Query executes in RSRT but not in BEx Analyzer

Hi Everyone,
I have a query for an infocube and ods object, in the bex analyzer for the infocube the query executes which has around 5000 records but for the ods object which has also 5000 records comes up with this error.
<b>An exception with the type CX_SY_EXPORT_NO_SHARED_MEMORY occurred, but was
neither handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING
Message no. RS_EXCEPTION000</b>
when I execute the query in RSRT it comes up.
After closing and re logging into bex analyzer executes the query for the first but for the second time again it throws up this error.
What could be the problem? Can anyone please let me know. Its really really urgent.
Thanks,
Prashant.

hi Prashant,
try check in RSRT, after choose your query, click 'properties' and set cache mode to 'main memory cache without swapping'.
also check oss note 656060-OLAP: Cache main memory displacement not functioning.
hope this helps.
Symptom
Although one of the following two cache modes
Main Memory Cache Without Swapping (mode 1)
Main Memory Cache With Swapping (mode 2)
is set for a query, long runtimes occur when you execute the query. The statistics (table RSDDSTAT) display the database times.
If there is a heavy system load, the following message can also appear: RS_EXCEPTION000: No left space in shared memory.
Other terms
Cache, performance, displacement, shared buffer
Reason and Prerequisites
This problem occurs because the shared memory is insufficiently dimensioned.
<b>Solution</b>
Increase the amount of shared memory. The size of the shared memory should be at least 200 MB. You can refer to transaction RSRCACHE for the amount of memory reserved by the main memory cache (RSRCACHE -> Main Memory: Shared Memory/Buffer Reserved).
The corresponding settings are (at least):
rsdb/esm/buffersize_kb = 200000
and, as a precaution, also
rsdb/esm/max_objects = 10000.
Alternatively, for queries with large resulting quantities, you can convert the Cache Mode in transaction RSRT1 to
Cluster/Flat File Cache for Each Application Server (mode 3)
Cluster/Flat File Cache Across Each Application Server (mode 4)

  • Urgent: Variable Screen appears in RSRT but not in BEx

    Hello Gurus,
I created a query with a selection screen. I used customer exit variables in it (Step 1 variables with "Ready for Input" option enabled). The screen appears very fast when I execute in RSRT. But, it doesn't appear when I execute the query in BEx (so, no report output also).
Please help in solving this issue.
    Quick replies are highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Aarthi.

    Hi Venkat,
    Thanks for your time.
I am have 7 variable in total.
    1. Read Date_1  (Default value is system-date using customer exit (step 1). Also user can overwrite the entry in the pop-up screen)
    2. Read Date_2  (Default value is system-date using customer exit (step 1). Also user can overwrite the entry in the pop-up screen)
    3. Assign the value of Date_1 to 3rd variable in exit after the pop-up.
4, 5, 6 & 7: Variables are normal variables for user to provide input for Branch, Company, etc (No customer exit).
In the development environment, it is working fine in both, RSRT and BEx.
When it is moved to QA environment, the variable screen does not pops up in BEx. But, in RSRT it pops up in QA too.
    Don't know what is happening.
    Thanks,
    Aarthi

  • Getting Data from RSRT but not from Bex Analyser

    Hi All,
I am facing a strange issue with Bex Analyser(BI 7.0). When a user trying to execute a query/report he is not able see the input values what he supposed to see in parameters screen(Instead of his authorised values he is getting some other values in input parameters, eventhough he has sufficient authorisations (may be history)).
When I tried to execute the same report from RSRT, everything is fine, I have tried another option as well.. that is I have copied the same access and executed with that then its working fine. I have cleared the cache from RSRT and tried. but no luck.
If anyone come across to the same issue please let me know.
    Thanks
    Mani

    Hi BI-2010
In rsudo transaction I can see the values as per the user profile. The issue with only Bex Analyser and one more thing I have created another userid with the same access and it works fine.
And he didnt do the Bex personalisation.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I have a query with 8 custom variables.  When I run it in RSRT I get the correct results.  When I run it in Bex, the results are incorrect and I can see that the custom variables didn't get to the query.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello,
Try to install the latest patches for BEx and see if it still works.

  • SQL query can be executed through TOAD but not through Discoverer

    Hallo, everybody:
Got another problem. A SQL query can be executed through TOAD, but when I want to execute it by a worksheet of Discoverer Plus, it always shows there is no data.
PS: I copied this query from Discoverer Plus to TOAD, which means, this query is generated through the Discoverer. Does anybody know about how could it be?
    Thank you.
    Geng

    Hi,
If you are able to get data in TOAD with the same user credential as that of Discoverer Plus then it will implies an issue with Discoverer.
Else it is privilege issue , your TOAD user has select privilege to the base objects (tables/views etc) where as your Disoverer used does not.
Compare the privileges granted to these 2 users and you can narrow done to the issue .
    Thanks,
    Sutirtha

  • Query Executed in Portal do not show entry in RSDDSTAT_DM

    Hi
We are on BI 7 and I am tuning one query. The User has complained that in BEX it doesn't take time but in Portal it takes time.  I have created 1 Aggregate and the query is using the aggregate. This is confirmed as I have executed the query in RSRT.I can get the DB time in RSDDSTAT_DM table.
I have executed the same query Portal but the query details is not reflected in table RSDDSTAT_DM . I have to confirm that even in Portal it is using the aggregate and I need the time it takes to run the query in the portal .
    Kind regards,
    Yogi

This should create an entry in RSDDSTAT_DM. Try this.
    1. Launch the query in the Portal
    2. Add "&PROFILING=X" to the end of the URL.
    3. This should provide performance information at runtime...

