Question: how to open a database diagram stored in subversion

I am new to Jdeveloper and am exploring Jdeveloper 11g TP4 interaction with subversion.
I created a project and then created a database diagram and added it to subversion.
On another computer that does not have the same project defined, I would like to access and open the database diagram. I can select the diagram in Subversion Navigator. The database diagram editor does not launch when I choose open from the context menu. Should it?
I am not grokking something and would appreciate any tips.

atlr,
You cannot open the diagram directly from Subversion like that. You need to check out a copy in order to open it.
Hope this helps,
John

  • How to open a database object for view/edit using a command (v. 3.2.20.09)

    How can I open a database object for view or edit using a command in Oracle SQL Deveveloper?
    I find browsing or search for object in a large database to be slow and too cumbersome.

    Shift-F4 (pop-up descrribe) on a table name in the worksheet will let you view table details, but there is no quick edit.
    You can use filters on the object browser to reduce the number of visible objects.

    Please "Preview" your future posts. Your formatting is awful. Especially learn to use the [ code ] tags.
    Are you sure DateTime.Now.ToString() returns a string in the format of 'MM/DD/YYYY HH:MI:SS.FF3'?
    Fix that and if you still having the problems, debug the actual result of your string.Format() and post that.

  • In LabVIEW 3.0.1, how to open a VI *diagram* (opens panel only without any buttons or menus)?

    I need to edit the diagram of an old LabVIEW 3.0.1 VI, which is running on a old Windows 3.11 computer (yes indeed!).
    When clicking on the VI, or when opening it from the file-menu, the frontpanel opens without title- and menu-bars, and without any button-bars. And there is no "right-clicking" in Windows 3.11. The VI does not open in Run-mode, it just does not show any clickable buttons (so I can't even start or stop it this way; normally it is called from another VI). Thus I can't do "view diagram", and thus I can't reach the diagram.
    Do you know of any shortcuts, key combinations or other workarounds to get to the diagram? None of the tricks which work on Windows 95 and higher seem to work here. And I am not familiar with this old LabVIEW version.

    If it is not running, I think <ctrl> w is the old LV shortcut to get to the diagram.  I would open a new VI , and insert it in the diagram.  but hmmm, it has been ages... so not sure if <ctrl> double click will jump you straight to the diagram of the subvi...

  • Question:How to use MySQL database as a service in Oracle Cloud

    Hello All,
    I want to use MySQL as backend for my application.How can i select MySQL database.Its showing me only to choose Oracle database.
    Thanks in advance.

    The Oracle Database Cloud Service uses the Oracle Database.  You do not have access to the underlying operating system to make the choice you are seeking.
    When the Oracle Compute Service comes out later this year, you could use one of those "infrastructure only" environments and load MySQL into it.  You would be responsible for all maintenance of MySQL and the environment.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi
    i lost my datafile with out backup how to open the database or how to backup database

    Hi,
    To prevent accidental lost of datafile make sure you backup your database by having suitable backup strategy.
    To open the database you can follow the step described by chinar sir. For backup follow one strategy as a good practise.Check my below link for backup strategy:

  • How to open and navigate between human task forms in a same page?

    Hi
    I use Oracle BPM 11.1.1.5
    I have a question about taskflows in BPM Application.
    In ADF web application, I create a sipmle task flow and insert view id and bind these to jspx pages, my pages are opend in same page when
    return an outcome.
    For exapmle I have three pages like A,B,C.
    In task flow, insert three view ids and bind to A,B,C.
    My first pages is A, and when outcome is B navigate to B, when my outcome is C then navigate to C in a same page not separate pages.
    But my problem is here.. in BPM Application when create task forms, every task has a separate task flow that there exist a single view id and a wild card flow in it.
    In BPM workspace when initiate human task form is closed, I should press refresh button to see next human task form in task list table.
    I tried to create a simple task flow and insert human task forms in it and navigate between these.. but show human task form in wrong display and don`t show some component and human task payload.
    Now, my question : How to open and navigate between human task forms in a same page like software installation?

