Putting objects into background or into foreground

Hello,
How do you manage problem with density of information on diagram. For example logical diagram and
have many entities and relationships and also notes/comments.
But sometimes comments are not needed, but for presentational or brain storming or discussions meeting there are useful for aditional explanation of the entity while presenting the diagram.
But crowd of objects can make the real estate of the diagram space very complex and hard for presentation.
How to solve this problem?
Is subview possible solution?
Extraction of certain elements of diagram and adding notes to certain subview? Is this possible to do: that on subview are added objects of diagram which are not visible on whole
conceptual diagram or other subview diagram?
And then during presentations and discussions navigating through different subviews ?
Thanx for suggestions, links, directions,

Perhaps a mix of subviews and displays are what  you're looking for.
Subviews allow you to include different sets of design objects. Displays allow you to setup different visual representations of the diagrams. Here's an example of using displays to have different ways of showing notes and comments.

    Hi Jurgen,
    Can you please explain what you are trying to do in detail. Do you want to create a Node dynamically in the context or, you want to populate a Node in a Context???
    The stack trace, does not reveal what you want to do with the value object!
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Putting a Class Object into a Vector

    HI all
    I need to put a class object into another classes vector, then be able to read it and retrieve data.
    I can put the object into the vector but all i seem to be able to retrieve is data like Account@2343c2.
    Is this some sort of tag? How do i get to the data?
    thankz
    joey

    That's what you get when you print an object which does not have its own toString() method to do anything different - it picks up the Object class's toString method instead. For example:
    System.out.println(new Object());It sounds like you're doing something like this:
    Vector v = new Vector();
    v.add(new Account(42));If you were to do the following, you would see that sort of output:
    System.out.println(v.get(0));The appropriate way to do this would be something like the following:
       // Use a List reference instead of a Vector reference, and create
       // an ArrayList object in preference to a Vector object
       List list = new ArrayList();
       list.add(new Account(42));
       // Iterate through the list of accounts - use an
       // iterator because this prevents off-by-one errors
       // that arise with direct indexing.
       Iterator i = list.iterator();
       while(i.hasNext()) {
          // Cast the reference returned by the iterator from
          // Object to Account so that we can call account-specific
          // methods.
          Account current = (Account)i.next();
          // Call the method specific to the Account class (getBalance
          // is just an example that I made up).
          System.out.println(current.getBalance());
       }

  • SCOM 2012 - Use Powershell to put specific server and contained objects into Maintenance Mode

    I am still trying to develop what I thought was going to be an easy script, to put a specific server and all it's contained objects into maintenance mode in SCOM 2012.   Not a group, but just one specific server and all it's stuff.
    My script to START maintenance mode has two parameters:
    1.  The FQDN.  So for example: server1.contoso.com
    2.  The amount of minutes to put into maintenance mode
    Then it does the following to START maintenance mode:
    Import-Module OperationsManager
    $Instance = Get-SCOMClassInstance -Name $FQDN
    If ($Instance)
    $newEnd = ((Get-Date).AddMinutes($minutes))
    Start-SCOMMaintenanceMode -Instance $Instance -end $newEnd -Reason "PlannedOther" -Comment "Comments here"
    This seems to work from what I can tell.  I know that when you schedule maintenance mode manually in SCOM, there is an option to apply to "Selected objects and all their contained objects".  I do not know if that is occurring based on
    my code above.   But I think that is what I want to happen.   I just want all monitoring and alerting for the specified server to stop.   So if you think I need to change the above code so that it gets all the "contained
    objects" please let me know.
    The second part, which I know for a fact isn't fully working, is intended to stop maintenance mode for a server.
    My script to STOP maintenance mode has only one parameter:
    1.  The FQDN.  So for example: server1.contoso.com
    Then it does the following to STOP maintenance mode:
    Import-Module OperationsManager
    $Instance = Get-SCOMClassInstance -Name $FQDN
    If ($Instance)
    $MMEntry = Get-SCOMMaintenanceMode -Instance $Instance
    If ($MMentry)
    #basically sends an end time of 1 minute from when the script is run
    $newEnd = ((Get-Date).AddMinutes(1))
    Set-SCOMMaintenanceMode -MaintenanceModeEntry $MMEntry -EndTime $NewEnd -Comment "Removing from Maintenance Mode"
    This part does seem to work partially.   It does remove the server from maintenance mode.  However, I suspect that it's not removing all the "contained objects" from maintenance mode because when I run the script to stop maintenance
    mode on a server, the little maintenance mode icon in SCOM does go away but the overall light for the server stays set to "Not Monitored".   It never turns back to the green checkbox and says "Healthy".   When I start
    and stop maintenance mode manually I can see that the green Healthy checkbox comes back.  But when I try to run my above code to do it via script, it stays at "Not Monitored" instead.
    Can someone help me out here?  Looking for answers to two questions:
    1.  Does my Start maintenance mode code look ok? Will that put a server and all it's contained objects into maintenance mode?
    2.  What do I need to hadd to my Stop maintenance mode code, so that it correctly stops maintenance mode on the server and all its objects and everything starts to be monitored again?
    Thanks in advance!  Please let me know if you need any more information in order to be able to help me!

