Question related to getmetadata in connection object

i just want to check up what r the names of the tables in a database.
when i use this sentence rs1=cn1.getmetadata.gettables(null,null,null,null);(assume that the command is syntactically correct coz it is so)
it returns me somethin.on this resultset when i try to navigate like rs1.first or rs1.last it says resultset type forward only. i can say rs1.next but then i think that i need to say rs1.next till the moment i reach the last record.and so it even doesn't allow me to use the method rs1.islast() to check whether is the last record or not and gives me the same error message"resultset type forward only.". i think that u cannot change the type of this resultset that u get from the connection object metadata method.so please guide me on wat to do.

Answer is simple: The catalog information, that is, the result sets returned by DatabaseMetaData queries, are not required to support something else than forward-only result sets. And: Looking at for example Oracle catalog tables, this is hardly surprising.
The only solution I can think of (and which allows you to navigate arbitrarily in the catalog) is to copy the contents of the result sets into a local java.util.List object.

  • Passivation of Connection Object in Stateful Session Bean

    Hi all,
    I am developing a Stateful session bean that has a Connection object as its instance variable. And this bean starts transaction that spans across multiple method calls and finally either commit or rollback.
    BeanClass
    UserTransaction utx;
    Connection conn;
    ejbCreate()
    allocateconnection();
    ejbRemove()
    closeconnection();
    ejbActivate()
    allocateconnection();
    ejbpassivate()
    closeconnection();
    StartTransaction()
    utx = getusertransaction();
    utx.begin();
    Method1()
    do something with database
    Method2()
    do something with database
    CommitTransaction()
    utx.commit();
    For example, the typical usage of this bean would be:
    bean.StartTransaction();
    bean.Method1();
    bean.Method2();
    bean.CommitTransaction();
    Here are my two questions:
    1. General Question: In order for a Connection object to join a Transaction, Do I have to create the connection after the transaction has started?
    2. If the answer to the above question is yes, then: I understand that when this bean get passivated, the UserTransaction instance object would be passivated. And since the connection object can't not be passivated, I have to recreate the connection object in ejbactivate() method, would newly created connection participate in the same Transaction that was being passivated and now activated?

    The answer to first question being NO, your argument for question 2 does not hold true. According to the EJB specification, a stateful session bean can only be passivated between the transaction and not within a transaction. Your implementation for the stateful EJB is good to work.

  • CRM/ISU: Notes (or Texts) at Connection Object Level and replication

    Hi there,
    I am trying to replicate to CRM (and back to ISU) the Text objects linked against the Connection Object in ISU.
    The idea is to have two texts area in the Connection Object in the WebIC that can be replicated back to the related ISU's ones.
    The requirement is to replicate those texts (multiline texts, textarea, notes) linked against the Connection Object from CRM to ISU.
    The connection object in CRM is a "casted" Individual Object that can be linked against Notes (or Texts), isn't it?
    So the IObjects can have a Notes Assignment Block.
    The problem is that from an WebIC point of view the Notes Assignment block obviously are not shown.
    Have someone of you done something like that before? Any idea?
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Carlo.

    WHile you are waiting for an answer, you might want to review the related Oracle documentation:
    For 10g, all docco is at http://www.oracle.com/pls/db102/portal.portal_db?selected=3 and docco I suspect will help you is "Java Developer's Guide" and "JDBC Developer's Guide and Reference"

  • Questions about Audigy 2 ZS connecti

    Hello,
    New to these forums, so bear with me. I'm considering purchasing an Audigy 2 ZS gamer card, and have some questions about the card and speaker setup. I've read the FAQ's in the forum, and they have been a big help, but I still have questions related specifically to my setup. Here's the system specs:
    AMD Athlon 64 3000+
    Asus K8V SE Deluxe
    VisionTek Radeon X800 XT PE
    Seagate 250 gig SATA HDD
    gig Crucial ram
    Antec P80 case
    Antec TruePower 430 ps
    Altec Lansing ADA885 digital speakers (awesome sound)
    Altec Lansing headset (cheap but works for voice and gaming)
    ADI AD980 onboard sound
    Windows XP Home
    . I currently am able to run both the speakers and headset at the same time by using the front panel audio outlets on the case (helps with the immersion in IL2 946). I would like to continue doing this(using front panel audio) with the new card. I've found several places that have an adapter cable for sale, http://www.x-tap.com/
    http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...oducts_id=2700
    http://ask.americas.creative.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=ww_english_add,U={B8F6030-DA4F-D3-94F4-00500463020E},Company={CEAE26D-879-4C00-AC9F-03BC258F7B70},d=3025443648,VARSET=ws:http://us.creative.com,case=5764
    The plug that I have has only 3 separators, not 4. Will this work with the Audigy 2? I don't have a link for this plug, unfortunately.
    4. I had been considering purchasing? a set of USB headphones, but I've been told that when you plug them in, the sound is cut off for the speakers. If there was a workaround for this, I might consider getting them. Then I wouldn't have to use the front panel audio or the connections on the card.
    5. I've heard of an issue with this particular set of speakers and the Audigy 2 card, particularly that the speakers were originally designed for a Dell system, and the wiring was phased differently than in other systems. Is this something to be concerned with, and if so, is there a workaround?
    I like to research a particular product before I buy it, in order to make an informed decision and avoid problems if possible. Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't
    Thanks in advance for the help.

