Radio button in ALV without using field catalog

Hi All,
My requirement is i want to create a RFC function module to display the header table.
while executing the function module the output is of alv grid format.
i have used the structure for this.
i didnt create a layout and fieldcatalog.
now i need to add a radio button in that alv grid display.
how to create the radio button without using field catalog.
Thank in Advance.

Hi Aishwarya,
You need to use the field catalog for displaying a field as a radio button in ALV grid.
Please refer to this link for doing so. [Radio buttons in ALV Grid|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Snippets/ABAP-RadioButtonsinALVGRIDREPORT]
You can use LVC_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE wherein you can use your structure and the Icon for Radiobutton.
Refer to this link -[Radiobuttons in ALV Grid 2|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a02535ce-9eaf-2910-ae8c-f2f2afc1c8e7?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true]
Best Regards,
Sharmila

  • Using radio buttons to populate a text field

    Hi
    This is my first time creating Adobe Forms and my first time using JavaScript as well. One of the questions on my form asks about Ethnicity and I have about 15 choices for which I created radio buttons. I want the user's choice to populate a textfield, but am not sure how to write the code that will do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    If you set the export value (aka Button Value, Radio Button Choice) of each radio button to the text you want to show up in the text box, the custom calculate script for the text box, which you should set to read-only, can be simply:
    (function () {
        // Get the value of the radio button group, as a string
        var s = getField("Ethnicity").valueAsString;
        // Set this field's value to the text associated with the selected radio button
        event.value = s === "Off" ? "" : s;
    If none of the radio buttons is selected, the text field will be blank. Change "Ethnicity" above to the actial name of the radio button group.

  • How to delimit leading zero in vendor number in OO ABAP ALV without using conversion routine

    Hi,
    How to delimit leading zero in OO ABAP ALV without using conversion routine, because I have many fields like vendor, customer, material number etc..
    How to address this leading zero.
    I appreciate your quick response.
    Regards,
    Nalini S.

    Hi Nalini,
    Delimiting leading zeros in fields has to be done via conversion routines, as suggested by Vadamalai you need to pass on the conversion routine name in you field catalog variable.
    Now as to which object oriented approach are you using to have your table contents display in ALV as it matters  -
    Using FACTORY method of CL_SALV_TABLE class, or
    Using SET_TABLE_FOR_FIRST_DISPLAY method of CL_GUI_ALV_GRID class.
    Using FACTORY method of CL_SALV_TABLE will do your own work, no need to apply any conversion routines or set long/medium/short text for columns as we do in field catalogs!
    Cheers,
    Varun

  • How to set item values without using fields in branch's ACTION block?

    Okay, I will try to say this in a easy way so it is not weird.
    I have created a button, SAVE, that has a Branch of branch type: Branch To Function Returning A Page. This is my code for the branch:
    if :P2008_NAP_SUPPORTING_MATERIALS = 'Yes' then
    return '2092';
    else
    return '2040';
    end if;
    The code for this type of branch is stored in the ACTION block of the Branch page. The ACTION block for a Branch of branch type: Branch To Function Returning A Page is different than the ACTION block for a Branch of branch type: Branch To Page Or URL.
    I need to set some item values with some specific values, which I can do with a branch type: Branch To Page Or URL. This is not possible with the branch type: Branch To Function Returning A Page. The ACTION block is totally different.
    How can I set some values on say Page 2040 from Page 2008 without using fields in the branch's ACTION block?
    Thank you in advance,
    Maggie

    Andy and Scott,
    I love seeing different perspectives in solving problems, it opens my eyes to new ways of looking at/using the tools (reserved words and 'Function returning a Page', etc.).
    One of my pet peeves has been that on branches I was limited to only 10 variables to be passed (I know, who would want more - but there was an instance where I had to pass more), and an even more frustrating time when using report Column Linking, which limits me to 3 variables.
    At least with the Branch linking I can use your suggestion Andy and add the variable setting statements into the function. I am assuming of course (and I should be able to) that I will be able to set more that 10 variables in a IF condition prior to the RETURN statement. This method will be much more understandable, for me, when looking through the branch at a later time to see what is happening, than an URL link where all the variable are strung out 'in a line' so to speak.
    I will still need to use URL Target branching on Links contained within a Column Attribute when I need to pass more than 3 variables, of which I have several places where I do this.

