Question on using JSplitPane to display 2 JPanels(thats has been drawn on)
im currently doing a project in which the user is able to draw on 2 panels and the last step is to display the 2 panels with all the text and images that were drawn on it.
splitPane = new JSplitPane(JSplitPane.HORIZONTAL_SPLIT, panel1, panel2);
splitPane.setOneTouchExpandable(true);
splitPane.setContinuousLayout(true);
c.add(splitPane, BorderLayout.CENTER);i want to call repaint on the 2 panels so when it goes through paintComponent my array of text/images will be redrawn on the splitpane accordingly.
any suggestions on how this can be done since its my first time display 2 jpanels on a splitpane im out of ideas.

In the Mac side of things, backups usually come in two flavors: clones or incrementals.
A bootable clone is a bit-for-bit copy of all essential files in the startup volume. If using the Lions, clones can be made using CarbonCopyCloner or just plain old Disk Utility. These backups represent the safest protection of your info, but take the longest to do. Recovery is an inverse process: you copy the clone back into the internal drive.
Incremental backups start with a complete backup of the startup volume and only copy whatever changed from the previous run. OS X includes the fully integrated Time Machine backup utility to do this. It is extremely easy to do and takes the least amount of time. Recovery is another matter altogether since you have to start with a freshly installed instance of the OS and have to apply all intervening backups to bring the result to the latest saved version.
As for where the backup takes place, the recommended media is an external dedicated drive or drives connected via the fastest interface available on your Mac: Thunderbolt, USB3, Firewire, or USB2. Network-based backups, wired or wireless, are attractive but may not offer the same performance and hence take longer. Also important to note that the entire drive need not be completely dedicated to a single backup. The Mac's EFI firmware infrastructure allows for an unlimited number of partitions on a hard drive and each can be used for either type of backups.

I just bought a used XP Home Edition software program that has been installed before. I have the Product Key and installation disc. Will I be able to install it on my own computer? Or, is this software (purchased retail) a one time install? Please advise.
Depends on many things.
If your system is Lion, XP can only be installed under VM. BootCamp in Lion only accepts Windows 7.
As to "one use only", if you are referring to OEM ...
A reinstall can trigger the OS to "not register" because "a major component serial number or MAC (the network MAC chip) address" has changed, according to MS databases.
But you can call MS to get the key reactivated, usually/sometimes. It is worth a try, at least, before spending money on another Windows 7 package. But this discussion should end *now* at "maybe" as it treads close to matters that forum Terms-of-Use would prefer we not discuss. -
How do I use an external hard drive that has been used on a windows machine on my mac....
I have recently just bought a new mac and want to edit files that are currently saved on my external hard drive that I used on my windows machine.
Is there any way to be able to do this or will I have to transfer all files across to my mac and then re-format the external?

I got a new Mac Pro and I am using my 30 inch cinema display. It has been flickering grey sometimes and then will stay grey and lock up my computer and I have to reboot... this is very annoying..help. I have reset the pram and that seems to help for a bit but then it starts up again...and please don't tell me to check for software updates:)

Safe to delete a "List Template" that has been used to create several libraries?
In SharePoint 2010, is it safe to delete a "List Template" from the Gallery that has been used to create several libraries? I have a user that has requested the template be deleted. But he has used the template to create several active
libraries that he needs to keep. I wanted to make sure there will be no impact to those libraries and associated workflow, etc...
Thanks!Libraries created from a template are not tied to the template, so the template can be removed if it is no longer required. The same holds true for Site Templates.

One more thing, if you dont want delete the List template or having some fear than you can hide it from UI. in Template just hide it.

i have just dowloaded the icloud control panel on my PC and i am am able to see everything that has been pushed to icloud from my ipad. However i cannot see my email. i can send from the computer using icloud, but i do not see any mail that is being received by my ipad, which is set up with my mail server. What haven't i checked lol?
turn your ipad off by holding the sleep wake button for 5 seconds and slide to turn off then turn it back on and the apps should be finished and if the apps didnt finish just redownload them

I have an IPod Touch that has been formatted for a Mac. All instructions I have been able to find use ITunes or Device Manager to reformat the device for Windows. This cannot be done if Windows doesn't recognize the device. Is there another way to set the device back to the factory settings directly on the device without using ITunes?
Ipod touch is not formatted one way or the other at all.
Just sync it to the new computer using itunes.

PDF files cannot be natively opened in InDesign. They can only be placed as graphics.

I cant neither pay with my Master card debit and now with a pin.From where did you buy this "PIN"? And did you get an actual card, or did they just send you a number? If you got only a number, then you may well have been defrauded. You'll need to go back to whoever sold you this "PIN" to resolve the problem. Apple to the best of my knowledge does not authorize any company to provide codes rather than a physical card and hence probably cannot help you if you did not get a physical iTunes card or receive a gift certificate issued by the iTunes Store themselves.

When you close your viewer be sure to add/have Youreportobject.close and Youreportobject.Dispose. Adding a GC.Collect may help also.

You could use LibreOffice which is a free open source Office clone. The only downside is that by default it ddoesn't save in Office formats, you have to specifically choose that option. GoogleDocs is another free Office like product.
