Question to Proxy in Reading Query String

Hi, our team have a problem, and let me state below:
We use reverse proxy in machine A to redirect to machine B.
Machine A is SJWS 6.1, and it has customized SAF.
The SAF has one mission, which is to retrieve query string from each requests.
The question is:
When the SAF read the query string in body data( with netbuf_getc() ), the application in AP SRV cannot read anything about query string.
In the contract way, if we let AP SRV to process data through query string first, and then we try to get body data( with netbuf_getc() ), NSAPI gets nothing.
Any suggestion?!
thanx.

The query string is part of the request URI. It is never part of the request body.
I assume you mean that your SAF reads the request body to extract form data. If your SAF consumes the request body, that request body will not be available to other SAFs.
It sounds like you should consider writing an input filter, not a SAF, that will process the request body. There's information on input filters in the NSAPI Programmer's Guide at http://docs.sun.com/source/817-1835-10/npgcfltr.html.

  • Apache - CGI script can't read query string from STDIN

    My Perl CGI script begins as follows:
    if ($ENV{'REQUEST_METHOD'} eq "POST") {
    read(STDIN,$in,$ENV{'CONTENT_LENGTH'});
    I dumped all ENV variables at entry, and verified that REQUEST_METHOD = "POST" and CONTENT_LENGTH = 73 (which is correct). QUERY_STRING is null. After the above read statement, $in is still null. Any idea why STDIN is not providing the query string?
    Thanks!

    Hi--
    This isn't really an answer to the question you asked, but is there a reason you aren't using the Perl CGI module? It's installed by default on OS X and makes this kind of stuff much, much easier. Just add a line like this at the top of your script:
    <pre class="command">use CGI qw(:standard);</pre>Then you can get the paramaters for your script like so:
    <pre class="command">my $value = param('paramname');</pre>No muss, no fuss. You can get more information at the CPAN archive page for this module.

  • Read Query String Parameter Value in SSRS

    Hi,
    We have Project Server 2010 and Sharepoint Server 2010 env and using SSRS 2008 R2 for reporting purpose in Native mode.
    Here I am displaying the SSRS Project report in Project Server page using Report Viewer web part like below.
    Here I want to read projuid query string parameter value (Highlighthed above in URL ) in SSRS by using any way, so that I can pass that
    projuid value in my SSRS report parameter to filter and make this report dynamic.
    Right now I have to select the ProjectName (Label) which passes ProjUID
    as value from the Parameter, but I want it should read the projuid
    from URL so that this reports will display the project the data for the opened Project automatically
    Thanks and let me know in case we can achive this using OOTB or some custom functions.

    Hi,
    For the report parameter, you can get the value from database query or some embedded funcitons etc. or even some customerized function.
    You may consider to create your own code for the report to read the projuid from application or URL. The customer code can be used to get the values from the applicaiton or from the url etc. Then report can call the customer code function to get the value.

  • Read query string from End User Menu

    In our IdM application, I want to be able to read a variable passed in a query string.
    The string is part of the JSP page which takes the user back to the end user menu (user/main.jsp).
    Is there a way for the end user menu to read a value from a query string?
    Or can user/main.jsp be modified to pass the value from the query string to the end user menu?

  • Hi Chris -- follow up to my question about using TSQ to store strings of different sizes

    Thanks for your response.
    I did read about those method you mentioned. I have some troubles with each method:
    1/ Using TSQ as byte stream.
    This is what I chose to use. I basically write to the queue the way you described with an exception about the number of byte to write. I did as followed:
    CmtWriteTSQData (tsqHandle, buffer, strlen (buffer),TSQ_INFINITE_TIMEOUT, NULL);
    with buffer as the buffer containing my string. Note that strlen(buffer) is not same each time. Also a thread is doing the writing to the queue and another thread is doing the reading. This leads to my next question: How do you read these strings out?
    Right now I am reading one
    byte at a time with:
    while (1)
    CmtReadTSQData (tsqHandle, tempbuf, 1, 10, 0);
    in a loop, with tempbuf to contain this single char, and then store it in another buffer until I read out a CR of LF which signals the end of a string.
    Will I have any problem?
    Could you please provide an alternative?
    2/ Using TSQ to contain pointers to strings.
    I haven't tried this method since I think it requires allocation of rather large static array of buffer and also requires keeping track of these pointer in a link list.
    Would you elaborate how you would use TSQ this way in my case.
    3/ Lastly, the way I described in (1) works only if I have the main thread to do writing, and another thread to do reading. Some how it doesn't work when I used one thread to do writing, one thread to do reading, and the main thread to handle user interface. I found out that the program spends all its time in the reading thread (inside the while loop).
    Why is it different if the writ
    ing thread is the main thread? Do I miss something like priority,... or anything like that?
    Thank you so much.

