Radio on iPod

I used to have an awful old mobile but I could listen to the radio anytime on it. I'm disappointed that my otherwise clever iPhone can't do this simple thing..why not? or am I missing something?

or purchase one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Roberts-Digital-Radio-Remote-Control/dp/B000X24UOM
(though if you have an iphone rather than an ipod touch it isn't as necessary - you will have internet access on the go - us ipod touch users don't have the technology to allow us to listen to radio apps on the go as they require internet access)

  • How do you get radio on ipod

How do you get the itunes radio on ipods. I have itunes but can not access radio.

    Hi Dars1,
iTunes Radio has not yet been released. It will be available to you when iOS 7 is released to the public this fall.
Note that you will need a device compatible with iOS 7, and located in the U.S. to use iTunes Radio.

  • Radio in IPod doesn't work anymore?

I bought a radio remote which I have been always using in my IPod until one day it doesn't work with my ipod anymore.
The radio option is not visible in the menu. What's weird however, is that the remote still works - I can navigate through my songs list, turn up/down the volume and when I connect the earphones on the jack, I can still hear music. I've tried connecting the remote to other ipods and it works.
Is there anyway I could have this fixed without changing the whole board?

You have to use the ipod Software Updater to restore your ipod. if you're using itunes 7 (or 7.0.1) then you can simply restore the ipod from the iPod Summary Screen. if your ipod is not showing up in itunes or you're using an older version of itunes then you should download the iPod Software Updater from: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/ipodupdater20060628forwindows.html
Then connect your ipod to your computer and open the Software Updater and click Restore. Hope this helps.

  • Disable radio on iPod for 10-year-old daughter?

My daughter listens to radio stations and songs I don't approve of. Even though they bleep out specific words on the radio, they still have lots of explicit content. I can regulate the songs she/we purchase and put onto the ipod but I can't control the radio. Is there a way to disable the radio on the ipod? I know it can be done in iTunes itself but that only controls the radio while on the computer. Thank you.

I can't find any restriction settings for the 5th Generation Nano. Only thing I know you could do would be to buy her a used 4th Generation Nano. It does not have a radio.

  • Media player and internet radio for IPod Touch 2g

I’ve just bought second hand IPod 2g and very disappoint. I expected will be able to download old application and enjoy maybe not new features but at least use the device. Unfortunately all which I found are not working (linke UPnPPeek) or need iOS 4.3 or higher. I’m not looking for anything new and flashy, just three things:
Simple and free UPnP/DLNA client which will play music from my NAS
Internet radio player with many stations
Something to copy files from my NAS over WiFi.
Could you help me please? I’m really frustrated on this stage after spending whole day looking for solution.

Computers are different, so you can't meaningfully compare the two types of devices. I'd suggest you research how far back the current versions of Windows Phone and Android support before you conclude that Apple is treating you unfairly. I think you'll find that Apple actually supports their hardware of this class longer than almost any other player/phone manufacturer. Your iPod was given two major operating system upgrades (with a number of new features in each) and a number of minor ones, all at no charge to you, which for a device like that seems quite reasonable to me. In addition, it's completely the developers' decision to drop support for older iPods and versions of iOS; Apple did not force them to do so.
Up to you, of course. If you feel some other device will better suit your future needs, by all means buy that device. Just do your homework before you decide so that you're not even more disappointed down the road.
    Regards.
P.S. Oh, and in just five seconds of searching I found at least a couple of streaming apps that will still work on iOS 4.2.1, at least according to the app system requirements:
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id294952511?mt=8
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id443081543?mt=8
Surely you can find something that will work for you, even if it's not ideal.

  • How to listen Itunes radio on Ipod?

i have an ipod touch with wifi connection and i will listen the radio from itunes on it. How can i do it?
    thanks

You can't listen to iTunes Radio. However, if you purchase the 2.0 upgrade, you can use such apps as AOL Radio (free) or Tuner (purchase) to listen to streaming internet radio.
    Best of luck.

  • Itunes radio and Ipod

Hi, is there a way to get all the radio stations there is on Itunes on the Ipod touch?

Keep in mind that you are not going to need the iPod at all to do this.
Simply plug the base unit into the audio port of the iMac
Bluetooth is only good for ~30 ft (less thru walls) so that would probably not be what you are looking for.

  • Radio Reciever Ipod Nano

    Hi all,
I consider to buy an Ipod Nano 6th gen ( with touchscreen ). But I have a question about it and I can't find the answer on the website.
Where does the Ipod receive the Radio? Is the receiver build in the Ipod or in the headphones? Because I have a really good headset and I doesn't want to throw this away.
I hope that someone can give an answer.

Receiver is built into the Nano, the cord on your headset will act as an antenna. I've only used my headsets with the Nano and never the Apple ones, works fine.

  • ITunes radio to iPod

Is there a way that I can put the iTunes radio output directly into my iPod? Would be great to take the music with me everywhere and not just from the computer

No, not directly. That music is not stored on your computer. It comes streaming through the Internet. Since your iPod does not connect directly to the Internet (and especially not when it's not connected to your Mac), there's not way for it to find that kind of music. However, there are applications, like , that will allow you to record the radio stations as they're playing on your Mac and then save the recorded music to your iTunes and then your iPod.
