RCIRAS0546 Error - Unable to Export a Crystal Report from BOE XI (SP3) 3.1

Hello,
We have just upgraded to Crystal Reports 2008 (from Crystal Reports 10) and BOE XI 3.1 sp3 (from Crystal Enterprise 10).  The reports created in CR 10 open and generate just fine from within CR 2008, and they are saved to BOE XI.  When I view the CR from within BOE XI web gui, the report displays fine in Crystal Report format.  When I attempt to export the report to .pdf, I get the error "Your request could not be completed because a failure occurred while the report was being processed. Please contact your system administrator. [RCIRAS0546]"  I tried exporting the report to Word, Excel, RTF, and CSV and did not get any error.  Adobe Reader IS loaded on the server (we are running direct on server right now to test before deploying over web).
This does not happen with all of our reports, and we can't figure out why it happens with some and not others.  Another thread on the forum led me to believe it may have been due to subreports, but this is not the case as the reports that error sometimes have subreports, sometimes not.  Some reports have formulas, some do not.  I can't find the common design between them to cause this issue.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!
(FYI - I've changed the default Input and Output directory of the servers from the default C drive to the D drive as it is larger.  I simply overwrote the placeholder and ensured the folder path existed - which it does.  Not sure if this applies.  I also pointed the temp directory to the same D location)

  • Scheduling Crystal report from BOE

    Hi,
I have a Crystal report (based on ECC Function module) which doesn't retrieve data when I schedule it from BOE (infoview).
I have Integration kit installed, and the crystal report works fine when i execute it manually.
I think it is an issue with connectivity/authentication or something. I don't have a service user id created. (to run the Crystal report i use my ECC user id which has authorization to S_RFC etc)
Can you tell me the steps that i need to follow before i am able to run my ECC crystal report from BOE/infoview?
    Thanks, Arka

    Hi,
the user that is scheduling the report needs to have the same authorization like viewing the report. you can also see the list of detailed authorizations required in the documentation for the SAP Integration Kit in the chapter authorizations.
all product documentation is available on help.sap.com

  • Database error when trying to view Crystal Report from InfoView

I am receiving the following error when I try to view or run a Crystal Report from the InfoView.  The report is based on an SAP InfoSet.
    "Failed to load database information."
The report data can be refreshed with no trouble from within the Crystal Reports designer on my local machine, but the error occurs after it is published to the InfoView.  The same error appears when trying to import into Excel using LiveOffice.
    Server details:
    -Edge 3.1
    -Windows 2003 64-bit
    -SAP Integration kit installed
    Local Crystal Reports machine details:
    -Windows XP
    -SAP Integration kit installed
    -Crystal Reports 2008
My steps to troubleshoot so far:
-Checked Database Logon details in CMC for the report.  Username and password are entered correctly.
-Cycled all CrystalReports background services off and on again from the CMC
    -Rebooted server
Have I missed anything?  Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
do you have any connectivity from your EDGE to the SAP System ? Like can you import roles or run a WebI ?

  • Unable to refresh a crystal report on BOE which connect to an excel

    Hi,
I have a crystal report which connect to an excel sheet on network. I am able to open it locally and refresh it. But after I upload it to the BOE, open it from infoview, I am not able to refresh it. it prompts for the database connection info.
I created an ODBC connection (choose MS excel and point to the excel file on network drive) on the BOE Server, it did not ask me for the login info and the server is responding. I also added this connection to BOE. But when I refresh the report from either infoview or CMC, it ask me for the database connection info with user login.
What should I do to solve this?
    Thanks,
    Vicky

    Hi,
The data source is an excel sheet in a network drive. I am able to refresh this report from my client computer, but after upload it to BOE, the report cannot be refreshed. The datasource configuration of this report is like the following:
    Server:
    server1\folder\excel.xls
    Database:
    server1\folder\excel.xls
    User:
    Password:
Because no user name and password are required to open the excel, I leave it blank. But when I refresh the report, it said that "the database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect."
How can I be able to refresh this report from BOE?
    Thanks,
    Vicky

  • Distribute Crystal Report from BOE Server

    Hi,
    =========
    Installation on Client machine:
    Crystal Report 2008 V1 SP1 and SP2
SAP Integration Kits XI 3.1 SP2
    Installation on BOE Server:
    BOE XI 3.1 SP2
SAP Integration Kits XI 3.1 SP2
    Installation on BW:
    SAP BW 7
    ========
Created crystal report on top of SAP BW Query, and save/publish the Crystal Report into BOE Server directly via Crystal Report ->File ->Save as (I understand that we can also save the Crystal Report into BW role, then publish the Crystal Report into BOE Server via the BW Publish, but we're not using the BW Publish option here).
Now user can logon to BOE InfoView and execute/display the Crystal Report, no problem.
My question is in BOE Server, is there any functionality that allow us to execute the Crystal Report and send it to the user automatically via email? Just like the BEx Broadcaster functionality in SAP BW 7.
If yes, how can I do it?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Seb,
I have a look at the document: http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31/en/xi3-1_bip_admin_en.pdf
I can see where to schedule the Crystal Reprot to run in the background and send out via email option.
However, I dont see how the report can be sent out from BOE server. Is there any setting need to be done so that BOE Server can send out the crystal report?
    Please help, thank you.

