Query User Exist Variable

Hi Guys,
We have a scenario where the user enters date and the report needs to bring stock value on last day of last fiscal year.
Say for example the user enters 8/16/2010 we need to display stock value on 11/25/2009.
Assumption: Last fiscal period : November
Last day: 25th
Looking for user exist code.

Goto T-code SMOD and put enhacement RSR00001, then go to the EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001 and enter to de include (that should be ZXRSRU01).
Once there in the include, you have to wirte the code:
First your variables and then write the code for your Variable exit... Suppose that your Var-Exit is ZVAR, and the user entru is ZUSER, you code should be something similar to the following:

Then you say that you have to show the previous fiscal year. so:

BI 7 Bex Query - User exit variables after variable screen re-processed

User exit variables are not re-calculated after the variable screen is called up to re-run report with a new selection. Is there some way to force the user exit variables to change? I am aware of note 1064273 but this doesn't seem to help in these circumstances.
Example:
My Bex Query uses OI_FYPER for a static characteristic selection and I have defined a customer exit formula variable which uses the values in OI_FYPER.
All works fine when the query is run first time but if the user calls up the variable screen to change the selection and re-run the query, the customer exit formula variable is not re-calculated (customer exit is called but only with ISTEP = 3).
Software version is NS2004S (BI 7.0) SPS10, BI ABAP SP11, BI JAVA SP10, BI Front End Package 1401 rel 354.

2) As you mentioned, yes the user exist to be written will be for user-exit variable for dynamic period selection - An Example on how to create this will be helpful
3) Once the above variable is created, what are the steps to include this variable in the Bex Query?
4) Once all the queries to be used in dashboard are implemented with the exit variable, how to create a variant to be used in Broadcasting?
5) How and where to configure the email recipients (to whom this dashboard will be sent via mail)?
6) How to set up the BW broadcaster in BW 3.5 using the control query ?( My question is though we have to send the dashboard to the users, which has multiple queries, how a single control query with variant will help us).

How to edit the properties for existing variables in BEX query, so that I can get multiple input selections

Dear fellow developers,
I'm trying to edit an existing variable using BEX query, so that it can allow multiple input selections.
As you can see in the screenshot attached, the option is selectable during creation.
However, during editing of an existing field, this field (Details -> Basic Settings -> Variable Represents) is not selectable.
Does anyone knows why, and how to remedy this?

Yes you can do it at the table level.
Go to SE11 enter table name as RSZGLOBV.
Enter the technical name of variable in VNAM field..You need to change the value in VPARSEL column.
Please make sure to get the where used list of this variable so that you can know the impact,if something goes wrong.
Also change it in DEV and then transport across the landscape.

Query problem - authorization and user entry variable as filter

hi,
I made two variables for the characteristic 0COMP_CODE.
The first variable is a user entry variable for the selection.
The second variable is my authorization variable with multiple single values.
This two variables are defined as filter in the query.
The problem is as follows:
A user is authorized to see the data from three companies. For example companies 1, 2 and 3.
Now he enters on the selection for the 0COMP_CODE the value 2 to see only the data of this company. The query result gets me confused. It shows all data of the companies 2 and others. It basicly shows more companies than he has selected.
Other companies of the authorization variable are shown.
It works if the user has the authorization over all companies.
Did someone has the same problem?

Hi Pascal,
this is an issue. The main problem is that you just can't influence via the exit for a vairable "ready for input".
What could be done is define a dummy element (hidden in the final display) in your query like a restricted KeyFigure to a variable based on COMP_CODE; let's say VAR1 ready for input.
You char COMP_CODE would then be filtered by a variable not ready for input processed by user exit, VAR2.
The exit would ready VAR1. If there any value complying with the authorized one then populate VAR2 with it, otherwise remove it (you could use STEP_3 to raise a message "you aren't authorized to use comp_code XYZ" and return to the initial variable screen). If VAR1 is empty, then populate VAR2 wit all corresponding aithorized values.
The main issue is that
1- this is bypassing the standard functionality of authorization variables
2- any report would have to be designed like that!
What we have done is to add nav_attr / and added more IObjs in the InfoProviders related to 0COMP_CODE reflecting a country, region or any other group of comp_code authorization and then have based our authorizations on those nav....