    Having a separate Data Control for each human task is normally the case. There is a way to assign multiple human tasks to a single data control (and one task flow), but I don't think that this is going to help you with what I think you're trying to do.
    If your human task is called "EmployeeDetail", then you'd use the data control associated with this for the UI pages in the task flow diagram that is associated with this human task. For example, you might have a first page that has just the basic employee information - the fields (at least the ID field) would come from the EmployeeDetail data control. When the end user clicks "Next", you might have this UI page flow to a second UI page in the task flow diagram that has the employee's address information. You might place the address fields from the EmployeeDetail data control onto this second UI page.
    You might be asking how the work item instance can automatically flow to the next interactive activity in the process while staying inside the first interactive activity's human task's task flow diagram. This is not how it works - the task flow diagram models the end user interaction while inside a single human task that is tied to a specific interactive activity in the process. If you want a the end user to be able to move the instance through multiple interactive activities in the process in one interaction, look at "Activity Guides". Activity Guides do a nice job of this.

    You really need to get caught up on some basics. I encourage you to pick up the O'Reilly book titled 'Oracle Essentials' (see http://oracle.oreilly.com) to get up to speed. And then plan on spending some time either in the 2-day DBA or Oracle Concepts documentation.
    To give you a bit of a start -
    An Oracle database is a bunch of files. The database is controlled by an Oracle Instance. The instance is started (attached to the database) and stopped. In Windows the instance is a [Control Panel] service.
    A listener can be started [and stopped] to monitor the network for requests. It is also a service. If it is not started, the instance will not respond to any network requests but WILL respond to SQLPlus requests by the same userid that installed the database and software.
    You use the internal userid called SYS to do basic things like start and stop the instance. The SYS userid should never be used for anything else (there are exceptions to every rule, but...). Most newbies ignore this advice until they blow up their first database.
    You can use DBA userid such as SYSTEM to manage the database to do things like add/manage users, add/manage schemas and add/manage tablespaces. A DBA userid should only be used for managing the database, not for owning tables and not for application work. Most newbies ignore this advice until they cripple up their first database.
    User:
    A userid should be created for each user - and each schema (see next section). You create it using sqlplus commands, usually run by the SYSTEM user
    CREATE USER username IDENTIFIED BY password ACCOUNT UNLOCK
    DEFAULT TABLESPACE USERS TEMPORARY TABLESPACE TEMP;
    and give it privileges such as accessing the database and storing data by
    ALTER USER username QUOTA UNLIMITED ON USERS;
    GRANT CONNECT TO username;
    Schema:
    A schema is a special user that also has resource capability and ability to create and manage objects such as tables. There are many kinds of objects and ideally you should give permission to create/manage only those objects that are needed, such as
    GRANT CREATE TABLE TO username; -- this makes is a schema.
    Cheating - you can grant the resource role to the user which provides all the GRANTS for most objects.
    GRANT RESOURCE TO username;
    I call it cheating, because few actually look at the role and fewer realize how much capability is given by the resource role. It's pretty darned close to opening up security holes. Oh well ...
    People who have had time with other RDBMSs such as SQL Server may view an Oracle Schema as roughly the same as a SQL Server (or other) Database.
    Tablespace:
    A tablespace is like a disk to Oracle - you can store things such as [many] tables and indexes in a tablespace. A tablespace is made of [one or more] operating system files. A number of files can be used in a tablespace to get around things like the 2GB limit that many operating systems have for typical files.
    There are a bunch of tablespaces:
    SYSTEM is for keeping the internal data dictionary and you should avoid using it for anything as filling it up will cause the database to stop.
    SYSAUX is for Oracle's options and features and you should avoid using it as filling it up causes major pain. SYSAUX was introduced in 10g.
    TEMP is used for sorting and other internal stuff. Do not let it autoextend otherwise it will grow forever. If you limit the size the area will be reused even though it appears to be busy.
    UNDO/ROLLBACK is used for internal stuff such as recovering the original data if you cancel a transaction. Keep away from it other than to make it bigger. It's you friend - feed it properly and you can recover from data mistakes you made a few days ago.
    Regular tablespaces are what's left - that's where your tables and indexes go (remember the DEFAULT TABLESPACE clause in create user???)
    CREATING TABLES ...
    Simplest form: as a new userid,
    CREATE TABLE name_of_table (
    column_name datatype_and_size,
    another_column datatype_and_size ...
    example:
    CREATE TABLE test ( test1 date, test2 number, test3 varchar2(25));
    then use it
    INSERT INTO test VALUES (
    to_date('Feb 13, 1987 09:14:56', 'Mon DD, YYYY HH:MI:SS'),
    42,
    'A test string');
    SELECT test3 from test;
    Oracle provides a few demo userids such as OE, HR, SH, IX & PM. Go to the documentation for your version of the database at http://docs.oracle.com and pull up the document titled 'Sample Schemas'. They are to help you learn about Oracle complete with data, and are usually loaded by default into new databases. A number of the examples and tutorials at Oracle By Exmaple (from http://otn.oracle.com >> Training menu >> Oracle By Example) use these schemas.

