QAAWS query results differ from live office query results
Hello,
I ran a query in QAAWS using 3 filter components and got different results ( expected a single row and expected the query to sum up the values) Result was 4 dirrent rows for the the same combination
eg) A : B: C value1
A: B:C value 2
A:B:C value3
A:B:C value 4.
I expected A: B:C (value1value2value3+Value4) .
When I run the same query in Live Office I get the correct single row. Somehow the filter condition in QAAWS does not fetch accurate resuls, I removed the filter conditions and still got the same results. I am reviewing the results in the Xcelsius Dashboard. Any thought on this issue.
Thanks
Abhijit
When you are using LO, the query result will be aggregated at report level, based on the aggregation you have selected for the Measure (Your Value). Hence you will get only 1 row. On the other hand QaaWS will not do any aggregation as it just output the querry result. IF you want QaaWS to output aggregated data, you will have to define your querry accordingly. For eg:(Assume that your are working with SQL based database), you can use Sum(Value) as the query defention for your measure.
Hope this helps,
Anil

Filter on date and time from Live Office query panel (Excel)
Hi,
I'd like to know if someone already tried this.
1- Create a univers with 3 fields.
a. Field 1 type date: points to a type date field (ex: 2011-12-31 00:00:00)
b. Field 2 type date: points to a type time field (ex: 17:00:00) -> which is basically 5pm
c. Field 3 type date: points to a type datetime field (ex: 2011-12-31 17:00:00)
2- Open Excel and using Live Office plugins
3- Open the univers
4- Drag the Field 3 as filters.
5- Choose an operator ex: Between, Greater, etc.
6- Open the calendar and select a date
7- Modify the 00:00:00 to put something like 17:00:00
8- Click away
9- The time resets back to 00:00:00
So my question is how do I have to setup the field in the univers so that we can query on the time using the univers in Live Office. I say Live Office because in WEBI, it works fine. Changing the 00:00:00 to something else doesn't make it reset to 00:00:00 when you click elsewhere.
Trying with Field 1 and 2 does the same thing.
Purpose of this is to be able to filter on parts of the day, like am (8am to noon) and pm (1pm to 5pm).
BOXI 3.1 SP3
Windows Server 2008 R2

Live Office 3.1 SP3 (Client)
Excel 2007 (Client)
Windows 7 (Client)
Thanks,
Edited by: Sing Phommavong on Feb 23, 2012 11:24 AMHi n,
please search for your problem in the forum. This has been discussed a lot of times before! (keywords: Excel LabVIEW timestamps)
Excel stores timestamps as number of days (your 41866) and part of days (0.5798d = 13H55M). You need to convert those numbers using some (more or less) simple math to LabVIEW timestamps!

Kudos are welcome -
It is required to get the result set from the last query.
I need this SP to return the result set from the last query.

GOPlease post DDL, so that people do not have to guess what the keys, constraints, Declarative Referential Integrity, data types, etc. in your schema are. Learn how to follow ISO-11179 data element naming conventions and formatting rules (you have no idea).
Temporal data should use ISO-8601 formats. Code should be in Standard SQL as much as possible and not local dialect.
What you did post is bad SQL.
The prefix “tbl-” is a design flaw called tibbling and we do not do it. We seldom use temp tables in RDBMS; it is how magnetic tape file programmers fake scratch tapes.
If the schema is correct, then SELECT DISTINCT is almost never used.
Your “bill_parent” looks like a assembly language bit flag; we never use those flags in SQL.
“Funding_Type_Status” is an absurd name for a table. A status is a state of being, not an entity. A type is an attribute property. So this table ought to be column that is either a “funding_type” or “funding_status” (with the time period for the state of being
shown in other columns). But this hybrid is not possible in a valid data model.
Want to try again, with DDL and some specs?

Results in Query Builder Differ From Report Results
I've got a report I built in SSRS using an SSAS dataset. The problem is that the results differ between the query builder result set and the actual report. For some reason, when running the actual report, certain rows are being filtered out, but yet those
same rows appear in the result set when validating the query in the query builder.
Here's the result set as it appears in query builder:
...and here are the results of the actual report:
As you can see, 3M and Angie's popcorn are not returned in the report. I have no filters defined on the report at all.
This appears to be happening with other result sets for the same report.
No idea why the results are accurate in query builder and then off in the actual report.
Any help would be appreciated!
A. M. RobinsonHi A. M. Robinson,
The issue may be caused by the data cache. When we preview a report, the report processor runs all the queries for datasets in the report using the current parameter defaults, and saves the results as a local data cache (.rdl.data) file. We can continue
to design our report without incurring the overhead of retrieving this data again if we make no changes to either the report dataset queries or the report parameters. Please to delete the cache (.rdl.data) file try to solve the issue.
Reference: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms157366.aspx
Alternative, you can create a similar report to check if the issue is persist.
If the issue is persist, could you please post more detail information about your report design? It is benefit for us to do further analysis.

