Query selection problem

Hi gurus,
In my query, in selection screen, i am giving the material, plant and reporting date.
now i want to caliculate the reseravations quantity from the reporting date to 16 weeks future.
for example,
selectin screen:  material - 1199140, plant - 1800  and reporting data - 11/26/2007
the data available in my cube is
material    plant     reporting date    quantity
1199140   1800     11/03/2007         100
1199140   1800     11/16/2007         108
1199140   1800     01/01/2008         5600
1199140   1800     02/21/2008         450
1199140   1800     04/10/20008       7852
my issue is when i execute a query with this selection conditions.
i am getting the 'no data available' because the selection conditions not satisfing.
i can't give the date intervals.  based on the given date the query should execute 16 weeks future data.
Can any one help me.
Thanks in advance.

Hi sam,
thanks for reply.
here my problem with date selection in the query execution.
i have created the restricted key figure with the same procedure.
my peoblem is, the selection conditons which i am giving for reporting date, there is no recods in my cube.
in the query execution, i can give single value date only. based on this date i want to calculate the quantity even though the date is not available in the cube.
thanks

    hey guys,
    i've used a select query to get details from KNA1, KNVV, ADRC, KNVP, pa0002. tables by joining. but i'm getting only about 170 records. there are more than 3000 records in the database. for each tables. here is my select query
    SELECT KNA1KUNNR KNA1NAME1 KNA1NAME2 ADRCSTR_SUPPL1 ADRCSTR_SUPPL2 ADRCSTR_SUPPL3 ADRCCITY1 KNVVVWERK KNVPPERNR PA0002VORNA PA0002NACHN KNVVVKBUR KNVVKDGRP KNA1STCD1 KNA1~STCEG

    can anyone tell me the problem in the above query.
    thanks.

    Hi
    you are using tables KNA1, KNVV, ADRC, KNVP, pa0002.
    Create internal table for each table mentioned above with all the primary keys and find the links between them
    then select data in one table and select data from another table into your internal table for all the entries exists in firs internal table.
    go for below links.

    Just paste the below code and check either getting value or not
    DATA wa_country TYPE adrc.
    PARAMETERS: p_city TYPE adrc-city1 DEFAULT 'Dubai',
                p_countr TYPE adrc-country DEFAULT 'AE'.
    SELECT SINGLE * FROM adrc INTO wa_country WHERE country = p_countr

    the value '70302/20307' is not an whole number so converting it to an int is not possible.
    You should check your data for this value an change your query or data.

  • Query performance problem

    I am having performance problems executing a query.
    System:
    Windows 2003 EE
    Oracle 9i version 9.2.0.6
    DETAIL table with 120Million rows partitioned in 19 partitions by SD_DATEKEY field
    We are trying to retrieve the info from an account (SD_KEY) ordered by date (SD_DATEKEY). This account has about 7000 rows and it takes about 1 minute to return the first 100 rows ordered by SD_DATEKEY. This time should be around 5 seconds to be acceptable.
    There is a partitioned index by SD_KEY and SD_DATEKEY.
    This is the query:
    SELECT * FROM DETAIL WHERE SD_KEY = 'xxxxxxxx' AND ROWNUM < 101 ORDER BY SD_DATEKEY
    The problem is that all the 7000 rows are read prior to be ordered. I think that it is not necessary for the optimizer to access all the partitions to read all the rows because only the first 100 are needed and the partitions are bounded by SD_DATEKEY.
    Any idea to accelerate this query? I know that including a WHERE clause for SD_DATEKEY will increase the performance but I need the first 100 rows and I don't know the date to limit the query.
    Anybody knows if this time is a normal response time for tis query or should it be improved?
    Thank to all in advance for the future help.

    Thank to all for the replies.
    - We have computed statistics and no changes in the response time.
    - We are discussing about restrict the query to some partitions but for the moment this is not the best solution because we don't know where are the latest 100 rows.
    - The query from Maurice had the same response time (more or less)
    select * from
    (SELECT * FROM DETAIL WHERE SD_KEY = 'xxxxxxxx' ORDER BY SD_DATEKEY)
    where ROWNUM < 101
    - We have a local index on SD_DATEKEY. Do we need another one on SD_KEY? Should it be created as BITMAP?
    I can't test inmediately your sugestions because this is a problem with one of our customers. In our test system (that has only 10Million records) the indexes accelerate the query but this is not the same in the customer system. I think the problem is the total records on the table.

  • Query designing problem while applying cell properties

    Hello Experts,
    I have a problem while designing query. Problem is as follow:
    I have a calculated field on key figure column. This key figure calculates variance between 2 columns.
    for E.g I have 2 columns Budget and Actual and third column is %Variance which should be
    1. ((Actual - Budget)/Budget) *100 or
    2. ((Budget -Actual)/Budget)*100, depening on some values on the row i should use any of these 2 formulas but the result should be dispalyed in single column % Variance.
    how can i change the formula in key figures depending on these conditions. I can achieve this by applying cells but i dont want to do so as it is very complex way to desing these queries.
    also let me know applying cells on query affects its performance or not?
    Regards,
    Nirav

    Hi Nitin,
    Your reply may help me.
    But my exact requirement is not that. Requirement is as follow:
    I have created Char. Structure in row which contains few rows as revenue and few rows as expense.
    I created them by creating selections. Now in case of expense the variance should be                (Budget-Actual)/Budget *100.
    In case of revenue variance should be (Actual-Budget)/Budget *100.
    So, here i have to find out revenue & expense char. iresspective of which one is greater.

