Puzzled about filters for phones.

I am very puzzled about the filters for the phones.   I have three cordless phones so made sure I had three filters to use with my phones for the broadband.
I put one filter on the incoming phone line with the cordless with the ansaphone ..... and then plugged the other two cordless into the electric supply and realised I couldn;t put a filter on them .... so was stumped.   But the broadband is staying connected when calls are being answered.
I thought I had to have a filter on each phone being used.    Sorry if its a bit garbled... but I'm trying to explain it the best way I can.

very simple really as they are cordless phones and as they operate wirelessly only the main phone unit is connected to the phone line the other two phones do not need filters

Can a fusion web application run on smart phones also? Then what about database for mobiles?

Any web application can run on smart phone because you are accessing it from browser so no need for database or application server on your mobile

Ok so I happened to figure it out while on the phone to apple support. Even though the guy was very nice, I think I knew more than him! He was explaining very basic resolution principles I played about. I had the second option in displays resolution. All I did was unplug the HDMI cable, click on 'best for display' then plugged the HDMI in and my resolution on the normal monitor changed to the normal blue, then went black momentarily and then changed to a strange resolution but another window appeared that said SONY BRAVIA HDMI at the top! Hey presto! Don't know why it didn't do it yesterday - I probably left the HDMI cable in or something! Oh well. Problem solved!

  • Speakers work for phone and other apps, but not for music playback on 4G after downloading ios 8.0.2

I know others are having off the wall issues with sound on their iPhones after installing the iOS 8.0.2...In my case? Thank God the sound for phone calls and alarms work, but the same can't be said for when I try to play music or a radio app?? And the speaker option on my voice mail sticks....
There are 1001 other issues that I have with this so called upgrade, and let's just say that I've been looking at using my AT&T other phone options since I'm ready to upgrade....Since this is the second time in about a year that I've gone through **** and back with an Apple OS upgrade and there just isn't the cache there once was with owning an iPhone? I'm seriously questioning why be brand loyal when I can't find an answer to my issue and the one solution is to go to the Apple Store and deal with the arrogant and rude clerks OR try and see if someone has a decent solution, OR wait for weeks for Apple to offer a bug fix or access to older OS's!
(BTW--I HATE how this OS kills the battery! And I'm not happy with the 2 apps that I didn't want and can't get rid of!)

    I was hoping that the iOS 8.1 update would have fixed my problem, but it has not. The app updates continue to hang and will not up date unless I follow the procedures mentioned earlier. I have spoken to Apple Care, and their only suggestion was to do a network settings reset. This worked once, but on the following days as more app updates appeared, they would not download. Once again, the only way to achieve my goal is to do one of the following;
    Change networks
    Sync through iTunes
    Reset Network Settings
Turn off Wi Fi and use Cellular Data (not my preferred option especially while at home and connected to my home network).
I think Apple are loosing the plot and seem to be chasing profits more than producing a good reliable product. I would have respected the company more if they had admitted that iOS8 was not ready for general release rather than release a faulty system causing so many problems.

  • Does Verizon really care about the windows phones??

I recently bought the Nokia 928 and as a "tech-impaired" person I am really happy with it. This is my second smart phone and I find it much easier to navigate than my Motorola Droid 3.   My co-worker (who is similarly impaired!) wanted to update to her first smart phone and had visited her local Verizon store to browse the various phones.  All that was EVER mentioned to her or shown were various Razrs, the Samsung Galaxies, and of course I-phones.  She saw the 928 demo phone there but it was never even offered as a choice so she didn't ask about it.  When she saw my phone she asked my thoughts, and asked to "play" with it.  I showed her some of the things she could do that I have found to be not difficult.  Bottom line she decided she liked the ease of operation, knew she did NOT need Suri and thought the Samsung Galaxy S 4 had way too many features for what she would ever need. She went back to the store and they did not even have a 928 in stock.  They did order her one, but she said that I knew way more about what the phone could do than anyone there.  I told her to ask about the 25 dollar gift certificate available through the end of June that could be used for Microsoft apps, they knew NOTHING about that either.  When I bought my phone I asked the store rep who was helping me (in a different town) and she was also unaware of it; but at least she found out and helped me set up a Microsoft account and got the certificate onto my phone.  She laughed and admitted she really knew very little about the Windows phone set up.  It really does seem that Verizon just doesn't care much about this platform and does not give their customers this choice since they virtually ignore that it even exists.

Thats why I normally do not get involved with writing on message boards, especially corporate boards, too many company employees write comments like that on behalf of their office…and yes, cellular service and home communications services are a little more that a “soda” and yes, I do expect loyalty to be a two way street….end of thread, unsubscribed from this farce….

  • My iPhone 4s no longer has sound for any of the applications but it does have sound for phone functions.  Where is the setting for app sound?  I have gone to the multitask screen and the volume bar is empty.