    You really should consider using event driven reading. There is examples of this in the Multithreading examples in cvi\samples\utility\Threading. Then you will get an event in the reader thread whenever a certain number of items are available to read. If you use the byte stream method, you should send the message length with each method so you know how to package the messages back on the reader side.
    For the pointer method, you would malloc the buffer on the writer side, send the pointer to the reader, then the reader would free the memory when it is done with the data.
    I don't understand why what you are describing in 3 occurs. If you aren't setting priority to something other than default, then each thread should get time. If you want to free up time i
    n a thread that is taking to much, just put a small Delay in that thread.
    If you want more help on this, you can look at the examples I mentioned above, read the Multithreading Overview available in PDF form in the cvi\bin directory or contact NI support at http://www.ni.com/ask.

  • Query string read as part of file name, throwing not found errors

    Hi all, I host a number of Web sites under a CF7 installation, Win2003.
    One site in particular is throwing not-found errors in response to certain search bot requests.
    In the IIS log, I noticed that for these requests, the query part of the URL is part of cs-uri-stem field value, but is not in the cs-uri-query field where it belongs:
    cs-uri-stem=                                               /index.cfm?template=24hour5.cfm
    cs-uri-query=<blank>
    instead of
    cs-uri-stem=                                               /index.cfm
    cs-uri-query=template=24hour5.cfm
    Evidently something somewhere is interpreting the entire URL as a filename, instead of a file name and a query string. When CF tries to locate the file it is throwing a not-found error.
    Maybe there is something weird about the question mark, but it looks normal to me.
    I can't seem to stop this error, since it is occuring at the OS, IIS, CF or jrun layer. Does anyone have any idea what is going on here, and what I can do about it?
    Thanks in advance.
    Joe

    Hey Reed, thanks for responding.
    I have a Cf utility that parses logs, so I modifed it to print out the ASCII codes for each character. They look normal, as far as I can tell. The question mark has a code of 63 which is correct, and no non-alphabetic characters precede or follow.
    One interesting thing is that the stem being called is an index.cfm file, and the query string argument happens to be a template name, and it ends in .cfm. That's why it is making it all the way to CF, which chokes on it, instead of IIS logging a 404 error.
    Often an identifiable bot is requesting these bad URLs, though I have spotted another request with agent 'Mozilla/4.0.' I suspect that is some kind of automated scan. (I also see other requests with the same agent name, though a different IP, that look like errononeously URL-encoded requests. These get filtered by URLScan.)
    I don't know for sure is whether the specific clients that make these bad calls always make them them wrong way. They appear to. Most clients that access the site do so normally.
    I wonder if there could be something in the request header, perhaps that instructs IIS to expect a different charset than what is actually used, or something like that.

  • Reverse proxy query strings

    Hi

  • Reading parameters from Query string : Sender SOAP adapter.

    Hello Experts,
    I have a SOAP to SOAP scenario. Here we will have multiple receivers and dynamic receiver determination is needed.
    The sender will send a Value in Query string of URL to sender SOAP adapter. This value in Query string parameter will decide the receiver at runtime.
    I need to know, how can we read values from Query string of incoming call? I did tried to search blogs & forum threads but unfortunately not able to hit the right links.
    Any inputs will be of great help.
    Should i use "Use Query String" on sender soap channel? I tried it, but i was not able to find any query string parameters in SOAP header or payload.
    Please guide me, its bit urgent.
    Regards,
    Abhi.

    > But the argument provided from their side is: They are using standard XSD and this service is provided out of box with sender application.
    If they can add a URL parameter, they can also add a field to the structure.
    > They cant control the value mapping of parameters in payload to the extent required to implement this change.
    Adding a new field to the structure would not affect any existing mapping.
    > Since they have this custom requirement of multiple receivers & receiver to be determined at runtime, they need to go for Query string.
    This can be done based on any field of the payload.
    > I need to find a way to read the query string in any case.
    This is not supported by SOAP adapter.
    > Can I use one of the header parameters to be mapped to this value  (By selecting "Use Query string" & "Keep Headers" flag in sender CC) & then extract this value from header using Dynamic configuration ?
    This feature works only for XI header fields, like message ID or QoS.
    Not for individual parameters.

  • Howto read url query string? Help :(

    Hi everyone, I am trying to read the query string from within an applet loaded from a URL. I am loading netscape with the following URL
    "http://localhost/mypage.html?param1=help"
    I am using code:
    System.out.println(getDocumentBase().getQuery());
    and all I am getting is a null?
    This works with appletviewer so could someone tell me what is going on. I have searched the forum but it seems no answer yet exists for this. Perhaps its not possible?
    Info:
    OS: Redhat Linux 8
    java version "1.3.1_02"
    Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.1_02-b02)
    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.1_02-b02, mixed mode)

    hi,
    can it be that there is a problem with netscape?
    it would suggest to try on ie, but you use linux and i dont think theres an ie-version for linux available ;P
    i would try it on a different browser like opera or something.

  • How to disable query-string evaluation in OSB proxy service?

