RCP application on Windows JVM 1.6.0_12 crashed with exit code = 1073807364
A user was using my RCP-based application over several days. At one point, when he apparently wasn't actively using it, the JVM crashed with exit code 1073807364. After some research, I haven't been able to determine what this exit code refers to.
On additional, possibly helpful bit of information is that the hex equivalent 0x40010004 is used to indicate Windows task status. However, this app is not running Windows tasks that I know of, although perhaps RCP, SWT or the SQL Server JDBC layer is doing so without my knowledge.
Can anyone tell me what this exit code indicates, or how to find out?

Hello All
We have a server 2008 R2 HyperV server and during the last few months it started to reboot randomly.
Initially we thought its related to the issue fixed by the following hotfix so we applied it but even with the hotfix it still keeps rebooting.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2732595
Unlike what's mentioned in the hotfix , the faulting module is not "ntdll.dll" but "msvcrt.dll".Also came up with the following indication the reboots could be related to KB2871997 but that update is not installed
on this system.

Building an Application in Windows to be used in Linux (with the Run-Time Engine)
Hi All,
I have an LabVIEW project I have developed in a Windows environment. I can create an Application (.exe) using the Build Specification -> Application Builder which works fine on the development platform.
I now want to distribute the application to a Linux Environment. The OS is openSUSE v10.3 (with GNOME). I have downloaded the two rpm files needed for the run-time engine and installed them, as per here:http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/websearch/97E14BA3E0C14A89862572C300567733?opendocument&node=13207...
Now, the question is; how do I create an Application in Windows which can be used on the Linux Box? According to the Application Builder instructions, it's simply a case of removing the .exe extension in the Target File Name options, however, this gives an error "Invalid Extension."
If I do create an exe and manually remove the extention is doesn't work on the Linux enviroment (typing ./application).
Has anyone had experiance of this?
Many Thanks for Any Help,
Oliver

Labview 8.2.1
openSUSE v10.3 (with GNOME)
LabVIEW Run-time Engine Version 8.2.1 for LinuxThe cross-platform nature of LabVIEW refers more to the code than to the executable.
LV (given the appropriate development version) can compile the same source code into a Windows (using LV for Windows), Linux (using LV for Linux) or Mac (using LV for Mac) program.
This means you will still have three versions of your program, one for each platform.
If you want to distribute VIs (without block diagrams), you will also need different versions of these as without the block diagram, they cannot be re-compiled for a new platform.

Application exits with an exception code 0xc0020001 (with exit code as -1073740771)
I have a WPF application, which sometimes is exiting with an exit code of -1073740771. The issue is not occurring in any pattern and it's varying from system to system. In some system the issue is occurring for less that 10% of the total cases and
in other system I am seeing it occurring at a rate of almost 30% of the total cases. I haven't been able to form any solid repro steps and it seems to be happening at random.
The symptoms include that after I have clicked the close button, the application exits but in task manager I could still see the process lingering for about 20-40 seconds, and then in exits. The application seems to be shutting gracefully (from
a functional point of view) so it might not have much effect on customers using it, but the error code is getting logged in the logs which is pretty annoying.
This issue is also happening when I am debugging from Visual Studio, but no exception is getting caught in the try - catch block.
On analyzing the crash dump of the process (collected using Procdump) , its seen that an exception with code 0xc0020001
has occurred on thread 0, and the finalizer thread seems to be blocked. Any pointers to what might be causing the issue?Hi Pratik,
>>The symptoms include that after I have clicked the close button, the application exits but in task manager I could still see the process lingering for about 20-40 seconds, and then in exits
Have you used some native methods in your project, does it have some third-party references? In my experience, some third-party libraries causes this exception.
Because it's difficult to reproduce, I would suggest you making the following tests:
(1) Removing all native methods and third-party references
(2) If the above test has avoid this issue, I think you need to deep into the native methods or references
(3) If the above test still can't solve this issue, could you make a minimized demo without sensitive data for troubleshooting?

Windows 7 64bit Print spooler crash with Acrobat pro 9
i recently installed a new computer with windows 7 64 bit - also upgraded my old CS to CS 5. whenever trying to print any .pdf or even look at the .pdf printer settings - my print spoller crashes and i have to go into system32/spool to fix
has anyone seen this issue? If you would like to find which printer driver cause the crash issue, I suggest you isolate each driver and run
printing job. Please:
1. Open mmc in Start Search box.
2. Click File->Add/Remove snap-in
3. Add "Printer Management". Click Add "The Local Server".
4. Click Finish.
5. Expand Print Servers->[server name]. Click on Drivers.
6. Right-click on the first driver, choose "Set driver isolation"->"Isolated".
7. Start a printing job.
8. If the issue still occurs, change the isolation to System Default for this driver, then isolate the next driver
and start printing job.
You can find which driver is the root cause.
You need to involve a Windows 7 compatible driver for Windows 7 clients. If the driver is packed, you can extract
the driver pack and add the driver from printer server console. However, if the driver is included in an
installation file, you may try the following method.
1. Install the driver on one of the Windows 7 clients.
2. Launch mmc from Start Search box.
3. Click File->Add/Remove Snap-in.
4. Add "Printer Management". Point to the server in "Specify the printer server".
5. Expand "Printer Management"->"Printer Servers"->"Drivers".
6. Right-click, then click "Add a driver".
Please follow the instructions to add the Windows 7 printer driver. After doing so the driver should be added into
the server.
If the printer driver is not found, the driver should be not designed for enterprise environment. In this case you
may need to add the printer from the client side manually.