  • How to open RAC node2 usng spfile which will stay in ASM disk?

    Hi,
    I have installed oracle 11g r2 rac with asm in two nodes. OS is hp-Unix.
    I have installed oracle11g Active Data Guard using Single alone Database.
    Both RAc and Active Data Guard works fine.
    I have not configure Data Guard Broker.
    N.B Rac node1 is running using spfile which is in ASM disk (+DATA/spfiledcpdb.ora) but node2 is running using pfile.
    Question: how to open node 2 using spfile which will stay in ASM disk like node 1?
    Thanks

    Modify your PFILE to specify only IFILE='location_of_spfile'
    OR
    use STARTUP PFILE='location_of_spfile'
    Ensure that the spfile does have the 2nd instance specific parameters defined correctly.

  • How to create a database in SAP DB

    hello sirs,
    My name is Sudheesh and I am new to SAP WAS. I recently installed SAPNetWeaver04SneakPreviewSlimSP11. I have installed the Max DB also from the CD. But i don't know how to open the database Manager GUI for the same. I want to create a new database and want to create some table on it.
    I tried to use dbmcli utility from the command prompt. -but it shows some error message as given below, "24941,ERR_NEEDLOGON: DBM Server logon required"
    Is SQL Studio available with SAPNetWeaver04SneakPreviewSlimSP11. If yes how can i access it?
    Kindly help,
    Sudheesh K S

    Dear sir,
    Thankyou very much for your support. It works fine. But i have some other doubts also. I shall be highly obliged if you share your knowledge regarding them also.
    1. I have my current database database in MySQL 4. I would like to know whether any options are available to migrate the DB from MySQL to Max DB.
    2. While mapping the persistant fields in the EJB to the fields in the database table; how can i retrieve the database table?(while defining the dictionary in Netweaver)?
    3. How can i create a data source for my database?
    The entire scenario is needed just because i am migrating a J2ee application from JBoss to SAP WAS. I am planning to create the DB first and then configure for each Entity beans.
    Is this the right way?
    Your help and suggestions are solicited.
    Thank you,

  • Switching to MAC from Windows: How to open files in Office 2007  VMFusion?

    Dear all,
    Intro:
    I switched to MAC and now cannot find the solution to a simple problem.
    First: I need an Office 2007 PowerPoint FULLY compatible solution.
    What did not work: IWork, NeoOffice, Office 2008 (this is not fully compatible with Office 2007 Files)
    I also had problems with: Parallels (not stable, too many hangups), codeweaver crossover (office files do not even open sometimes, good idea but not suitable for serious office jobs)
    Now I have VMWare Fusion with WinXP and Office 2007 as this seems to be the only truly stable and best solution to run Office 2007 on Mac
    Question:
    How to open files in Office 2007 on MAC VMWare Fusion easily?
    It would be nice to spotlight the file and click and it opens in powerpoint or excel or word 2007 in Virtual Machine.
    The only known solution to me is to use the Windows explorer to navigate to the file and then open it from Fusion WinXP. This is very cumbersome and honestly makes me think of getting back to a windows machine as I work with office frequently.
    Thank you for your help.

    Thank you for the quick reply.
    Yes, I have Office 2007 installed. The problem is that to open files in Fusion virtual machine I have to use the windows explorer and navigate to the file to open it. Now that I have the mac I want to use the good feature of spotlight. So when I search and find the file I want to open I cannot click on it on the mac (or in finder) but I have to switch back to the virtual machine, locate the file again and open it from windows.
    You might think - ok, why not skip the first step of using spotlight, and look up the file in windows explorer before anything else?
    Correct, but I know from parallels that there is a file association possible to directly access the file in office 2007.
    This does not seem possible in Fusion - So the question is whether there is a possibility on the mac to associate the file and to click on it in finder/spotlight and the office 2007 application in fusion opens the file. So far I could not find anything.
    Thanks
