Hi,
How to check if my services in R12 are running ?
I want to check these from the unix command line
Say for example in 11i we used to do ps -ef | grep fnd
Does those command holds good in R12 as well.

You can still use the ps -ef method for some of the processes, like the concurrent managers. For the forms and web tier, it's actually a little bit more straightforward, since the services are under opmn. To determine the status of your forms and web components, try:
appldev@r12dev:~> $ADMIN_SCRIPTS_HOME/adopmnctl.sh status
You are running adopmnctl.sh version 120.4

...you'll find that the start/stop scripts for the individual components (adapcctl.sh, adformsctl.sh, etc) will produce the same output when you run them with the 'status' option.

Discoverer in R12

Hai all,
tried installing Discoverer for r12 in the same server where I have oracle applications installed..discovere installation went fine.. made al the changes in the application tier,run autoconfig..now BI is working fine..when I try to start the application services, opm doesnt start failes with the error bind address already in use
for the port 6200

Error while creating application user in EBS R12 through sysadmin

I am using SSO/OID, while creating user it is giving following error in oracle apps R12:-

Pls. complete the following step:-
1) what's your R12 RUP version ?
2) As user 'MURTHY4' do not exist in FND_USERS, please do the following:
Enable Log Debug for E-Business Suite
Connected as System Administrator, modify the following system profiles:
FND: Debug Log Enabled Yes
FND: Debug Log Filename <empty>
FND: Debug Log Level STATEMENT
FND: Debug Log Mode Asynchronous with Cross-Tier Sequencing
FND: Debug Log Module % or fnd%
There is no need to stop and restart E-Business Suite.
All log information will be created in the table FND_LOG_MESSAGES.
Make sure nobody access the system or else it will put redundant entries in fnd_log_messages.
Truncate the table first using command:
truncate table applsys.fnd_log_messages; commit;
then perform the steps as described below
As soon as you finished reproducing the problem, run the following query :
select timestamp,module,message_text from fnd_log_messages order by log_sequence asc;
then save the O/P in an excel spread sheet and upload the RESULTS for review.
Revert the debug settings

Unable to open any form in R12 after getting FRM 92050 error

Hi gurus,
i have some problem opening form
i can switch between responsibilites but one trying to open it doesnt show any change
ex: system adminstrator -->concurrent request
no change
earlier i was getting FRM-92050 error for which i followed this doc

Hi,
i came up with solution
am currently using IE8 explorer
i uninstalled both java 6 update 17 and j2se 5 update 10
installed fresh jre-7-windows-i586.exe and oaj2se.exe (j2se 5 update 10)
now its working fine with this but...
its taking too much time
when i start same form(system administrator -- concurrent request) with chrome its giving error
FRM-92120 REGISTRY FILE: \ORACLE\FORMS\REGISTRY\REGISTRY.DAT IS MISSING

Oracle EBS R12.0.0.4 - Work Load Management

Dear All,
I am working as a System Adminsitrator for an educational institution. Oflately my institution has become a oracle education partner for Oracle EBS – Finance. Unfortunetly we don’t have a system adminstrator who is qualified to adminster Oracle EBS. So I had to install and maintain Oracle EBS 12.0.0.4. I have successfully installed Oracle R12.0.0.4 on a Windows 2003 Server. The installation was successful and EBS Server is working fine. But there is a problem, we have around 40 users/students and when all the users try to login the whole server becomes slow and at the end after above 15-18 users have logged in I get any of the following errors:
1.     500 Internal Error
2.     TNS Listerner could not hand off client connection
3.     A Java expection has occurred (not particular about the error message)
4.     After Java Applet – Forms is initialized I get an error saying the username VIS and password VIS is wrong.
5.     The Server does not display any page and it becomes time out.
The Configuration of the server is Intel Dual Core 1.8Ghz, 2 GB DDR2 RAM, 750 GB SATA HDD, IBM x3200 Series Server.
Please suggest me a way out so that all the students can work with EBS at the same time. At the beginning under the Application Dashboard, Concurrent Manager is shown with an x, but after some time say about 10-15 mins after booting, the Dashboard show CM as working with a tick in it. Will Increasing RAM solve my problem. Or is there something I need to do.

Pl. Note: I am not well versed in all procedure, I am a advanced user in networking, OS Setup, Windows 2003 Server. But a new comer to oracle DBMS & APPS. I will be able to copeup with whatever u peope say me but knidly try to keep the language as simple as possible.

Actualy you define your problem and your answer same time. Your user has those error coz your server cant handle whit request. Its mean your server source not enough for those users number and also for r12.
If possible first increase your RAM, I belive it could be helpful for beginning, than you should watch your system.
You need resizing of your server or if possible to move new more powerfull server.