    The inputs are easy to find and select:?
    Right-click the Mixer icon on the taskbar and select "Playback Devices".<
    There should open a new Window with the options of "Speakers" and "SPDIF"<
    With Speakers highlighted click the?"Properties" button on the lower?right corner<
    Go to the 4th tab (I believe it is "volume" in english, "Pegel" in german)<
    There you have your inputs!<
    Unmute Line-In and set its volume according to your desires.<
    Also remember that software designed for XP, that should control the Line-IN settings, (ie. Hauppauge WinTV or Dscaler) will be unable to do so in Vista, do to the architecture change. You can however enable "Compatibility Mode for Windows XP SP2" for these applications (right-click on their executable) and restore control of the inputs directly from the program. (You should however unmute it first as explained above). PS:? All Creative Software that came on the CD is incompatible to Vista. Only the included Audio Console should work as expected.Message Edited by alexs3d2 on 05-07-200707:3 PM

  • Questions relating to Groupware Integration (Outlook)

    Hello,
    I have few questions relating to groupware integration for Outlook:
    Q1) The "Relate to CRM" option in outlook add-in for end user is available only  in client side integration? Is it not available for server sider integration (i.e. in server side, end user cannot directly assign CRM account or Transaction to object in outlook the way it is done in client side)?
    Q2) Is there any end user interface (like add-on) available in server side?
    Q3)In client side - Can the outlook add-on for SAPCRM be enhanced for different business logic or look n feel?
    Thanks,
    Vicky

    Hello Vicky,
    1) Yes the Relate to SAP CRM function is part of Client-side groupware only.
    2) The Add-in is only available with Client-side groupware.
    3) The Add-in cannot be customized. However the results can be influenced by parameters in transaction GWIPROFILE.
    The information displayed in the Business information Pane can be changed.

  • How to create connection objects in the NTDS settings container of a DC with LDIFDE

    The following link shows some examples of how to automate creating subnets without having to use the sites and services console: http://codeidol.com/active-directory/active-directory/Site-Topology/Creating-a-Subnet/
    My question is how can use LDIFDE to create connection objects? We don't use the defaultipsitelink and are creating the connections manaully. How can I use LDIFDE to create connection objects like this? I have not been able to find any examples on the internet.
    Thanks for any replies.

    KCC does the job of creating connection object automatically reading site/subnet/sitelink info, so why you need to create manually.

    two questions related to this:
    1. Why Java is designed to only permit single
    inheritence, any stories behind the scene? I think
    some major reasons why "prefer interfaces toabstract
    classes" is accepted is rooted in this limitation.Yes, one of the reasons interfaces are better is that
    you can only extend one class, but implement many
    interfaces. Say you have a concrete class that should
    "implement" two different types. If those types were
    defined as abstract classes, you could only use one
    type. You could implement both types if they were
    interfaces though. So why java is designed to have this limitation? There may be some arguments before this is settled down. I always like to hear this kind of stories:)
    2. Base on the fact that once an interface is outof
    box and widely implemented, it is almostimpossible
    to change it. So how you guys design yourinterfaces?
    Could you share some? In my idea, I would designmy
    interfaces as compact as possible.You could extend the interface and start using that
    if you didn't want to break existing code. You
    couldn't use that implementation as an Interface1
    though, since the new methods only exist in
    Interface2, so that's not an optimal solution.So we may always need to add a new interface when we just want to add a new method.

  • Connection object as a key in a hashtable

    Hi,
    I am debugging some code where a Connection object is used as a key in a hashtable. Is this ok? Will the equals() and hashCode method be defined properly for a Connection object?
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks!

    I am debugging some code where a Connection object is
    used as a key in a hashtable. Is this ok? Will the
    equals() and hashCode method be defined properly for a
    Connection object?First, answer the following question for yourself: how do you defined equality of Connections?
    If a class merely inherits the equals() implementation from Object, then equality is the same as referential identity. If that is Ok for you [which is the case in surprisingly many cases], there is no harm is using Connections as hashtable keys.

