Question about Netflix auto renewal

I received an email from Itunes yesterday saying that there was a problem with the funds to renew Netflix.  And to go to my account to update payment.  I did that and added a itunes card.  I now have the money on the account.  (Really the subscription is due to renew today - not sure why Itunes did it yesterday)  anywho...  How can I get it to renew now?  And to take payment.  I dont see it on itunes anywhere.  Just to turn on and off the subscription... which i dont want to do.  I just want it to renew it.  Does Itunes retry after they sent the email?  Or will the subscription end?

If funds are now on the account, it should renew on it own.

  • Question about Trend Micro renewal...

My Trend Micro was just renewed this past weekend.  It was all confirmed, etc. through Best Buy.  When I go to my security status in Vista,  it shows Firewall is on (green),  Automatic Updating is on (green), but then is shows the Malware Protection in yellow, and this is what is says.
    "Malware Protection" (yellow)           Check settings
    Virus protection
Trend Micro Internet Security is on but is reporting its status to Windows Security Center in a format that is no longer supported. Use the program's automatic updating feature, or contact the program manufacturer for an updated version.
I update every time I start the computer, and do a quick scan.  Even with the automatic scans and updates.  How do I remedy this?   Thanks for any info!

Thank you for your response.  I've already done just what you said, and was referred to the Geek Squad.  He walked me through the long process of uninstalling and reinstalling the Trend Micro service. He was very polite and helpful.  I'm still curious about what happened, when this "automatic renewal" was done.  After reinstalling Trend Micro thru Geek Squad,  it seemed to be a newer version of Trend Micro.  The "automatic renewal" one was the same as before.  This newest one had some different features, etc., and it was compatible with the  malware security problem that I posted about.   I am wondering why this newer version wasn't installed thru the automatic renewal?

  • Question about port-auto-adjust

    Good morning Tangosol,
In the operational config file does the cluster-config/unicast-listener/port-auto-adjust parameter apply soley to cluster-config/unicast-listener/port? Or does it also apply to the port numbers of any well-known-addresses that are defined as well? In other words, if port-auto-adjust is 'true' and you have well-known-addresses defined, will their respective port numbers auto-adjust as well?
    Thanks.
    Pete L.

    Pete,
The "port-auto-adjust" setting applies exclusively to the value of the "cluster-config/unicast-listener/port" element. When the port-auto-adjust is set to true, the cluster service will attempt to increment the local port number until it can successfully create (bind to) a UDP socket with that port. This significantly simplifies configuring multiple cluster nodes running on the same machine.

  • Question on PIM Auto-RP and Mapping Agents

    Hi Experts,
I have a few basic questions about PIM Auto-RP mechanism.
Please correct my understanding about these below :
    Question 1 -
A router, when configured with the command 'ip pim send-rp-announce loopback0 scope 16' announces itself as RP on the multicast address 224.0.1.39. And, the Mapping Agent listens to these messages on 224.0.1.39 and sorts them as (RP,Groups) and re-announces them on 224.0.1.40.
    Question 2 -
We know that RP is basically a mechanism for the sparse PIM mode wherein the routers get access to the multicast tree by reaching the RP router. If that is the case, then how do the routers actually get to know about the Auto-RP multicast group 224.0.1.39/40, in order for it to reach the actual RP for the actual multicast group it needs to join ?
Does it mean that the groups 224.0.1.40 and 224.0.1.39 always works in Dense mode fashion that it reaches all routers and is not pruned (as all routers need to disseminate the Auto-RP discovery information .. ?
    Question 3 -
I am thinking of trying a multicast configuration on the routers using static-groups and join-group commands.. Would you know of some real nice useful links that have sample multicast lab examples ?
I know there will be a lot of great replies :-)
    Cheers
    Arav

A1) Yes thats correct announcement on .39 and discovery on .40
A2) For auto-RP to work sparse-dense mode has to be configured. Announcement and discovery happens in dense fashion and when S,G mapping are available it goes the sparse way. There are workarounds to make it work with sparse only, but its better to skip that when deploying in a live environment.
A3) You may not find anything on a link for Multicast Lab as such, but you can try to setup 5 to 8 routers to have a meaningful experimentation with multicast where you can designate 1 end always as source and 1 end as receiver and then play with the core using sparse, dense and sparse-dense, using single RP, multiple RP's.

  • Question about non-renewable subs

Hi, we've just had our app submission rejected for a couple of reasons as our publication is bi-annual. So newsstand appears not to allow biannual publication under the Apple guidelines, not much we can do about that. However, even if we remove it from newsstand, if we want subscriptions we need to change them to the non-renewable type. So my question is, does DPS support non-renewable subscriptions? It's appears not to from the docs I've found.