    Hello, thanks for your response.  Unfortunately, it does not appear that the link you provided works.
    As far as not including "selected objects and all their contained objects" I am wondering if there is a way for me to tell for sure. One thing I found was that if I run this script and put the server into maintenance mode, then I go into
    SCOM and click on Edit Maintenance Mode for that server, it shows me the details.   It has some comment, and my selected reason, based on the code I posted above.   It also DOES have "selected objects and all their contained objects"
    selected at top.  So it seems to me like it is working correctly, and does contain all the objects.   If you think that 'Edit' screen would be inaccurate for some reason, please let me know.  Or if you know of a way for me to check and
    confirm, please let me know that as well.
    As for REMOVING it from maintenance mode, I did eventually find a line of code that I think works.  Here's what my code looks like now:
    Import-Module OperationsManager
    $Instance = Get-SCOMClassInstance -Name $FQDN
    If ($Instance)
    $MMEntry = Get-SCOMMaintenanceMode -Instance $Instance If ($MMentry)
    $Instance.StopMaintenanceMode([DateTime]::Now.ToUniversalTime(),[Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Common.TraversalDepth]::Recursive);
    When I use the above code to STOP maintenance mode, the green checkmark does reappear for the server, and everything seems to be being monitored again.   Unlike before, where the maintenance mode icon would go away, but it would never change back
    to saying 'Monitored' again.  So I think that changing that one line to stop maintenance mode seems to have done the trick.
    So I guess my last concern now is just putting in maintenance mode initially, as I was talking about above.  If you still think the 'Edit Maintenance Mode' screen is not a good indicator of what my code does, please let me know.

  • How do I put text into an Edge File that clients can edit easily afterwards

    Hi
    Can anyone explain how I can put text into an edge file (styled with google fonts) and make it so that clients can access the text and update the text as they require?
    Previous suggestion was dynamically loading a .txt file - any instructions would be most appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi Resdesign!
    Your code is very useful to learn how to use Json in Adobe Edge Animate!
    But I have a question: why you use ( i ) as argument of the function UpdateInfo and when you recall it you use ( index )?
    $.getJSON('slides.json', function(data){
              //for(var i=0; i<data.length; i++){
    function updateInfo(i){
                        sym.$("photo").css({"background-image": "url('"+data[i].image+"')"});
                        sym.$("pillar").html(data[i].pillar);
                        sym.$("what").html(data[i].what);
                        // position
              index = -1;
              sym.$("btn").click(function(){
              index++;
                        if (index>=5){
                                  index = 0;
              updateInfo(index);
    Many thanks for your attention!

  • I can't seem to get my iMac (late 2009 model) into automatic sleep mode.  If I manually put it into sleep I don't have any issues.  I used to solve the issue by running "PleaseSleep" application but that doesn't work anymore since Lion.

    I can't seem to get my iMac (late 2009 model) into automatic sleep mode.  If I manually put it into sleep I don't have any issues.
    I used to solve the issue by running "PleaseSleep" application but that doesn't work anymore since Lion. I now want to fix the underlying problem.
    I'm not running any weird background processes and in my energy saver settings I've tagged "put the hard disk to sleep when possible:, "allow power button to put computer to sleep" and "automatically reduce brigthness". All pretty standard.
    Is there anyone who can give me some pointers ?

    Today I solved the same problem for my iMac running Snow Leopard. See https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3008791#15947706. The method may help you, too.
    For me it was the DynDNS Updater preventing my iMac from automatically entering sleep mode.
    To my knowledge the cause of this sleep problem can only be a peripheral device or a process. So I suggest to first unplug all peripherals and test whether that's the cause. If not, I suggest to terminate one process after another and to test automatic entering of sleep mode after each. Start with user processes; continue with system process if necessary.
    At least that's the way I found the offending process. Fortunately, I was able to change the configuration of that process to allow again automatic entering of sleep mode.
    Good luck!

