Query wizard and PLD

Hi experts,
I use query wizard making a query, and I can found it in query manager. then I created a report for that query. everything is ok but i don't know how to show the report and print it out. please help, thanks.

This is very simple goto tools queries-> query Print Layout
it will display all the query print layout . select the query for which you want to have the preview.
and select teh print preview button it will display you report..

Query Generator is purely used for reporting as it uses SQL which is a strong tool of reporting. Moreover you can use the query generator for Formatted Searches as well as its SQL queries may useful in creating SP Transactions Notifications, Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers etc.....

Problem in BW query wizard

Hi,
When i m opening bi query wizard..its showing error
error:32003 service not found cannot find com.sap.portal.guimachine.BIlit.commandhand....
I am using vc 6.0 and portal (EP 6.0 SP15). I va imported 4 sda files from sp13 addons in portal.
for EP kit its working fine but for BI kit its showing problem...

Hi Amit,
We add few addons on portal for visual composer.Till EP6.0 sp13 the addons had to be deployed separately onto portal,but since SP14 onwards these come with the portal patch itself and we don't have to deploy the .sda files explicitly for visual composer.
The constructor of BWQueryFunction class which is being generated by the guimachine of Visual composer corresponds to that present in com.sap.portal.guimachine.BIKITapi.jar file present in SP13 addons and hence you get a compile time error when trying to deploy onto sp15 or sp16 portal.
One solution to this problem is to deploy the visual composer addons corresponding to SP13.The jar file com.sap.portal.guimachine.BIKITapi.jar is present in com.sap.visualcomposer.BIKiT.sda file.
Hope this solves your problem.
Otherwise, try this one also :
In BW Server -
Go to transaction WSCONFIG, to configure Query_view_data Service
Web service definition:- query_view_data and then click on create Icon.
Provide the URL (in our case it is: /sap/bw/xml/
soap/queryview).This will also Create External aliases.

Query wizard in OEM

I have Oracle Enterprise Manager and connected to my Oracle 9i database.
It looks like it has alot of nice tools. Please advise if there is a query wizard where I can select tables and create a query?
I dont see any query wizard tools which would be very helpful for creating table join queries.

Hi!
Right-clicking over any table in the table list you will see a "Table Data Editor..." option in the menu.
There you will have just a few options considering that table, i.e., projection and selection.
There is an option to generate report and data extraction.
I am afraid that you don't have any join option.

Query Wizard error

In the dimension tab of the query wizard, I try to select all of members of a particular dimension and I get the following error. Any help would be much appreciated.

Query wizard

In query wizard in "Select fields and sort order window" there are two colomns Group(Y/N) and Comp. for comp there are further options. when it is used? and how to use it?
I am going through the implementation exercises . In Unit: Custom Configuration and Development
Topic: Queries
in question 1-3 it is suggested to use these fields group and comp.
can please anyone tell me why it is used and when it should be used?

1.Group By is nothing but Grouping the fields results.
Ex:

If use GroupBy for place,you will get the result as:
Los Angeles      $1800

Dynamic Aggregation Using BI Query Wizard

Hi,
Is it poosible to perform dynamic aggregation using Oralce Query Wizard. In other words , is it possible to change/filter the dimension members of a particular dimension and recalculate the aggregation with out changing the fact/dimension table contents.

Hi,
Not sure exactly what you are tying to achieve. However, if your data is stored in Analytic Workspace objects then you can recalculate data via OLAP DML programs or models dynamically from within a BI Beans application. The AW environment is always attached in read-only mode as a default. Hence, you can change the data during a session and then dump the changes when the user exits the application.
From within a relational environment it is very difficult to create the same approach since it is possible a commit could be issued. Unless you mark the required tablespaces as read-only. In which case you could execute PL/SQL procedures to recalculate data. However, not sure how you would resolve the refresh of any related MVs

How to execute created function in query wizard or query generator

Hi to all
i create a function in sql and i want to use this in a query wizard or query generator, I tried to include this function in my query to create a report . but i im receiving a error saying 'invalid build function',
running the query with the created function in sql server produce the expected result..
I would like to know if is possible to used this created function in the query wizard or function?

How to delete help button in the wizard and dialogs.

I am trying to delete the Help button in the wizard and dialogs provided by bibeans and having problems. Can someone give me an advise regarding the following three issues please? Thank you.

1)Deleting the Help Button from the Print Dialog.
I'm using "oracle.dss.dataView.gui.PrintDialog" for the Print Dialog and this class has method to delete the Help button(setHelpEnabled(Boolean)).
But, the Help button is always displayed even when I set false for this method like below.
PrintDialog.setHelpEnabled(false);
2) Deleting the Help button from Open Dialog and BI Explorer.
I am using "PersistenceObjectChooser" class for Open Dialog and "Explorer" class for BI Explorer. But, these classes does not have a method to delete the Help button like the PringDialog class has. How can I delete the Help button for these dialogs?
3) Deleting the Help button from Calculation Builder.
I am using "CalcBuilderStepStorage" class to build a calculation and trying to delete the Help button like this.
((DefultBuilderDialog)calcBuilderStepStorage.getContainer()).getWizard().setHelpAvailable(false);
But, again the Help button will be displayed

I can't get my iphone 5s to transfer pictures to my computer, windows xp, i keep getting a no pictures found result on everything I have tried. Windows Live Photo Gallery, Scanner and Camera Wizard, and just by opening up my Computer. Advice anyone?

