Question about create the index in shp2sdo...

hi, i'm new in oracle and gis
when i use shp2sdo, to convert the shapefile to oracle spatial.. i have problem in create the index...
i have a error when i execute the statement like this :
SQL> select mdsys.sdo_tune.estimate_tiling_level('peta','geom',10000,'avg_gid_extent') from dual;
why ??
the error is table or vies does not exist...
why ?? what i must to do ???

SQL> select mdsys.sdo_tune.estimate_tiling_level('peta','geom',10000,'avg_gid_extent') from dual; For a start, put the table and column name in upper case - Oracle stores object names in capitals in the data dictionary, regardless of the case that was used to create them.

  • A question about creating packages as local objects in ABAP

    Hi,
    I have a question about creating packages with SE80. Whenever I create a new package it is assigned a new transport request. After that, I can create new programs inside this package, and each time I can choose whether to assign the new program to a transport request or just save it as a local object (I often do this for test programs that I don't transport and I remove them once my tests have been done).
    What I would like to ask is that, is it possible to create a package (and not just programs inside a given package) as a local object? so that every new object created in this package will be considered as a local object?
    Thanks in advane,
    Kind Regards,
    Dariyoosh

    Please also check the F1 help for the package field e.g. in SE80, SAP standard is in range A-S and U-X, namespaces start with "/", so you should be save. I am using the T namespace for temporary stuff since a long time and did not have a problem so far.

    Thank you very much for this remark, I checked F1 help for the package field and in fact as you mentioned these ranges are for local objects.
    Once again, thank you very much for your help.

  • Please help me create the indexes for this XML

    Hi Mark and others,
    What is the way to create the correct index for this kind of XML (I posted earlier)? I created the indexes without using those prefixes without any problems but they do not seem to be used during processing. For 300 statutes, it took about 10 minutes! For the smplier verion, I created indexes and it took no more than 30 seconds to process more than 4000 statutes.

    Hi Mark, here is the schema. I did not register the schema, because when I processed the simpler version, I did not either and I just created the indexes. I did not create an VARRAY in the table. The DDL is simply create table CStatute_XML(id number, xmldoc xmltype).

  • Creating the index at end of book

    I am  looking at how to finish my first cook book and realize one of the last touches is to create an index of the  terms mentioned in the book. I'm not done yet, so the pages are shifting around a lot as I finish up, so I see there is no point in doing this yet.
    I am searching in the forums and the only threads I found in relation to this are pretty dated. The only solution that seems to be discussed is indexbrutal / now Indexmatic on the indiscripts website. I am reading some of the docs, looks a bit complicated to setup. It also doesn't mention compatibility with the current version I am working with (CC). It says "CS5+"...
    From what I see, first you have to create your own list of words you want to index, thats fine, I will do that when its time. However, for me the bulk of the work is to assemble the references to each page its on. Is there any built in or more current methods for creating the index at the back of the book?

    That would work, but yeah you would think there would be a way to address this more efficiently.
    It would be nice to see a bit more sophistication in the panel. It seems to help you index all occurrences of the word but only if you do so when you first enter the word. What if you add more content?
    I ran into this concept as well when defining sections. If you edit the pages, the section remains on the page you defined it. I would like to anchor it to the heading on the page it relates to, in case that heading moves, the section would move as well. It seems there as well, its not worth doing this until you are dont with the content of the book. Seems kind of clunky to me.. what about revisions & "2nd editions"... looks to me like you would be best to delete the sections, TOC and index and start over.