    Nirav

  • BEx query selection screen takes long time to popup

    Hi,
    I have a query which is taking long time to popup the selection screen. I have tried in RSRT the generate report option, the generating report takes 45 to 60 mins. After the report is generated the query selection screen comes up in couple of seconds. The first time I run the query everything its fine but then for the second time the problem comes back again.
    The selection screen takes +/- 40 mins to comes up in RSRT and in the portal it times out.
    I have run the statistics of the query and according to the statistics report the query takes a  lot of time for the following component :
    OLAP: Query Gen.     2681,312682
    I have removed the query from the cache monitor and after that regenerate the report. But these steps didnu2019t solve my problem.
    I made two test queries, in one query I have made the CKFu2019s and RKFu2019s directly at the infoprovider, and dragged and dropped in the KF structure. In the other query I made the CKFu2019s and RKFu2019s in the query KF structure itself. The query where I have the CKFu2019s and RKFu2019s at the infoprovider that query times out, the other query where I put the CKFu2019s and RKFu2019s in the query KF structure doesn't has this performance problem.
    What I donu2019t know is why the query is failing when I use RKFu2019s and CKFu2019s from the infoprovider, the other query donu2019t have this problem.
    Please advise how to proceed.
    Thanks in advance,
    Arash

  • SQL Query join problem

    Hi,
    I have two tables in my db, the patient table holds details of patients, the contact table holds details of contacts related to the patient.
    patient table
    patientid - primary key - int
    patient name - varchar
    contact table
    contactid - primary key - int
    patientid - foreign key from patient table - int
    incontact - foreign key from paient table to relate contacts - int
    My contact table has the following data:
    contactid patientid incontact
    2              19           21
    2               19          22
    I can retrieve data for the patients that have been in contact with patientid 19, by using the following join:
    SELECT * FROM PATIENT
    LEFT JOIN incontact
    ON incontact.incontact = patient.patientid
    WHERE incontact.patientid = 19
    However, can you please tell me how I can get data from the patients table where the incontact is 21?
    So I can get contacts from patients and patients from contacts?
    Thankyou

    Thanks very much for your replies again.
    Basically, I have a table of patients, and I would like to link them to each other, many to many.
    I populate the incontact table, which stores the original posted patientID, and the new generated patientID. I populate the DB with the code below.
    <cfquery name="update" datasource="staffdirectory">
    SET NOCOUNT ON
    INSERT INTO patient (title,firstname,surname,gender,DOB,telephone,address1,address2,address3,town,postcode
    VALUES ('#title#','#firstname#','#surname#','#gender#',#createodbcdate(createdate(startyear, startmonth, startday))#    ,'#telephone#','#address1#','#address2#','#address3#','#town#','#postcode#
    SELECT @@Identity AS newid
    SET NOCOUNT OFF
    </cfquery>
          <cfquery name="insert" datasource="staffdirectory">
      INSERT INTO incontact (related,incontact)
    VALUES (#patientid#,#update.newid#)
    </cfquery>
    This works fine and I can get all related patients by usingthe following query:
    SELECT * FROM patient
    LEFT JOIN incontact
    ON patient.patientid  = incontact.related
    WHERE  incontact.incontact = #patientid#
    MY problem occurs when I want to find related patients from the related column, the reverse relationship. I use this seperate query:
    SELECT * FROM patient
    LEFT JOIN incontact
    ON patient.patientid  = incontact.incontact
    WHERE  incontact.related= #patientid#
    Is there a way I can combine both queries, or is there a better way I can achieve the same result?
    Many thanks again

  • Query reusing problem

    Hi, kodo team.
    I have following code.

    for (int i = 0; weatherVOs != null && i < weatherVOs.length; i++)

    parameters.put("regionCode", weatherVOs.getRegionCode());
    parameters.put("wxDate", new
    Timestamp(CommonTimeUtil.getGMTTime(weatherVOs[i].getWxDate(), "GMT+9",
    "yyyy-MM-dd")));
    Collection col = (Collection)query.executeWithMap(parameters);
    Iterator iterator = col.iterator();

    Sorry, The option is "javax.jdo.option.IgnoreCache : true". With false, I
    found the problem.That makes more sense. The reason the second query selects all objects, then,
    is that between the first and second query you've modified some objects without
    flushing their changes to the database. This means Kodo has to run the query
    in-memory on the changed objects in cache when IgnoreCache is set to false. You
    can prevent in-memory processing of the query with any of the following options:
    1. Set IgnoreCache to true, so Kodo always runs queries against the database and
    ignores the changes you've made to objects in the current transaction.
    2. Run all your queries for a given transaction before changing your objects.
    3. Set kodo.FlushBeforeQueries to true, which will cause Kodo to flush your
    changes to the database before a query that would otherwise have to be performed
    in memory. Then Kodo can run the query against the DB.

    The system always asks with the description of the field you refer to with the parameter variable in the select statement.
    I sometimes defined a UDT only for getting the appropriate title in the parameter entering window. The table has no data; I used it only for its field names.
    (The parameter request can be placed inside a comment and the entered value is used setting an SQL variable like this:
    declare @d datetime
    /*select t.createdate from ordr t where t.createdate=[%0]*/
    set @d=[%0]
    This SQL variable can be used later in the real query.)
    (But then you loose the possibility to choose from the u2018List of existing valuesu2019
