Query Logic for Collections
Is it possible to create a collection query that will filter on the active directory computer description? We use a 3 letter code in the computer descript of each AD computer object and I need to create a query based on a particular 3-letter code.
Now I can do this with PowerShell and then manually enter it into a Static collection but I wanted a dynamic query.
mqh7
I added the following under AD system discovery. adminDescription, adminDisplayName, givenName. Those are the only ones that seemed to make sense. I already had displayName.
I forced it to sync. I start up SQL and under sms_r_system I don't see the new fields I added. What do I add and once added where do I see them in SQL?

FI-SD data-BEx Query Logic for Amount received for the Lasts F.Year Sales
Hi Friends,
Need your assistance in designing one BEx Query,
We have Two cubes...one is sales ZSALES01 and Account Receivables ZFIAR01. On top of these cubes e built Multiprovider.
In the sales cube (ZSALES01)., we have calender day, Financial year , Fiscal period characteristics as time characteristics and Net Values as key figures. And Same way in the Account recievable cube (ZFIAR01) we have calender day( Which is mapped with Posting date), Financial year , Fiscal period characteristics as time characteristics and Credit/Debit amount as key figure.
My requiremnt is that i have to show in BEx with below scenarios.......
1.Amount received for the sales occured till Last Financial year
2. Amount Received for the sales occured in this current financial year
We have two show these values for company code wise , we have company code in both cubes nad we have financial year...and some other common fields there in both cubes.
Can you please guide me how to design the same in BE query.
Thanks & Regards,
Anandare you saying that in your query you need to have 4 columns;
- Sales Last Year
- Sales Current Year
- AR for Sales (LY+CY)
- AR for Sales Current Year
If yes, getting Sales Information is easy. You need to use customer exit variable to get the current year (calendar or fiscal)
- for Sales Last Year, use customer exit variable for current year with a offset of -1
- for Saels Current Year, use customer exit variable for current year
For AR columns, as I said in my earlier post - use a lookup while loading data in AR cube. Use the Sales Doc Number and get the year information (calendar, financial or fiscal - whatever you want to use depending on your requirement) from Sales flow. This way you can tell if a particular FI doucment is for this year's sales or last year's sales.
Now, you can use another customer exit variable for AR column depending on the "Sales Year" infoboject. Customer exit variable shold be populated with the current Sales Year.
- for AR for Sales CY, use this customer exit variable
- for AR for Sales LY, use this customer exit variable with offset of -1
- AR for Saels (LY+CY), add both the columns above
Another way of achieving AR for Sales (LY+CY) is to restrict the RKF or value range using customer exit variable for Sales year with BETWEEN operator (From var1 to (var1-1)).
You can also use the option of replacment path variable as Durgesh mentioned. but in that case you will have to create two addition queries based on sales data which will return:
- sales documents for last year
- sales documents for current year
then you need to create two replacement path variables for AR columns which will get values from these two queries.
I hope it helps.

Querying SCCM for Collection rules by Powershell
I am trying to get a list of collections rules applied to a particular collection, in sccm. I have psbase property of a collectionrules which contains the names of the collectionrules. How do I access those collections, using powershell?
A collection can have multiple query-based membership rules. Each of those rules can have multiple queries. CSVs are 2 dimensional, and don't support this type of nesting. You could simply take the first query from the first rule, but depending
on how the collections are defined, there could be missing information.
XML on the other hand, can support this type of nesting.
I haven't tested this (use at your own risk), but this could be the general idea, if you wanted to move queries from one system to another, or simply back them up.
#Backup Collection Data from source computer
Get-CMDeviceCollection | Export-Clixml 'c:\OldComputer\AllCollections.xml'
#Restore to target computer (This sets the limiting collection to "All Systems" and also assumes there is only one membership rule)
$allCollections = Import-Clixml 'c:\NewComputer\AllCollections.xml'
$allCollections | ? {$_.isbuiltin -eq $false} | % {
New-CMDeviceCollection -LimitingCollectionId SMS00001 -Name $_.Name
Add-CMDeviceCollectionQueryMembershipRule -CollectionName $_.Name -RuleName $_.CollectionRules.RuleName -QueryExpression $_.CollectionRules.QueryExpression

