Question about creating Custom JSF form tag and renderer

Is it possible to build a custom form tag in JSF and have it replace the standard jsf form tag. Are there any potential issues with child forms or anything else.
I created the following
- custom form component class that extends javax.faces.component.UIForm (the only changes I made was to change the value of the COMPONENT_TYPE attribute and change the value for renderer type)
- custom form renderer class that extends HtmlBasicRenderer and I made changes to the encodebegin method and encrypt the value of the id and action url)
- custom form tag class that extends UIComponentELTag ( I did not make any changes here)
- tld for my custom form tag
- created an entry in faces-config.xml of my web-app for my custom form tag
Are there any issues with the above.
Is there something I should do in addition.

In theory you should be fine. Some of the open source libraries either swap out the renderer for the standard h:form component or supply their own form components. You could look at their code for reference if need be.

  • Question about creating objects in Forms 6i

    Hi,
I'm trying to create by code dynamic items in a form, but I don't find the way to do it, or any tutorial in the internet.
Taking a look at the Forms Help it says 'Once you create a data or control block, you can create items in that block at any time. Create items via the Object Navigator by inserting them under the desired block, or via the Layout Editor by drawing them on the desired canvas.'
Is there a way to create items and assign them to datablocks by code? something like CREATE_ITEM?
All I want is a button that inserts textboxes in a canvas, as many items as you want.
    Thank you in advance

    Hello,
There is no Create_item() built-in to create item at runtime.
You can create hiden item at design time then show them at runtime.
Or you can use some java code to create component at runtime.

  • Question about creating interactive PDF form

Someone provided me a PDF brochure file that was converted from an image file and was asking if we could setup the form where it could be published online and some of the fields could be filled out on the form and submitted as a registration online (name, phone, etc).  I currently have Adobe Flash CS4, Adobe Indesign CS4, Adobe Acrobat 9 and was wondering what the best way was to go about setting this process up.  I have setup some basic forms using Flash and php to submit form data via email but I was hoping to embed these form fields directly in a PDF file so they could be filled in online... would look nicer and more professional.
    Thanks!

Sure it's possible. One way to help insure that the original blank form does not get overwritten it to make it read-only in the file system. To do this in WIndows, open an Explorer window, find the file, right-click on it, select Properties, and select read only. You cna do the same type of thing on a Mac in FInder > Get Info
When you save the filled-in form, just save it with a new file name. If you accidentally forget and atttempt to overwrite the original, it won't be allowed and you'll be notified.

  • How to create custom infotype for training and event management

hai freinds can any one tell me how to create custom infotype for training and event managment with following fields
    PS No – PA0000-> PERNR
    Name   - PA0001 -> ENAME
IS PS.No. – PA0001-> PS no. of Immediate Superior
    IS name PA0001 -> ENAME
    thanx in advance
    afzal

    Hi,
Your question is not clear for me. Since it is a TEM infotype, it could be a PD infotype.
If you wish to create a PD infotype, use transaction PPCI to create the infotype.
But before that you need to create a structure HRInnnn (where nnnn is the infotype number) with all the fields relevant for the infotype.
If you wish to create a PA infotype, use transaction PM01 to create the infotype.
But before that you may be required to create a strcuture PSnnnn  (where nnnn is the infotype number) with all the fields relevant for the infotype.

  • A question about creating packages as local objects in ABAP

    Hi,
I have a question about creating packages with SE80. Whenever I create a new package it is assigned a new transport request. After that, I can create new programs inside this package, and each time I can choose whether to assign the new program to a transport request or just save it as a local object (I often do this for test programs that I don't transport and I remove them once my tests have been done).
What I would like to ask is that, is it possible to create a package (and not just programs inside a given package) as a local object? so that every new object created in this package will be considered as a local object?
    Thanks in advane,

Please also check the F1 help for the package field e.g. in SE80, SAP standard is in range A-S and U-X, namespaces start with "/", so you should be save. I am using the T namespace for temporary stuff since a long time and did not have a problem so far.

Thank you very much for this remark, I checked F1 help for the package field and in fact as you mentioned these ranges are for local objects.
Once again, thank you very much for your help.