I am having problems with a BT Yahoo account where the home page opens but it will not let me open e-mail. When you click on mail it takes you to an upgrade page where there is a button for you to continue without upgrading. When you click on that it freezes. To compound this problem I cannot access the upgrade ststem on the Mac itself as it tells me there is an error. I am stuck on 10.3.9 as I purchased a 10.4 upgrade disk (official) ages ago but every time I ran it the computer crashed so I gave up on it. I still require classic on this machine on the odd occassion hence why I am stuck in the past. My iMac runs on 10.6.8 and the mail is accessable on that with no problem. HELP!!
Start up from that Mac OS X 10.4 disc you have. Insert disc in optical drive and start up with the C key held down. On the first Installer screen, from the menu bar, under Utilities, select to run Disk Utility.
In Disk Utility, select your startup volume (usually "Macintosh HD") in the sidebar and go to the First Aid tab. Run Verify Disk. If it reports a problem, that may be the reason for your long-term difficulties. You hard drive volume has data corruption.
You can try Repair Disk in Disk Utility. However, it would be a very good idea to have a backup of the data on that disk, in case the attempt to repair makes the problem worse. -
Windows 8.1 fails to boot with error code 0x5c after moving physical drives
Hi,
i just rearranged hard drives on my desktop PC. I removed 4 RAID drives, installed a single drive and reattached all drives into different SATA connectors on the motherboard.
After this, my PC doesn't boot. IT always fails with errorcode 0x5c. My OS is on SSD drive, which was not part of the RAID drive so it should boot up just fine - except it doesn't.
I've tried safe mode, I've tried starting with driver signature enforcement disabled - but it never does boot up properly.
What else do i do apart from reinstalling the OS?Hi,
This error 0x5c indicates that the HAL initialization failed. A hardware abstraction layer (HAL) is an abstraction layer, implemented in software, between the physical hardware of a computer and the software that runs on that computer.
It seems that the issue can be cause by interface compatible. Please enter BIOS and change SATA to AHCI to see what’s going on.
Also, I suggest you arrange your 4 RAID drives back to original SATA connector and connect the new single drive to another to check the results.
Hope this could be helpful.

Windows Server 2008 SP2 randomly reboots due to lsass.exe failed with status code 255
Hello,
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. I have an older Windows Server 2008 SP2 (I don't believe it is R2) (running SQL Server 2008 and SSRS 2008 on the machine) that is crashing randomly
during business hours. Looking into the event logs, I have found the following:
Faulting application lsass.exe, version 6.0.6002.18541, time stamp 0x4ec3ca01, faulting module msvcrt.dll, version 7.0.6002.18551, time stamp 0x4ee8d118, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00000000000011ad, process id 0x284, application start
time 0x01d066d9669a3e1c.
A critical system process, C:\Windows\system32\lsass.exe, failed with status code 255. The machine must now be restarted.
The process wininit.exe has initiated the restart of computer RIDEDB02 on behalf of user for the following reason: No title for this reason could be found
Reason Code: 0x50006
Shutdown Type: restart
Comment: The system process 'C:\Windows\system32\lsass.exe' terminated unexpectedly with status code 255. The system will now shut down and restart.
I found a Hot Fix for a similar issue (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2732595?wa=wsignin1.0), but it appeared to only be applicable to Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7.
A few hours later, the crash happened again, with a slightly different error:
The system process 'C:\Windows\system32\lsass.exe' terminated unexpectedly with status code -1073741819. The system will now shut down and restart.
Faulting application lsass.exe, version 6.0.6002.18541, time stamp 0x4ec3ca01, faulting module msvcrt.dll, version 7.0.6002.18551, time stamp 0x4ee8d118, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00000000000011ad, process id 0x284, application start
time 0x01d066fa9d74c5d7.
A critical system process, C:\Windows\system32\lsass.exe, failed with status code c0000005. The machine must now be restarted.
The security package Kerberos generated an exception. The exception information is the data
I have been unable to find a reason for these exceptions and the server rebooting. Any thoughts or ideas on how I can correct this error so it doesn't reboot our server again? .
Thank you,

Hi all,
I've a problem with windows shell, I've search through the entire forum database without success.
I need to return a custom exit code to the windows shell that is calling the Form Builder application (through Form Builder runtime). By this way I can determine from an another application (calling my forms through window shell) if I pressed one button or another.
How i can solve this problem?
I use Form Builder 6
Thanks a lotI need to open a Forms application from an HTML page and get a custom exit code from this application in order to use it in the HTML page.
With Javascript I call a shell function to start the forms application and ask to the HTML page to wait to the application exit code response.
The shell command I execute from Javascript is described bellow:
WshShell.run("c:\...\...\ifrun60.exe formname.fmx parametername=parameter",1,true)
where parameter identified a specific code that I've to send from HTML page to Forms application.
The page is waiting for application response. When I close the Forms application I receive the '0' code. What I need is to customize this exit code from my forms application.
Thanks to all
