Push Notification across email.

Hi Team,
I am new on development applications for iphone, i have reviewed all documentation for development apps by iphone ipod touch.
I need implement the following applications:
Notes.
* I have a web app that send an email with specific information in xml format.
* The email account is the key value for filter other emails by example "[email protected]"
Features of iphone App:
* When email was arrived at device, the application verify if the email is of the email account specific "[email protected]".
* If this case, the email is parser and storage on memory of device.
* In the same time, when the email arrival, the sound or other features of notification alerts to the user.
I have reviewed all documentation and i can not found any documentation about of this.
In conclusion:
I need parser an email with address specific (defined for me) and if the emails is the specific, alert to user and storage on the device for display on the app.
Any suggestions?
I have reviewed The Apple Push Notification Service Programming Guide, but this is not an solution, because, i need parser email, but, in all time push environment. Not pull.
Please help me?
Jorge Luis

I have reviewed The Apple Push Notification Service Programming Guide, but this is not an solution, because, i need parser email, but, in all time push environment. Not pull.
You need to either work with the Push APIs as intended, or work with email as intended. You can't 'push' email....

Yahoo servers have been having problems lately
Longstanding, chronic problems actually.  It's rare that Yahoo push works for 3 consecutive days, going back 3 years!

  • Late push notifications and emails for alerts

Hi all, It happened to me several times already and am wondering what's going on. I open the app on my iPhone (or go to myfico.com on my computer for all that matters) and find out I have a new alert. A few hours later, my phone displays a push notification telling me I have a new alert. It's referring to the same alert I read about two hours ahead. Then, as if that was not late enough, I get an email the next day informing me about the very same alert! While most emails come within what seems like 6 hours, I've had at least three being one day late. This has obviously nothing to do with credit bureaus not reporting in time or any such thing. This is an internal issue of myfico.com where push notifications and emails are delayed even though the information is available online. With this being a *paid* identity monitoring service, I expect to know as soon as possible and having an email sent a day later is not "as soon as possible". Fraud waits for no one. On top of that - and this possibly being very well related - I get a hard inquiry on my report AUG 04. CreditSesame (a free service!) alerts me about 4 minutes later (wow!). CreditTracker by CapitalOne follows up with an email about two hours later. AUG 05 in the morning, about 6am, I find myfico.com having one notification from myfico from Experian. Followed later by an email at 10:36am (lucky case!): from: myFICO Member Services <[email protected]>to: <my email address goes here>
date: Wed, Aug 5, 2015 at 10:36 AMsubject: Alert - A new inquiry was added to your Experian credit report I think it was about 9am when I logged in again and found an Equifax alert sitting there. An email followed at 1:02pm. That's 4 hours late, assuming 9am as original alert time, which is when I found it accidentally. from: myFICO Member Services <[email protected]>to: <my email address goes here>
date: Wed, Aug 5, 2015 at 1:02 PMsubject: Alert - A new inquiry was added to your Equifax credit report It is now AUG 07 and I am yet to have an alert from TransUnion on myfico.com. Note that both creditsesame and capitalone use TransUnion. What gives? Thank you,Adrian

The other side doesnt have CSRs on these forums, you need to call the 800 customer service number to get these items resolved.

  • Push notifications for email

So push notifications happened on the iphone years ago, but I have never yet been able to get emails to be pushed to me. I have thought about this for years, but about time I got onto it. So how can I get my email pushed? I currently use a Gmail account - is it true that Gmail doesn't support push email on the iphone? Do I have to set it up differently? Does iCloud support push? Please do help me figure this out. At the moment it is so bad - I get my VIP email notifications like 2 days after they were actually received, how pointless.

iCloud, Yahoo, Hotmail premium, and Google premium support Push. So does a MS Exchange account. Free hotmail and Google do not anymore (Google used to through MS Exchange).

  • I have problems with Icloud push notifications to email subfolders

    Hello,
since ICloud i don't get any push notifications to any Subfolder.
At the mail Webclient i defined some email rules. I get only push notifications at the inbox folder.
Has icloud no support for notifications to subfolder?
    Thanks a lot from germany

    bump!
i have the same problem on my iphone 4S.
mails gets correctly put in the subfolder i assigned but i dont get any badge notification so hours may pass before i realize i have a new mail in my "very urgent stuff" subfolder! which is quite bad
would love to know if there's a workaround, it's a known issue or i should just disable the rules for a while and moving the mails manually.
notice the rules are applied on the icloud webmail app, but not on my desktop mac

  • Push Notification Signup - Email Confirmation Problem

I want to enable push notification on my Lion server. I check the box that says Enable Apple push notifications, and, it asks for my apple id and password, which I give. Then it says look for an email to confirm the email address on file. Well, I never get such an email, and, in the email logs on the server (get thousands of emails per day), nothing comes from apple. So, it's never sent.
Is there some other way to get them to send an email so I can confirm and complete the process? Suggestions?