SAP BW 7.4 - Web results differ from RSRT (HTML) results
Hey Guru´s
We are running SAP 7.4 under SP7. When we execute queries in web environement (IE, Chrome, etc) the results do not match the data in the cube. Furthermore when running the same query under RSRT using the HTML option, the results are correct. Has anyone encountered this issue? If so, what were the correction steps?

Thanks,
AlexThe difference is exclusive to the values. Column and line layouts are ok. The values in the web environment are plotted randomly in wrong columns and possibly lines.
Also the result differs when filtering a single item (0sem_posit in this case). In other words, when running the report with all item the line for a specific item shows one result, and when filtered to that item, the result is different. The query is not input ready either.
We are running under dev environment with a SAP_ALL user, authorization should not be an issue. The selection under both executions (RSRT and Web) are exactly the same.
The original query has selection on hierarchy nodes and hierarchy is active under drilldown. Created a test query removing all user-exit variables and hierarchy, cleaned the cache, but the problem persists. It seems that it may be related to the Java/Webdynpro componentes used in the front-end.

11g SQL query syntax/results differ from 10g
Hello,
A bit of an odd situation. We have a report in 10g that is working as expected and when we run the same report in 11g we slightly different results. The same physical tables and columns are being used between each report and the number of records (17) returned to OBI are the same. Both queries are pulling from the same database with the same user id. As there are differences in how 10g runs queries vs 11g, are there any odd behaviors that I should keep an eye out for in how 11g assembles the data that's returned from the db prior to presenting it on the Analysis?
10g Results (correct):

Inconsistent results returned from the same query
Hi,
My company has a oracle 8i DB as backend for the website it is currently hosting. I wrote a plain SQL select query to retrive results from a table. Usually the query returns 50 to 100 records. We build an xml based on the results and cache the xml for subsequent user hits.
But atleast once or twice a day we get a problem where it returns almost no records. So the resulting xml will be blank and from there on until we delete the cached xml the user sees the page as blank.
I wonder why this happens, does this happen because of more hits to the oracle database?. Or is it because of the indexes created on the table?. Is oracle not able to handle multiple user requests?. We get mostly like 10 to 20 people clicking at the same time. I don't know what is causing the failure.
Does any of you have this inconsistency problems with Oracle?
Thanks in advance

XSQL results differ from SQL Plus
Hello,
I have a view table that contains a CAST(MULTISET( statement. Does anyone know the restrictions placed on this statement? If I copy out the 'select' portion of my view table and paste it into SQL Plus, it works every time without problems. However, if I call my XSQL file from within my browser, I get the following:
<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<ERROR>oracle.xml.sql.OracleXMLSQLException: java.lang.NegativeArraySizeException</ERROR>
Or, it will display most of the data, but leave out some. I don't understand why it returns some of the data but leaves out other relevant data. Following are portions of my scripts:
create or replace type exp_descriptive_t as object (
room_id number(10),
attribute_id number(10),
description VARCHAR2(50),
quantity number(5),
name VARCHAR2(50)
create or replace type exp_descriptive_list as table of exp_descriptive_t;
create or replace type exp_property_t as object (
P_ID NUMBER(10),
.(other columns)
descriptives exp_descriptive_list);
CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW Exp_Property_View of exp_property_t
with object OID (p_id)
AS SELECT
P_ID,
(other columns here),
cast(multiset(select p_attributes.room_id, p_attributes.ATTRIBUTE_ID,a_list.description, p_attributes.quantity, r_list.name
FROM p_attributes, a_list, r_list WHERE p_attributes.p_id = prop.p_id and p_attributes.attribute_id = a_list.attribute_id and p_attributes.room_id = r_list.room_id )as exp_descriptive_list) descriptives,
FROM prop
nullWhen stuff like that happens to me it's usually because CF
and QA are pointing to different databases. -
KE30 report: results differ from FI Profit & Loss
Dear SAP gurus
I am supporting a client who is running CO-PA on Release 4.0b.
The problem we have is that the Gross sales in FI is different from that in CO-PA business units. I need to find out how to resolve this.
Kind regards
ManetteHi
1. Execute KE24 and downaload the line items to excel.. Ensure that you have the field "Reference" downloaded to excel... This is your SD billing document No.. Also, download the Value Field of Sales revenue
2. Execute Fbl5N with sales revenue GL and download the same to excel with reference or any other field where the SD billing doc no is populated
Now do a V LOOKUP in excel and you would come to know
Primary reasons could be
1. Pendin invoices in VFX3
2. Manual postings made from FI which are not posted in COPA (i.e. Cost Ele catg 11 posted to Profit centers)
3. +/- sign not used properly in KE4I