  • Question about the custom panel language

I have a question about the custom panel language...
The document you provide seems to lack details on some features. Namely the icon and picture widgets. I see from looking at the examples and other vendor's web pages that these features exist, but I don't find any detailed descriptions of them in the documentation. Is there a more complete document describing these and other features...
    http://www.adobe.com/products/xmp/custompanel.html
Alternatively, can someone fill me in on the syntax and options for at least the icon and picture widget. For instance, how do you load external icons or pictures...
    Tom

    Gunar,
It could be interesting to have something like
    icon(url: 'http://www.adobe.com/Images/logo.gif', width: 20, height: 20);
    or better
    picture(url: 'http://www.adobe.com/Images/logo.gif', width: 20, height: 20);
    for the pictures and
    include(url: 'http://www.adobe.com/xml/custompanel/camera1.txt');
for include the cusmtom panel's dynamic portions

If you have a rescue email address set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address set up then go to Express Lane  and select 'iTunes' from the list of 'products' in the middle of the screen.
Then select 'iTunes Store', and on the next screen select 'Account Management'
Next choose 'iTunes Store Account Questions' or 'iTunes Store account security' (it appears to vary by country) and fill in that you'd like your security questions/answers reset.
You should get an email reply within about 24 hours (and check your Spam folder as well as your Inbox)

    my sap code is 235
where as customer will give purchaase order on code 536.when i am entering this 536 code  in my system, automatically sytem should propse my sap code of 235.subsequently my inventory should reduce.

    Hi,
the transaction for maintaining the customer material inforecord is VD51.Data on a material defined for one specific customer is stored in the customer material information records.
    Features:
During order entry, items can be entered by specifying the material number used by the customer. You also enter a customer material number in the order view of the sales order. You can then use both material numbers during the order entry, the material number your company uses or the one defined by the customer, because the system can carry out allocation automatically.
If you maintain the plant in the customer material info record, the system will give priority for the plant maintained in the CMIR in the order.

But the truth is that Oracle Forms application tie down all the components in fixed pixels. The typical Swing form can be resized and can function at different screen resolutions. So, when designing a Java form, we don't tend to work on a fixed grid but define the sizes and positions relative to other components. What's more the interface between the form elements and the data is completely flexible, and flexibility means extra effort.

Most I've tried have been a bit of a straitjacket, but I've recently been using the latest Netbeans offering and it's pretty good. I think the breakthrough was the introduction of the GroupLayout layout manager. This is a layout manager really designed for WYSIWYG form designers (pretty challenging to use hand coded).
The way these things work is that the class generated contains some methods which cannot be edited by hand, but you can add any amount of your own code without interfering with the generated code. You hook your own code snippets into the generated code, for example you can select a property of an object, say the model of a JTree, and select "user code", then type in an expression returning the TreeModel you want to use.
With listeners the designer will generate the method signature etc. but you can edit the body of the listener method.
However I would always recommend that you hand code a form or two before resorting to on of these editors because it's important you understand the code, even where a designer writes it.

  • Create Custom list form and validate fields using sharepoint designer 2010

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to create a custom job application form which will be filled and submitted by anonymous users. I have a an option to create custom user control web part but I wanted to
create it using custom list form using SharePoint designer. My requirement is below
Date of birth (user age should be above 22yrs )
    Email Validation
    Phone validation
Resume attachment (should attach only word documents or PDF)
Qualification (If other is selected then show textbox else hide)
Can above validations be done using SharePoint designer (JavaScript or validation controls)? Or do I have to create custom control web part?
    MercuryMan

    Hello,
I think jquery/javascript can be used to put validations on those fields. Fortunately some of validation can be done via sharepoint itself like: email, phone, age. For Attachment and Qualification fields use jquery/JS.
See below link for column validations:

  • Question about Creating Forms in Acrobat 9 Pro

I designed an invoice form to send to my clients that allows me to easily fill out form data and automatically email to my client. Everything works great, but when I send it, the form is still active and I want the fields to be closed for alteration. How can I make this happen?
    many thanks!

