Quicktime Dynamic Payload Support

Hi -
I have created a streaming server using the RTSP/SDP/RTP protocols and I am having a little trouble getting a dynamic payload to work with my server. I am trying to stream a mu-law encoded file at 11025 Hz sampling rate and 8 bits per sample. The standard is 8000 Hz and my server handles that just fine. However, when I try and stream the 11025 Hz audio Quicktime tries to connect to the internet because it doesn't understand the file. When I save the file to my computer and play it Quicktime plays the file back just fine.
The relevant part of my SDP is as follows:
m=audio 5004 RTP/AVP 98
a=rtpmap:98 PCMU/11025
I am not sure if the PCMU title is correct for this stream.
I have the format list listed in the SDP RFC (RFC4556), but my payload is not defined there. Does anyone have a list of all the codecs that Quicktime supports for streaming purposes?
Thanks for any help!

  • Dynamic Disk Support in Azure Pack

Is Dynamic Disk supported to be added into a VM that is part of a cloud through Windows Azure Pack?

what do you mean by dynamic disk ?
Do you mean dynamically expanding VHDs ?
If you mean that than i confirm you that you can use either dynamic or fixed VHDs types (VHD and VHDx)
Fixed VHDs limitation is only in Microsoft Azure and not in Windows Azure Pack (only VHD)

  • Add dynamic Payload Type to JMF

    Hi all
I am trying to write a Java application to play streaming video (RTP with dynamic payload of 96) from UCT IPTV server, http://uctimsclient.berlios.de/uctiptv_howto.html
(My application could receive the streaming RTP but cannot play it)
I think that I need to register 2 formats to JMF:
    1) MPA, payload type 96
    2) H263_1998, payload type 96
Below is the information when I run the server.
    ffenc_h263p Caps:
    video/x-raw-yuv, format=(fourcc)I420, width=(int)352, height=(int)240, pixel-aspect-ratio=(fraction)8/9, framerate=(fraction)30000/1001
    Video Caps:
    application/x-rtp, media=(string)video, clock-rate=(int)90000, encoding-name=(string)H263-1998, payload=(int)96, ssrc=(guint)2779507444, clock-base=(guint)599556584, seqnum-base=(guint)5482
    Audio Caps:
    application/x-rtp, media=(string)audio, clock-rate=(int)90000, encoding-name=(string)MPA, payload=(int)96, ssrc=(guint)3836987939, clock-base=(guint)2707891566, seqnum-base=(guint)52755
I don't know much about codecs. Could any one please help me out with this problem.
    Thanks

Here is one of the coolest things about LV, and one of its major advantages over languages like VB - it has automatic memory management and it compiles whenever you make a change. This allows you to be very free in the way you handle data and change your code. In this case, you should note the small gray dot that appears when you wire the dynamic data into the Array of Waveforms input. This gray dot means that LV coerces the source data type (DDT, in this case) to the target data type (Array of waveforms). If it wouldn't match, you would get a broken wire, the VI couldn't run, and if you hover over the wire or press the broken run button you would get an exact description of the error. Cool, eh?
This can also be seen in other things. For example, you can change an array's data type or number of dimensions by simply doing it. This will automatically be reflected anywhere the array is called in the program, and if anything won't match, the VI will be broken. If you change the # of dimensions of an array, any array function which that array is wired to will adapt. This allows you to be very safe in the way you write code, because you have LV watching all that annoying stuff for you. You don't have to worry about misspelling a variable here (for the most part).
One important point about coercion - it does take processor power. This will usually only be evident in large arrays or loops, but it is an important point. Another thing is that coercing numeric types can cause you to lose data - coercing a DBL to a U16, for example, will cause you to lose all the fractional data.
To learn more about LabVIEW, I suggest you try searching this site and google for LabVIEW tutorials. Here and here are a couple you can start with. You can also contact your local NI office and join one of their courses.
In addition, I suggest you read the LabVIEW style guide and the LabVIEW user manual (Help>>Search the LabVIEW Bookshelf).

  • Rtp dynamic payload type 123

    Hello,
We have a problem about RTP dynamic payload type 123. If you know, please explain when cisco gateways are nagotiation between non-cisco media gateways. When we look at rtp packets, Wireshark tag this packets malformed. Is there a way Can we disable between gateways are nagotiation with dynamic payload type 123.
i found only below info about rtp dynamic payload type 123 that is used for indicating Cisco CAS information.
    RTP Payload Value
    RTP Payload Definition
    123
    Indicates Cisco CAS information.
    regards,
    Omer

    What is your hardware?
Do you have already see this doc?
Enable RTP Signaling on AS5350 and AS5400
In order to prevent errors caused by RTP packets of payload type “123” on Cisco AS5350 and AS5400 series platforms, RTP signal processing is disabled by default. Under some circumstances, packets of this type can cause an invalid memory address error in AS5350 and AS5400 series platforms, potentially crashing the devices.
On these models, you can enable RTP signal processing using the voice-fastpath voice-rtp-signalling enable hidden configuration command. However, before you enable RTP signal processing, prepare the platform to handle RTP packets of payload type “123” by enabling T-CCS.
After you prepare the platform, you can use these commands in order to enable or disable RTP signal processing.
In order to enable RTP signal processing, use this command:
    Router(config)#voice-fastpath voice-rtp-signalling enable
In order to disable RTP signal processing, use this command:Router(config)#no voice-fastpath voice-rtp-signalling enable

  • Quicktime Does Not Support Current Display Setting...

When I have iTunes open (minimized or full screen) and lock my computer (Windows Key + L, goes to switch user screen) in Windows XP Pro SP2 I am getting the following message:
    Unsupported Display
"QuickTime does not support the current Display Setting. Please change it and restart this application."
This happens on my work computer and home computer, both running Windows XP SP2 (Home and Pro). It happened in iTunes 7.0, 7.1 and now 7.2. Is this a known issue with iTunes/QuickTime, and how can it be resolved?
      Windows XP Pro
      Windows XP Pro   iTunes 7.2

I don't know why everyone is having weird problems with Itunes. I switched from Yahoo! Music Jukebox about a month ago because of a few issues their. I have updated twice sense switching. I'm running the latest version 7.4.3.1 I don't want or have a ipod, but sense I sense I switched other than Missing album art & Itunes editing my library I've had 0 problems with Itunes, it plays & opens Has never froze. I spend a lot of time in the forums to try to help people with the probles with Itunes.

    Wow. Okay...
I'll let the real veterans in this forum tackle your issues one after the other. But, I can tell you, all will be well.
My only comment would be re: your computer specs:

To be completely honest, FCPX is a RAM hog. It just is. But, RAM is relatively cheap, and the pay-off is good.
4GB is right on the edge, IMHO. 16G is ideal.
I wish you luck, hang in there, and standby for more help.

  • I just tried to play a video podcast on iTunes and received and error message saying QuickTime is not supported by this version of iTunes?

I have the latest version of iTunes installed on my iMac. Everything on the iMac is up to date. I am perplexed by iTunes not supporting QuickTime. Has anyone else experienced this?

Try relaunching iTunes in 32-bit mode first, as per the instructions in the following document:

  • Dynamic Type Support (or in app text size)

Hey Claudius! After perusing the reviews for you, a main request is gaining support for dynamic type. Or having the option to change text size in app. Some consumers are straining their eyes to see small text. After Changing my app to support Dynamic Type, consumers with eye issues greatly appreiciated the changes. It didnt take very long, should be easy (hopefully) to accomplish. Thanks(hopefully this helps) Redwave Studios

In iOS there a global setting called dynamic type;  There are API's from apple to help you if you are confused. Dynamic Type is an accessbility feature for visually challenged.

  • QuickTime doesn't support mpeg4

My quicktime player tells me that it doesn't support mpeg4 when I try to play an mpeg4 on my home xp system. What should I do.

