Query with Nav. Attribute Hierarchy

Hi,
I have enabled Org. Hierarchy as Nav attribute from Contact Person. It is an custom hierarchy. The Hierarchies are defined only to the level of Org. Units and not the contact person. The transaction data has null value for Org. Unit and so i am trying to use the nav. attribute based on contact person.
I have an infoobject called "ORGUNIT" and created an hierarchies like this:

The bexreport should look like this:

But it is like this

If the Contact person is assigned to Germany(Child) or Italy(Child) the data is shown in Child once and again in Europe and also in Global.
Is there any way to suppress the values in Europe (parent) and Global(Parent)?

Hi,
Yes this is often annoying that the parent nodes are also split according to the second characteristic. But the technical behaviour is actually right as the node is the sum of the two persons.
The only way I could think of solving this is to use the function 'Display rows as hierarchy'. The result should then be:
global
-->europe                   300 USD
>Germany                100 USD
>ABC                   100 USD
>Italy                  200 USD
>XYZ                   200 USD

Aggregates based on Nav Attribute Hierarchy

Hi,
I have naviational attribute hierarchy based on created by and enabled as navigation attribute from Infocube. So for each transaction the created by pulls up the corresponding nav attribute from master data.
I have enabled the Created By nav attribute hierarchy in the query and the rendering of the hierarchy is really slow and the performance went down.
What is the best way to increase performace creating aggregates at Created by level or Created by Nav attribute hierarchy level?
Is there any document available on this topic?

Query with Cost Center Hierarchy giving incorrect results

Hi All,
I have a universe built based on BEx query on Cost Center cubes. When enabling hierarchy in BEx Query and building Web intelligence Report based on the universe, I get incorrect results. The levels of the hierarchy is incorrect, many of the cost centers are missing etc. I checked the universe and confirmed that all levels of hierarchy are generated correctly. The Lov generated for these levels are correct and I see the complete hierarchy when using the BEx Variable in Universe for filtering.
I tried the same query with Hierarchy disabled with a different universe and it is providing correct results. Not sure what I'm missing here. Any inputs regarding this is appreciated.

Ingo, Thanks for your suggestion. Of course, I did update the Universe after any changes in the query. Tried different query setting related to hierarchy to make it work, but didn't many any difference and I get consistently incorrect results.
One thing what I wanted to confirm is, if there is any known bug in SP 2 Fix Pack 2.7 related to hierarchies. If not, it might be me doing some thing wrong and I will look into in more detail.

Refreshing Hierarchy node variable in BEx query with change in hierarchy

Hi all,
We have used a hierarchy node variable on Characteristic ZECCSAC (user-defined) and used it in a BEx query with default value set to a particular node value. Upto this, it is working fine.
The hierarchy used in the query, with the hierarchy node variable, was later changed ( and in future it can undergo changes ). Since the number of records in the hierarchy are changing, the nodenames of the hierarchy nodes are changing. But the hier node variable default value is still set to the earlier nodename for that node description. So at runtime it is giving an error "ECCS Account Number is invalid"!
Can anyone suggest how to refresh a hierarchy node variable default value each time a query is run so that the latest nodename is always taken ?

Selection criteria with Nav Attribute

Hello,
I have a scenario where I added a navigational attribute in APO BW. The nav attribute is reflecting correctly in Master Planning Object Structure. But it is not reflecting in the selection criteria in interactive planning.
Please help.

That is great point. I tried to edit the planning book and in the characteristics tab (in the edit mode of planning book) the new attribute is not reflecting in the planning area (which is on the characteristics tab on the right hand side) to take me to the left to planning book.
I hope I am clear.

Problem extracting, query with display attributes, in RSCRM_BAPI.

Has anybody experienced that problem?
When I execute the extract, the job cancels itself after 2 minutes. Sometimes even shuts down the DEV server.
There is no Dump in ST22.
The only error I get is:
TRUNCATE TABLE "/BIC/0CZTEST" where ZTEST is the extractor
But when I execute the extract with the same query without the display attributes it runs just fine.
Help please...

