Qualified Update - Timestamp field

Hi All,
I'm having a qualified lookup FIELD1 and a timestamp field STAMP1 checking for changes in FIELD1, both in main table.
When I'm creating/deleting or updating qualified links in MDM Data Manager STAMP1 behaves as expected and displays the time of update.
BUT: when I'm using the MDM Import Server to create/update the qualified links STAMP1 doesn't get notice of it.
Anybody experienced this or knows how to fix this?

I'm really sure. I can see how the qualified link gets created and the modification date doesn't change. The same happens when I update the link with new values.

CMP 2 non mandatory timestamp field in Oracle 9 release 2

My machine holds the following:
Win XP pro SP 1
Oracle 9i release 2 DB
Jbuilder X enterprise Edition with SUN ONE App Server plugin
SUN ONE Application server platform edition update 2
They are all in the same machine (so there is no problem as issue 4707531 of using different Oracle drivers)
I connect using OCI not thin.
I got the following problem when trying to test my Session EJB that calls CMP.

Could you please verify that your .dbschmea file and table creation scripts are in sync. The easiest way to achieve this is to recapture the .dbschema file, repackage and redeploy.

Adding a timestamp field to a table (MySQL database)

I've defined a field in a MySQL table as type 'timestamp'
eg. 2010-05-25 21:36:19
When I perform an insert using coldfusion, the row doesn't change the value in the timestamp automatically
Am I better creating my own timestamp field, type varchar and manually insert my timestamp values ?

No, it is a pretty bad idea to use a text field to store date-time information. It makes it much harder to do date and|or time calculations on the data.
A timestamp field does not mean you have a field that automatically inserts a timestamp on record insert and|or update. Just that you have a field that expects a 'timestamp' value which is usually a date-time value down to the millisecond precision.
You can set up the database to automatically create this value when data is inserted and|or updated, but that is more then just creating the timestamp field. And the specifics will change depending on your exact database management system. Searching the internets for information on your database managerment system of choice and auto and|or default values for fields should guide you in the correct direction.
Or you can insert timestamp data along with the other data you are inputting into the database. The now() function combined with the <cfqueryparam value="#timeData#" cfsqltype="cf_sql_timestamp"> is a useful combination to do this.

Use of Timestamp field in Syndicator selection.

I have a timestamp field in repository to check the updates for some 2-3 fields & I want to use This timestamp fieldas selection parameter for syndication. ie. basically to syndicate the records only if timestamp = Today or current date . Do you know How this can be done ?

Hi Anand,
I faced this kind of a requirement. Actually I doubt whether this can be achieved by syndicator.
However I can give you a Workaround.
You can write a Validation which will compare the Time stamp value and the System Time. Keep the difference as 1 second.
Use the Validation in a Workflow.
So as soon as any of those 2 or 3 fields gets updated, the Workflow will automatically catch them and then you can use the SYNDICATE stencil and the records will get syndicated to the port you mention.
This is how I was able to do it.

In the delta process, the DataSource transfers the record data with the new status in each case. For this reason, the data cannot be updated directly to the InfoCube. The update is only possible using the ODS object (update with MOVE).
For safety, the delta process uses a lower interval setting of one hour (this is the default setting). In this way, the system always transfers all postings made between one hour before the last delta upload and the current time. The overlap of the first hour of a delta upload causes any records that are extracted twice to be overwritten by the after image process in the ODS object with the MOVE update. This ensures 100% data consistency in BW.

Qualified Updated Selections not Saved in Import Map

Hello,
I create a new Import Map and Set the Qualified Update setting on a qualified table. When I reopen the map, the Qualified Update option is saved but not the selections for the qualified update. The defaults are saved: all fields are selected as matching qualifers. Create = blank, Existing = blank.
I have tried to recreate a new map and get the same results. Any ideas?

We are having qualified multi-valued look up field in the main table. Using import map for the main table record update, we are trying to delete the qualified look up field value. But it is not working.
Please guide on how you have achieved this.
One approach is to supply NULL value, though I am not sure or have tried this.

I assume that you are trying to delete the Qualifier values for the Qualified look up table. The only possibility is to pass the Null values to the already Existing records in the Main table. Please note that if you are passing one Null value only one record will get deleted. So you will have to pass the Null values equivalent to the number of values for the Multi Valued Qualified table.

How to get the time difference (in seconds) between two timestamp fields?

