Question on drill-in navigation

Hi,
I have a ViewStack in my main mxml. One of its child
containers (a Search 'page') has a DataGrid. When I click a record
in the DataGrid, I want to display another container (a CRUD 'page'
for the selected record). How can I use the click event to display
the CRUD page in place of the Search page? I tried addChild() on
the ViewStack, but I didn't find a way to tell the ViewStack to
select this new child (the CRUD page). It just gets added to the
LinkBar on top of the ViewStack ... What is the standard way to do
this type of drill-in navigation?

Drill-down (navigation) in BI Administrator Cockpit

Hello,
We have installed BI Admin Cockpit on all the newest SPSes. But the strange problem is that I cannot do any drill-down / navigation on displayed standard reports (running in portal). BW context menu just do not pop-up when I right-click on report's element, like characteristic. Is it how it should be? I remember BI Admin Cockpit from almost year ago, and I think it allowed drilling...
Another - less important - question is what should be the BW version of queries and webtemplates used in BI Admin Cockpit? Again, I remember year ago they were 3.5. Now it seems that queries from content are 7.0 and webtemplates are neither 3.5 (thay contain xhtml tags) not 7.0 (you cannot open them in new new WebAD).

Ideally you should be able to get it from table
Frontend & OLAP Statistics:
- RSDDSTAT_OLAP (database view)
and data Data Flow is as below-Reporting on 0TCT_MC21

You should get following statistics-
Average Query Runtimes
Predefined runtime categories
Drilldown to navigation step
Monitor query activity
(example: navigations / day)

How to suppress the drill across navigation in the nav block

Hi All,
In BW 3.5 in the web template I have a generic navigation block each characteristic in the nav block as a Drill down and a drill across navigation icon. In my web template I do not want the drill across for all characteristics I want only drill down.
So what I did was include the following code in the nav block HTML

<param name="CLOSED" value="X"/>
But this suppressed both drlll down and dril across how can I suppress only drill across in columns and retain the drill down by rows.

Drill down (navigation) to a "hided" report

I have built a report with a navigation on a column to another report... Everything is fine and running.
Trouble is that the user see both reports in the report list (shared list). Pls.. is there a way to "hide" the detailed report from a direct call from the user... so that it is reached just by navigation from the 1st. report ?

There is no way that I know to hide it. But I would suggest create another folder and put the detail report in that folder. Ask the business user to drill down to the report that you think the user should click on or the one that has the navigation

Question on using tab navigation

Hi all --
We have a very large (500+ pages) reporting application which is currently using a list (DHTML Menu with Sublist template) as the navigation means. The problem is that there is so much out there the navigation menus have become very large and make it difficult for a user to find what they are looking for. I've been playing around with different navigation types and like the two level tabs but there is one small issue that renders it an unviable solution. Some of our menus currently go three or four levels deep, but the bottom level is always fairly small (3 or 4 reports at most). I was thinking that the top level would be the parent tabs (Sales, Purchasing, AR, Manufacturing, etc) and the standard tabs would be the second level (Branch Reports, Customer Reports, Freight, etc). Now there may be multiple "Branch Reports" and I'd like to display links to those reports in a conditional sidebar region based on the current standard tab. I've implemented the application item and computation to track the current tab (from :REQUEST) and it works well if a user gets to the page via a standard tab. Unfortunately, pages that fall under the Purchasing Parent tab link back (or drill down, if you prefer) to pages under the Sales Parent tab so the tracking of the current tab through the :REQUEST won't work.
Does anyone have any other ideas on how to track the current standard tab? It seems silly to have to re-create the same region for each page the standard tab is current for.

I'm having issues getting to my OTN workspace to check this out, but you may be able to handle this by using a Page 0 with a Tree. The Tree would be based on a table that had a page number as the ID and the parent page number as the PID. The top level in this structure would be the pages on the 2nd level of tabs. The P0_TREE_ROOT would then need to be set on a per page basis and you could probably use the CONNECT_BY_ROOT functionality to determine this for each page - &APP_PAGE_ID. would tell you the current page, so you could use that to determine the top of the page's branch and, therefore, update the P0_TREE_ROOT item so that the tree is self-maintaining.

Question about ADF Menu Navigation

i create an adf application, include ADF Menus for Page Navigation.
i found the URL displayed in the browser always show previous page when switch between different tabs.

Use redirect option to create a new browser URL for the view activity.
So try adding a <redirect/> tag in the site-menu.xml as:

Drilling and navigating - can I have both?

Is it possible to somehow get Answers to allow me to drill via dimensions and once at the lowest level, navigate to a separate report? I only see options to Drill or Navigate but I really want to do both. Can the system be tricked to do this?
I have a pie chart split by world regions. I can drill down to countries fine. But my dimension has no child level below country. I'd like to be able to click on the country pie slice and then be taken to a different report.

Create Hierarchies. It will help in drill. Use navigate as usual.