  • ALV program with Field Catalog

    Hi ,
    Can any body please provide me sample ALV programs with Field Catalog and GRID DISPLAY. and also please give me the steps for writing the program.
    Thanks in advance.
    KP

    Hi,
    For ALV GRID DISPLAY (using <b>OOPS</b>),
    1)Create an object of the <b>container</b>(an instance of a class like cl_gui_custom_container).
    2)Create an object of the <b>ALV using class cl_gui_alv_grid</b> and give the CONTAINER name that you define in your screen layout as the parent of the ALV.
    3)Call the method <b>SET_TABLE_FOR_FIRST_DISPLAY</b> of the class cl_gui_alv_grid.
    4)<b>Field catalog</b> is used when you want a variation of the standard structure to be displayed on your ALV.A  variable of table type <b>LVC_T_FCAT</b> is defined and variations can be made as per the requirements.The variable is then passed in the method SET_TABLE_FOR_FIRST_DISPLAY.

  • Radio button in ALV toolbar

    Hi experts,
    I have a requirement to add 2 radio buttons on ALV toolbar.
    I try to implement the toolbar event of class cl_gui_alv_grid, and add 2 radio buttons using the following code:
           move 'RAD' to ls_toolbar-function.
           move 'RADIO1' to ls_toolbar-quickinfo.
           move 'RADIO1' to ls_toolbar-text.
           move '4' to ls_toolbar-butn_type.
           move ' ' to ls_toolbar-disabled.
           move 'X' to ls_toolbar-checked .
           append ls_toolbar to e_object->mt_toolbar.
           clear ls_toolbar.
           move 'RAD' to ls_toolbar-function.
           move 'RADIO2' to ls_toolbar-quickinfo.
           move 'RADIO2' to ls_toolbar-text.
           move '4' to ls_toolbar-butn_type.
           move ' ' to ls_toolbar-disabled. "#EC NOTEXT
           append ls_toolbar to e_object->mt_toolbar.
    But when I run this program,I find these 2 radio buttons look like normal button, is this correct?
    And I don't know how to catch which radio button is checked or not.
    Anyone having code for it or any suggestion for it, kindly let me know...
    Thank you

    hello,
    I visit this address, but it does't meet my needs....
    I want to add radio button(button type 4) in ALV toolbar not the normal button(button type 0).
    The more important is I want to find a way to get properity of toolbar in ALV grid.
    Thank you.

  • How to create a radio button on OA Page using Personalization

    I am trying to create a radio button on OA Page using Personalization. The item style , I can see is Message Radio Group.
    How to create Message Radio Button and bring them under one group.
    Thanks

    You should use jdev to define a radiogroup and radio buttons under that, wrap that definition inside a stackLayout in jdev, use personalization to add a stackLayout and extend the region which you had created earlier in jdev.

    Use the function module "REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE" to create the field catalog of all the fields in a structure
    eg :
    data :    xfieldcat           type slis_t_fieldcat_alv.
    call function 'REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE'
        exporting
          i_program_name         = sy-repid
          i_internal_tabname     = <internal table structure>
          i_bypassing_buffer     = 'X'
          i_buffer_active        = ' '
        changing
          ct_fieldcat            = xfieldcat
        exceptions
          inconsistent_interface = 1
          program_error          = 2
          others                 = 3.
    call function 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
        exporting
          i_callback_program      = sy-repid
          i_callback_user_command = 'USER_COMMAND'
          it_fieldcat             = xfieldcat[]
        tables

  • Effective use of Radio Buttons In dealing with input fields.

    Hello All
    Based on the selection made in the radio buttons, is it possible to either hide or display particular field(ex: a MessageTextInput field) in an ADF UIX form Page. If yes can anyone help me out onhow to accomplish this task. Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Roeland,
    can you explain in detail what exactly needs to be done?
    'copy a range to a specific area on change (see the first data tab, the large white field). '
    I am assuming 'The large white field' you have mentioned is 'Data Insertion' in 'General tab'
    This section contains Series. I have created two series 1. Yes 2. No
    Now what will be the 'Insertion Type' value so that if I select 'Yes' then 4 columns will be copied and for 'No' 2 columns will be copied.