DPS does not support non-renewable subscription type.
Choose auto-renewable in-app for subscriptions and Non-consumable in-app for the folios/issues you want to sell.

  • How can i turn off an auto renewing subscription to Netflix ?

How can i turn off an auto renewing subscription to Netflix ?

Interesting turn of phrase.   Are you suggesting that Netflix has none standard terms and conditions that could activate penalties if the user casually unsubscribes.
I am not familiar with their terms - I've never had a subscription with Netflix. Personally, I will always check the terms of any business I do business with and know how to cancel before committing to a contract.
Edit: I just took the time to browse through their terms which appear rather straight up:
    https://signup.netflix.com/TermsOfUse
From the OP's post, I also did not assume that their subscription was through an iTunes app as a direct subscription was/is available. I do not know if the terms might differ if going through iTunes (which would make sense if Netflix would be losing money by offering their service through iTunes?).

  • Please cancel my auto-renewal

Basically, it was a good deal when I couldn't afford Photoshop and Lightroom, but now paying $600/year (and rising I assume) for the rest of my life to Adobe doesn't sound very viable either. I love Adobe products but unfortunately I'll have to jump ship and I want to cancel my auto-renewal once my subscription expires January 1, 2014.
Only problem is that there's no option to cancel the auto-renewal and the service reps arn't allowed to cancel the renewal for you! It's quite shocking there's no option to cancel my auto-renewal. It's clear what the intentions are.
My service rep told me I can cancel only AFTER the subscription renews, and I hope you can see why that's worrysome. I don't want to call up January 2, 2014 and ask you guys to cancel my auto-renewal, only to be told that my year-long subscribtion already started and that I was stuck in another year, and if I wanted to cancel I'd have to pay those monthly fees.
More disconcertingly, my service rep told me incorrect information. Here's how the conversation went:
Him: You can cancel anytime January or February.
Me: Really? But if i cancel Feb I'll already be two months into another yearlong subscription!
Him: That's okay, Adobe offers a free 30 day trial.
Me: Okay... but even so February would be after that period.
    Him: Okay hold please.
So you can cancel the day the new subscription starts.
    Me: Okay...
I hope you can see how suspicious all this sounds. Please cancel my auto-renew. I don't trust to canceling my subscription AFTER my new one starts (like i was told to) and expect to not get fined.
Please don't post a link to some adobe support page telling me about auto-renew. I already read people's responses to that on other threads.
    Thanks.
[By the way, I have an open case number if you would like to check up on my conversation with a service rep]

    Hi jeeheon_cho
The following doc explain how you can cancel your membership after payment for month 12 has been deducted in December if you do not wish to renew for another year:  http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cancel-membership-subscription.html
You can cancel an annual membership 30 days before or after your annual renewal date without any penalty.
I will look into your case and address this with the agent.
Please let me know if you have further questions.

  • Management needs to address this question about Creative Cloud subscriptions

Hopefully there is a satisfactory solution for this question.  Then and only then will I feel comfortable giving Creative Cloud a try.  I own Production Premium CS5.5 and Design Premium CS6. In addition I have stand alones of Photoshop CS5.1, Premiere Pro CS6, Acrobat Pro 9, Lightroom 4 (2 copies) and probably another package I'm not thinking about right now.  If I convert to Creative Cloud and two years from now when CS7 or possible CS8 is the current version and I decide end my subscription to Creative Cloud reverting back to the disk version ownership, I will be required to pay additional money because I didn't keep my disk ownership current.  I used to upgrade my Production Premium Suite every other version.  I owned CS4 in that suite and when CS5.5 was released, I was required to pay an additional $250 (if memory is correct) because I hadn't upgraded to Version CS5.  I think that subscribing to Creative Cloud should not open me up to my license being devalued because I chose the subscription (at essentially the same price for what I use) over buying the disk.  Adobe, will you comment on this situation and add it to management discussions to assure faithful customers we won't have our current licenses put into jeopardy?

    akrafter wrote:
I like the idea of Creative Cloud but subscribing to it for a mandatory 1-year is binding.
Thare are two joining options: monthly (higher monthly fee) or 12 month contract, billed monthly(lower monthly fee)

And after the one year, do you go on a month-to-month or do you have to sign on for another year?  I'm sure that's in the fine print someplace but I haven't noticed it.
    Auto-renewed unless you cancel.
    http://www.adobe.com/au/products/creativecloud/faq.html
At the end of my annual membership, what do I need to do to renew it?
If you would like to renew your annual membership for another year, you do not need to do anything. Your account is set to auto-renew so that you will not experience any interruption in access to your Creative Cloud products and services.
How do I cancel my one-year membership?
To cancel a one-year membership, you can either go online to the Account page on www.creativecloud.com or contact Adobe Customer Service. If you cancel your membership before meeting the 12-month commitment date, you will be charged 50% of the remaining amount left on your contract.
    akrafter wrote:
I hope a lot more people ask the question and do as I'm doing, not buy into Creative Cloud until a satisfactory solution is arrived at.  I like the looks of the CC package and I think it has value but not at the loss of value for my Creative Suite.
Not sure you'll get a definitive answer to that before CS7 arrives.
And you'll need a CS6 perpetual license in order to upgrade to CS7.
So I suspect a CS6 purchasing/upgrading decision (Cloud or traditional upgrade) will have to be made based on the info currently available.

