Query on Contact's api

Hi everyone,
We're currently using 11.5.10.2 / 10.1.0.4 db
Is there an api to update the contact's basic information (like last_name, first_name, date_of_birth)?
Is it the HR_PERSON_API.update_person ?
I used the HR_CONTACT_REL_API.create_contact in creating the contact's basic information but can't find any procedure inside the HR_CONTACT_REL_API package that updates the contacts' last_name, first_name, date_of_birth, etc.
Any help is highly appreciated.
Thank you,
Elmer

  • Querying for contacts via webservices

    When we query for contact records via webservices , it only checks those contacts created by the webservices and not by any other users.A user id has been created for the same as 'Web Interface', though when we login to the instance through this user id we are able to view all the records created by other users also.
    Kindly help us with the issue
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    Are you in R16 and using 2.0 WS APIs? If so please check what you are setting for the parameter "ViewMode". This may affect the data visibility. For more info, check the WS reference guide page 282. Hope it helps

  • How do I read & update email group subscription status for a specific contact via api?

    Looking at Eloqua's api documentation, I can find out how to update contacts, and even the global subscription flag, however we want to build a page on our custom website whcih allows users to opt in and out of specific email groups (as can be done manually from the contact page / preferences tab)
    I cant find the appropriate api documentation for this - I found a page for contacts:
    REST API - Contact Fields
    and a page for email group:
    REST API - Email Groups
    any idea how can I find and udpate the object linking the two ?!?

    Via REST API, the bare bones call is:
    PUT /API/REST/2.0/data/contact/{contactid}/email/group/{groupid}/subscription
      "type": "ContactEmailSubscription",
      "contactId": "3174",
      "emailGroup": {
      "type": "EmailGroup",
      "id": "15",
      "depth": "minimal",
      "name": "Test Email Group"
      "isSubscribed": "false"
    Where isSubscribed can be toggled to true. This is the same call made by the UI when you open the contact record, move to the preferences tab and right click to subscribe or unsubscribe on an email group:
    The list of email groups and their ids can be obtained via GET /assets/email/groups. I recommend adding ?depth=minimal to avoid retrieving unnecessary configuration information.

  • Query AD Contacts

    I know how to query AD users, but is there a way to query AD
    Contacts? I changed the objectClass=contacts, and tried querying by
    sn, but nothing happens. I do not get any errors, but I also do not
    get any returns from the query, it find zero records. Any clues on
    querying Contacts?

    It should be "objectClass=contact" not "contacts".

    Hi
    We are in 11.5.10.2 and I already checked notes which you sent before and setups are fine as the relationship type' Ship to' having 'contacts' enabled in the setup.
    I am also seeing a differernt issue as once I update existing item instnace with the status 'Return for Credit' through API, system is not allowing me to update the extended attributes through front end application manually and I am seeing a note at the end of the screen as 'Note: This item instance cannot be updated. ' and this is only happening when I update the item instance status to 'Returned for Credit' not when I create new item instances with status as 'Created'. Is this intended functionality to restrict update on extended attributes if I change the status of item instnace to 'Return for Credit' ?
    Thanks

  • How to create a new User / Contact using APIs

    I am not able to figure out how to create a new User / Contact in WLPS using APIs
    . Is there a factory class ?
    Thanks,

    Hi Bala,
    Try using these function modules
    SUSR_BAPI_USER_CREATE
    BAPI_USER_CREATE
    BAPI_USER_CREATE1
    BAPI_USER_INTERNET_CREATE ( This internally calls BAPI_USER_CREATE1)
    Please read the FM documentation for more information.

