PXE error = PXE-E32: TFTP open timeout
Hi Everyone,
I have a switched network using CISCO switches and also CISCO CNR(Cisco Network Register 6.1) acting as DHCP on my network. I modified the policies for the scope where my clients are connected using PXE to obtain the SCCM and WDS images and i'm having the following error
"PXE error = PXE-E32: TFTP open timeout"
The networking guy told me that the clients using DHCP never tries to connect to the TFTP server on my SCCM and WDS server that are running on a different box than the CNR 6.1.
Also i set the following parameters on my scope policy at the CNR 6.1 to the network segment where the clients are connected:
[011] resource-location-server <ip address of my WDS & SCCM server>
[067] boot-file <name of my .WIM image>
[066] tftp-server <FDQN of my WDS & SCCM server>
If there's more options to set in order to achieve the download of the images from the WDS & SCCM server?
Could someone help?
I'll appreciate your comments,
Cordially,
Oscar.
Hello,
I just accidentally dropped in, searching for the name of the bootfile, that was explained here as SMSBoot\x86\wdsnbp.com. What is important with PXE and tftp is to understand the process, which is actually quite simple. You pass the name of the bootserver and the boot filename bye one of two methods. It is either done through Proxy DHCP, which is implemented on your SCCM server. For this towork, you do not need any changes to your DHCP scope, but you have to add a DHCP helper (also called DHCP relay or BOOTP relay) to the router that you use for the CLIENT segment. The DHCP helper has to point to the WDS/SCCM server. Do not remove any DHCP helpers that are already in the TCP segment.
If this is not an option, you have to go the way that you currently are, and specify options 66 and 67, which point to the server and the bootloader (not the WIM-file) on your SCCM server. This has to be specified relative to the root path of the tftp service on your machine, so the value Kenneth suggested, SMSBoot\x86\wdsnbp.com seems correct. (I don't really know SCCM, but I really do know PXE :-) )
To test tftp:
1. From the client to the server: Download a tftp client (if you run Vista, it can be installed as a feature) and try to download the file. the command should be *similar* to "tftp get SMSBoot\x86\wdsnbp.com"
2. From the server to the client: Disable Microsoft's tftp server and install a freeware/shareware tftpserver that implements logging. Configure the tftp server to use the same directory that Microsoft's tftp server uses. Start tftp server and check the real-time log to see what is going on
Using these methods, you should normally find out quite explicitly what is wrong with your setup :-)
Regards,
Ole Kristian

Im getting the "PXE-32 error when i pxe boot a workstation. I am running
dhcp on a netware server, but zen pxe on linux box. I think it is not
seeing the tftp response file. I have option 60, 66, 67 specified
60 = PXEClient
66=10.205.0.22 (zen server)
67=/srv/tftp/boot/settings.txt
The settings file looks like the right one. Any help would be appreciated.
ThanksIf you have a separate DHCP and PDHCP (pxe) server you shouldn't use the
option 60

I am getting a 'MIDI timeout' error message when I open garageband. I am not using any other apps so why is this happening. Restarting does not solve the issue.
I should also add that I am using core audio, no external MIDI device and Garageband v 6.0.5. Thanks

Error 7 occurred at open vi reference in New Report.VI
Hello!
I use the report generation toolkit on LabView 7.0 to create a report in Excel. The program works fine until I make an executable version. I the get the error:
Error 7 occurred at open vi reference in New Report.VI
I use the New Report.VI, Bring Excel to front.VI and Save Report To File.vi
Can you pleace help me!!!Most likely, you did not include the required libraries in your build script. When building an executable in which you use the Report Generation Toolkit, you must include the _Word Dynamic VIs.vi from _wordsub.llb and _Excel Dynamic VIs.vi from _exclsub.llb as dynamic VIs on the Source Files tab.
Check this article for more info.

Excel service and OWA - getting ERROR while trying to open/edit Excel documents
Hi All,
We have configured SharePoint 2013 with Excel Service and OWA (Office Web Apps).
After configuring, we are able to view/edit Word or PowerPoint documents from the browser (as OWA is configured). But we are getting errors while trying to open/edit Excel documents.
We are not able to view/edit the excel workbook from the browser (through OWA).
To open the excel in the browser, decision has to be taken at the farm level on what to be used – Excel Service or OWA Server? Is it possible to do setting at site collection level?

I just want to download Firefox 3.6 again
I downloaded Firefox 4 onto my PowerPC G4, 1.67GHz running Mac OSX 10.5.6. When I try to open it I get error message You cannot open the application “Firefox” because it is not supported on this architecture.Use Tony's suggestion. I am running it right now and it is awesome. I love Mozilla but they basically screwed all of those older Macs over. Come on Mozilla. These Macs still work, and there are plenty of people with them out there.

I attempted to update itunes to the newest upgrade, and the upgrade was unsucceful, and now this error comes up everytime i try to open itunes (it wont open at all). the error says
Could not open key:
HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Classes\.wav\OpenWithList\iTunes.exe.
Verify that you have sufficent access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
This makes no sense since this is on my home PChmmm. okay, if you're currently just getting the "itunes has encountered an error ..." let's try the following technique.
preliminaries
download and save a fresh copy of the itunes 6.0.1.3 installer to your hard drive. (eventually we're going to run the install from there rather than online.)
iTunes 6.0.1.3 Installer
switch off any antivirus and antispyware applications prior to any uninstalls, installs or repair installs.
uninstall
use the complete uninstall instructions given in the following document to remove your existing itunes and quicktime:
Troubleshooting iTunes, iPod Software, and QuickTime installation on Windows
... and if you run into problems on the uninstall, try using the Installer Cleanup utility:
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
reboot after uninstalling.
reinstall
remember to switch off your antivirus and antispyware.
reinstall itunes using the 6.0.1.3 installer you downloaded previously.
if you get the "itunes has encountered a problem ..." error message again after that install, first check to see if your Quicktime will launch. if you get an error message when you try to launch quicktime, try using the following technique:
iTunes 6 for Windows unexpectedly quits when opened
keep us posted on your progress.

Still unable to download itunes to my pc. Tried with IE, Mozilla and Google Chrome. Keep getting an error message :"Windows cannot open itunes.exe the file is corrupt contact support."previous itunes files were wipped out by "disk cleaner." Any help??
Please!
Thanks! If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem. -