I recently found my phone outside in light rain (it had been there about 20 minutes).  It had some glitches at first, however after letting it rest overnight it seemed to mostly recover.  The one problem I am having is that I no longer have sound for any of my applications.  I do have sound for phone fuctions, and I am able to use the speaker for phone functions.
When I am in my applications, including music/videos, the only way I can hear is if I use my earbuds.  I am able to make a video and it will record sound just fine.
When I go to the multitask screen, the volume bar is empty and I cannot adjust it using the side buttons (even though in settings I have that feature activated). I completely reset all of my settings tonight and that did not make a difference.
Is there a setting I am missing, or am I just SOL?  I am trying to avoid having to get a whole new phone but it is very frustrating to not have sound with my applications.

  • I don't have phone, but the TV says I need to replace battery backup for phone?!?!?!

    Hello,
For three years, we've had Verizon Fios Internet and TV.  We've never had a phone.
Today, the contraption Verizon plugged in the wall (sadly, I'm not really sure what it is, and had forgotten it existed until today as it's tucked behind some furniture) started beeping and the replace battery indicator light is on.  Furthermore, when I turn on TV, I am greeted with this message:
    My questions are:
    (1) If I don't have phone service, why would I even have a battery backup (much less need to replace it) to allow phone service during power outages?
    (2) Since I have only internet and TV, can I safely go without replacing this battery?
    (3) If the answer to #2 is yes, then how do I get the thing in the wall to stop beeping every 30 minutes?
Thank you in advance to any responses.

You can unplug the battery in your optical network terminal (ONT) and the message needing to replace the battery will go away.  Verizon customer service did confirm the battery is only for phone service when power is off.
I was only able to find 3 links on the alarm / battery backup.  It looks like they never thought about people who did not want the phone feature and to silence the beeping with the battery removed?
I don't know how frequently my unit beeps, but I don't normally hear it because it is in my garage.  I don't know if it has a pattern to when it beeps; but when I'm in the garage, I sometimes hear a single loud beep for about 1 second.
I imagine the battery must enable the laser to function when the power is off besides supply power to the copper phone lines in your house for a line powered phone.  I would assume then that if one had a UPS to power the computer and router and a good battery in the BBU; then one could have an internet when the power is off too?  Verizon user manuals don't mention this, so it might not work?

  • Ouch!  A $1500 Bill?  Return Credits for phones not issued

Seems Verizon didn't get two phones I shipped back to them, and they're going to charge me $650 for one and $450 for the other.  Regrettably I used the Verizon return labels and sent them back USPS.  Of course the tracking numbers aren't in USPS' system.
Per the first person I talked to, the $650 phone had been returned, but no credit was issued as it wasn't returned in the 14 day grace period.  I explained that the replacement was due to the $650 phone not working and the 14 day period wasn't applicable charged. (I went from the Nexus to a Razr) I was told the $450 phone was never received by Verizon.
I asked for the credit for the $650 as Verizon actually received it and the switched was authorized be Verizon.  I was told I had to speak to a supervisor to get the credit.
But when I went to the supervisor I was told that the $650 charge was for the Nexus phone not being returned and the first person had been wrong.  I guess the records somehow changed.  She indicated she would initiate another investigation to try and find the Nexus phone so I get to wait on that one.
So after 2 hours on the phone there was at least a little good news:  The $450 phone, despite never having been returned according to Verizon, was now magically active on another Verizon Customer's account.  So the supervisor launched an investigation into that situation, and I'm hoping to at least get that credit on the next bill.
So I'm asking the USPS to see if they can find a box laying around someplace in one of their post offices that should actually be delivered to Verizon.  But I'll probably turn blue before they find it, but wait, if a phone can magically get on another person's account despite not having been received by Verizon, then there is still hope for this one!

Well I feel your pain and it appears that I am experiencing a similar situation:
My son's droid started acting up so we had him contact Cust Service and arrange for a replacement; he did everything right but Verizon sent him a Samsung instead of a Droid, so he contacted them and told them the error, they said no problem and told him they would rectify it, they did, they sent him a replacement droid with instructions to send the two phones back. He did this and saved the shipping receipts, did I say he was a smart kid?
When we received the bill with the add'l $460 for phones shipped on it, my husband contacted Verizon and told them of the situation and the cust serv rep said no problem, I'll contact the warehouse and have them verify receipt and then remove the fees. This was 6 weeks ago!!
When I went to pay the reg monthly bill 2 weeks ago, the large amount was still on there and so I mentioned it and my husband said not to worry, probably just a glitch... he's so trusting!
Today two things happened, my husband received an email saying our account was in serious delinquency (due to the $460) and he called to see about an upgrade to my current phone which is on the downhill turn. They told him our account was on hold due to the delinquency and so he started working with them and a Cust Serv rep named Andrea mentioned that she saw that they had made an error and when the warehouse had verified receipt of the two phones the original cust serv rep had neglected to note that and remove the fees.... she said she'd open a ticket and they'd take care of it in 2 days.... meanwhile I can't get a new phone, etc etc... we find this very unacceptable so I call back and ask to speak to a supervisor... and after first speaking to another cust serv agent who says he has spoken to a supervisor, I finally say nope, not okay, I want to speak to the supervisor.
This call takes me 45 minutes.... great cust service! and when I finally speak to a supervisor, he says there is nothing they can do except wait for the warehouse once again to confirm that they received the said phones 6 weeks ago; he sees the notes on the account, but he is powerless to do anything... Really? Really? OMG.... he apologizes which is useless, says he will note the account so that financial services doesn't term the account, and really his (Parrish BTW is his name) attitude is they can't do a thing but wait til Sunday til we hopefully hear back from the warehouse. I asked to speak to someone above him and he tells me that there is no one above him... he is the manager on duty and there is no one else higher than him... really, like maybe a VP of customer service, which there is but this person must live in an ivory tower and not be allowed any customer contact... that might actually open his eyes to Verizon's horrible customer service behaviors.
I used to have ATT and loved them but switched as my husband had Verizon and my company offers a discount to use Verizon... so I caved and almost every 2-3 months, I have to interact with powerless customer service people who spout empty statements of "no problem" or "I understand your concern" or "I am sorry but there is nothing we can do"; how about, "yes ma'am, I see the notes, and I am very sorry for the error we made and I will take care of it right now."
Does no one at Verizon own their mistakes and seek to rectify it for the customer who is paying their wages?
I know no one from Verizon cares or will read these blogs but they sure should; they should empower their employees and fire or counsel the ones who cause these kind of issues for their customers!
Sigh.... time to go grab a drink and wait two days for some one from Verizon to maybe call me back and hope my cell doesn't break completely between now and then.... Buttheads! LOL!