  • Creating the index takes forever

    Hi,
    I'm trying to index ~1100 PDF documents, who size varies between 20KB and 4MB, those PDF are stored in two directories on our Web server, so I use a URL_DATASTORE to get them. I have a column that contains the correct URL to the PDF, the column is a VARCHAR2(2000). 55% of documents are in French, the 45% remaining are English documents. I created this set of preferences :
    begin
    ctx_ddl.create_preference('AAPDF_DATA_PREF','URL_DATASTORE');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('AAPDF_DATA_PREF','NO_PROXY','acaiq.com');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('AAPDF_DATA_PREF','Timeout','60');
    end;
    begin
    ctx_ddl.create_preference('LEXIQUE_ANGLAIS','BASIC_LEXER');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('LEXIQUE_ANGLAIS','index_themes','no');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('LEXIQUE_ANGLAIS','index_text','yes');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('LEXIQUE_ANGLAIS','theme_language','english');
    end;
    begin
    ctx_ddl.create_preference('LEXIQUE_FRANCAIS','BASIC_LEXER');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('LEXIQUE_FRANCAIS','index_themes','no');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('LEXIQUE_FRANCAIS','index_text','yes');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('LEXIQUE_FRANCAIS','theme_language','french');
    end;
    begin
    ctx_ddl.create_preference('LEXIQUE_GLOBAL','MULTI_LEXER');
    ctx_ddl.add_sub_lexer('LEXIQUE_GLOBAL','DEFAULT','LEXIQUE_ANGLAIS');
    ctx_ddl.add_sub_lexer('LEXIQUE_GLOBAL','french','LEXIQUE_FRANCAIS','fre');
    end;
    begin
    ctx_ddl.create_preference('PREF_FUZZY', 'BASIC_WORDLIST');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('PREF_FUZZY','FUZZY_MATCH','FRENCH');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('PREF_FUZZY','FUZZY_SCORE','30');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('PREF_FUZZY','FUZZY_NUMRESULTS','200');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('PREF_FUZZY','SUBSTRING_INDEX','TRUE');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('PREF_FUZZY','STEMMER','FRENCH');
    end;
    And I created the index with this DML :
    CREATE INDEX ACAIQ.aapdf_index ON AA_PDF(AAPDF_CONTENU) INDEXTYPE IS ctxsys.context PARALLEL 1 PARAMETERS ('datastore AAPDF_DATA_PREF lexer LEXIQUE_GLOBAL language column AAPDF_LANGUE_ISO wordlist PREF_FUZZY memory 10M');
    The problem is that it takes forever to create the index. I started the create process yesterday after lunch, and it still running :-/ I looked at my Web server logs and I do see my Oracle server fetching the PDF, but it fetch ~12 PDF per hour.
    I'm doing this on our test server, it's a P4 1.4 Ghz with RedHat Linux 8 and Oracle 9i 9.2.02. It's not a fast server, but still I don't think it's normal to take 24 hours to index about 1 GB of data.

    I recreated the index with a 50M memory parameter instead of 10M. It don't speed up the process, in 40 minutes it only indexed 17 documents.
    vmstat stats when indexing the PDF documents :
    # vmstat -n 15

  • What is the difference between the drop and create the index and rebuild index ?

    Hi All,
    what is the difference between drop and create index & rebuild index ? i think both are same...Please clarify if both are same or any difference...
    Thanks in Advance,

    Both are same. Rebuilding an index drops and re-creates the index.

  • Please help me to create the index

    hi gurus,
    i have one table with one raw datatype column. It will stores encrypted data.
    I created a view which shows decryted data of the above table. I need create an index on decrypted data for avoiding full table scan. Please help me to create the index.
    thanks in advance..

    Perhaps you could create a function-based index, although if you're going to make it so easy to read the decrypted version I'm not sure why you want to encrypt it in the first place.

  • Questions about creating plugin_stage directory and creating the plugin

    I am new with EM and am working on creating an EM plugin to monitor our web application by using JMX. I already have a very simple mbean server running and have generated very simple metadata and default_collection files. The next step should be to convert those files to an Oracle Plug-in Archive (OPAR), but before creating the OPAR, I seem need to create the plug-in stage directory which have various sub-directories and files. I searched the whole Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control Extensibility Programer's Reference 12c Release 2 (12.1.0.2) and Programer's Guide as well as online, I couldn't find how the plugin_stage is created. I hope there must be a way to create that directory, or manually creating it will be tedious. Any pointer will be highly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance!
    -JC

    There are two issues here. One is the structure of the staging area, and the other is how to do incremental development of a plug-in efficiently. Regarding the first, the directory structure is pretty straightforward and once established for a particular plug-in doesn't need to be changed unless you are adding support for some new subsystem (e.g. adding jobs). There is no tool to create the directory structure.
    The question of doing incremental development is mitigated by allowing you to use the "emctl register metadata" command once the initial version of the plug-in is deployed. This allows you to modify metadata and reload that particular file without having to build and deploy a new version of the plug-in.
    Bottom line is that there is no plug-in developer IDE so you'll have to work with the pieces that are there. We appreciate your feedback so please keep it coming as we look at improving the plug-in developer experience in future releases.