  • When deleting running crystal report from BOE CMC, it leaves Oracle thread?

hi,  Yesterday, we discovered an anomaly.  From BOE's CMC, I deleted a running Crystal Report instance. I believed that this would "cancel" the running report. However, later, it produced a message.  It apparently kept on running in Oracle until it finished.
My question: when I delete a job from BOE's CMC, what else must we do to cancel it from continuing in Oracle? Apparently, it continued to be a "thread" in Oracle.
What additional steps should I take or are there any setup steps?  Thank you.
Our BOE version (copied from the CMC about screen) is: Product: 12.1.0 © 2008 Business Objects (or Product Version:      12.2.0.290).
    Thank you,
    Dean

I'd just been trying instructions in SAP note: 1407795 when this reply came through.... I can confirm this worked for me.
The error codes I found in the Windows Event viewer, both yesterday and today are listen below:
    RCIRAS0240
    RCIRAS0622
    RCIRAS0567
    RCIRAS0244
The issues that are described in this post and the ones I have seen first-hand  when the screen hangs when viewing this report on-demand, or the report running for a longer than expected time when scheduled, are covered by the above error codes.
A known cause of the issues you are experiencing is that when these particular reports were created, a network printer was specified as the default printer, this printer may now either be unavailable, IP address may have changed, etc.
There do seem to be two options available:
Option 1 - Remove the printer driver dependency
Open this report in the Crystal Reports Designer.
Under the File menu, click on Page Setup.
    Select the No Printer option.
Option 2 - Add or correct the printer that the report is designed with
Open the Report in the Crystal Reports Designer
Under the File menu, click on Page Setup
Make not of the printer that is listed in the Page Setup dialog
Log on to the BusinessObjects Enterprise Server that houses the Crystal Reports Processing Servers.
Make sure you log in as the user account that runs the Crystal Reports services.  This is generally the account that runs the Service Intelligence Agent (SIA)
Go to Control Panel and click on Printers
Ensure that the same printer is configured on the server that is used in the Crystal Report
In the printer already exists, try removing it and re-adding it.

  • Duplicate Object Name Error When Publishing Crystal Reports from BW to BOE

    Hi,
We recently upgraded our systems (all client and server) to SP2.7 in order to solve a problem with saving Crystal Reports to BW.  Now we are experiencing a new error when trying to publish a Crystal Report from BW to BOE (either all in one step from Crystal Reports application or directly from within BW).
Upon trying to publish a Crystal Report from BW to BOE, we get the following error:
"An error occurred while saving and / or publishing.  The return code 1 was returned from the server.  Logon to Crystal Enterprise failed.  Unable to commit the changes to Enterprise.  Reason: Failed to commit objects to server : Duplicate object name in the same folder."
We have repeated this issue numerous time with different reports, users and logon credentials and have verified that there are NOT any duplicate object names.
Additionally, in some cases, the report ultimately publishes to BOE, but with the above error interruption along the way.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Josh

    Ingo,
Apologies for the delayed response.  We've spent a few days poking around with this issue, and had even opened a customer message for it (13641).
In the end, it seems that the problem was somehow associated with the "Prepare this report for translation." flag in the "Save to BW Options" dialog box of Crystal Reports.  If we try to Save & Publish with the Translation flag selected, we get the duplicate entry error.  If we Save & Publish without the Translation flag selected, everything is fine.
There are still some details we need to look into, but for the time being it looks like we don't have an issue anymore(assuming we ever did) as we're not concerned with Translation capabilities.
If we come across the problem again, I'll post again.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • Invalid export DLL or export format when export  with Crystal Reports 2008

    Hi,
We have an serious issue while exporting the crystal report into excel. We are able to export into all type in our development environment. But when we tried to export from our server all exports working except the excel. However when we restart the IIS the excel export also working for sometimes and again we are facing the same problem.
    Development environment:
    .Net 2008
    Crystal report 2008
    SQL Server 2008
    +Server Environment:+
    IIS7.0 in Classical mode
Crystal report 2008 runtime without any SP
We chosen Classical mode to avoid the error 'an error occurred on the server. printing will be stopped' after a successful print. It is an known issue and I'm curious to know is there any fix available to resolve this issue. Because we prefer Integrated mode.
Earlier we dont face the excel export problem and we encountered after the SP3 installation. So we uninstalled it from server and we just installed only the run-time. But still we are facing the same problem. we could not able to conclude the cause of this issue because classical mode may create this issue?
This is a very critical issue to us, so if anyone has the solution please help me.
    Thanks

    Hello,
Not clear, did you mean when you install SP 3 it worked?
Use Process Monitor or Fiddler to see what is failing. With out an error message or any other error from IIS logs or Event Viewer logs anything could be the cause.
    Thank you

  • Exporting a crystal report as PDF and Attaching to an email via code - Filename Issuses?