Excelsisu Best Data Connectivity Approach: BI Services & Live Office?
Hi guys,
I the next months we have planned to develop several Excelsius dashboards based on existing web intelligence queries. After carefully reading all documentation we have concluded that for this purpose the most suitable approaches for data connectivity are:
- Use BI Services (Qaaws method)
- Use Live Office
Leaving apart license considerations (we have Live Office licenses) we are internally discussing about which should be the choosen method to develop all dashboards.
Both seems to fullfill basic requirements: security restrictions, access to special data (totals, orders by)
Question is: what is your opinion about? Considering the future release of SP4 do you know which method best fit future migrations?Hi,
You have three options currently. QaaWS, BI Services and Live Office.
In BI4.0 QaaWS is effectively replaced by the query pane in Xcelsius, which lets you connect an Xcelsius model directly to a universe.
In BI4.0, you can also create BI Services from the web client, you no longer need to use the Webi Rich Client.
Read this for an overview and comparison of the three. http://blog.davidg.com.au/2011/04/live-office-vs-qaaws-vs-bi-services.html
Having just migrated a dashboard with 44 connections from Live Office to BI Services, I can tell you that BI Services are much faster, and easier to work with.
Hope that helps. -
Live office based dashboard - issue in Exporting to PPT
Hello All,
We're currently developing dashboards on sap bw queries.
The architecture is SAP BW Query->WEBI 4.0 -> LIve OFfice->Dashboard
Everything is working as expected and we're able to execute dashboards on Infoview.
But, there seems to be some issue when we try to export the dashboard to power point.
We get a strange message "Error #2060".
When we export to pdf , it works as expected.
We have implemented all steps required to make the file/folder Trusted :
<To make a file trusted in Adobe Flash Player Settings Manager
If you want to run a model locally, you must add the file location to the trusted locations in the Adobe
Flash Player Settings Manager.
1. To open the Adobe Flash Player Settings Manager, go to http://www.macromedia.com/support/doc
umentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html.
2. On the Adobe Flash Player Settings Manager page, in the "Table of Contents", click Global Security
Panel Settings.
3. Select the Always Allow option.
4. In the Always trust files in these locations list, select Edit locations > Add location.
5. Browse to the location of the SWF file (or container file such as PowerPoint, HTML, and so on) and
click Open.
6. Click Confirm.>
Aslo , we have updated the crossdomain.xml file in the root folder ,the new crossdomain.xml file is as below:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM
"http://www.macromedia.com/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd ">
<cross-domain-policy>
<allow-http-request-headers-from domain="" headers="" secure="false" />
<allow-access-from domain="*" secure="false" />
</cross-domain-policy>
We are successfully able to execute dashboards when exported to PDF files,
but when we try the same with word or powerpoint it throws error #2060.
Any pointers with respect to this is highly appreciated.
Thanks and Regards,
VinayHello all,
We were able to resolve the issue by adding the Office folder ( in program files)
in the trusted files/folder path of adobe global security panel settings.
Thanks and regards,