  • How to put graphics into a JViewport?

    Hi,
    I'm trying to make a simple game, where a block can move around in a 30x30 grid with collision detection. So far, it works alright, but I want the window to hold only 10x10 and for the block that is moving to stay at the center while the painted background moves around. The program reads a .dat file to get the world.
    So is there a way to use the background world Ive painted and put it into a viewport so that it will scroll when the keys are hit to move? Also I'd like to make the block stay at the center of the screen, unless it's at a corner.
    Hopefully this makes sense and someone can help. Thanks.

    I know this is an old posting, but I just saw another question similiar to this and I still have my old code lying around that incorporates most of the suggestions made in this posting. So I thought I'd post my code here in case anybody wants to copy/paste the code. You will still need to use the DAT file provide above as well as provide icons to represent the floor and wall.

  • I need to add the values stored in the session object into the html textbox

    Dear Sir,
    i have been trying to create an edit employee details page
    What i have done till now is as follow:
    1. Got employee id from HTML page.
    2. Compared it with the id stored in the database.
    3. If the id is correct then pulled the record of the corresponding employee and stored it in the session object.
    4. Dispatched the session values to another servlet EditEmpDetails2.java
    what i need to do now
    5. Now i need to set the session values in the text field of the html form
    6. I also need to be able to edit those vales and store the edited values in the database.
    Please help me as i have tried doing it for 1 week without any clues
    i have tried to create a html page which is something like this:
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Edit Employee Details Page</title>
    <body BGCOLOR="red" text="black">
    <h1 ><font color="black">Edit Employee Details Page</font></h1>
    <form action = "EditEmpDetails" method="Get">
    <table width="50% align="center"
    <tr><td>Employee ID: </td>
    <td><INPUT TYPE="TEXT" name="employeeid"<br></td></tr>
    <tr><td><center><input type="submit" value="submit"></center></td></tr>
    <tr><td><center><input type="reset" value="reset" ></center></td></tr>
    </table>
    </form>
    </body>
    </html>
    design of my servlet EditEmpDetails.java
    public void EditEmpDetails1 extends HttpServlet
    public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)throws ServletException, IOException
    PrintWriter out = response.getWriter();
    response.setContentType("text/html");
    HttpSession session = request.getSession();
    String employeeid;
    String X = request.getParameter("employeeid");
    System.out.println("Employee iD:" + X);
    Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
    Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:murphy");
    String query = "Select * from users where employeeid=?";
    PreparedStatement stat = con.prepareStatement(query);
    System.out.println(stat);
    stat.setString(1,X);
    ResultSet rs = stat.executeQuery();
    while(rs.next())
    String Z = rs.getString(password);
    if(Z.equals(X))
    String A = rs.getString(1);
    session.setAttribute("employeeid", A);
    String B = rs.getString(2);
    session.setAttribute("firstname", B);
    String C = rs.getString(3);
    session.setAttribute("lastname", C);
    String D = rs.getString(4);
    session.setAttribute("gender", D);
    String E = rs.getString(5);
    session.setAttribute("dateofbirth", E);
    String F = rs.getString(6);
    session.setAttribute("address", F);
    String G = rs.getString(7);
    session.setAttribute("postalcode", G);
    String H = rs.getString(8);
    session.setAttribute("phone", H);
    String I = rs.getString(9);
    session.setAttribute("mobile", I);
    String J = rs.getString(10);
    String url = "/EditEmpDetao;s.java";
    RequestDispatcher dispatcher = getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher(url)
    dispatcher.forward(request,response);
    catch (Exception e)
    system.out.println(e)
    I do not know how to put the values stored in the session object into the html text box

    3. If the id is correct then pulled the record of the corresponding employee and stored it in the session object.do you really need to store this in session object?
    5. Now i need to set the session values in the text field of the html form which form? in a new html/jsp page? i suggest go for a JSP
    In your JSP page use JSP expression tags to put the session attributes.
    it's something like : <input type='text' name='employeeid' value='<%= session.getAttribute("employeeid") %>' >and you need to generateanother servlet for saving the details/modifications to the database.
    I think i m clear enough.
    if you need more clarifications. just try it and then post your problem.

