Query to find the string in the schema for different tables

Hi all,
Is the output possible :
1) Schema with N number of tables where N>100
2) You have string Say 'abc' and u dont know which column of the 100 tables of the schema this string falls.
3)you want to retrieve the table name, column name and expected string
Output:
Table name column name expected string
A a_id “abc”
D d_add “abc”

You could probably adapt this solution that michaels provided ages ago (and which you'd have found if you bothered to search)...
michaels>  var val varchar2(5)
michaels>  exec :val := 'as'
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
michaels>  select distinct substr (:val, 1, 11) "Searchword",
                substr (table_name, 1, 14) "Table",
                substr (t.column_value.getstringval (), 1, 50) "Column/Value"
           from cols,
                table
                   (xmlsequence
                       (dbms_xmlgen.getxmltype ('select ' || column_name
                                                || ' from ' || table_name
                                                || ' where upper('
                                                || column_name
                                                || ') like upper(''%' || :val
                                                || '%'')'
                                               ).extract ('ROWSET/ROW/*')
                   ) t
--        where table_name in ('EMPLOYEES', 'JOB_HISTORY', 'DEPARTMENTS')
       order by "Table"

  • Where can I find the schema for config.xml file of jax-rpc

    For the xrpcc tool I need to create a config.xml file, does any body know where can I find the schema for it?

    http://java.sun.com/webservices/docs/1.0/tutorial/doc/JAXRPCxrpcc.html and all your questions will be answered... except maybe why aren't these pages linked from the main index anymore? (they were when 1.0 of the tutorial was released, but then there were no docs for wscompile or wsdeploy. The JAX-RPC release notes fixed the latter, but around 1.0_01 they broke the former.)

    Getting separate sums for credit and debit sounds like a job for GROUP BY.
    Thanks & Regards,
    SB2011Here's one way:
    SELECT    credit
    ,       SUM (amt)     AS total
    FROM       customers
    GROUP BY  credit
    I hope this answers your question.
    If not, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only), and the results you want from that data.
    Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
    Always say what version of Oracle you're using (e.g. 11.2.0.2.0).

  • How to find the sequence for a table.

    Hi Everyone,
    I've got plenty of sequences. How can I identify that what are the sequences acting on a table?

    Greg.Spall wrote:
    In my last job, we used the table/column comments to point to the sequence.
    so:
    CREATE SEQUENCE seq_test1;
    CREATE TABLE my_table
    (id   number);
    COMMENT ON TABLE my_table IS 'Test table for demonstration purposes on OTN';
    COMMENT ON COLUMN my_table.id IS 'Primary Key, sequence populated: seq_test1';... or something like that :P
    But yeah, outside of that, good luck if you have no documentation!Of course, ALL of the 'code search' solutions put forth are assuming the references will be found in PL/SQL packages. That ignores the potential that the code could be located somewhere else, like application code that exists OUTSIDE of the database .... Bottom line is that there is no 100% one-size-fits-all method for automating the discovery of relationships between tables and sequences.

  • Find the schema which contains all these tables

    In my DB, only SCOTT has all the three tables EMP,DEPT, BONUS. There are schemas which have either one or two of these tables but only SCOTT has all these 3 tables.
    To find the schema which contains all these *3* tables. I tried the below mentioned queries which gave the wrong answers.
    1.
    select TABLE_NAME, owner from dba_Tables where table_name IN ('EMP','DEPT', 'BONUS')-- will return any schema which has any of these tables. So, wrong result
    2.
    select TABLE_NAME, owner from dba_Tables where table_name = 'EMP' AND TABLE_NAME='DEPT' AND TABLE_NAME= 'BONUS'-- Wrong result because it is mutually contradictory. As AP has mentioned below, A table_name cannot be equal to all the three tables .

    Thanks everyone. So, this means that this seemingly simple query cannot be written with just a plain AND , OR . Right?You're right. Every query needs SELECT and FROM, for example.
    What's wrong with Solomon's simple solution?
    Whatever you don't like about it, I'm sure there's another approach that doesn't have the same problem, even if it is slower and more complicated.
    As AP pointed out, no one row has all the information you need to decide if that row will be part of the result set or not.
    You need something that can make a decision based on the data in multiple rows.
    GROUP BY, like Solomon suggested, is the easiest and most efficient way I know of.
    Anything that GROUP BY does can probably be done by analytic functions. In this case, it will be more complicated and slower, but you can get the same results.
    A self-join, as user13524665 demonstrated, is another way.
    You could also get the results you want using EXISTS-, IN-, or scalar sub-queries, all of which would be even more complicated, and scale just as poorly, as a self-join.
    CONNECT BY, recursive sub-queries, MODEL, and XML functions can also look at several rows at the same time. I don't believe you want to read and test soltuions for all of these any more than I want to write all of them. Solomon gave a good solution for your original problem. If you want to add some extra restrictions to your problem (such as "I can't use ... or ...") explain clearly what those restrictions are, and why you need them.