  • Questions about creating a foreign key on a large table

    Hello @ll,
    during a database update I lost a foreign key between two tables. The tables are called werteart and werteartarchiv_pt. Because of its size, werteartarchiv_pt is a partitioned table. The missing foreign key was a constraint on table werteartarchiv_pt referencing werteart.
    Some statistics about the sizes of the mentioned tables:
    werteart 22 MB
    werteartarchiv_pt 223 GB
    werteartarchiv_pt (Index) 243 GB
    I tried to create the foreign key again, but it failed with the following error (Excuses for the german error message):
    sqlplus ORA-00604: Fehler auf rekursiver SQL-Ebene 1
    sqlplus ORA-01652: Temp-Segment kann nicht um 128 in Tablespace TEMPS00 erweitert
    The statement I used:
    alter table werteartarchiv_pt
    add constraint werteartarchiv_pt_fk1
    foreign key (schiene, werteartadresse, merkmale)
    references werteart (schiene, werteartadresse, merkmale)
    on delete cascade
    initially deferred deferrable;
    So the problem seems to be, that Oracle needs a lot of temporary tablespace to generate the foreign key and I do not know how much and why.
    My questions now are, and hopefully someone is here, who can answer all or a part of it:
    1) Why does Oracle need temporary tablespace to create the foreign key? The foreign key uses the same columns like the primary key.
    2a) Is it possible to tweak the statement without using the temporary tablespace?
    2b) If it is not possible to avoid the usage of the temporary tablespace, is there a formula how to calculate the needed temporary tablespace?
    3) Is it possible to modify data in the tables while the foreign key is created or is the whole table locked during the process?
    Any help or hint is appreciated.
    Regards,
    Bjoern

The foreign key uses the same columns like the primary key.Because it's validating the data to ensure the foreign key won't be violated. If you had specified ENABLE NOVALIDATE when creating it then the existing data in the table wouldn't need to be checked and the statement should complete instantly (future data added would be checked by the constraint).

  • Question about creating and updating new columns in a table

    Hi, I have a couple of questions that would love some answers to
    Please bear in min that questions relate to datawarehouse / Just large tables with say about 50 million records
    1) How do you create new columns in a big table
    2) how do you update the new columns
    3) would you create an index on a column in a table with 200m rows when the only two possible values are stored in the column (e.g.Y, N) - give your resason
    my aswers to these would be
    1) simple alter table ...
    2) simple update statements
    3) No need to create an index
    I might be wrong on these in the context of datawarehouse
    cheers
    css_jay99

    If the number of Y vs. N is about 50/50, you only have to parse through 50% of the
    overall amount of columns.Fnord. If the ratio of Y to N was 1:20 then the index would be useful for searching for values of Y only. Or if the column is nullable and the bulk of the entries were null then it might be useful. But a 50/50 split? FTS is much more effective.
    So, it does depend on the data distribution, but in most cases such an index would never be used (or should never be used).
    Cheers, APC

  • Question about histograms and indexes

    I read that if a histogram is generated for a column and that column has an index then if the where clause contains a value that has a high cardinality the CBO will skip using the index. The article was with reference to the benefits of histograms.
    My question is: Why would the CBO skip using the index? Why not use it anyways? Is it because there is a cost associated with loading and using the index itself?
    Would appreciate some clarification on this, thanks!!!

    First, the article in question doesn't say to create histograms on columns with high cardinality values. A primary key column is going to be the ultimate in high cardinality columns (each value is unique after all) but it's rarely appropriate to create a histogram on that column. It does say that that histograms are generally useful when the data in a particular column is highly skewed-- that is, different values occur at wildly different rates.
    If you have a table of orders with an ORDER_STATUS column, for example, 95% of your orders may be CLOSED, 3% may be SHIPPING, and 1.9% may be IN PROCESS and 0.1% may be CANCELLED. Without a histogram, Oracle would take a look at that column and see that there were 4 distinct values, so it would assume an equal distribution across the statuses. Which would cause it to favor a full scan on the table even if you were looking just for the CANCELLED orders. With a histogram, the optimizer would favor an index on ORDER_STATUS for the cancelled query while still favoring a table scan if you're looking for closed orders.
    Gathering unnecessary histograms will make statistics collection take longer, which can cause issues with SLAs. It can also force you to gather statistics more frequently/ cause statistics to get out of date more quickly if you have monotonically increasing values in a column. If you have a CREATE_DATE column, for example, and gather a histogram, values that are greater than the max value at the time the histogram was gathered might be incorrectly estimated to be too infrequent, which can cause problems. If Oracle thinks that 1/6th of the rows are from Jan, 1/6 from Feb, etc. through June and you start looking for values from July because you haven't gathered statistics in a month, the CBO's estimates are going to be off. Unnecessary histograms also cause Oracle to spend more time parsing queries, potentially with no better results. And it can make troubleshooting a bit more difficult because, depending on the version and various optimizer settings, there may be multiple query plans for the same statement or different query plans depending on the particular bind variable that is first passed in.

  • Question about modifying the Packet-based link into ASK modulation

    Hello everybody,
        Recently I learned the Packet-based link and I  modified it into ask scheme. But after I test the modified code, I find that it doesn't work as I image.