I can't open up anything for my iPhone 5s but my wife's regular iPhone 5 works fine. Nothing shows up when I open up My Computer and double click the Apple iPhone icon. My iPhone keeps asking if I trust this computer. I keep clicking trust. I have no updates pending on my iPhone. I have tried the Scanner and Camera Wizard and also Windows Live Photo Gallery. Can anyone help me with this issue? Is this happening to anyone else? Thanks in advance.

Do you have the latest version of iTunes on the computer? v11.1.4. If you are having issues with Camera and Scanner wizard, it is possible the USB driver for the phone is not fully loaded. You might try resetting the phone and then trying again with the photos.
Also, Microsoft has announced that on April 8, 2014 it will cease all support for XP, I would seriously be looking for a new device soon. This lack of support will cause a myriad of issues in the near future with newer products.
If the reset does not work, you can look at removing and resinstalling iTunes and then plugging the phone back in. This should download the latest drivers. See this support document and follow the instructions exactly for removing and reinstalling iTunes. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925

Weird result of oracle query before and after function base index creation

Here is the unique situation we are facing after creating just an index.
The query result before the index and the query result after the index do not match.
This is very illogical situation. Shidhar and me have done lot of R&D, also tried to get lots info from Google but we couldn't decipher the reason for that.

I just wanted to make a comment. The predicates in both your queries are flawed I believe. You convert a date column to a character and then you say only pick the converted result between two sets of characters.
TO_CHAR(TRAN_DATE,'YYYYMM') BETWEEN'200601'AND'200912'It should be coded like this for a proper date range comparison:
TRAN_DATE BETWEEN TO_DATE('200601','YYYYMM') AND TO_DATE('200912','YYYYMM')That will eliminate the need for you to create FBI that you created. You should now be able to create a regular (B*Tree) index on the TRAN_DATE column.
Also, now that we have the structure of your tables and sample data, what business question are you trying to answer? I think there is a better query that can be written if we know the requirements.

BEx Variable defined in BI 7.0 Query Designer and using in BW 3.5 Analyzer

I have defined a variable in BI 7.0 Query designer for a characteristic which is present in characteristic restrictions area to restrict it . Ideally when that query is executed a pop up box should be opened to enter a value of the variable. But when that query is opened in BW 3.5 BEx Analyzer, instead of pop up box the error message " Error specify a value for the Variable ' Variable Name ' " has been displayed. Please help me to resolve this problem

Hi,
Once a query opened and changed in the BI7.0 query designer u can not use the same query in lower version.
Thats the reason the error message coming.
If u need the 3.5 query just keep as it is , and copy the same query in different name and open it in the BI7.0 and do the changes.

Issues with Bex query structures and Crystal Reports/Webi

Hi experts,
I'm having an issue with Bex Query structures and nulls. I've built a Crystal Report against a Bex query that uses a Bex Query structure. The structure looks like the following
Budget $
Budget %
Actual $
Actual %
Budget YTD
etc
if I drag the structure into the Crystal Report detail section with a key figure it displays like this
Budget $     <null>
Budget %     <null>
Actual $     300
Actual %     85
Budget YTD     250
the null values are displayed (and this is what is required). However if I filter using a Record selection or group on a profit centre then the nulls along with the associated structure component are not displayed.
Actual $     300
Actual %     85
Budget YTD     250
Webi is also behaving similarly. Can anyone explain why the above is happening and suggest a solution either on the Bex side of things or on the Crystal Reports side of things? I'm confused as to why nulls are displayed in the first example and not the second.

Hi,
Crystal Reports and Web Intelligence will only show data which is in the cube. You could have an actual 0 or Null entry whithout grouping but by changing the selection / grouping in the report the data does not include such entry anymore.

Problem with ASP "Create form wizard" or "Update form wizard" and "Upload file"

Until now it used version 3,7 and dinamyc had never had problems with "Create form wizard" or "Update form wizard" and "Upload file" but now when I create the form and shipment a file leaves an error to me:

Adding objects into query Panel and no display report

Hi Folks,
I had an issue with WEBI .
Iam running the report with few objects at first time , all objects are displayed in the table format of report.
I saved and closed the report .
Later i opened the report and edited the report by adding new objects into query panel and runing it.
but this time i did not find the new objects in display table in report as like DeskI.
If we find the solution for this , it will be great help to me.

The objects will be in the data tab. Objects are not automatically added to your report in Webi, they are made available in the data panel, and you can choose which objects to add.