    Post Author: alynch
    CA Forum: .NET
I need to export a crystal report as a pdf and send it out via email.  I have created a subroutine that works but the attached filename come up as "untitled.txt" so the receiving machine believes it is a text file.  If I rename it on the recipients machine to a ".pdf" I can open it with acrobat and it looks OK.  Does anyone know how to rename the file as a pdf prior to sending it out?
    Thank You.

  • RTF inccorect text when I export my Crystal Report to PDF

    Hello,
I'm facing a quite unusual problem.
I've developped a VB.NET 2008 application for my customer that creates Crystal Reports from manually-entered text.
There's a part where the user can enter RTF text in a RichTextBox control, or import from a RTF File.
    Here's what I do :
I'm typing a three-lines example in Word 2007 and save it in RTF.
Then I import it in my application into the RichTextBox.
When I display the report, everything looks fine, but when I export it to PDF, "i" letters are inserted after each "t" letter.
It looks like it appears only after a "bold"-ed text. Here's and example:  [http://screencast.com/t/31t4X86XBs3]
I'm using CrystalReports Editor Included in Visual Studio 2008.
Has anyone already encoutered that issue ?
    Regards,
    Guillaume

    See [this|https://forums.sdn.sap.com/click.jspa?searchID=29094456&messageID=7206473] forum thread for possible clues to a resolution. In a nut shell, as long as the Calibri font is up to date, the other two steps are;
    1) Ensure you are using the latest Service Pack as suggested by Jonathan
    2) See what USP10.dll is loading (use the [Modules|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252802008E/modules.zip] utility)
Also, if this is a win app, compile it to an exe and run the exe to see if the issue persists. (when running the app exe, the USP10 loaded should be from the CR bin directory. when running ion the .NET environment, the USP10 will load from win\system or other)

  • Export Arabic Crystal Report To PDF

    Hi,
I am using JRC component to build crystal reports in English & Arabic. All works well except exporting Arabic crystal report to PDF?
    Crystal File Format Schema: 12.0.0
I was reading another 3 years old thread and this was stated there:
"If you are using the Java Reporting Component, you will not be able to see Arabic characters in your PDF document because the JRC does not support font embedding, and only works with a specific character set when exporting to Adobe" Any from SAP can you please confirm that does this still hold true? And are there any chances or plan to add support in future?
    Regards
    SC

Please disregard that part of the previous message.
As mentioned earlier, it depends on which of our products you are using to export the report.  If you are using the Java Reporting Component, you will not be able to see Arabic characters in your PDF document because the JRC does not support font embedding, and only works with a specific character set when exporting to Adobe.
If you are using the Crystal Reports designer or BusinessObjects Enterprise SDK to export the report, you will need to ensure you have the character set installed on the same machine; for BOE SDK it needs to be on the machine with all of the services.

  • Error while running Crystal Reports from application

    Hi,
I am getting the below error when I try to run Crystal Reports from my application.
There are no Page Servers connected to the Cache Server or all connected Page Servers are disabled or all connected Page Servers are not part of the specified server group. Please try to reconnect later.
I am able to preview the reports in CMC and Infoview, but when I try to run the same report via my application the above error pops up.
Sometimes I get a different error:
The Page Server you are trying to connect to is not accessible. Please contact your system administrator.
Looks like some configuration settings are missing/ corrupted.
I tried to look in a number of websites... tried few workarounds, but none seems to be working.
    Any help is highly appreciated.

    Dear Experts,
I face the exactly same problem, please forgive if i am not suppose to ask the same question in other people thread.
I am using SAP 8.8, PL09, SQL Server 2005, the Crystal Report is working perfectly after import into SAP B1.
However, when i do the same configuration in my customer server, the error message prompt:
Failed to retrieve data from the database.
    Detail: [Database Vendor Code: 156]
Failed to retrieve data from the database.

Failed to retrieve data from the database.
    Detail: [Database Vendor Code: 156]
The server is using SAP 8.8, PL09, with SQL Server 2008.
Could it be some setting require for SQL Server 2008?
    Please advice.
    Thanks.

  • Exporting 'drillable' Crystal Reports

I have produced some 'drillable' Crystal Reports that I can export as Crystal Reports.
We would like to distribute these reports to wide audience so I've looked at exporting these as PDF but when I do the report is no longer 'drillable', is there a way around this?
I believe that there is a free Crystal Reports viewer that we could distribute to those receivieng this report but is this the best option for handling this if we need to export and distribute this report as a Crystal Report?

You can use Crystal Reports Server - or Enterprise to distribute the reports but exporting to other formats does not mean that those applications automatically inherit Crystal functionality (drill-down for example).
As for 3rd party tools that would be up to you to research.