  • Creating an IBase Component WITH Connection Object (ISU_CONNOBJ)

    Hello
    I want to create an IBase Component with relation to a Connection Object. I am able to create the first one (IBase Component) but I do not know how to create a Connection Object for the newly created IBase Component.
    I am doing everything using the BOL framework and was unable to find a proper relation from IBase Component or Product to Connection Object.
    Can you help me out?
    regards
    Mateusz

    Solved!
    Apparently after creating new IBase Component and new Product (assigned to the newly created IBase Component) it is required to execute transaction save and commit for the object of newly created Product. After that system sees newly created objects.
    Required code (after creation of a new Product):
    DATA:
      lo_core TYPE REF TO cl_crm_bol_core,
      lo_new_product TYPE REF TO cl_crm_bol_entity,
      lo_factory TYPE REF TO cl_crm_bol_entity_factory,
      lo_transaction TYPE REF TO if_bol_transaction_context.
      lo_core = cl_crm_bol_core=>get_instance( ).
      lo_factory = lo_core->get_entity_factory( 'Product' ).
      lo_new_product = lo_factory->create( )
      lo_transaction = lo_core->get_transaction( iv_entity = lo_new_product ).
      lo_transaction->save( iv_force_save = abap_true ).
      lo_transaction->commit( ).

  • General questions related to Java

    Good evening,I would like to ask you some questions related to Java :
    1) class A {
    public int x=1;
    public int y=5;
    public A() { y=6; }
    public A(int a) { x=a; }
    public A(int a, int b) { x=a; y=b; }
    class B extends A {
    public B() {}
    public B(int a) { super(a); }
    public B(int a, int b) { super(a,b); }
    public B(int a, int b, int c) { x=a+b+c; }
    public B(int a, int b, int c, int d) {
    super(a,b); y=c+d; }
    public class Test {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    B b4 = new B(1,1,1);
    System.out.println("b4.x: "+b4.x+" b4.y: "+b4.y);
    I cannot understand why y = 6.
    As i see it,i find it more logical that y = 5.
    Could anybody tell me why y becomes 6?
    How did we get into the constructor of A : public A() in order y to be changed?
    2) Well in an exercise i have to handle out we have to find the a,b,c of a program .Unfortunately i dunno about them,Can anybody explain to me what do they mean or attach me a link (e.g. a tutorial) in order to figure out?
    a)pre condition in Java
    b)post condition in Java
    c)invariant condition
    3)
    3) Fraction apple = new Fraction (1, 2);
    Fraction peach = new Fraction (4, 5);
    Fraction pear = apple;
    peach.halve();
    pear.halve();
    System.out.println(apple);
    System.out.println(peach);
    System.out.println(pear);
    It's the first time i see an object as a parameter in System.out.println.
    CAn anybody tell me when i can pass an object as an argument in System.out.println?
    Thanks in advance!

    How did we get into the constructor of A : public A() in order y to be changed?if you don't explicitly call a super constructor, the empty super constructor is called for you. If no empty accessible super constructor is available and no explicit call from subclass is made - compile error.
    CAn anybody tell me when i can pass an object as an argument in System.out.println?Whenever you want. Object.toString() will be called and the resulting String will be used. If the object is null, the String "null" will be used instead.

    Rakesh:
    I need a few more clarifications.
    Basically I had created DEPT/EMP master detail relation ship. Is this a Business Component project? I.e., did you go through BC4J wizards to create Entity Objects, View Object, etc.? Or are you doing this all in JDBC directly?
    What i want if any body is clicking
    on detail form(emp) , Employee Education should be display in another form. I have made throgh my own java coding(using java.sql).I take it you're not using JClient, but built your own application using Swing. Is this correct?
    Thanks.

  • Connection Object Class Overview

    Hello Experts,
    I created a class (cl02) and  the related characteristics (ct04) to be used for connection objects.  I wonder if there is a way to make the class field in the Assignments section pre-filled (or  pre-selected) when creating the connection object, so that the user won't have to select this class to enter the characteristics. I used the standard class indicator but I had no luck.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Eren,
    You can do this kind of default value assignments into screen fields by implementing user exits.
    Please have a look at exits EXIT_SAPLES55_001 to EXIT_SAPLES55_011 residing under component  XES55.

    Could anybody please specify the table name in which we can find the Connection object and Street name?
    Thanks and Regards

    Table EHAUISU you will have the connection object number.
    Then go to ILOA table give the connection object number in Functional loc. and execute it.
    You will get the address number. Then go to ADRC table to know the street name.
    You will not find the data in a single table.
    If you want to find then go to views
    V_EHAU_ADDRNR : IS-U Connection Object: Optimized Access for Address Number  "you will find address number for connection object.
    V_EHAUADR  :  You will get street name for connection object.
    Please let me know if you want any more details. if have any issues with answer then let me know the exact question for the same.
