Cache Purging. It may sound silly to say that, but if you are using a bulk insert and a variable with the date time information all your records in the Event Polling Table may end with the same date time. This will cause a problem and your cache will not be deleted.
    Cheers.