  • Creating an opportunity linked to a contact via API

    Hi,
    We are trying to create opportunity records against a contact but don't understand how to link the 2 objects via API as my development team can't find a direct link when looking in the WSDL.
    I can see in the UI that the primary contact can be stored against the object, would just like to know how to do this via API.
    Thanks for your help in advance.
    Leslie

    Hello Leslie,
    There are a number of ways to accomplish this. As you mentioned in your post there are often Id fields exposed on a parent object that allow one to associate to a record of a different type, in this case you can send a request for the parent object, in this case Contact and specify the ID of an existing Opportunity record.
    You can also use the child object structure to create an association. For example, if you are entering a new Contact and a new Opportunity you can use the <ListOfOpportunity> within a Contact Insert request to also insert a new Opportunity. I have attached a sample SOAP request below.
    I would recommend your team review the WS User Guide as well as the sample code provided at samplecode.oracle.com for further details. Please see the announcements at the top of the forum for additional links.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Sean

  • Query/Read Interface for API

    Is there a query/read interface from the HRMS API's or from the TCA API's?
    We are using customers online to maintain data , but I want to have a custom application to view the data.
    Obvious choice would be through the TCA API's but I cannot find any Query/Read Interfaces there.
    Oracle's Docs seem to say it's possible so could somebody point me in the right direction please
    cheers
    Dominic

    Anyone have any idea of it ?

  • Contact Information API

    I want to insert new contact(relation) information of employees in bulk quantity which API I can use for this purpose I am trying to use the following API HR_CONTACT_REL_API.CREATE_CONTACT.

    Yes, that's the one. If you don't specify a contact person_id, it will create the contact person for you then the relationship between that and the employee.

  • Query about XAResource.end() API in JMS context

    Hi All,
    I have a small query regarding the behavior of an XAResource supplied by a JMS server.
    Suppose I start a transaction using XaResource.start() method and I create a publisher and registered durable subscriber on the XASession that supplied the above mentioned XAResource. After that I send some messages and receive some messages from a Topic that already had some messages for the concerned Subscriber.
    Now I end this transaction by calling XaResource.end() with the flag TMSUSPEND.
    My question is that can the Publisher and Subscriber objects created between the start() and end() methods of the XAResource object be used now after the transaction has been suspended.
    Also now if I resume this transaction can I use these publisher and subscriber objects again without re-creating them.
    It would be great if some of the bright people on this forum can share some info on this.
    cheers
    Adolf

    Now I end this transaction by calling XaResource.end()
    with the flag TMSUSPEND.
    My question is that can the Publisher and Subscriber
    objects created between the start() and end() methods
    of the XAResource object be used now after the
    transaction has been suspended.This is dependend on the JMS implementation. If it falls back into a local transaction context after suspending the current XA tx, then yes, otherwise no.
    Also now if I resume this transaction can I use these
    publisher and subscriber objects again without
    re-creating them.IMO, yes.
    However, chapter 8 of the JMS spec (XA/ASF) is intended to use within a J2EE environment. Thus, most of the behavior of JMS XA/ASF is specified in the EJB spec, not in the JMS spec. If you consult both, you'll get the whole picture. Whether JMS XA/ASF works with a specific app server is dependent on the app server's implementation of this part. For example, some use ASF (connection consumers) with callbacks for message/tx association (like the J2EE ref impl), some use ASF without callbacks (like JBoss, WebSphere) so there has to be an automatic association with XAResource.start. Some don't use ASF at all but a message consumer (like WLS). And so on. JCA 1.5 with JMS pluggability uses callbacks.
    It's very tricky and time consuming to integrate a JMS server XA/ASF wise into an app server. Every app server is different. Sometimes you'll have to implement proprietary interfaces to plug into it.
    We have done that. How it works is here:

  • Object, Query and Java Persistence API

    Hello Java Programmers.
    Question to Object handling with Query results and evaluation.
    Example:
    one table with 3 Columns
    Tablename = ISO6933
    Column 1 = UID
    Column 2 = language name
    Column 3 = language long name
    data in database:
    C1 = 1
    C2 = "ger"
    C3 = "german"
    read the data from database with EntityManagerFactory and EntityManager
    Query query = em.createNativeQuery("SELECT * FROM ISO6933");Final to - Query (Persistence) to Choice (AWT)
    Search short code for example!
    query.setFirstResult(0); // first element -> possible?
    java.util.List queryList = query.getResultList();
    // warnings -> List is a raw type. References to generic type List<E> should be parameterized
    java.awt.List list = new List();
    list.add(queryList.toString()); // for one element in the result, for more elements for/next loop
    // = [1,ger,german]I do not want to use
    - StringTokenizer
    - String.split
    (Cast from java.util.List to java.awt.List = Type mismatch: cannot convert from List to List)
    for one elements from [1,ger,german]
    final to
    1
    ger
    german
    in the AWT List()