  • Some questions about a Time Capsule

    Hi!!
I just have a few questions about a Time Capsule, but first let me explain the backgroud to my questions.
I live in a 2 floor house(including a basement) and my bedroom is downstairs. My parents currently have a desktop PC connected to our wireless router and our printer. Me and my step-father both have 13 inch MacBook Pros, and he uses the Mac like a basic computer, so the equipment connected to our PC is good for him. I, on the other hand, use my Mac, iPad and iPhone to their fullest potential. I am a SUPER MEGA NERD when it comes to computers, so I plan on making my bedroom an amazing office at the same time. So I want an AirPrint Enabled printer in my bedroom (Under 100$$) along with a Time Capsule to back up my information, because everyday I look around in the backdoor of my Mac alot, and if I jack anything up (And I cant handle the problem) I would like to restore my Mac to a previous version. So here are my questions:
    1) My bedroom is right underneath our router, so i get GREAT Wi-Fi in my room. If I get a Time Capsule, can I use it in my room to extend my Wi-Fi, and how would that work? Will it extend my wifi under the same name, because I would like my own Wi-Fi (Titled to what I want with my own password)
    2) If I have to create a NEW Wi-Fi network, how would I do that?
    3) Would I need to connect my new printer directly to my ROUTER, or could I connect it to the TIME CAPSULE?
If you don't understand what I'm trying to ask (Even though I feel like it's self-explanatory)
ONE question about the PRINTER: Do any of you have any recommendations for an AirPrint Enabled printer under 100$? Even under-150$ would be okay.
    THANKS FOR ANY HELP!!!!

everyday I look around in the backdoor of my Mac alot, and if I jack anything up (And I cant handle the problem) I would like to restore my Mac to a previous version. So here are my questions:
Don't just depend on TM.. use a disk image type utility.. either one of the Mac tools, SuperDuper, CCC, Chronosync or even a linux boot cd (if you have a cd/dvd drive still or via usb can boot) a great tool is Clonezilla.. it will do basically any computer, Mac, Linux, Windows.. and since it boots into its own OS can restore a computer in a flash. Then you can add the incremental changes from TM.
Actually I am surprised you get good wireless as usually directly above or below a router is often the worst spot. Time Capsule cannot extend the wireless of any other router than Apple.. it is a special system and only Apple can join the club. It has bad effect though, if you set the TC to extend wireless it turns off ethernet ports.. which is hugely dumb.
The best arrangement is ethernet to the upstairs.. or EOP adapters. If not then a wireless router that matches the existing unit will generally be better than mixing apple and non-apple.
    2) If I have to create a NEW Wi-Fi network, how would I do that?
    3) Would I need to connect my new printer directly to my ROUTER, or could I connect it to the TIME CAPSULE?
You create a new wireless network by selecting manually the wireless channel and use different wireless name, ssid and security. There are 3 available channels on 2.4ghz.. your existing router will use one or two.. depending on if the setting is 20mhz or 40mhz.. so you need to manually set everything and not use auto.
TC is slow on 2.4ghz cf 5ghz and there are many more channels at 5ghz but not everything can use it.. iphone for instance is 2.4ghz only . whereas ipad can use 5ghz.. most full computers now can use 5ghz.
Buy a wireless network printer. Or alternatively an ethernet network would be also ok but now are more expensive than wireless ones. Network printers are not much more than straight USB and work much better.
I do not use airprint so have nothing to offer.. find the best HP model in your budget.. but others may have had more experience.. I use ethernet connected b/w laser business type HP.. they work great.. but airprint is too recent an innovation for me.

  • Can I sign up for a month of data with Verizon without auto renewal and how long can I go without using my sim card before it is deactivated?

When I checked out Verizon's data plans online, the only option I saw that did not involve automatic renewals was the option to pay $5 for a day of 300 MB. The other options (e.g., $20/month for 1GB) all appeared to involve automatic renewals every month unless I go in and cancel the plan. However, during a chat, a Verizon representative told me that auto renewal of the prepaid plans is an option that can be avoided, it just isn't listed in the online information. Has anyone found a way to only sign up for one month of data without having to cancel the next payment?
Also, when I looked online at a site that compared data plans, it stated that one needed to use the Verizon network every 4 months or else the sim card would be permanently deactivated. But in a couple of online discussions, the limit was listed as being 3 months. Verizon told me 6 months. Does anyone know which is currently correct?
Finally, I have heard that if the sim card does become deactivated, Verizon tends to insist on making one buy a new one with a regular data plan and not the prepaid options.Has anyone had any experience with this?