I was able to install Discoverer 10g successfully.
Changed the profile options of Discoverer and tried to access it from R12.
But getting below error.
A connection error has occurred.
- OracleBI Discoverer was unable to complete the connection initialization.
- Attempt 1. CORBA protocol : 0 of 1 processes started. Hint: An administrator can further diagnose connection problems by running the "checkdiscoverer" script under <ORACLE_HOME>/discoverer/util.
The checkdiscoverer script output is like this. Please check.

Cureently m working on R12 upgrade project.
And we have a report which is working fine 12 but the graphs are not getting displayed as like 11i.

SSL TEST IN R12

we are about to implement SSL in ebs r12.0.4 to ensure that the user name and password get passed over the browser as encrypted(by default which is passed as simple text).
Now i am following metalink document Enabling SSL in Release 12 [ID 376700.1]
Initially i was testing with the demo certifcatest at the $INST_TOP/certs/Apache.

11i to r12 Conversion - help needed

My client is doing re-implementation of r12 and migrating from 11i to r12. I need help particularly on conversions side. The client is a SaaS company. they are considering to bring open and history transactions and applied/unapplied receipts to r12 AR.
- how to migrate revenue scheduled open/closed invoices from 11i to r12 since rev schedules for a SaaS company is expected to be long terms. and how to make sure that rev schedules are correct upon migration to r12??
- for partially paid invoices how to make sure that the same partially paid amount reflects in r12 upon conversion? can a negative line amount equalling to paid amount be a possible solution??
- upon migration do the closed invoices have to be converted as open and receipts re-applied after migration in r12 or they can be brought in as-is with status closed?
- if customer paid for an invoice using a credit card in 11i and upon migration it came to notice that the credit card is no longer used by the customer so how to re-apply the same receipt in r12 which was applied in 11i using that credit card. do we have to enable it in r12 just for closing the invoice? what could be possibilities?
please anyone if can answer would be very helpful

Data migration b/w r11 and r12

Hi,
the place i worked have boht R11 & R12 intances, i need to move some clients (shared service cnetre) from r11 to r12. In terms fo data i.e. AP, AR & GL. i need to find a quick way around.
My concern is
1) should i just move the Open POs if yes /no then y
2) how about customers and suppliers
3)Open & closed invoices (AR)
used to do balance tranfer, but there are some complications and is time consuming as well. Please share your thoughts and experience on above and if possible a step by step process that you know or have used

2) Use transaction RSA3 in BW and R/3 for this datasource.
3) Try to test data for a month say May 2007
4) If it is the same, may be you are not using proper selection conditions in the Infopackage.

Use of open interface tables in R12

Hello,
Can someone tell me the status of using open interface tables in release 12. Is this still a supported mechanism for importing data into the product, or must you use a PL/SQL/Java API, XML gateway etc?
iREP for 11.5.10 lists these open interface tables, but they are missing from the embedded iREP in R12. However, looking in the database for the RA_CUSTOMERS_INTERFACE_ALL shows that the tables exists. Is it supported to still use open interface tables, or are they just there for legacy upgrade purposes? If it is supported, where is the documentation for these R12 open interface tables?
I wish to integrate into various modules using Oracle Data Integrator and it seems to only have 'integration knowledge modules' to support open interface tables.

Thanks for your response. Two of the links do not work.
All I really need to know for sure is that R12 supports open interface tables.
Perhaps I didn't use the embedded R12 iRep correctly - the standard view by product family certainly didn't show any open interface table, and they did not appear in the 'interface type' drop down list. However, I notice from an example on the web that you can pivot the results by interface type. I will try that when the environment becomes available again.

Discoverer report not working on R12 !

We have just migrated to R12 from 11i and some of the discoverer query is not working, but the same is working fine when we ran thru SQL Developer or TOAD.
Is there any context (mo_global.set_policy_context) needs to be set in Discoverer report to get the data?

There is no any specific error message, the strange thing is if I run the Discoverer report is not returning any data, but if I set the mo_global.set_policy_context ('S',111) in SQL Developer or TOAD and then run the discoverer report it return data...
Any pointers?

Discoverer report with PO_RELEASES in R12

Hi all,
I'm migrating a Discoverer report from 11i to R12. The query of the folder uses the po_releases and this join condition "and rcv_transactions.po_release_id = po_releases.po_release_id(+)". When I run the report I get the error "invalid number" but when I tried the same query but using the po_releases_all it seems to work. Is this ok? I saw that in R12 po_releases is just a synonym, is this correct? I would appreciate your comments.

Thanks Hussein. Yes, I've checked the document you recomend, but the problem seems to be when I try to use po_releases, the synomy) and I don't know why it work with the _all table but not work with the synonym.

You can only see the menu of one responsibility at a time, so how to do you expect the application to let you see multiple responsibilities/menus in one session?
You could open another session and this way you can access more than one responsibility at the same time.

I am getting the following error when I tried to access the Transactions--> receipts--> 'return' from Inventory responsibilty in oracle apps R12.
'You are not set up as worker. To access this form you need to be a worker.'
