Query created on Multiprovider

Hi frnds,
I created a multiprovider on two cubes and created a query in query designer on this multiprovider and executed the report.
In the query output, the values from two cubes are displayed in two different lines.
Suppose take a field, 0material.For this field, the values coming from one cube are displayed in one line and the values of this material coming from 2nd cube are displayed in next line. And that too if the 2nd cube doesnot have any value for this field 0material, it is displayig as '#' ( Not Assigned ).
My requirement is:
-->How to combine the records coming as 2 different records from 2 infocubes into a single record.
-->If a field value is not coming then it should be left blank. It should not display '#'.
Full points will be assigned.

I am also facing the same problem .
i'm merging Data from FI using Acc doc no & MM using PO. the 1:1 relationship between both is already thr.
but still i am getting two records
CC    CO    PC      Amt      INV
30      #      400     1000
30     300      #                 1000
but i want to see this one line as both refer to the same transcation
30     300     400     1000     1000
i tried using a infoset with inner join - here it is not picking many records
infoset with outer join - here the output is same as above.
can someone suggest a better way to do this ?

Hi Vamsi,
The structure from the base cubes will not automatically be available for the queries created on the multiprovider. The only way to get the structure there is to copy a query from the base cube to the multiprovider. You can use transaction RSZC to do this.

Problem with Dimension created in Multiprovider

Hi,
I have a multiprovider which has 5 Infocubes in it. There are seperate reports on both Infocube & Multiprovider. I added 2 new fields in a Infocube under a new dimension. I need this 2 fileds to be added to the Reports too. When i open the Query written on Infocube in Query Designer, i could see the fields on the left panel under the new dimension.
But, when i open the Query written on Multiprovider, i was not able to see the fields. So, i went to the Multiprovider in Backend, created a new dimension in the Multiprovider and added the 2 fields there. Now, i was able to see the fields in the Query written on Multiprovider too. I could see the changes reflecting in both the Queries. I did this in BI Development system.
Now the problem comes when transporting the Object to BI Quality system. When transporting the request, the transport is getting failed with the Error message "Dimension ZFIAA_MC14 not used; please delete". This is the dimension i have created in the Multiprovider. Now, if i delete the dimension in the Multiprovider the Multiprovider query will get affected. If i dont delete the dimension, the request cant be moved to BI Quality system. I am confused on how to proceed now.
Can anybody suggest me on what to do now? Thanks for your time.

Try to assign the infoobjects in that dimension to the respective infocube to fetch the data.
This can be done by right click on the infoobject and select assign-- check the check box of relevant info provider.
2. Transport first the infocube. then transport the Multi provider will resolve the issue.

Can we add new cubes and ODS after creating the multiprovider?

Hi all,
i created a multiprovider on a cube and ODS. Now i needed one more charactersitic from other cube.then i did change multiprovider and then add that new cube and did the identification, and adjusted the query, when i ran the query it is showing chracteristic as # and not assigned. I even tried bringing in 0infoprovider object to see whether data is coming from third infoprovider, it is not showing up any data from third one. i tried logging out of bex and logging back in.....but still no use..............i am wondering now, once a multiprovider is created can new infoprovider be added to it ?
i am even able to see the new key figures and chracteristic in my query.but data is not getting populated...i also checked and found that the data is available in the infoproviders....
plz help me out..

nice to see your answer, I saw a lot of helpful posts on SDN by you.
I did the RSRT with debug multiprovider, it said,
0FISCPER: General restriction for InfoProvider ZSD_C12 not possible
Access to ZSD_C12 was excluded
now i corrected it, it is populating the key figure now but not the chracteristic still.....the chracteristic is still getting value only from one of the info providers
importantly, when i bring infoprovider above the keyfigures space on query, it still only shows two info providers for each key figure and not the third one ,the key figure coming the third one is only shown in overall result. how can i solve this?
i tried rsr_gen_direct_all_queries as told by krian, but still cant get the data in the report. i did list cube on mulitiprovider and i see the data for that chracteristic there....
are there any other options in RSRT to find possible setting faults....

Doubts while creating a Multiprovider

Hi experts,
I have a purchasing cube. Our requirement is to add some more fields in this cube.
But i found those extra fields in all the three of my GL cube AR cube AP Cube.
So i want to make a multiprovider between purchasing cube and from one of these three cubes.
My question is , related to purchase for making multiprovider which cube i need to take i.e. ( AR cube or AP cube or GL cube ).
And also suppose in multiprovider if i am using two cubes, as per my knowledge atleast one field should be common to make a multiprovider.
Suppose if we have accounting doc no ( 0ac_doc_no ) in both the cubes.In assignment of chars we will tick for 0acc_doc_no in both the cubes.
If we have 0clr_doc_no in both the cubes and if we want 0clr_doc_no also in the multiprovider then in assignments of characteristics do we need to tick for this in both the cubes ?
If we tick only in one cube will it bring the data from only one cube ?
And also if we tick in both the cubes then will the multiprovider brings the data from both the cubes ?
Please explain me in simple words. I went through so many links but i am not clear.