  • Query works in preview, but not when added under a Query Group

    Hello Experts-
I'm trying to use this query as one of the options under the drop down on the Supplier Search under the Supplier Management.
    Error message:
while trying to invoke the method com.sap.odp.comp.query.QueryParamValue.getPromptParamDef() of a null
object loaded from local variable 'paramValue' while trying to invoke the method
    com.sap.odp.comp.query.QueryParamValue.getPromptParamDef() of a null object
    loaded from local variable 'paramValue'
The query itself is complicated, but it works fine when executed under preview.
Wondering if any one has ever seen this behavior and knows of any typical causes?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Thanks for the offer, Vignesh.
Sorry, I'm currently having trouble duplicating it, but next time it happens I'll try to get some screenshots.
I have narrowed it down to blank values in optional string fields when the query loads. I fixed (kind of) the ones I was having trouble with by rearranging the filter parameters so there would not be blanks.
    Thanks again,
    Mike

  • FOX Formula works in IP Modeler but not in BEx Workbook

Hi, I've created a FOX function to do a series of actions.
If I test the function with a simple filter and execute with trace in Modeler I get exactly the results I want. For example, 5 rows read, 4 rows modified, 4 rows deleted.
If I add the function as a button on a workbook associated with a data provider (input-ready query) I only get 5 rows read but no rows modified or deleted.
What is happening? Is there a way to know exactly why he is reading the data but not changing it as required? I think the function is reading the same set of data because it is finding 5 rows in both cases. Any ideas on how I can debug the function or find what what kind of data the function is reading or not reading so that it doesn't execute the code?

One final question. I am trying to use the sequence in the workbook. I want the variables used by the sequence (in the planning function) to take the values that I entered in the query when entering the workbook. I am using the same variables in both places.
    CMD                                         1 EXECUTE_PLANNING_SEQUENCE
    PLANNING_SEQUENCE_NAME 1 PL06_PS01
    VAR_NAME_1                           1 FISCY
    VAR_NAME_2                           1 Y_VERSION
    VAR_NAME_3                           1 YBP_FCTR_INT
If I execute like this I get error messages saying I am missing VAR_VALUE_1 and so on but the sequence executes as I intended. What is happening? Do I need to add the VAR_VALUE lines? I don't think so... so why the error messages if the sequence is running and working properly now?
Additional points will be distributed for help on this issue.

  • Query running in Quality but not in Production

    Hi Folks,
we are running a query AQICSDUSERS=====MOVEMENTLIST4= which used to get executed previously, but all of a sudden now after running for an hour or so it is coming back to  sap easy access screen without displaying the report. It is running and giving the report in Quality but not in Production.
    What could be the reason?
    K.Kiran.

    Hi Folks,
    From DUMP I got this:-
<b>You should usually execute long-running programs as batch jobs.
If this is not possible, increase the system profile parameter
    "rdisp/max_wprun_time".</b>
I want to know how to increase the system profile parameter
    "rdisp/max_wprun_time".
    Thanks,

  • Query works in Report but not during Edit session

I have a report based on an SQL query, and it works perfectly from the menu in Development. It's also in Test and Production, and it works there, too. I want to change the template it's on, so I went in through the Navigator to open up and change the report. The Edit session opens up to the query, but I cannot move to any of the other tags, because it says the query is "not valid".
It won't allow me to save the query 'as is', because it supposedly isn't valid. The report isn't locked, and prior versions (I went back to view five of them) have the same trouble. How can the query work off the menu, but not be 'valid'? We installed a patch recently, but even so, why would the query work in one spot and not another?
Anyone have any ideas on what I can do?
    Pat Murray

    Hi,
Please give me the query and the error the error you are getting.
    Thanks,
    Sharmila

  • SQL query works for Access but not mySQL

  • Variable hierarchy display not changed (BEx analyzer)

    Hi
We have a BEx query, in which a drilldown characteristic is displayed as an hierarchy
    Hierarchy display is active
    Selected hierarchy:
    Name - constant
    Version - customer exit variable
Customer exit calculates version from manual input variable.
We need to view the report in BEx Analyzer.
When the query is opened, we select manual input variables and the hierarcy's version is set correctly.
The issue is that when we change manual input variables at runtime, the data is refreshed,
but hierarchy display is not changed. The selected hierarchy's version remains unchanged.
In order to change hierarchy display, we need to open characteristic properties and change the selected hierarchy manually
or we need to reopen the query and provide another manual input variables.
Our system version is 7.01 patch level 9
Is there any way to fix this problem
    Or some workaroud?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Michael, thank you for reply.
But I don't see how these notes may help me with my problem.
    1753959 - I don't get a short dump
1745472, 1751321 - system displays all queried nodes, the problem is that if I input another variable, hierarchy version variable is calculated via user-exit properly (I see it in ABAP debugger), but displayed hierarchy has version, which was set when I opened query initially.
1717433 - nodes are returned with non-empty result. I can see that data is refreshed, hierarchy version is requested correctly, but is displayed incorrectly. We can see, for example, new hierarchy leaves, but in "n/a" node.
I tried to run the same report on system with version 7.01, patch level 12 and get the same behaviour.
My problem is similar to that described in notes 993151, 957219, but our system patch level is already higher.