I'm exploring validation expressions in SAP MDM Data Manager version 7.1.07.245
I have two timestamp fields, suppose Update Date and Update-GDS.
What I'm trying to do is prompt a warning when:
(Update Date minus Update-GDS) is greater than or equal to zero seconds
AND
(Update Date minus Update-GDS) is less than or equal to 900 seconds
the bottomline is, Update Date must be equal or greater than to Update-GDS but Update Date must not exceed 900 seconds difference.
my initial try was:
(Update Date - Update-GDS)>=0 s AND (Update Date - Update-GDS)<=900 s
But it always returns true even the time difference between update date and update-gds is beyond the condition.
Can you please guide me through this?

I tried your code but it always returns true.
It seems subtraction of timestamp fields do not actually get the time difference... (in seconds)
Is this possible anyway? Or is there any other better approach on this?

Writing the value from an unbound Date picker field to a timestamp field.

I am having a frustrating time trying to write the results of a date field to a Timestamp field in an oracle10 table in APEX 3.1. The Date Picker correctly returns 01-JUN-2008 23:59 into the date picker page item :P60_EXTENTION_DATE (As a varchar I believe).
Using a plsql function similar to the following I am trying to write the date to a timestamp field eg.
begin
update customers set extention_date = :P60_EXTENTION_DATE where ROW_ID = 34;
end;
This without fail this gives me stupid errors it wants 2 digit years, it wants AM/PM.
I have tried this:
update customers set extention_date = to_date(:P60_EXTENTION_DATE) where ROW_ID = 34;
and:
update customers set extention_date = to_date(:P60_EXTENTION_DATE,'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI') where ROW_ID = 34;
How can the date picker return a date that oracle "ORA-01821: date format not recognized" ? It just seems un-intuitive (fricken retarded) to me.
I have tried about 30 combinations date picker, to_date formats etc. and it is driving me nuts, can someone please tell me which combination of date picker and to_date function I need to make this work.

Generic Delta based off TimeStamp field is extracting full load

I have a generic delta in place which is extracting a full load every time instead of only extracting the changes.
I have created a generic delta based off a timestamp using a "Last Changed by" field of type Dec15, format YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.
This datasource is populated via a FM which is only used to update two fields, all other fields (including last changed by field) are taken straight from the source table. Entries to the last changed by field are entered like this:
20080310021530, then show up like this: 20,080,310,021,530.
All relevent entries are showing in the tables ROOSOURCE, ROOSGENDLM, and ROOSPRMSC. There is also an entry in RSA7, status Green, Total = 1, and Status is showing the correct Delta relevent field as well as the correct timestamp of the last extraction.
The entry in ROOSGENDLM contains:
Current Pointer Repeat Pointer
20080320091503 20080320091653
Yet every time I extract a "delta" from BI, it pulls a full load.
Does anyone have an idea of how I can get the generic delta to work properly? I'm using 7.0 transformation/DTP. This field in BI uses a routine to convert the timestamp to a date field. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think I found the issue. This timestamp is UTC timestamp, and until we implement SP13 (which is being onboarded in a week), this type of timestamp is not delta-relevent. Only timestamps on the local application server are delta-relevent pre-SP13, which can cause issues if the time is updated in a different timesone (to the east) of the application server.

Getting a permission error while updating a field.

Error in updating ALV field catalog in selection tool for Planning Book

I am Implementing BADI '/SAPAPO/SDP_SELECTOR' to upload Custom Fields Data in Planning Book Selection Window under APO Location Product. These Custom Fields are maintained in Custom Table.So from Table whatever Custom Fields are availabe all the fields needs to be available in for selection. Once selection is done the same data to be uploaded into Planning Book.
This BADI is working Fine upto 4 fields but if any extra fields are added in the table 'Error in updating ALV field catalog in selection tool' error Pop Up is coming. Here i am using Folloowing Methods
1). INIT_OBJECT_LIST
2). F4
3). LOC_PROD_VALUE_LIST
Please help on the same if u have any idea or clue.

Error in updating ALV field catalog in selection

Unable to update a field using the Data tab on a VIEW

When viewing data using a VIEW instead of going to the table directly, am unable to change the values in any of the fields
When I click on the list of VIEWs for a schema, then select a view that is based on a SELECT statement for a single table with a Primary key, and then click on the DATA tab to modify the value in one of the fields, SQL Developer does not allow me to change the value.
Went into SQL Plus, and was able to execute an UPDATE statement against the same row of that VIEW, and update that field ("UPDATE vw_mytable SET thisfield = 'YES' WHEN row_id_number = 1'").
Does SQL Developer not allow updating tables through a VIEW?
Will it allow updating in the future? Please say yes.
Oracle 10g DB and latest version of SQL Developer.
