Query for Primary Users

I want to utilize the web application catalog to distribute an application to users before making it mandatory later on this year.  We have a mix of desktops/laptops and Citrix.  I want to make it available to only users who have a primary device
assigned (there is no affinity settings for Citrix devices) to reduce the possibility of someone attempting to install while in a Citrix session.
Also, if a user isn't an administrator on a Citrix server but attempts to install via the catalog, does it install as that user, or as the SCCM service running as local system?
So far I haven't been able to figure out how to design the query.

If you setup your deployment of an Application correctly this becomes a non-issue. Why? Because you setup your deployment type for each environment for an Application. On a PC with the user Primary user, they get the MSI install of the application. On a
PC which is not their primary PC they get a App-v or Citrix version of the app. On Citrix they get Citrix app version (or app-v) of the application. etc.
Yes it is a bit of work to setup but once it is the User get the use the app no matter where they are, that is the coolness of applications in CM12.

Honestly that's entirely too much work to get where we need to be.  I'm just going to black hole the URL for the application catalog from Citrix and then it won't be a concern.  At that point I can just deploy to all users and if they're in Citrix
they will be unable to access the catalog.  If they're on a laptop/desktop they can install from the catalog.
It's definitely something I'll look into though for future ereference.

  • How to use the same POWL query for multiple users

    Hello,
    I have defined a POWL query which executes properly. But if I map the same POWL query to 2 portal users and the 2 portal users try to access the same page simultaneously then it gives an error message to one of the users that
    "Query 'ABC' is already open in another session."
    where 'ABC' is the query name.
    Can you please tell me how to use the same POWL query for multiple users ?
    A fast reply would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Batch processing usually involves using actions you have recorded.  In Action you can insert Path that can be used during processing documents.  Path have some size so you may want to only process document that have the same size.  Look in the Actions Palette fly-out menu for insert path.  It inserts|records the current document work path into the action being worked on and when the action is played it inserts the path into the document as the current work path..

  • How to Enable the LOV to query for partial user entries in af:query in an ADF search form

    Hi guys,
    I have faced one issue in creating a search form in ADF, in that I have used af:query and table region. and I have attached an lov vo to the base vo for the list of values and given UI hint as Input values with List of values. Now the issue is that I have given auto submit property as true so when I give some value suppose "Jan-14" and tab out it gives me all the correct results. but if I give like "Jan%" and then tab out then it does not give me any value. Could you kindly help me with some solution. I am using Jdev 11.1.1.6.0.
    Thanks,
    Tanmoy

    To enable the LOV to query for partial user entries, we can trap the 'LaunchPopupListener' event and add custom code there. Within the af:query component, just wondering how can we set property the 'LaunchPopupListener' for the search criteria ?

  • Query listing primary user and the primary device

    Is there a query to list the primary device and the primary user associated with that device. Coming from a LANDesk environment I was able to create reports and queries that would list this information pretty easily. I can't seem to link the two in
    SCCM for reporting. Thanks

    That's a SQL query that should be executed in SQL management studio. It can also be used to create a SRS report.

    Any hints, what it the query itself? And how it should be imported, that it will be created in SRS? Is there any instructions for this? Thanks.

  • Lock record on query for single user

    Is there any way to use the on-lock trigger to lock a particular record as it is simply queried, instead of after a change has been made to it. For instance, if user A is viewing a queried record, and user b attempts to query the same record, then we would display a message to user b stating that the record is unavailable, or simply just skip it. I know that if a field in the current record is altered, forms recognizes the status of the record as 'CHANGED' and will then by default proceed to lock the record until a commit or rollback is issued. However, this is not what we are looking for. I have read a little about this, and I have seen an example through a datablock based upon a stored procedure, a ref cursor select for update statement. (NOTE: we are not basing our datablock on a stored procedure though)
    We have two scenarios that require this type of locking capability. The first simply queries one distinct record, and the second queries a distinct result of records.
    A select for update statement would suffice for the first scenario, i.e. if another user tries to query the same record, their query is denied; however, for the second scenario when two users perform the same query, user a is viewing record #1, and user b's program sees that record #1 is 'locked' and thus proceeds to the next record in the result .
    Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

    You don't need to override on-lock you can just call the LOCK_RECORD built-in in POST-QUERY or whatever.

  • Create POWL query for specific user (not self)

    Hello All,
    was wondering if anyone had an idea on how to create a POWL query for a specific user. Even the low level method in class CL_POWL_QUERY_ACCESSOR seem to assume that you either are creating an administrator query for any/everyone or just for yourself.
    One option is to create multiple queries (for each selection criteria that I want) and assign these directly to user (rather than the role) in the config - but that's config that I'd need to transport up - for what is essentially user level personalisation.
    My strong favourite at the moment is to throw a breakpoint in CL_POWL_QUERY_ACCESSOR and manually change the user name as I save new queries in directly in production - but that's not exactly the cleanest solution.
    Surely someone has had a need to actually create queries for users, not just delete them as per program POWL_D01?
    Many thanks for any hints and tips
    Cheers,
    Chris

    Well - I should point out that you don't have to transport those user assignment of queries - tables are production maintainable. However, you do have to transport up the query itself - so not ideal.
    Oh well - don't think this one has an answer => closing it to open another question.
    Cheers,
    Chris

  • KM Search: How can I define a query for the user who currently logged on?