User Logic for Conversion Type Instead of Hard coding in query.
Hello , Good response from SDN but thats all standard which I know. Please help me to resolve the problem as stated below. SDN friends are always best help.
Requirement: User will select the Target Currency; Will select the Exchange Rate like Monthly Avg 002M. Now there has to be a variable in Conversion which tells the logic to pick Conversion Type ZVHGR if Exchange Rate = 002M, but if Exchange Rate = 001, then Conversion Type ZVHMR.
<u><b>
Approach to solve abo</b></u>ve
1. I have created a Currency Translation Type " FiscperConversion" "ZVHGR" now this has Exchange Rate Type from Variable "ZVARN" (Which is a variable single value manual input on 0RTYPE Infoobject for exchange rate.)
2. Now Currency Tab: Target Currency is selected from Variable placed in the Report. ZRPVAR.
3. Now the Variable Time Reference is used. Standard Infoobject 0FISCPER
which is beginning of period.
Now all the above is done. Let go to the query and For Value of kEYFIGURE "Audit Balance" in Conversion Tab Conversion Type is specified is "FiscperConversion" ZVHGR"same as above and thats it. But the problem is here user want a variable that user can select the Conversion Type Instead of Hard coding.
<b>Please suggest how to create this variable for Conversion Type and specify in query designer since In Conversion Tab this is not allowed to have variable.</b>
Please help me very soon
Thanks
Soniya Kapoor
nullHello soniya
CTK ( currency translation key) includes
1. Exchange rate type - variable
2. Time base - Variable
3. Source abd TGT currency - variable
if all the things are given in variable why and what extra you need by selecting currency translation key from user input. I think you should ask business user again abt their requirement.
I can think of inputing CTK if say you have choosen time base as static ( Fix value)...say in one key u r using fiscal period as base and in other u r using calday as base...
Thanks

Query for collection "Quick Fix Engineering"
Hi!
I try to create query for collection,to find all workstation with install specific KB, from "Quick Fix Engineering".
Added by this sample:
http://myitforum.com/myitforumwp/2011/10/04/non-security-hotfix-detection-for-windows-7-2008/
Maybe you can help? Can not find an example :(
cenubitThat's made a lot simpler in ConfigMgr 2012, as it can now simply be selected as an extra class in the
Hardware Inventory of your client settings.
Simply go in to your client settings, go to Hardware Inventory
and click Set Classes. Here you can select the Quick Fix Engineering class to be part of your inventory.
After an inventory you will be able to create your collection. Do keep in mind that this will also capture a lot of information that you will probably never use.

Add field in a query (logical data base)
Hi,
I want to add a field in a query .
The data source of its infoset is logical database .
When i tried to drag and drop the field, the alv grid turned to alv list.
Can you help me.
thanks,
Meriem.Hi Merim,
As KAMESH mention,
you can add additional fields in your infoset and put the logic for that field in your infoset program and assign the same field in your existing group within infoset.
once you assign the infoset and generate the infoset then your field will be reflected in sap Query .
you can add additional field in your output.

Assistance in writing Query / Query Logic.
I have a peculiar requirement to fetch data.
Table Structure ( Sample ... although real table has more fields)
Order ( orderid varchar2(30), custid varchar2(30), status varchar2(1), createdon datetime )
Sample Data:
OrderID CustID AccID Status createdon
123 111 Y 20-Jan-2012 01:29:22
124 111 100 Y 22-Jan-2012 01:23:02
125 111 100 N 23-Jan-2012 02:34:24
126 111 100 N 28-Jan-2012 04:23:22
127 111 100 N 29-Jan-2012 07:32:26
123Cancel 111 100 N 31-Jan-2012 03:27:29
I want to write 2 Queries.
a. input is OrderId, Need to find out how many order's present with status = 'N' after that orderid provided.
b. input is OrderId, Need to find out what is the previous order with status = 'Y'
Note: There can be 100's of orders and Status would be Y on first come first serve basis... if one does not have status = 'Y' ie it is 'N' the following order's will never turn to final status = 'Y'.
There are millions of records in the table.
Your help for writing this query / logic would be highly appreciated. Am intending to do thru single query.
Best Regards
MH Doshiselect count(*) from order

Creating a query in a collection - SCCM 2012
Hi Everyone,
I've got a weird issue and was hoping you techies could shed a light.
I'm trying to create a script that makes a query into a collection with input from a CSV file. (this is a part of a bigger script, but this is what I'm having trouble with at the moment).
#Import CSV
$source = Import-Csv -Path C:\temp\source.csv -Delimiter ","
foreach ($row in $source) {
#Variables
$ApplicationName = $row.ApplicationName
$Customer = $row.Customer
$ApplicationDL = $row.ApplicationDL
$QueryPath = "$Customer\$ApplicationDL"
$ApplicationDescription = $row.ApplicationDescription
#Creates a Query Rule in the Collection
Add-CMDeviceCollectionQueryMembershipRule -CollectionName $ApplicationName -QueryExpression "select * from SMS_R_System where SMS_R_System.SystemGroupName = '$QueryPath'" -RuleName $ApplicationName
This is a multi-tenant environment so each customer has their own child domain. For example lets say that my root domain is contoso.com and my childdomain is test (and thus test.contoso.com).
That is why I've created $QueryPath, which results in: test\groupname (The same as when I do it manually)
However the problem is when I execute this script it simply does not create the query.
I don't get an error or what so ever.
When I change $QueryPath to $ApplicationDL (resulting in just 'groupname' without the domain prefix) it actually does create the query but at that point it is not functional because it needs the domain prefix of the child-domain.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance :)Sorry - chnage this line:
$QueryPath='{}\{}'
-f $row.Customer,$row.ApplicationDL
To this:
$QueryPath='{0}\{1}'
-f $row.Customer,$row.ApplicationDL

ABAP - Logic for finding out the active employee
Hi,
I am trying to write the program where i need to set the flag "YES" to active employee for the particular time period for the particular position.
For example:
Row Employee DateTo DateFrom Position FLAG
1 1 1.1.2009 31.1.2009 10 YES
2 1 1.2.2009 1.3.2009 10 NO
3 1 2.3.2009 31.3.2009 10 YES
4 1 1.4.2009 31.12.2009 11 YES
5 2 1.1.2009 31.1.2009 12 YES
6 2 1.2.2009 1.3.2009 10 YES
7 2 2.3.2009 31.12.2009 13 YES
Employee 2 gets assigned as of 1.2.2009 to the same position 10 on which employee 1 is already assigned. Therefore, as of 1.2.2009 emplyoee 1 is not anymore the primary employee of position 10. As employee 2 is leaving the position as of 2.3.09 employee 1 gets again primary employee of that position as of 2.3.2009.
Can any1 suggest me the logic for this?
Regards,
Rashmi
Edited by: Rashmi G P on Jul 13, 2009 9:13 AMHi,
I already have a customised table where i am trying to set the flag.
My logic is something like this:
Declarations:
DATA: pos_flag TYPE char5.
select-OPTIONS : pos for /bic/qzemployee-/bic/zhrpostn.
SELECT zemployee datefrom dateto pos_flag FROM zemployee INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE
it_QZEMPLOYEE where /bic/zhrpostn in pos.
*Sort it_zhrpostn by postion and datefrom
SORT it_QZEMPLOYEE BY /bic/zhrpostn datefrom.
*Looping it_zhrpostn.
LOOP AT it_QZEMPLOYEE.
MOVE-CORRESPONDING : it_QZEMPLOYEE TO it_qzemployee_temp.
*Appending it_zhrpostn_temp to collect each postion
APPEND it_qzemployee_temp.
*At end of position
AT END OF pos_flag.
*Looping it_zhrpostn_temp table
SORT it_qzemployee_temp BY datefrom DESCENDING.
pos_flag = 'YES'.
LOOP AT it_qzemployee_temp into wa_qzemployees.
IF pos_flag = 'YES' OR wa_qzemployees-/bic/zhrpostn EQ '00000000' OR wa_qzemployees-/bic/zhrpostn EQ '99999999'.
set the flag to yes
write: pos_flag.
INSERT into /BIC/AZPA_DS0600 VALUES wa_final.
pos_flag = 'NO'.
ELSE.
set the flag to NO
write: pos_flag.
ENDIF.
endloop.
refresh: it_qzemployee_temp.
ENDAT.
endloop.
But here the problem is the it is taking the most recent datefrom and setting the flag as yes. How to check whether someother employee is active in the given time period and set the flag as YES? Only 1 employee can be active in the date period given.

Hi XI Gurus,
I hav to create a UDF.This is an IDOC - XI - FILE seerio. In this senerio is I have an IDOc whose 7th segment contains a field. This field can store values in between 0 - 9. On the other hand I have a file structure in my left hand side from Messge mapping prespective , which contains 9 similar sized fields.
Now the logic is if the field in the segment of the idoc has value say '3', then the file structure in the left hand side would have 3 in the field no 3 and all other fields 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 would be zero.
Can u guys suggest some logic for this???
Thanks in advance !
Poits would be rewarded.
ArnabHi Mohd,
Select the Queue option for getting individual nodes
public void test(String[] a,ResultList result,Container container){
if (a<i> == 7) { //This is for selecting the node
for(i=0;i<10;i++){ //This is for collecting the correct value
ifIi==3){
write what ever u have to done
else{
write the exceptional condition
Dont to Reward points if this helps