RRI & user exit variable

Hello RRI specialist!
I need to implement the following logic: user executes report 1 (sender) which contains characteristic Material (and several other characteristics). With the RRI the user must be abled to jump into report 2 (receiver)displaying the Material Type(s) of the Material selectied in report 1.
Note: in this case there is a n:m relationship between Material and Material Type. The relationship between Material and Material Type exists in a Z-table.
I thought to implement this with 2 alternatives:
First alternative, under Assignment Details, assigning Material to variable V1 (being a User-Exit variable of type Material Type) used in report 2. From report 1 I hope to jump into report 2 by "selecting" on a Material (e.g. 4711) and then read the Z-table when i_step = 2 to find the corresponding Material Type.
Prolem: when I set a break point for V1 in ZXRSRU01 I see that V1 does not appear in the table I_T_VAR_RANGE (for any i_step), i.e. the values (e.g. 4711) are no passed from the sender selection to V1.
Second alternative, under Assignment Details, assigning Material to variable V2 (being a User-Entry/Default variable of type Material) used in report 2. Report 2 will then contain variable V3 (being a User-Entry/Default variable of type Material Type). The user-exit logic will read V2 from I_T_VAR_RANGE when i_step = 2 and the Z-table to find the corresponding Material Type.
Problem: exactly the same as above. NOTE: it does not help that V3 is of type replacement type from the sender report.
When I use the debugger of the RRI in RSRT2 both alternatives seem to work correctly.
Does the variable defined under Assignment Details have to fulfill certain conditions in order for the values to be passed?
Is it simply that ZXRSRU01 is called before the values are passed from the sender report?
Anybody got an idea what I am doing wrong and how I could implement the requirement to read the Z-table in the RRI jump????

That was a good explanation of issue and approach. It had been quitesome time to work on user exits. I am not sure the following views can help you.. but i am also interested in the solution..
1) can we include the material group in the sendor ( hidden) and can this me directly assigned to target?
2) I think i_step = 2, get excuted after user filled the values manually. How about trying i_step = 3, i think this is the loop for reading other than manual entries..
3) how about the trails of filing the default values at i_step = 1, on the taget query names. Notsure this will give you the solution.. just my thoughts..

User Entry variable - AND condition

Hi,
The requirement is, if the user enters two materials A and B, the query should pull out all the transactions with BOTH materials in it.
If the user entry variable with selection option is used, it pulls out the records even if one of the materials exist (OR condition).
Is there a way to have the AND condition without the use of Customer exit variable?

The scenario is like this. Transaction 1 has both the materials A and B. Transaction 2 has only material A. Transaction 3 has only material B.

When the user enters materials A and B, the output should contain only trans.no:1.

Assigning a customer exit variable to a user entry variable

Hello all,
I'm creating a PCA query and would, in a certain column, like to show the year's cumulated value (key figure amount), based on documents posted up until a certain posting period (specified via a user entry). E.g. from 01.2006 to [user entry] where the "from"-year is also dependent of the user entry.
1) Where do I do this coding (transaction code/function module etc..)?
2) How do I do this coding?
3) Does this kind of variables exist as standard? If yes, which one?

I have now created a new input variable named 'Z_FPER' (single value) which I want to read into the exit variable...
I debugged the query and found out that the value of I_STEP is 1, which is wrong. It should be I_STEP = 2... However, I have definied my user exit variable as "no input" and "mandatory". What else should I do to make it a '2'?

Need help in creating a user exit variable

Hi all,
I have created a query in which a key figure needs to be automated with an user exit variable.I want to derive the value of this key figure 'x' based on calender month.
This key figure should get the cumulative value from the first month of the fiscal year till the calender year month entered while executing the query.
I got a basic understanding on the User exits from SDN. But Im not sure how to implement this logic.
I would really appreciate if you could provide me a detailed explanation of how to do this.

User-Exit Variable

Hi, I created a simple user-exit variable and for some reason the variable seems to get executed around 16 times and then the query gives me the below error messages.   Any ideas why my variable would have I_STEP = 2 many times before it bombs out?
Note: This variable is based on a Virtual Characteristic I just implemented and is probably related. The query did not fail before trying to implement this user exit based on the Virtual Characteristic.

OK, It looks like because it is a Virtual Characteristic that the User Exit Variable Code will be called every time the "Virtual Characteristic" code is executed as well. The real problem seemed to be that I had used a BT in the Variable User Exit Range. Once I changed that to "EQ' it works fine now. Thanks

HQ Company using 544 calender for FI closing
1 of the coutry need to use Month Calender for FI Closing
When i do testing on FA depreciation run using tcode AFAB, i cannot specify the Posting date into the
depreciation posting date and i need to post to correct period.
Do u know whether in New Ledger / New GL have a user exist or enhancement we can change the data in
table FAGLFLEXT or FAGLFLEXA in the specify ledger ?

You can get the instance using the method get_instance of the class cl_sem_variable, and call the method get_value with the return. Check the example:

User entry variable with exclude values

Hello All,
I created a user entry/ default value variable, which allows multiple single values and is optional entry. And I also got to exclude few values from this infoobject as well as have a variable. When I select and exclude my value from selsction and run the report, I get a system error and the varibale is converted to mandatory entry. The detail error message is displayed below. Any useful input will be awarded
Diagnosis
Variable &V1& is used in the query in such a way, that an optional entry is not possible.
For example, you might be using an "Exclude", or the variable might be connected using OR to additional selections for &V2& in the global filter, but is still displayed in the columns selections.
It is also not possible to use an optional parameter variable to fill an interval selection in either the from-field or the to-field.

If you are able to accept the mandatory entry, you need not do anything. Otherwise you must work with several variables in the query. You can use an optional interval variable to do this.