Check Table("/BIC/0CZTEST") using T-code "SE14".
If necessary, drop and creat, again.

Query with user-exit hierarchy variable and input ready hierarchy node var.

Hello everyone.
we are using several hierarchies (2005, 2006 and 2007) of the same info object 0FUNDS_CTR (one for each fiscal year). We would like to be able to use same reports regardless of chosen fiscal year (selected hierarchy) and ever more, to select node inside proper hierarchy. At the moment reports use 3 parameters:
1) fiscal period from - fiscal period to
2) hierarchy name
3) hierarchy node
Our goal is to get report with only 2 parameters:
1) fiscal period from - fiscal period to
2) hierarchy node
since hierarchy name could be derived (user exit) from fiscal period.
When user selects hierarchy node he is being asked to select hierarchy name (despite of user exit for hierarchy name) and key date (populated with current date).
We would like to avoid step of user selecting hierarchy. Is it possible?
Any other approaches to problem would be appreciated.

Hi Jörg,
As mentioned, I_STEP = 3 is processed once per query, not once per varaiable.
If this statement is placed within case-endcase for I_VNAM it never will be processed.

Infoset - Query with navigational attribute as filter

Dear all,
We have created an InfoSet linking an InfoObject 0COORDER to an Info InfoCube containing order data.
We have used a Left outer join to link 0COORDER tol 0COORDER in the InfoCube. The purpose is to be able to report on all 0COORDER even if they have no transaction data.
When creating a query we get a list of all 0COORDER as expected. The problem arises when we try to use the navigational attribute "Status" from the InfoObect 0COORDER as a filter in the query. This does not work at all.
Does anyone know what we are doing wrong here ? We are using BEx Query Designer 7.0.

Hi Mikkel
When you say that your Status field does not work at all, what is the error you are getting? Are you able to see this field in the query designer. If that is not the case that means your "status" is not chosen in the infoset design.
If you are able to see it in the designer then please let us know what is the exact error you are getting.

Auth Error in BW while executing a query with Company hierarchy

I have an issue in BW Reporting auth objects.. Hope to get resolved here.
We are using BI 7.0. However We are still using the Reporting auth objects for fiield level security. We are having a problem while executing a query with company code hierarchy ,which is built on a multiprovider.
The Background is as below
Multiprovider: ZM_CD01 with 5 infocubes
Query: Has 0COMP_CODE as free characteristics with display hierarchy for Japan (Node APSC_012 is fixed value)
Node APSC_012 has 4070,4076,407A,408A,9830 company code values under it.
Reporting Auth Objects:
Z0COMPCODE: (for flat values)
4070,4076,407A,408A,407M,407P,8236, :
ZHCOMPCODE: (For tree structure)
4070,4076,407A,408A,407M,407P,8080, :
APSC_MGMT_HIER (Nodes: APSC_012,APSC019)
Both the reporting authorization objects are checked for multi provider ZM_CD01 in RSSM
While executing the query the following Auth error is received.
You do not have authorization to read object "Z0COMPCODE" authorization on '0COMP_CODE'
When I change the values for Z0COMPCODE to * it works fine. No Auth error.
Please help me resolve this issue. It is very critical now as the user needs to execute some important reports.

Hi Chandra,
Try the following:
1. Go to tcode RSSM
2. Enter the cube ZM_CD01 (all the other cubes) then click change.
3. Afterwards, u201Cunchecku201D ALL Authorization Objects under this cube. (Repeate the same for all the cubes)
4. Click Save.
This will resolve the issue.