  • Do Web pages for phones have to be Apps?

I do not own a mobile phone that is web enabled, and I never designed a web page for phones, but now due to the steep learning curve, I need a quick fix.
Reading the help in Dreamweaver 5.5, there is lots of information about creating the best  mobile sites, though at the moment, I don't understand a lot of it - but that's my fault.
However, when I use someone else's phone to look at most existing sites that are just designed for computers to view, the phone has facilities that make the sites available.
Lots of zooming and such which is a pain, but you usually can view them.
It occurred to me that perhaps there is a position mid way between a stock web site and a fully fledged phone app could be a stop gap solution until the whole mess of media queries, and other phone related stuff is understood.
My suggested solution is as follows:
Provide seperate sets of pages for both types at suitable sizes ( max 320 wide for mobiles).
Keep all graphics for phone pages to a minimum size and well optimised to allow for quick page loading.
1.On the index page of the site, put a large link to the phone pages and one to the computer pages so that its easily seen by phone users
    2. Design the index page and all phone pages so that the content would fit on a 320 pixel wide screen.
    3. Have the first page after the index purely as the menu screen, with a list of links.
    4. Each link leads to a deck of stacked pages that that are serially linked back and forth, with a "return to first page" on each one, with the navigation being at the bottom (or the top?) of the page.
To view pages, the phone user would have to select the phone link on the site's index page, then select from the menu to get to the first page of a topic. He can then flick through the linked set of pages and go back to the menu from any. The pages would fit most mobile phones, and no phone specific stuff wopuld be needed.
I appreciate that this method would not provide the most sparkling of mobile web sites, and would require two sets of pages, which is a maintenance problem, but it ought to help phone users to surf my site until I can get up to speed with the mobile stuff.
Question is - would it work?
    Your comments please?

Frankly, if you simply do a website using HTML5, you're set for a mobile device. And Dreamweaver 5 and 5.5 both give you code-hinting and definitions for HTML5/CSS3.
jQuery would be the "app" side of that, though if you are really looking to make an application that works on a mobile phone, your best method is to do it in Flash and then compile it using Air. Adobe has a complete discussion of what's required here.
    Hi mhollis55
Could you tell me why you describe the jQuery mobile framework as an app?
The framework uses html5, css3 and ARIA, and is designed to make the creation of mobile friendly web pages easier for those who do not wish to commit themselves to learning all the mobile specific features required by modern smartphones and now even supports many of the older smartphone devices, see - http://jquerymobile.com/

I can usually do one adjustment,  then it crashes on the second adjustment.  It has crashed everyone I have tried a this with different images and after resetting my phone

In my office we have SUN SPARC MACHINE with SOLARIS 7 which is connected by other machine (all the other machine OS are in Windows). I am affraid of virus. Can anyone give good idea or good antivirus which take care of all virus.
    Thanks in advance.
    Dwarak

    Hello,
I dont exactly understand what you ask for. Are you looking for an antivirus to protect your Solaris box? If this is your problem, dont be afraid of it, because windows viruses wont afect Solaris. Theres no virus problem with Solaris.
Other thing is virus transmision. For example, IIf you get an infected email on Solaris and send it to a user with Windows, it will receive the virus. In this line, and considering that Solaris machines are usually email servers, gateways, etc... some companies have developed Antivirus Gateways for filtering all incoming and outgoing viruses (for example, a gateway like this would work like a virus firewall on a corporate email server, so the users wont receive any infected network traffic).
Also most antivirus companies, considering Solaris stability, availability, etc... have developed antivirus servers for solaris, that act like a central server for the windows clients for actualizations, cleaning shcheduling, etc...
You can take a look and learn about this, for example at trend-micros web page:
