Is there a (freeware) painting/drawing program for the Mac, such as MS Paint on wintel machines? My youngest used MS Paint for a number of school projects and I'd like to find a counterpart for use on the Mac. Thanks

There is always The Gimp, but that might be a little complicated for a young person, of couse my 9 year old uses Photoshop, so if they aren't too young you might try it. You will need to first install X11, that comes on your system DVD that came with your mac.
Have you looked at http://www.chocoflop.com/ ? I've never used it but I saw someone else recommend it.

Drawing program for adobe flash CS4

hi, im a newbie at this. I tried to use Paint but the the
white parts will still show on top of the background.
so now i ask the pros, wich program should i use to draw

I know that a few dependencies are already covered by others (as namcap reports them) but I left them all just to be "compatibile" with aqualung required and optional libraries list (check aqualung homepage for more info).
In this version gui skin chooser doesn't work (at least for me) - it can't see other skins. You can change the default skin to other (build and install aqualung-skins first) manually by changing it in the config file in your ~/.aqualung.
For fast start just run aqualung --output alsa (or oss or jack if you prefer). Jack is required always but it doesn't need to run if you are using only alsa/oss. More info on aqualung homepage.
...and for the future releases a cvs version pkgubild (no difference for now - the project is too fresh :-) but you can use it as a template)

when you connect your phone to software updater you can check if there is an update available whenever your connected to pc suite a message should come through that there is an update availalble when it arrives

New Map program for N95

Hi All
I am trying to upgrade my n95 Map program and i have downloaded thre new MAP rom upgrade but it is comming with error to upgrade. I have the new firmware 12. and old looking screen map program. can you please help to upgrade it and if there is a patch to do it could someone tell me where it is and how to get it. I did use the use the download (NOKIA_MAPS_1_0_S60_UPDATE) back in 9th AUG 2007 and updated in my N95 but it is steel with the old looking map I meen by ther is not SATALITE BAR and KB download when is on GPS mode like the new look map program.Please help.

J2EE installation program for Linux and tmpdir switch

the installation software tells me that it is short of space and i should try to use the
switch '-tmpdir' as for extracting files. i thought, well ok. no problem. so i refer the tmpdir
to a windows FAT partition. but the installation program still can't calculate the size of
newly assigned location and shows me the same error message. (it simply doesn't do the recalculation)
so i conclude that this '-tmpdir' is broken. later i tried to create a symlink and all kind of crazy tricks
but the installation program doesn't care at all. i should mention that during my installation i was operating
in a mounted FAT partition with a planty of place. the shortage of disk is constantly
reffering to my Linux partition without being aware of newly assigned location by -tmpdir.
btw, the windows partition has the ugo+rwx permission and i do everything as root.

You are right - this option is broken (parameter you specify as alternative location is being disregarded). This is corresponding bug:

One way you can workaround this is to unzip the distribution using unzip command into some temporary directory and then run setup command to start install wizard.

I copied the following from my posted reply to your query in the Tiger forum.
If for a POP type account, try the following.
Quit Mail first and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail > this account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account) > MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded.
Delete the MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded file and empty the Trash.
This should resolve the problem and if successful, any previously downloaded messages that remain on the server will be downloaded again and for future reference, you should not be accessing and especially deleting messages with a POP type account when running the Mail.app or any email client and using webmail access at the same time.

Can I download a new Uninstall Program for Elements 9 on the MAC?

I have a MAC and need to uninstall PS Elements 9. When I run the uninstall program I get a "not responding" error. Can I move this version of uninstall to trash and download a new one?
The reason I'm uninstalling is that my Time Machine won't backup anything due to a backup/sync error in Elements. Elements refuses to let me reset the backup/sync agent. So, I want to get rid of Elements 9.

Has anyone figured out how to name or describe a clip ala "keyword" in the new imovie program for maverick?

I miss the old "keyword" way of identifying a clip when doing longer form things in imovie. Is there any other way to
name or describe a clip in the browser?

iMovie acts as it does, I suspect, because it's so much safer (and easier) to program.
As iMovie is now structured, each clip has a startFrame and an endFrame. They show the starting point and ending point of that clip in its source file. There's only one of each. Simple.
For us to remove a portion of the middle without splitting the clip in two, iMovie would have to allow each clip to have multiple start/end points. So iMovie would have to "remember" that the clip starts playing at frame 100, stops at frame 120, starts again at frame 150, stops at frame 200, and so on. Very complicated.
The amount of data that would be required to undo a change, for example, could become quite large, and be very, very complicated. Lots of opportunity for errors. Imagine what iMovie would have to "remember" if we could remove the middle, added a title to the clip, remove part of the title, then split the clip and applied a slow motion effect to the second part of the split.
This way is simpler, and not all that inconvenient for users, in my opinion. I prefer simple when it adds to reliability.

Noone really knows yet but i think it is safe to say that you will only be able to get the new sports channels if you are in an infinity enabled area.
On the sky platform, the holding channels have already appeared and are just showing sailing a few hours a week to keep the epg slot.

New Download 2004S for linux does not work

I have downlowded the 4 iso images for 2004S.
Then I usded the cat function, but there was no possibility to view the folders.
When I tried to write it to DVD, there was a error " no iso 96.. image" and it does not work.
Any suggestions?