    OSB 10.3 proxy service evaluates the query String ?WSDL (are there more such parameters?). Usually the assigned WSDL will be returned this way.
    I want to use OSB as simple HTTP-proxy. There is no WSDL assigned. The proxy service should simply pass all parameters to the request pipeline. This works fine for parameters in general but not for WSDL. This produces the exception below.
    Does anyone have an idea how to disable this query string evaluation within OSB proxy service?
    Thanks

    Daniel,
    http://hostServer/contextpath?WSDL is common way of retrieving WSDL for service whcih supports one. The case you are suggesting is if the service does not have any wsdl associated, then it is good practice that caller be notified appropriately which is being done by OSB. OSB is indicating that the service for which we have used ?wsdl has no wsdl associated.
    I guess there is no way we can disable this feature for un-typed OSB services (services which doesn't have wsdl associated). Any reason why would we don't want exception when '?wsdl' is used?

  • Can a single quote be used at the beginning of a query string parameter

    Hi all,
    I am a relative newbie and have a newbie question.
    Can a single quote be used at the beginning of a query string parameter passed to a jsp page? Are there any inherant problems with this? Is there a comprehensive list of characters that must be escaped in a query string parameter?
    Example: http://mysite.com/myjsp.jsp?param1='nghdh
    Thanks

    You'll have to escape most non-letter characters before you can pass them as a URL. I don't know if it's necessary for a single quote, but better safe than sorry.
    Either use java.net.URLEncoder(...) or use javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse.encodeURL(String). I wouldn't recommend using unescaped characters in your URLs, that might cause pretty funny behavior that's sometimes hard to trace back. Don't worry about decoding it, your JSP/Servlet container will do it when you call javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest.getParameter(String).

  • Query strings?

    Hey,
    I'm fairly new to html and web design, but I'm wondering: why does Muse add query strings on every static resource url? There must be a reason I don't understand, but removing them all manually works, thus my question.
    Thx in advance for the answers.
    Alucryd

    Static HTML/CSS/JS is most often cached in the browser. These strings prevent that caching.
    explained:
    http://guyellisrocks.com/coding/automatically-keeping-css-file-current-on-any-web-page/
    Removing the strings is not ideal if you intend to update the page later.

  • Pass multiple query strings to url using HTTPWebRequest

    I'm trying to read data from API (in Json format) and load it into SQL server using script task in SSIS.
    Dim Request1 As System.Net.HttpWebRequest = DirectCast(System.Net.HttpWebRequest.Create(URL), System.Net.HttpWebRequest)
            Dim Object1 As [Object]
            Dim Response1 As System.Net.HttpWebResponse = Nothing
            Dim reader1 As System.IO.StreamReader
            Dim myResponseString As String
            Request1.Headers.Add("Authorization: Token *****")
            Try
                Response1 = DirectCast(Request1.GetResponse(), System.Net.HttpWebResponse)
                reader 1= New System.IO.StreamReader(Response1.GetResponseStream())
                myResponseString = reader.ReadToEnd()
    I'm able to do this with the URL. However, the requirement now is to pass different query strings to the URL and load the data into SQL.
    Could someone please provide the code sample to achieve this.
    Thanks

    If we sent you a code you must try and tell that it doesn't work or that's not what I want, this is better than repeating the same question again and again. Here you go another snippet for httpwebrequest with querstrings and tested:
    Private Sub Form1_Load(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
    Try
    Dim request As HttpWebRequest = DirectCast(HttpWebRequest.Create(New Uri("http://www.google.com?querstring1=1&querystring2=2")), HttpWebRequest)
    request.BeginGetResponse(New AsyncCallback(AddressOf ReadCallback), request)
    Catch ex As WebException
     End Try
    End Sub
    Private Sub ReadCallback(asynchronousResult As IAsyncResult)
    Dim request As HttpWebRequest = DirectCast(asynchronousResult.AsyncState, HttpWebRequest)
    Dim response As HttpWebResponse = DirectCast(request.EndGetResponse(asynchronousResult), HttpWebResponse)
    Using streamReader1 As New StreamReader(response.GetResponseStream())
    Dim resultString As String = streamReader1.ReadToEnd()
    Dim result As String = Convert.ToString("Using HttpWebRequest: ") & resultString
    End Using
    End Sub

  • Action and Query-String in HTTP Adapter

    Hi,
    I am doing an IDOC -> SAP PI -> HTTP scenario
    HTTP application is external party (using Party).
    I have to build the URL Dynamically; so I use Dynamic Configuration in Message Mapping.
    The URL format (from help.sap.com) is http://<hostname:port>/<path>?<query-string>
    Hostname and port are know to me.
    From where will I get information about path and query-string , are they mandatory?
    help.sap.com has given details about sender HTTP: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/44/8f54b8b01e3673e10000000a114a6b/content.htm but i want to know about receiver HTTP.
    Is there any example available?
    Thank you,
    Pankaj.

    > So I have to ask the External Parties to send the message (to SAP PI) to the URL (http://hostname:port/<action>?<query-string>)?
    When you replace the varaibles, yes.
    > Any idea about my original question (about action and query-string in receiver channel's URL) or should I use a RFC destination there (now it will be Type G I suppose)
    Just put the URL of the receiver.
    > There is SSL configuration also between External Parties and SAP PI (if this information is required).
    In that case, you put a URL with https://..