What I would do is flatten the form, which converts the form fields to regular page contents so that they are no longer interactive. There are a number of ways to do this, including JavaScript, PDF Optimizer (Discard Objects > Flatten form fields), and Preflight (Flatten all form fields fixup).
Edit: I did not see the previous responses when I posted this, due toforum wierdness, so sorry for the duplication.

  • Questions about using a PDF form online

I have a client who wants to create an online version of a PDF form that they are currently using. I am currently trying to explain to them that this would be best done as an HTML web form, but I may not win this argument. I have only used PDFs for printed forms (either hand-written or using form fields) so I am not familiar with any problems that converting the form for use online would entail.
When the 'Submit' button is pressed on the form, is there a way to redirect to another web page after the data is submitted? (i.e. does the PDF have access to it's outer 'environment'?)
Are there any security issues submitting data using the PDF form as opposed to using a standard web form? (There may be sensitive data being submitted)
I'm not sure how they plan to handle the data that is submitted, but there are several options in the submitForm parameters - I am assuming that using the HTML option would submit the data in the same format as a web form would. Am I correct here?
Can the PDF be prevented from being downloaded or printed? This form should only be used to submit data to their server, not as a printed form.
Are there any other 'gotchas' that I need to look out for? Does anyone have a recommendation for a site which contains any tutorials or guidelines for using PDF forms online?

    Thanks for the information.
Yes, I agree that there is less reason for it to be a PDF form (Actually, no real reason other than the original form already exists in PDF), but I am unfortunately in the position that my input in this project is not necessarily being considered (my company is following direct -and inconsistent- directions from the client, and I have no contact with the client to ask questions about what their actual needs are). I have been told to give the client the 'Tomato' that they are asking for, even though they are describing an 'Apple'.
The reason this form is not meant to be printed is that we have replaced the 'Signature' fields from the original form with checkboxes that the user must check to confirm they have 'signed' the document. If they are to print/fax/whatever the document, they should use the original form, not this one. And I am still trying to explain to them that this would be better served with an HTML web form, but I fear I am losing that battle.
I have brought up the fact that it is not 100% guaranteed that Acrobat will be available in the browser, although I can only guess that it is less than likely that anyone will not have some sort of PDF viewer available to their browser.
I will also mention that issues may arise if the file is not submitted from within the browser.

  • The Question about stock transfer between HU-Management and WM-Management

    Hi,
There is a scenario about stock transfer between HU-Management and WM-Management storage location. I use transaction MB1B , movement type 313 , 315. After Good issue from WM-management storage location, outbound delivery will genarated, then Pack, Create/Confirm TO, at last post goods issue for the outboud delivery. But when i do movement type 315, there is a warning message "Data of preceding document was not transmitted", and from the F1 help i find this system reponse "You can maintain an indicator that makes information about preceding documents in this delivery available under delivery type in Customizing. For some characteristics of this indicator, the type of preceding document and the related document and item numbers must be transmitted to delivery creation. At least one of these parameters is missing.".
    So, My questions are:
    1. Generallily, Outbound delivery is created by SO, inbound delivery is created referenc PO, but how the stock transfer for 2 steps generate the outbould delivery and inbound delivery? Could you pls tell me the where i can config this in the IMG?
    2. What's "Data of preceding document was not transmitted" mean ? how to fix this issue ?

  • Custom JSF Component tags ignored after converting to Facelets layout

I am currently using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.
I have a project consisting of .jspx pages. These pages mainly use components from ADF faces core. I also created my own custom JSF component that I use in several of these pages.
Then, I needed to use Facelets so that I could apply a standard layout to all my .jspx pages. I looked at all the tutorials, and I created a layout.xhtml for my .jspx pages to use. This worked great for my .jspx pages that don't have my custom JSF component.
Now, when I run my page with my custom component <img:newimage ...etc >
the tag is ignored and it appears in the page's source as is when it should render as <img.src=...etc>. Attributes of newimage are changed on the page appropriately like width and height, but my component's tag, component, and servlet java files are never accessed.
How can I fix this? Please help!
    Thanks.