Questions regarding drill

Hi there,
In webi, how can I know the current drill level (object name)?
Say, I have a report with drill hierarchy of year/quarter/month/week/day. And I need to link this report to another one and pass the current drill level. How can I know it's on year or quarter or month or week or day? DrillFilters() won't work if users use context menu/drill by to drill from year directly to month.
The env is BOE XI 3.1 SP3.

Hi,
If you use Drillfilters(), no matter you Drill by / Drill down, you will get the drill filters. Ofcourse if you skip levels while drilling, you cannot show them.
It all depends on what parameters you want to pass to your detail report.
What are the parameters for your detail report.

ABAP query question on drill down

I want to be able to drill into a sales order listed in a sales abap query. I thought I read somewhere that you can turn on something to make this query interactive but I cannot put my fingers on that. Any help?

Hi Susan,
To use RRI in ALV mode, you'll have to follow indications in SAP note 675546 - ALV-RepRep: Report-report interface.

Two questions about drill-down of obiee

First, when i dirll down next level, can i change the measure or hide needless measure. Can be implemented by obiee? How?
Second, the navigation on web designer. I want to navigate from query_1 to query_2, how? For example,

name sex phone
I don't know that everyone understand it.

For what you are doing, I think Presentation Variables would work best giving you the most flexibility for your users.
First create a Dashboard prompt on Class and save it to a Presentation Variable called prmtClass, for example. Check the "All Choices" checkbox in the prompt so the user has that choice available.
Now build your MAIN report with the columns you desire on the highest level.
Next, build the DETAIL report with the Class, Name, Phone number, etc. columns, with the filter on the Class column set to the Presentation Variable prmtClass.
Add the Navigation on Value Interaction feature on the Class column in the MAIN report.
When the user clicks on a particular class, the navigation feature will direct the user to the DETAIl report. The PV will filter that report so only the particular class will show.

Master data update and navigational attrivute

Hi.
There is master data which is having some 10 attributes.All of them marked as a Navigational Attribute.But all the attributes are coming from R/3 and only last attribute(X) is not coming from R/3.This X is maintained in flat file.My questions are
1.After uploading all the remaing attributes from R/3 can we update the X through Flat file by creating sperate Infopackage and un mapping remaing objects.
2.Here there is no Hierachy.All the attributes are marked as a navigational attributes.So, Is there any question of drilling down on a particualar Attribute like organizational Unit,or Station or plant.
When we said all as navigational attributes we can make all the drill down and drill across operations on all of them corrrect??

- make ziobjmst 'as infoprovider', rsa1->infoprovider->insert characteristic as infoprovider
- create infosource with flexible update, e.g zisX put infoobject ziobjmst and X in transfer structure, assign with flat file datasource.
- create update rules for ziobjmst from rsa1->infoprovider, assign with infosource zisX, assign ziobjmst with ziobjmst and X with X, let other infoobjects as 'no update'.
- create infopackage and upload data.
another way as mentioned by Vikash with look up from table A (e.g infoobject is A), you can create start routine in transfer rules and put code
data : it_A like /bic/pA occurs 0 with header line.

then create routine for X in transfer rules, code

Drill Down and Drill UP on Web Analysis Report

Hi all,
I have a question regarding Drill down and Drill up on Web Analysis Report.
The situation is the following:
I've created a report with some account parent elements in row. The dimension account has a multiple hierarchy.
I need to drill down on the child of these elements keeping the parente on top and so i've selected the option "Selected Member First".
The drill down it's ok for the first drill to go on the next level but when i drill down once more to go on the next level of the selected member hierarchy the drill move this level out hierarchy.
Can someone help me on this point?
After that i've drilled just to the last level when i drill up on these elements to return on the previous level i note that in the report happens a strange thing:
The Drill Up works fine but on the report appears another elements which is the same parent with anothe code/alias of another hierarchy instead of the Selected member.
On this i've noted tha this 2 different parente have the same elements...I think that the children of the selected memeber can be shared members....Can be this the problem?

If I take only one parent member the drill up works fine but if i take all 2 memeber as above and i decide to drill up on one of the two element occur that the drill work for the two elements at the same time.

Can be a problem due to shared memebers?

Sounds like one of your navigation nodes is broken. If you are unable to access them via the user interface you could try PowerShell.

Drill through report

Hi Friends,
I am new to this blog. I have a quick question using drill through report. I have deployed BSO cube using EAS / rules files. I want to create a drill through report. I know how to create a drill through using essbase studio but not from EAS. Please advice.

It will be available to the participants of the conference. (it is already posted, but I have changes to upload). I'm not sure when ODTUG will make presetations generally availalbe. IT is not typically for a number of months. Also although the presentaion sildes have information, there is a lot of verbage to go along with it. I'm sure it will end up as an interRel webcast later in the year, but I would not know when. I'm sure none of this helps you. but it is a bigger topic than applicable to the forum