    I have a couple of questions that may seem silly, but...
    USB A = Windows DaRT 7.0 x86 for Windows 8 ISO burned
    USB B = Windows DaRT 7.0 x64 for Windows 8 ISO burned
    Is this a typo? You have it correctly above that where you list all 4 DaRT images, but not in the section I quoted.
    This TechNet article lists compatibility of DaRT versions:
    DaRT 8.1 supports Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2.
    DaRT 8.0 supports Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012.
    DaRT 7.0 supports Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
    DaRT 6.5 supports Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
    DaRT 6.0 supports Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008.
    DaRT 5.0 supports Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003.
    Also, did you use a Windows 8 ISOs with both DaRT versions? You need Windows 7 disks to create the DaRT 7 recovery disk.
    Let us know,
    Thanks

  • Question about adding an index to a column and finding it back

    Hi, How do I see in phpMyAdmin that an index is added to a column.(I'm talking about adding an index by clicking on the lightning bolt!) I know how to add an index and see a warning that it's added (only after I add it).
    But where do I find it or a sign that it is added later on?!

  • Question about how the Robocopy /B switch works...

    I've been experimenting with robocopy recently, and most switches seem self explanatory for the most part; although I have a question about the /B switch.
    The help says the following:
    /B :: copy files in Backup mode.
    I've checked multiple forums and websites to try and elaborate on this a little more, and from my understanding this switch enables backup mode that essentially gives the ability to change the acls of a file/folder when the account running robocopy does
    not have sufficient privileges, to perform a successful copy.
    My question is, when the acls are changed when using this "backup mode" switch, with the /copyall switch, will the file still retain the same user access that it originally had - or does it change all of the security settings?
    I'm hoping it will somehow change the security settings, create a copy, and retain the same acls as the original - so users can still access necessary files.
    Can someone please explain how this "backup mode" works?
    Thanks in advance.

    This is a very useful thread with a lot of hostility in it.
    I have to agree with Jonathan and hazymat: there are few other forums that will discuss the exact function of /b switch, the TechNet article just says "copies in Backup Mode" (I have the article bookmarked), and when doing a google search, THIS page comes
    up as the top result! Kinda difficult to tell people they should go search, when you are the exact destination of that search, isn't it? ;)
    No offense to anybody working hard to help out here, but this is why sites like Stack Exchange will overshadow every traditional tech forum very soon. More concise question/answer format, more civil, and they actually encourage old questions developing new
    answers! All q&a is cataloged for future reference. Their focus is on being a 'resource'.
    The negativity here is unfortunate, you guys have great potential to be a very helpful resource for people. Who are you trying to be, the guys with all the answers, or the guys who say "get out of here, your answer isn't in here. Go search for it."?
    Regardless, many thanks to jrv! for helping me with my robocopy batch SCRIPT which I just used to create an automated backup! Take care boys. And yes, I just bumped your old-old thread.
    Unfortunately I think you miss the point.  RoboCopy is an application.  It is not a script.  This is a scripting forum.  Many people come here nd never read the forum guidelines and do not ask script related questions.
    The /b switch is documented in RoboCopy help.  Of course it assumes the reader is a trained Windows tech and knows what backup mode is.  It is used by nearly all backup software when backing up a live system..
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • A question about creating READ ONLY users.

    Dear all,
    I have a question about read only user accounts and I would appreciate if you could kindly give me a hand. I have a schema named SCHEMA1. Whenever I want to connect by using sqlplus I run the following:
    sqlplus user1/[email protected] SCHEMA1.WORLD is the entry in the tnsnames.ora referring to the schema SCHEMA1.
    I need to create a read only user who is able to SELECT all tables and views created by user1 on SCHEMA1 (this user will not modifiy anything at all. The user is used only for a person using SQL queries to read data). for several tables I write the grants explicitly, for example:
    CREATE USER user2 IDENTIFIED BY user2;
    GRANT CREATE SESSION to user2;
    GRANT SELECT ON S001_COR_ECLASS TO user2;
    GRANT SELECT ON REF_ECLASS511 TO user2;Is there anyway to do the same thing but for all the tables (because there are a lot of tables and views)? Besides, even with these granted permissions when the user connects with SQL Developer to the database, he is not able to view the list of tables/views in SQL Developer GUI. What causes this problem?
    Thanks in advance,
    Dariyoosh

    Hello Dariyoosh,
    he is not able to view the list of tables/views in SQL Developer GUIyou can either go to "Other Users" - user1 - tables. There you see every table you have permission to select.
    Or you can create a synonym in schema2 for each table in schema1 and set a filter on the tables node of user2 "Include synonyms".
    Regards
    Marcus