    Hi,
did you post this issue to the Facelets open source site ? Sounds like an issue with using Facelets

  • Questions about the future directions of InfoPath and Microsoft Access

Because I have been confused about the future directions of InfoPath and Access, I wrote a short blog post, which I have pasted below.  My question is, can Microsoft provide some more guidance on Access vs InfoPath?  If Access is indeed the
the future direction, can you please provide some pointers to resources that can help us transition.
A Short Review of MS Access,  SharePoint ,InfoPath (2013)
After the November 2012 SharePoint Conference in Las Vegas (#spc12) there were a number of blog posts and people saying that Access 2013 was great and would be replacing InfoPath.
    Marc Anderson and
    Ruven
Gotz have short posts summarizing #SPC12 and touch on the subject of InfoPath and Access.  I also spoke with several individuals shortly after #SPC12 and they were excited about Access 2013.
Since I rely heavily on InfoPath for much of what I do, I wanted to kick the tires and see what everyone was talking about.  First, a few notes about SharePoint 2013 and Office 2013.
Microsoft should rename Access:  If you have tried to
bing the word Access, then you know that the search results are overwhelming,  because the word "access" is used for so many other purposes.
Use the RTM version of Office 2013! I was performing  my investigations by leveraging the Office 365 Beta and the Office Applications that come with it.  Not much was working!  After I uninstalled the Beta
version of Office 2013 and Installed the RTM version everything seemed to work.
Windows 7 and IE 9.0: The drag & drop that is being touted as
"manna from heaven" seems to work well with Firefox, Safari, Chrome, and IE 10, but it does
    not work with IE 9!
Non Microsoft browsers are still second class citizens (except for the drag & drop):  Microsoft has finally done away with the Active X's for datasheet view (that is brilliant!)  One can now see the newly
minted datasheet view in many browsers.  But I still find that one needs to be in IE to do a number of key manual opeartions.  For example pasting numerous rows of data from a spreadsheet into the new sheet view works only in IE.
    Access 2013
Microsoft Access is touted as a non developer tool.  I know a number of people who are on the business side and love Access.  These people will like the renewed energy that Microsoft has applied to Access.   One should note that conceptually
this functionality existed  in SharePoint 2010.  Here is what I see that is new:
+The new version works better:Although I haven't tested it fully, it seems that many more features that work on the Desktop version of Access, now work in the published Web Application which is hosted by SharePoint 2013.
+The new version has fairly robust browser based forms: End users can now fill in data using forms that are rendered in the browser.
+The published version that resides in SharePoint now uses its own SQL server tables.  So the engine appears to be SQL Server, not a modified version of Access built for a server.  This stands to be quite robust, but I imagine
that some quirks will surface due to new model.
    The limitations are:
    - Access is pretty much its own application and does not integrate with SharePoint building blocks.  For example, an Access table is not easy to integrate with a SharePoint workflow.  Further, although  Access forms now are visible
in a browser, they are not nearly as rich as InfoPath forms.  InfoPath forms cannot easily integrate with the Access tables.  In order to integrate SharePoint features and Access, one needs to tie SharePoint list(s) to Access as data sources.
This overcomplicates the model and one may very well run into synchronization issues.
In short, although I believe there will be some people who will be happy with newly minted Access, I do not think that Access will be able to replace InfoPath and Workflow technologies.  I do agree that Microsoft does not seem to have put much energy into
InfoPath.  If they leave a vacuum in this space, then others may very well take over, for instance Nintex Forms.

Although I agree with the comments made by Ruven and Marc after the conference please note that those blog posts are their own personal opinions and that they don't work for Microsoft.  A lot of people have asked Microsoft to clarify the future of InfoPath
and the response up until now has been a deafening silence.  In my opinion speculations about Access replacing InfoPath are premature.
I should also point out that most of your comments about Access 2013 above are actually about Access Services in SharePoint Server 2013.  Access Services are NOT Access they are a shared service offering in SharePoint that convert and publish Access
databases and forms.  As you point out once an Access database is published through Access services it is converted to SQL Server and no longer resides in Access.  Of course I don't work for Microsoft either so these are all just my personal opinion.
Having said that I doubt you will get the confirmation/response that you are hoping for from any official Microsoft channel.