    On the second database (B) use this query to find the SQL which used by the schema A (DB LINK USER). Check the SQL_FULLTEXT column.
    select sql_fulltext,sql_id,module,parsing_schema_name,parsing_user_id,first_load_time,loads,users_executing,rows_processed,plsql_exec_time,sorts,fetches,invalidations,parse_calls,cpu_time,elapsed_time,disk_reads,buffer_gets
    from V$sqlarea
    where parsing_schema_name = 'A' --and to_char(first_load_time,'dd/mm/yyyy') like  '%11/08/2007'

  • Query to find the list of users having access to a particular scenario

    Hi,
    I am learning Hyperion Planning 9.2 x version. I wanted to know the query to find the list of users having access to Plan Iteration - 1 scenarion.
    As I am new to Hyperion Essbase and Hyperion Planning, I am assuming these ideas work out to get the desired result.
    1) As Hyperion Planning uses Relational DB to store the User Security information, we can query the list of users who is having access to Plan Iteration - 1 Scenario.
    I am not sure if this solution works. Please correct me If I am wrong.
    2) We can also query from the essbase editor to find out who all having access to this scenario.
    If the above is correct, can you please provide me the query.
    I am really need of this and I will be happy if any one provide the solution.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi,
    If you are looking for some SQL to retrieve the access rights by member then you can use something like (SQL Server code though can easily be modified for Oracle)
    SELECT usr.object_name as Username,mem.object_name as Member,
    'Access Rights' = CASE acc.access_mode
    WHEN -1 THEN 'None'
    WHEN 1 THEN 'Read'
    WHEN 2 THEN 'Write'
    WHEN 3 THEN 'Write'
    ELSE 'Unknown' END,
    'Relation' = CASE acc.flags
    WHEN 0 THEN 'Member'
    WHEN 5 THEN 'Children'
    WHEN 6 THEN 'Children (inclusive)'
    WHEN 8 THEN 'Descendants'
    WHEN 9 THEN 'Descendants (inclusive)'
    ELSE 'Unknown' END
    FROM
    hsp_access_control acc, hsp_object mem, hsp_object usr
    WHERE acc.object_id = mem.object_id
    AND acc.user_id = usr.object_id
    AND mem.object_name = 'Plan Iteration - 1'

    How do I find the overall database size?
    The biggest portion of a database's size comes from the datafiles. To find out how many megabytes are allocated to ALL datafiles:
    select sum(bytes)/1024/1024 "Meg" from dba_data_files;
    To get the size of all TEMP files:
    select nvl(sum(bytes),0)/1024/1024 "Meg" from dba_temp_files;
    To get the size of the on-line redo-logs:
    select sum(bytes)/1024/1024 "Meg" from sys.v_$log;
    Putting it all together into a single query:
    select a.data_size+b.temp_size+c.redo_size "total_size"
    from ( select sum(bytes) data_size
    from dba_data_files ) a,
    ( select nvl(sum(bytes),0) temp_size
    from dba_temp_files ) b,
    ( select sum(bytes) redo_size
    from sys.v_$log ) c;
    Another query ("Free space" reports data files free space):
    col "Database Size" format a20
    col "Free space" format a20
    select round(sum(used.bytes) / 1024 / 1024 ) || ' MB' "Database Size"
    , round(free.p / 1024 / 1024) || ' MB' "Free space"
    from (select bytes from v$datafile
    union all
    select bytes from v$tempfile
    union all
    select bytes from v$log) used
    , (select sum(bytes) as p from dba_free_space) free
    group by free.p

    Hi,
    Your results clearly states that there is no salary data which is been captured as well as there are no element entries which are assigned to any assignment.
    Please do the below which will insert records in salary as well as element entries table:
    1. Add a salary proposal to any active employee (People Enter and Maination --> Search for any employee --> Assignment --> Salary) - This will insert a record in PER_PAY_PROPOSALS table
    2. Add an element entry to any active assignment (People Enter and Maination --> Search for any employee --> Assignment --> Entries) - This will insert a record in PAY_ELEMENT_ENTRIES_F and PAY_ELEMENT_ENTRY_VALUES_F table
    Hope this clarifies.
    Thanks,
    Sanjay