Transferring the Cube with activation of some Nav Attribute

Hi , In Production system, I have a sales multicube which has data coming in from sales overview and sales history cube. Data is loaded from mARCH 2006 to Till date every day in 2 basic cubes "sales overview" and "sales history"
Question 1:I need to now avtivate "ship to party - postal code" which is there in two basic cubes but not checked so I now select the check mark in nav attribute "ship to party - postal code" for both the cube in development system. and same in mULTICUBE should I Transport 2 basic Cubes, and Multicube and All effected Queries or just the query in which change is requested.
Question #2 : How to reload all the data which is right now there in Production, If I transport the cube with changes from DevLOPMENT to Production will the data be deleted in Production. All Data is feeding in Cube from ODS so Can I just Transport the cubes in Production and Use Update data to data target in ods. will the data be reloaded in cubes by doing that. Data loaded is delta so please let me know asap what will be best way to make the change and also save the data that is right now there in cubes in Production. since i have to transport it from dev no changes allowed in production.Hope you will reply back soon. Hardeep,
    You need to transport the Sales Overview cube, Slaes History, Multicube cube and modified Queries.
    when ever you make changes like Making Navigational there is no need to delete the data. you just do one transport.

Why do you remove some itmes using
Descendants function? Generally, we use FILTER function to achieve the requirement.

Query with a cube and infoobj attributes

Hi Gurus,
I have a cube CUBE1 and it contains Infoobject IO_ADDR. Attributes of IO_ADDR are address details. Can I display cube details as well as address details in a Bex report without creating infoset or multicube etc? Pls guide me if it is possible..
What would be the best method to do this?

It is possible !!!!!!!!
Just check whether the Add Attribute is Nav or Display Attribute.In any case u can get that into report.But if it is Nav Attibute then can drill down based on that Address Object.Else u can change it to
Nav att and then include it in the report.
Say if it is Material and MAt Group is Attribute then
In the Left hand side of the Query when u drill down on MAterial,Material Attributes,U can find Mat Group.Just Drag as drop the Mat and Mat Group.For Display Attribute it goes Hand in HAnd.
For Nav Attribute,it will display as Material_Matgroup in the Drill Down.just drag and Drop.

ADF BC : "Attributes selected in query with no column type found! ..."

Using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.0, I have this "Selected in Query" attribute, "Never" updatable, in my Entity Object.
The Entity Object is based on the SCOTT.EMP table and the attribute, called "BonusInfo", is defined using the expression " '[bonus info ' || (SAL * 2) || ']' ".

While creating this Entity Object, I got a "Business Components" dialog that says:
"Column type is not specified for this attribute. Specifying column-type and precision results in better query performance at runtime. Do you wish to set column type to VARCHAR2(255)?"
I clicked "Yes".
I also created two View Objects based on this Entity Object.
In the "Create View Object" wizard "Step 4 of 7: Attribute Settings" I got a "Business Components" diaglog that says:
"Attributes selected in query with no column type found! Specifying column-type and precision results in better query performance at runtime. Do you wish to set default column type for these attributes?"
I clicked "Yes".
Testing the query in "Step 5 of 7: SQL Statement" showed "Query is valid.".
question:
Why do I keep getting the message ...

... in the View Object Editor if I click on different attributes?
(I don't get such a message the first time I click on an attribute after opening the View Object Editor, but after that it keeps popping up each time I click on a different attribute, no matter what I answer "Yes", "No" or "Cancel".)

BC needs the column type and precision so that we can allocate the correct JDBC buffer size; otherwise we would just allocate 2k per string.

Attributes selected in query with no column type found! (solved)

Dear JHeadstart Team,
In the view object Editor I have two entity based attributes attrib1 and attrib2
both with type Number. Both have aliases with type number(9,0)
If attrib1 is null I want to have the value of attrib2.
In the expression box I put: nvl(attrib1,attrib2)
When I press the ok button I get the next error message.
"Attributes selected in query with no column type found!
Specifying column-type and precision results in better query performance at runtime.
Do you wish to set default column type for these attributes? "
When I say ok I get the next message:
"An error occurred. Unable to apply all the wizard changes.
Column type cannot be changed for Entity based attribute.
Exception: oracle.jbo.dt.objects.JboExeption."
The details button serves no extra information.
Since both the attributes have the same type I thought the nvl commando should work.
But what does the "no column type found" sentence mean?

I found out that this is only possible in the entity object class.
So I have to check my limited java skills.