    no answer? = is an answer !
    the normal solution would be for example.
         Query query = em.createNativeQuery("SELECT * FROM ISO693_3"); // create query
              query.setFirstResult(0); // first element
              Object[] objectList = query.getResultList().toArray();
              // objectList[X] = UID,LANGUAGE_ID,LANGUAGE_NAME
              int intLength = objectList.length; // Length
              StringTokenizer token; // parser
              String string = new String(); // temp
              for (int i1=0;i1<intLength;i1++)
                   string = objectList[i1].toString();
                   string = string.substring(1, string.length()-1);
                   token = new StringTokenizer(string, ",");
                   while (token.hasMoreElements())
                        list.add(token.nextToken().trim()); // the next element and clean string
              }I look for however a better solution!
    Best greetings

  • Use REST API to query contacts with a field updated since certain time?

    Hello,
    Using the REST API and trying to figure out how I can query for contacts that have had a field updated since a specified time. I've tried using the "lastUpdatedAt" arg, but to me it seems like I'm getting back contacts that maybe haven't had any data change, but were probably sent an email or something of that sort (so the updated at value was changed)
    Is there a way to query for contacts that have had fields change (Like subscriptions, address, title, etc) but exclude those contacts that only have their updated values changes because they were sent an email?
    Thanks!

    Hi Chris,
    lastUpdatedAt or "Date Modified" fields don't change when the contact is sent an email, but rather, when ANY field is modified on the contact record. You can certainly query for and export contacts that had their data touched in some way since a specified time, but it won't be on a per-field basis. There is effectively no field level change history or tracking. You can work around this with extra logic. First, you can get a snapshot of what the values were in the specific fields you want to track across your entire database.
    The next time you run an export using Date Modified, it will contain more records than you might care about, but you can filter offline for the ones you do care about by comparing their before and after values for the specific 'tracked' fields.

  • Query and sort content from two lists using search API

    Hi,
    I have a custom web part which I would like to query two different lists and sort the results by Created Date. One is a list of news articles and the other contains blogs. So basically the result set will be an intermix of news and blog items sorted by date.
    I would also like to do this by query through the search API. Does anybody have any sample code to do this?
    thanks,
    Sherazad.
    Sherazad

    Hi Sherazad:
    To use the JOIN operator in CAML, your lists must have a
    defined relation(Lookup column). You can refer to sample code that I list as follow.
    Create your query from one of your lists.
    SPList Projects= SPContext.Current.Site.RootWeb.Lists["Projects"];
    SPQuery query = new SPQuery();
    To do the join, setquery.Joins
     <Join Type="INNER" ListAlias="Contacts">
        <Eq>
            <FieldRef Name="ProjectManager" RefType="ID" /> ///
    ProjectManager is a Lookup Column.
            <FieldRef List="Contacts" Name="ID" />
        </Eq>
     </Join>
    And query.ProjectedFields (To tell SharePoint how to project the lookup columns into the result)
    <Field Name="Project Name" Type="Lookup" List="Projects" ShowField="Title">
    /// My Project Name is a Display Name in Memory so you can give a name by yourself But ShowField must be Internal Name of the Column(Project Name)
    You can add a lot of columns that you want to display.
    Everything comes from memory.
    To choose the fields to display set query.ViewFields
    <FieldRef Name="Your Internal Name of Column Or
    ProjectedFields - Field Name">
    <FieldRef Name="Your Internal Name of Column Or
    ProjectedFields - Field Name">
    <FieldRef Name="Your Internal Name of Column Or
    ProjectedFields - Field Name">
    Then
    SPListItemCollection result = ListA.GetItems(query);