  • Unable to insert pdf object into ppt or word

    I am unable to insert a pdf object into Word or Powerpoint.  I have Adobe Reader 9.3 and Windows 7 MS Office 2010 64 bit.   Previously, I was able to perform this task without issue with the same software.
    For word, I get:
    "The program used to create this object is AcroExch.  That program is either not installed on your computer or it is not responding.  The edit this object install AcroExch or ensure that any dialog boxes in AcroExch are closed".
    For Powerpoint, I get:
    "The server application, source file, or item can't be found, or returned an unknown error.   You mayneed to reinstall the server application."
    Was an update sent out that may have caused the issue?
    Or is there a solution to resolve the issue?  The ony solution I have sound is Disabling Protect Mode which does not apply to this version of Reader.
    Any help would be greately appreciated.  Thank you.

    There is another thread on this and seems to be an ongoing issue with neither Microsoft nor Adobe owning up to it.  What I did to work-around the issue is create a .zip file of the .pdf file which can then be put into the workd doc as an object file icon.  Worked for me.  Not the best solution but this has been ongoing since 2011, and this worked.

  • Array of objects into dataset and then to datagrid

    I have discovered amfphp (
    http://amfphp.org). It's a really
    cool way to move complex data objects from php to flash and back.
    quote:
    So I am successfully creating an array of items from my
    database...an item that would otherwise be created like this:
    items = array();
    item[0] = new Object();
    item[0].id = 7;
    item[0].name= "Item 1";
    item[0].styleNumber = "001";
    item[1] = new Object();
    etc.
    I put DataSet and DataGrid objects on my stage called
    productDataSet and productDataGrid, respectively, and tried this:
    quote:
    this.productDataSet.items = re.result;
    trace('dataSet length:' + this.productDataSet.getLength());
    this.productDataGrid.dataProvider =
    this.productDataSet.dataProvider;
    the trace appears to work correctly--several hundred
    items--and the dataGrid shows my object property names (albeit in
    reverse order) and the DataGrid appears to have several hundred
    items in it but there is NO DATA THERE. All the list items are
    blank.
    I've had a bit of luck working with the component inspector
    creating bindings and stuff but I'm hampered by my incomplete
    understanding of how it works. All the tutorials I've found
    instruct me to import an XML sample to create a schema. Since I
    have no XML i cannot one.
    I want to do just a couple of things:
    1) put my data in the DataSet properly, ideally in one fell
    swoop--i *think* i've done this correctly above
    2) attach the DataGrid to the DataSet so that when i sort or
    filter the data set, the datagrid shows the results and when i
    select an item in the DataGrid, the DataSet knows that is the
    currently selected item.
    3) hide the 'id' field in the data grid and display
    user-friendly names for the columns: "Style Number" rather than
    "styleNumber".
    Any help would be much appreciated. I *think* this is all
    about understanding schemas but I don't really know.

    That *is* a very interesting article. Unfortunately, it
    doesn't mention anything about DataSets. I haven't had any trouble
    getting my data into my flash application. I've also been able to
    put it into a DataGrid pretty easily (although not quite as
    elegantly as that example did).
    The problem is that I'm having issues when I introduce a
    DataSet for filtering. I can't get the data from the DataSet into
    the DataGrid like I want it. I haven't been able to hide the 'id'
    column of my data and the column names unfortunately are *exactly*
    what the Object property names are. I was hoping to put
    user-friendly column headers on their like 'Product Name' rather
    than 'name' or 'Style Number' rather than 'styleNumber'.
    Also, the concept of a schema is still somewhat beyond me. I
    tried changing the schema for my productDataSet to this and I got
    the data to display. I added 'name, 'styleNumber', and 'id'
    quote:
    <-->dataProvider : Array
    <-->deltaPacket : DeltaPacket
    <-->items : Array
    <-->selectedIndex: Number
    <-->name : String
    <-->styleNumber: String
    <-->id : Integer
    I have tried radically different shemas (schemae?) that seem
    to also get the data in there but I don't really understand what
    i'm doing here and I feel like I'm asking for trouble not knowing
    how this stuff really works.
    And, like I said before, i want to hide certain information
    that's in the DataSet so that it doesn't get displayed. I'd also

  • Put ViewObject into scope in Java

    I need put ViewObject into scope in Java. For example,
    <bc4j:findViewObject name="xxxxView"> (FindViewObjectEventHandler) puts "xxxxView" into scope.
    Could I do the same in Java:
    ApplicationModule am = (ApplicationModule) context.getProperty(JboConstants.BC4J_NAMESPACE,
    JboConstants.APP_MODULE_PROPERTY);
    ViewObject vo = am.findViewObject("xxxxView");
    and then put it into scope?