Apex report result doesn't agree with the result of sql developer
Hello guys,
at the moment I try to create a standard report which takes his content from several spreadsheets. Because of some problems with the searchbar I'm not able to use an interactive report. The sql query contains a function, which sets some space characters into the content of a column. But there is a big problem. When I call my sql query in apex from the spreadsheets the result doesn't agree with the result which affords the sql developer.
I know that the sql developer affords the right result.
best regards

select "TWORKITEM"."WORKITEMKEY",
"TWORKITEM"."PROJCATKEY",
"TPROJECT"."LABEL",
"TWORKITEM"."PACKAGESYNOPSYS",
replace(replace("TWORKITEM"."PACKAGEDESCRIPTION", chr(10), '<br>'),'<td></td>','<td></td>') packagedesc,
suche_ohne_ti_be("TWORKITEM"."WORKITEMKEY") "CHANGEDESCRIPTION"
from "TWORKITEM" "TWORKITEM", "TPROJECT" "TPROJECT", "TPROJCAT" "TPROJCAT"
where "TWORKITEM"."PROJCATKEY" = "TPROJCAT"."PKEY"
and "TPROJCAT"."PROJKEY" = "TPROJECT"."PKEY"
and (instr(upper("TWORKITEM"."WORKITEMKEY"), upper(nvl(:P10_SEARCHTEXT, "TWORKITEM"."WORKITEMKEY"))) > 0
or instr(upper("TPROJECT"."LABEL"), upper(nvl(:P10_SEARCHTEXT, "TPROJECT"."LABEL"))) > 0
or instr(upper("TWORKITEM"."PACKAGESYNOPSYS"), upper(nvl(:P10_SEARCHTEXT, "TWORKITEM"."PACKAGESYNOPSYS"))) > 0
or instr(upper("TWORKITEM"."PACKAGEDESCRIPTION"), upper(nvl(:P10_SEARCHTEXT, "TWORKITEM"."PACKAGEDESCRIPTION"))) > 0
or instr(upper(suche_ohne_ti_be("TWORKITEM"."WORKITEMKEY")), upper(nvl(:P10_SEARCHTEXT, "TWORKITEM"."WORKITEMKEY")))>0
I mean with spreadsheets some tables/charts. And I take those informations from 3 of them.

WebI report based on BEx query in Live Office document
Hi
We have a BEx query in BW that has one input ready variable (period). Then we have created a WebI report based on this BEx query (the WebI report itself does not have any prompts). When we run the WebI report we get asked to enter a value in the BEx variable (remember: this is not a WebI prompt). Until this stage everything works fine. Then we have created a Live Office document and added the WebI report. When we refresh the Live Office document, the BEX variable is not shown. The data that is retrieved is from the last time the WebI report run. The refresh option is set to u201COn demand: From the databaseu201D.
Is there a way to get the BEx variables to be shown when refreshing the Live Office document? Remember, we do not use WebI prompts.
We use BW 7.3 and BO BI 4.0.
Kind regards
ErikHi,
Unfortunately, this feature has not been developped the BICS connectiviy. It is only available for manda
tory prompts based on universe. Others have noted the same problem, so there is an enhancement request for the feature to be available using BICS connection in the "Ideas Place".
Use the link to vote for the idea, more votes gives a better chance that this will be picked up for development.

Last Result from Fulltext SQL Query Search Not Showing
I am creating a custom search results page for MOSS 2007 (using inline .aspx code - don't ask) that uses Fulltext SQL Queries. I get the results in a ResultTable (see code below) and then use a DataTable to write code to display it (I could have used
a DataGrid, I know).
The problem is that the last result is not showing. So, if it reports that there are 5 results, only 4 will show. I have verified that all 5 results do exist (using a slightly broadened query). If it reports 1 result, none exist in the DataTable that loads
the result data from the ResultTable.
FullTextSqlQuery query = new FullTextSqlQuery(site);
query.ResultTypes = ResultType.RelevantResults;
query.QueryText = qry;
query.RowLimit = 50;
query.StartRow = iPage;
try
ResultTableCollection results = query.Execute();
ResultTable resultTable = results[ResultType.RelevantResults];
DataTable table = new DataTable();
table.Load(resultTable, LoadOption.OverwriteChanges);
int n = resultTable.TotalRows;
The variable "qry" is a valid SQL Query with the relevant clauses.
I am using a foreach loop to go through "table" (a DataTable), and so I do not think that I have a "one-off error".
Any suggestions would be most welcome.So in results you have all items but when you are loading it into table (type DataTable) you are loosing one last record.
1) First you check what data you are getting in resultTable - as you are specifying RelevantResult
2) Check last index of data in ResultTable collection and try to find out the last index ResultTable, or try to find last index of data in result table
DataTable.Load method accepts parm of type IDataReader and IDatareader, there are cases it looses records if not read properly..check below links