I just found this but its only a temp Fix because as soon as you search again the phantom notifications will come back
Go to settings/mail/exchange - turn off mail and turn on again
I hope Apple is working on this Issue

  • Email push notification peak/off peak app

Is there an app out there that can give you the option to control the times at which you receive push notification on email and apps in the same way that you can do this with windows mobile.
I don't know how best ti describe this, but i am sure there are several people out there that have had windows phones in the past that may have experienced this option...
For now, I have to switch off the push notification when I don't want it which works, but it would be nice if i didn't have to do this every day...

Mine is stuck with a 2. Did you find how to fix that?

  • Why no email push notification?

I'm just wondering if there is a reason why the iPhone still lacks Push Notifications for email? Sure it pushes MobileMe, GMail etc, but only vibrates rather than telling me how many emails (like SMS/voicemail etc). Or, are there any apps that can do this? As unlocking the phone only to see it's junk mail, is a real pain!

This is because it makes no sense, and you don't understand what push notifications are for or how they work. Push notifications are to substitute for lack of background function for 3rd party apps. That way you get a notice "pushed" from a server for news alerts, IM messages, etc. even though the apps they're directed to are closed. Since Mail is always functioning, there is no reason for a separate push notification for mail it already received.
What you're really complaining about is that there is no display on the locked phone screen showing the email. SMS and VM show these, but they aren't "push notifications".
If you want to suggest this to Apple, post it on the iPhone Feedback page. This is a user-to-user only tech support forum. No one here can speak for Apples decisions or policies.

  • Push notifications for Exchange

Hello, will there ever be push notifications for email on exchange? ie: appear on screen like a badge from AIM etc.

Not sure what you mean. Exchange email can be pushed, and does result in a badge. Perhaps it's terminology - a badge is the red dot with number on the app icon (new Exchange emails badge the Mail app icon).
If you mean an alert (i.e. a text preview of the message that pops up on screen, like an Exchange calendar invite), Apple would need to implement that.

  • Email Account Push Notifications

I am a new iPhone user. I have setup three email accounts in my phone, two personal and one business. I am trying to find a way to disable the audible alert for my business account, but keep the notifications active for my personal accounts. (I get so many emails from work that the thing buzzes all the time).
Is there a way to disable push notifications for one account only?

You can use this link to provide Apple feedback. You won't receive a reply and this does not guarantee that your request will be implemented, but this ensures that your feedback is forwarded to and read by the appropriate Apple personnel.

  • TS4083 Email and Push Notifications

I have my email account on my phone but it will not sound or send me notifications to notify me that I have an email. I have to physically go into my mailbox in order to see that I have emails. What can I do in order to receive push notifications?

Again,we shouldn't have to. I've been an iPhone user since 3G and its taken years just to get simple things that even 10 year old nokias can do. Since we can now use our own alert tones etc, they can't even get them to be quiet when on a call. I've no need to know I've received a text or email when I'm on a call.
Always seems like apple don't think things through in the rush to get their gadgets out. Surely this is an easy fix that could have been sorted by now, there are enough complaints about it.

  • Selectively enable push notifications calendar but not email?

Is there a way to only enable push notifications for my calendar (Google Calendar through iCal), but not my email (Gmail account in Mail.app)? I want the Mail.app to be setup for Gmail when I want to send email links from apps, etc., but I don't want constant push notifications (otherwise I'd just use the Gmail app). I turned off the Notifications for Mail.app, but the phone still vibrates when a new email comes in.

You're confusing at least 4 different things, - push email, push notifications, notifications and alerts,
"Push notifications" are what certain 3rd party apps use to remotely send info to you.
"Push Email": IMAP and Exchange accounts that automatically send mail to the phone.
"Notifications":  Internal text type alerts when certain events occur such as receipt of mail (push or fetch)
"Alerts": Tones and/or vibrations when an event occurs
    The best I can determine from your post is that you're getting unwanted vibrations when receiving push mail - no other notifications.  If that's the case, in iOS 6 (coming 9/19);
Settings > Sounds > New Mail > Vibration > None

  • Can I send email invitations to local users instead of push notifications?

I see in the documentation that "Attendees can be invited to events via email if they don’t have an iCal Server account."  Is there a way to send email invitations to local users instead of push notifications?  The server would be migrating from Exchange and everyone is accustomed to/wants email invitations for calendar events.
I've already purchased a copy of Lion Server (10.7.4) and pretty much everything is setup.  Sadly I'm just now running into this issue.  Email invitations to non iCal server accounts work fine.
    Thanks for the help.

    Hi gracem0324,
Go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, and click on your Apple ID and sign out of Messages. Then sign on again. Sometimes it needs to reset itself....

  • Email push notifications

It's been about two weeeks that my email notifications have NOT pushed to my locked screen.  Since this time I have had to open my email icon and then I am connected, then my emails are downloaded ONLY at this time.  I have not changed any of my settings.  I almost think this is timed with the new OS download.  Can anyone help me?  Thanks!

Thank you jimfitzgerald for assisting stork. Stork, have you tried to delete the e-mail from your device? Here is how: http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=39569 .
Once you delete the e-mail account, add it back. Make sure you enable push notifications when setting up the e-mail account. You can do this by going to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Select the e-mail account > Mail should be turned on.
Let us know if that works.
    Thank you,
    Lena A.