    Sergey -
    Usually, the reason for putting a view object into scope (using <bc4j:findViewObject>) is to make the view object available to other declarative event handlers. If you are writing Java code, then once you obtain a reference to your view object, you should be able to interact with it programmatically - without needing to "put it into scope".
    Can you tell me a bit more about the behavior that you are trying to implement? I want to get a better understanding of why you need to put the view object into scope... what UIX code is going to be accessing the view object after you have put it into scope? Where is the Java code that puts the view object into scope being called from (an event handler)?

  • Embed JavaFX object into JSPX page

    Hi guys,
    I developed a RIA using javaFX and now want to embed this object into a JSPX page. In the page I wrote following sentences,
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.1"
              xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"
              xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/rich"
              xmlns:afh="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/html">
    <jsp:directive.page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8"/>
            <f:view>
                <af:group>
                    <afh:script source="http://dl.javafx.com/1.2/dtfx.js"/>
                    <afh:script>
                        javafx(
                            archive: "myJavaFX.jar",
                            draggable: true,
                            width: 1080,
                            height: 540,
                            code: "path.Main",
                            name: "myJavaFX"
                    </afh:script>
                </af:group>
            </f:view>
    </jsp:root>I used Oracle Jdeveloper as my IDE and weblogic server as application server. I put the .jar files of myJavaFX application into same folder as the .jspx page.
    To my surprise, when the web page was generated, the application was not displayed but showing the following sentence,
    javafx( { archive: "firstJavaFX.jar", draggable: true, width: 1080, height: 540, code: "path.Main", name: "firstJavaFX" } );Obviously, the logic of my script was not recognized. Instead, it's printed out directly.
    So what could I do with this? Any helpful comments would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards from Isaac.

  • Best way to import all objects into work repository located on a new master respository

    Hi,
    We have two separate master repositories, one for all development work repositories (Development, ST, UAT, IAT), and one for Production.
    What would be the best approach to export and import all objects from the Dev Repository into the Prod Work Repository located on the Prod Master Repository.
    Internal Ids of all work repositories are different.
    We have tried putting everything into a solution and exporting that, but that did not work when we tried to import it.
    We successfully exported and imported a single scenario, however this is not very practical as we have over 500 scenarios.
    All suggestions welcome,
    Thanks,
    Nic

    Thanks,
    But we want to keep Dev Work Repositories separate to Prod Work Repositories on their respective Master Repositories.
    So our end result will have:
    1) All Development Work Repositories located in the Development Master Repository on the Development server.
    2) The Production Work Repository located on the Production Master Repository on the Production Server.
    3) The ability to update a Solution or similar in Development with all changes to any objects.
    4) The ability to import the Solution into the Prod Work Repo on the Prod Master Repo and execute via a load plan.
    Is this possible?

  • Putting message into send queue failed

    Putting message into send queue failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.DuplicateMessageException: Message Id 8fd8ebf2-14dc-498c-26d4-fa83a612df8f(OUTBOUND) already exists in duplicate check table: com.sap.sql.DuplicateKeyException: Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK__BC_MSG_DUP_CHECK__0CB1C3F7'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'SAPPIQDB.BC_MSG_DUP_CHECK'..
    I get the above error for one of my interface.
    The scenario is simple lift and shift using integrated scenario.
    I am unable to figure out reason for the above error.
    Regards,
    Lalit Mohan Gupta.

    Hi Lalit Mohan Gupta,
    It seems like you have a problem with duplicate Message IDs (GUID). This can happen if you do not let SAP PI generate the message ID for the message being processed, but is relying on an external system to provide you with the message ID.
    In any case. I don't think you will succeed with getting the message processed, because of the duplicate message ID constraint in SAP PI. But you need to be aware that depending on how your SAP PI has been setup to handle archiving/deletion of messages in Java-stack, you could potentially run into the situation, where SAP PI removes the initial message from its database and by that enables processing of the duplicate message ID.
    Best regards,
    Jacob

  • Can I take a selection from one clip and put it into another?

    I'm pretty new to this so thanks. I want to assemble a clip that has parts of three different takes. Splitting the screen works for a couple of the takes..but i'm wondering if I can use the four point matting to isolate a character and put him into another clip...the backgrounds are the same and the set up when shot is the same...but there is no blue or green screen involved so I'm wondering if this is possible in FCP. Hopefully the question makes sense...thanks!

    So you are trying to "cut out" your subject and paste him onto another take? Should be easy enough- just use the four or eight point matte to cut out a square around the subject, then layer that clip on top of the other take you want to superimpose him in. As long as the angle/lighting were the same, it should work. If you find you want a more complicated matte, try Tom's 50 Point Matter, which has a bezier curves option.