Hi,
Since you are concerned with the purchasing cube i say you shaould use (AP and AR) (i.e. account receival and account payable) as both these tables are mutually related , As GL could be a stand alone too.
So in case you just want to add an extra field GL will do but going with the real essence of purchase AR and AP are more suited once.
Now for creating a multiprovider its a mandate to mark the common field in all the info providers involved since then only the join condition between the master data tables of the providers work out.
There won't be any duplication in data since all the entries with same field id i.e.0ac_doc_no in your case are merged together to give a unique entry in a ovveride cube.So an account receval entry in AR table and account payable entry in AP will be merged to from a unique value for they act as "Contra entries"
Def : Contra entry : some transactions are recorded in three column cash book
which relates to both cash & bank i.e. balance of one will
decrease and other will increase due to such transactions.
such transactions are entered on both sides of the cash
book . such entries are known as Contra Entry.Hope this will serve your cause to end.

Error while creating the Multiprovider

Hi all,
I am creating a Multiprovider by using 3 cubes. while i am activating the multiprovider its throwing Error as "Assignments for InfoObject "xyz" have not yet been maintained -> Long text"
for all the infoobjects which r present in the multiprovider
plz throw some light on it.

Did you selected that infoobject under identify charactristic or select keyfigure in the multiprovider?
If not select the check for that InfoObject depend on charactristic or keyfigure and then try to activate.

Error while executing BEx query made on Multiprovider having Virtual cube

Hi All,
We are getting an error message while executing a BEX query made on Multiprovide which consist of a Virtual Infocube infocube which extracts data from APO Live Cache, the error which we get is as below
''Error Reading the data of the infoprovider ZSS_R054
Error in Substep
Errors have occured while extracting data from datasource 9A_E2E_FC2
Errors occured during parallel processing of query 4, RC:3
Error while reading data; navigation is possible''
And also when tried to execute from RSRT , it gets executed in debug mode in TRY and CATCHE
Please let us know if anyone faced a similar situation or can suggest me what to do.

Hi Ajay,
Try RSRV transaction, Select All Elementary Tests, Select query, now drag both these items on the right hand pane, select your query from this popup. and execute.

Issue in query created on infoset - characterstic values are not displayed

Hi,
We have created a query based on an infoset(customized). In this query, values of only one object(sold-to-party) is not displayed. Where as for the same object, values are displayed in the other query created based on the respective ODS.
note : Query based on infoset is alone not coming.
This is the description of the error -
System error in program CL_RSMD_RS and IF_RSMD_RS-READ_META_DATA-02. and it is showing (No entries found).
And apart from that, the values of their respective attributes are also not displayed in the report.
I even verified the object in RSA1 where data is available for that.
Need Help to solve ....

Query created in which system

How to find out the query created in which system like Dev or ACC or Prod.
For ex. I want to find the queries directly created in Production.

unfortunately there is no tool for that. So I think one way is to compare the content of table rszeltdir in both systems. Restrict the output on deftp = 'REP' and check the fields mapname and txtsh and txtlg. If you have the queries identified, check if they are assigned to a development class/packet in the productive system. If this is not the case, you have your candidates for deletion. You can then delete the queries using transaction rszdelete.

PS: you may run rszdelete anyways, as you can check a box there for temporary objects only (those will be the ones in question)

Hi,
Queries are not saved under any transport request.
We would have to go to transaction sq02 and click on the 'Transport' button ( with truck icon).
In the screen specify your query name, infoset name, and usergroup name and select the option 'Download'.
Save the downloaded file on your desktop.
In your quality or production system, go to SQ02 and click on teh same button,
select 'Upload' and specify the name of the query, infoset and usergroup which you want to upload.
Select the downloaded file.
Select the option 'Overwritting allowed' as applicable.

From the menu on top in SQVI or SQ01 transactions, choose Query -> More functions -> Generate program. Then choose Query -> More functions -> Display report name. This report is an ABAP report (just like any other ABAP program). Please check with an ABAPer if this report can be pushed into a Workbench Transport request, so you could then move it to QA and Prod.

Hi Arun,
MultiProvider is a special InfoProvider which combine data from several InfoProviders for its own reporting, without actually holding any physical data itself (i.e. its data comes exclusively from the InfoProviders on which it is based), then, it can only use an InfoProvider that is ready and available for reporting, in which case, the Transactional ODS object is not one of them. Therefore, to include a Transactional ODS object in a MultiProvider, you would have to first define an Infoset for the Transactional ODS object.
A MultiProvider can be made of of various combinations of the following InfoProviders:
1. InfoCubes
2. ODS Objects (Standard only)
3. InfoObjects
4. InfoSets
You can start by creating a multiprovider by right clicking the Infoarea and choosing the create multiprovider option. Creating a multiprovider is similar to creating a cube as you need to choose chars and KF from the base objects and then assign the dimensions. The additional steps to do are configure the Identification (for chars) and Selection ( for KF) screens.