Are you sure the video is industry-standard MPEG-4? Some formats, including Microsoft's, use the .mp4 extension even though the codec is an offshoot of the standard and so not compatible. From where did the video come?

  • Quicktime Pro and supported formats

Looking for confirmation on using Quicktime Pro to create slideshows that can be used for both Mac and PC uses:
    - All other phones. iPhone is a sure thing.
    - As a screen saver (Mac & PC)
    - As DVD (Mac, PC, TV)
I know this is all about supported formats and have found what Quicktime Pro exports, but there's no admission on all the cross platform compatiblities.
Thanks in advance for your reply!

MOV containers with say H.264 are platform agnostic - QT files on Windows and QT on a mac play the same files assuming they have QT installed. You can buy Flip4mac export and even make WMV files using QT. You can export to 3gp for phones, that is a standard for the phone and again nothing to do with Quicktime per se.
QT does not author DVDs. That requires an MPEG-2 encoder so you can use iDVD which does have a slideshow function, or iPhoto to iDVD or make a slideshow in Quicktime then use that as your video source in a DVD authoring program, e.g. iDVD or more easily, in Toast.
I use Talaphoto from Talasoft to make slideshows, it writes a nice QT file and times music well to the duration. Then that QT file is used in Toast to make a DVD.
Your reference to DVD - PC, Mac, TV - again - another platform agnostic standard - DVD (video) is DVD - plays in a DVD player - computer, TV or either, but it has nothing to do with a mac as the source and everything to do with a DVD being written to the DVD standard.
No idea how you make a screensaver - look at screensaver writing programs and determine what source material is required.

  • [iPhone + Quicktime] STARTTIME Attribute Support in Mobile Safari?

I have a large amount of program audio with time offsets normally served through a web-based Flash MP3 player.
In my attempt to port this content to the iPhone, I am hoping to make use of the STARTTIME embed attribute in Quicktime (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/tutorials/embed2.html#starttime).
Unfortunately, this feature doesn't seem to be working with Mobile Safari. Does anyone know if this is an option in the iPhone Quicktime player, or are there any possible workarounds for setting time offsets on progressive MP3 audio?
    Thanks!

i'm not sure the iphone supports .mov files. try exporting as a .mp4 (MPEG-4).

  • Ipv6 6rd dynamic ip support

Hi, I have Airport Express 2 with the latest firmware version as of July 2014.
My internet service provider has recently announced ipv6 6rd availability.
They will only offer support to folks who use their rented modem/router (not an Airport).
People have successfully gotten 6rd up and going from my ISP using a couple of router types.
I have done some searching and found a solution for an AirPort using a static address.
The only solution I have found using an AirPort with dynamic IP address involves using external code to feed the AirPort each time the address changes.
So my questions are:  does the AirPort Express support 6rd with a dynamic IP at the current time without resorting to external code?
If so, how does one go about it?
If not, does anyone know if that is in the works?
    Thank you.

    Hi Sushill,
yes the small business family of cameras support Dynamic IP address assignment, see attached screen capture as an example.

  • Fuji S5 Pro Dynamic Range Support?

I have been playing around with LR 1.4 and searching the forums and help files but have not been able to figure out if LR supports editing the amount of dynamic range in Fuji's RAW files. Does anyone know if LR does and if so what it is called in LR? I'm trying to decide if I want to go with LR or Aperture... Thanks!

Jao, Are you familiar with the Fuji CCD and RAW file? The Fuji CCD has 2 sets of sensors, one at a normal range and one at a less sensitive range. This is what provides the extra control of dynamic range of a Fuji CCD. All of the information from the CCD, the two sets of sensor data, is stored in the RAW file. By manipulating the mix of the two different sets you can adjust the range. The Fuji RAW editor allows you to mix these two sets but the editor is slow and doesnt work as nicely as LR or Aperture. Im trying to find out if there is a similar set point in either LR or Aperture that will adjust the data from the two sets of sensors. All of this data is in the RAW file not the metadata. Shadow fill and highlight don't seem to make the adjustments that I'm looking for.