GeekBoy.from.Illinois thank you for replying. I tried the Verizon support forum, but before I can ask a question there I need to register, and the first step in registering is entering my mobile phone number. Since I don't have a Verizon phone, I can't register and, therefore, can't ask any questions. I did look through previous questions and answers, but it only confirmed that Verizon employees do not give out consistently correct information. I guess I will try talking or chatting with two of three more of them and hope that whatever the majority answers are will be the correct ones.

  • HT4098 How do I turn off auto-renew for the Guardian?

Trying to turn off auto-renew for The Guardian.  From PC.
    I did the following:
    1. Launch iTunes on your computer
    2. Choose Store>Sign In from the iTunes menu.
    3. Enter your Apple ID and password when prompted.
    4. Choose Store>View My Account. You may be asked to re-enter your Apple ID password.  Click
View Account.  (I chose "iTunes Store", in the side bar, since the word "Store" in the menu bar didn't list "My Account". Then I chose "Account" in Quick Links, on the right-hand side of the screen. I got the "Account Information" ok.)
    5. From the Account Information screen, scroll to the bottomof the page to the Settings section.
Then it said to:  6. Click "Manage" to the right of "Subscriptions".
The word "Subscriptions" does not appear in the Settings section.  Nothing in the Settings section takes me to a page on which to manage my subscriptions.

    Hi
Read this Subscribe to iTunes Match - Apple Support

  • Question about Kurts comments discussing the seperation of AIA & CDP - Test Lab Guide: Deploying an AD CS Two-Tier PKI Hierarchy - Kurt L Hudson MSFT

Question about the sentence in bold. What is the meaning behind this comment?
How would you separate the role of the AIA and CDP from a CA subordinate server? I can see where I add a CES and CEP server which has those as well, but I don't completely understand his comment. Because in this second step, (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/tlg-key-based-renewal.aspx)
he shows how to implement CES and CEP.
This is from the guide located at: http://technet.microsoft.com/library/hh831348.aspx
Step 3: Configure APP1 to distribute certificates and CRLs
In the extensions of the root CA, it was stated that the CRL from the root CA would be available via http://www.contoso.com/pki. Currently, there is not a PKI virtual directory on APP1, so one must be created.
In a production environment, you would typically separate the issuing CA role from the role of hosting the AIA and CDP.
However, this lab combines both in order to reduce the number of resources needed to complete the lab.
    Thanks,
    James

My concern is, they have a 2-3k base of xp systems, over this year they are migrating them to Windows 7. During this time they will also be upgrading hardware for the existing windows 7 machines. The turnover of certificates are going to be high, which
from what I've read here, it worries me.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/askds/archive/2009/06/24/implementing-an-ocsp-responder-part-i-introducing-ocsp.aspx
The application then can go to those locations to download the CRL. There are, however, some potential issues with this scenario. CRLs over time can get rather large
depending on the number of certificates issued and revoked. If CRLs grow to a large size, and many clients have to download CRLs, this can have a negative impact on network performance. More importantly, by
default Windows clients will timeout after 15 seconds while trying to download a CRL. Additionally,
CRLs have information about every currently valid certificate that has been revoked, which is an excessive amount of data given the fact that an application may only need the revocation status for a few certificates. So,
aside from downloading the CRL, the application or the OS has to parse the CRL and find a match for the serial number of the certificate that has been revoked.
With the above limitations, which mostly revolve around scalability, it is clear that there are some drawbacks to using CRLs. Hence, the introduction of Online Certificate
Status Protocol (OCSP). OCSP reduces the overhead associated with CRLs. There are server/client components to OCSP: The OCSP responder, which is the server component, and the OCSP Client. The OCSP Responder accepts status
requests from OCSP Clients. When the OCSP Responder receives the request from the client it then needs to determine the status of the certificate using the serial number presented by the client. First the OCSP Responder determines if it has any cached responses
for the same request. If it does, it can then send that response to the client. If there is no cached response, the OCSP Responder then checks to see if it has the CRL issued by the CA cached locally on the OCSP. If it does, it can check the revocation status
locally, and send a response to the client stating whether the certificate is valid or revoked. The response is signed by the OCSP Signing Certificate that is selected during installation. If the OCSP does not have the CRL cached locally, the OCSP Responder
can retrieve the CRL from the CDP locations listed in the certificate. The OCSP Responder then can parse the CRL to determine the revocation status, and send the appropriate response to the client.