    Hello,
    I want to use the KM Search iView to display all documents from the currently logged on user in a certain sort order. The result should be some kind of report for the user...
    In the search option I can define a default sort order. And I can also define it for a special user with cm_modifiedby(value=username)
    But how can I define the predefined property value generically for the current user?
    I tried to insert following values in the parameter Predefined Properties of the search option:
    Predefined Properties (csv): cm_modifiedby(value=<user.id>)
    Predefined Properties (csv): cm_modifiedby(value=%user.id%) -> like in the predefined properties
    Predefined Properties (csv): cm_modifiedby(value=$sap_user) -> like in the xml forms builder
    But non of these 3 parameters worked. Has anybody an idea what the right variable is?
    Thanks a lot.
    Best regards
    Nicole

    Hi Nicole,
    1. First of all you need to use "<User.UserID>" to get the currently logged on user.
    2. You need to create an AppIntegrator iView (so based on com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.Generic) in order to be able to use this dynamical parameter. The parameter "URL template" should look like:
    <Request.Protocol>://<Request.Server>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.basicsearch?layoutSetMode=exclusive&ResourceListType=com.sapportals.wcm.SearchResultList&SearchType=quick&rndLayoutSet=SearchResultLayoutSet&SearchCompsName=UISearchComponents&QueryString=*&SelectedCustomProps=cm_modifiedby(value=<User.UserID>)

  • LDAP Query for particular user account in local Administrators group on All Enabled Computer Accounts

    Need to query on all enabled computer accounts that have a particular user account present in the local Administrators group.
    Ldap query is best, because not all our machines have SCCM client
    Thanks for any help you can provide. Lisa

    Ya, I have 41800+ computer accounts in my directory. I think that option is not feasible :) Thanks for your reply.
    I can use SCCM to do this too, but only for those that the client is running on and which are online. Thanks again.
    Hope is not all lost; a scripting solution is still possible.  The difference is instead of running a central script to pull info from all computers, you let the computers report back to you with the info.
    If I were you, I'd do the following:
    1) Create a file share and adjust the permissions so that "Domain Computers" have "Modify" Permissions.
    2) Create a script similar to the 2nd link I posted above, with a bit of adjustment:  at the end of the script, write the information to the file share created in (1), and name the file
    ComputerName.txt
    3) Use Group Policy Preference Scheduled Task to deploy the script, and make sure it only runs once.
    4) Happily wait for the results to come back :)
    The main benefit of this approach is you're not restricted by the computer connectivity at the moment you run the script.  This is especially true if you have many mobile computers in your environment.  Just wait for a reasonable time (they all need
    to come back to the mother ship once a while don't they?) and the results will show up in the file share you created.
    Cheers.

  • How to create a role which contains few query for the user

    Hi,
    I need a create a role in the security which should contain few custom BI queries and then assign the users to the role.
    Even I have to assign the vendor to their unique vendor number in the security perespective for the created BI Reports.

  • Query for remote users

    Im doing an audit and one part they want to know a list of users who are granted remote access? Is there in Query in AD that I can run if so let me know asap.
    thanks,

    You need to get the members of Remote Desktop Users local group. You can use
    net localgroup command to display members of a local group: https://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/windows_security_group_membership.mspx?mfr=true
    You can use psexec to execute this command on multiple systems.
    Please note that, if you are using Restricted Groups GPO to control the members of
    Remote Desktop Users local group then you can simply check the GPO configuration to get the list of the users having RDP access.

  • Report - Primary User is name not shown

    Hey there,
    I've got a problem with the reporting Server functions.
    When creating a report containing "Primary User Name (Calculated)" there is no data shown within this column. If I add "Is Primary User Calculated?" I get "YES" for every Device name that has its Primary user detemined already - but the rows for "Primary User Name (Calculated)" stay empty.
    The Information from "Is Primary User Calculated?" seem to be right, when checking Devices/Workstations/... within ZCM, and the Primary User Names are shown there.
    Does anyone encounter this problem before and/or got a solution?
    regards,
    alex

  • Query for users without a primary device assigned (through automatic affinity or manually assigned)

    I'm looking for either a way to query or a view of a collection that will show me a list of users who do not have a primary device affinity established.  Vise versa might work as well- query for devices that don't have primary users assigned.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you,
    DLovitt

    Using SCCM's PowerShell cmdlets, you can run something like this:
    $Devices = Get-CMDevice
    $FinalOutput = @()
    $Devices | % {
    $OutputObject = New-Object PSObject -Property @{
    Device = $_.Name
    LastUser = $_.UserName
    LastClientCheckTime = $_.LastClientCheckTime
    PrimaryUser = (Get-CMUserDeviceAffinity -DeviceName $_.Name).UniqueUserName
    $FinalOutput += $OutputObject
    $FinalOutput | export-csv $env:USERPROFILE\Desktop\ConfigMgrAffinityReport.csv -NoTypeInformation
    #End
    Which creates an output like the below.
    Once you have these items joined, its easy to filter out those without a Primary User.
    e.g.
    $FinalOutput | ? {$_.PrimaryUser -ne $null}
