RDL iview showing Null Pointer Exception

Hi,
I have integrated BI and Ep both are on SP 17.The FPN connection is successful and the copy and paste of producer content is also successful.But when i open the iview it is showing "Null Pointer Exception."
When i try the other  way round using RRA ,the remote roles are not visible in the identity management.
Thanks,
Adity.

  • Null Pointer Exception while configuring SAML Credential Mapper

    Hi,
    I am trying to set up my customised SAML code for WLS 10.3. To test it , I have created a standalone suite with 2 applications,one as a source where the authentication will be through simple username and password and second as destination where the identity assertion will take place based on token generated in first app.
    So to achieve this , I am using a default SAMLCredentialMapperV2 for credential mapping at source site. But While configuring it, the management tab of the credential mapper shows null pointer exception.
    Can anyone point out whats wrong or if I am missing on anything?
    Steps to create:-
    1. Create a security realm
    2.Goto security realm ->Provider ->Credential Mapping tab.
    3.Create a credential mapper of type SAMLCredentialMapperV2 and with specifications as mentioned in http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/entarch/sso-with-saml3-086457.html
    4. Click on the newly created mapper and go to management tab. It throws null pointer exception which is visible on the screen.

    I've got the same issue too.

    For every 10 seconds, I'm seeing 4 of these logs, and the CPU consumption is 100% consistently.

    Does anyone know what's happening? I've got one of the Security Provider = Active Directory, and thus there's no password returning. Could it be the root cause of the problem?

  • SAP Portal Display Documents is hanging with Null Pointer Exception

    Hi I am having problems with an iview from the products section of SAP standard iviews
    In my portal page I have the following three iviews, find documents, display master data and display documents both the find docs and display master data work great, but the display documents seems to hang and a java Null Pointer Exception shows in the data frame of IE.  It hangs up the whole page and I have to keep hitting back button to close the window and open.  I have the following in config for web front end
    DOC_OBJ is mapped to DOKAR, DOKNR, DOKVR and DOKTL with default set.
    DOC_REQ is set to DOKAR default checked
    EQUI_REQ is set to EQUI-EQUNR default checked
    This is under SIMG_SPORT -> products -> select data fields for web front end
    Am I missing something?
    Cheers,
    Devlin

    The following code is your problem:
    //-------construct
    public void MySlide()
      contents = new Tile[ROWS][COLS];
      reset();
    }Constructors don't return anything including void. Therefore you really aren't calling the above method as you assume in your main method as it is not a constructor. Remove the void keyword and your initializing code will execute properly.

    anyway to write the system.err to an html screen with
    a servlet?Why would you ask that? Surely you should have asked "Any way to write a stack trace to an HTML screen from a servlet?"
    And in fact there is. I am sure you have not yet looked up the Exception class and the versions of its printStackTrace() method. But when you do, you will see that there are printStackTrace(PrintStream) and printStackTrace(PrintWriter). And you know how to write HTML (or text in general) to the servlet response so that it shows up in the client's browser, right? I will let you figure out how to put those things together.

    objEP.show();

    Hello ppaulf,
    Your problem is in your ExtendedPage.java file. You can fix this by changing the line
    private JTextField objJTextField = null;to:
    private JTextField objJTextField = new JTextField();This creates a proper instance.
    Good luck,

        if (!isShow)
            panel.Visibility = Visibility.Collapsed;
        else
            panel.Visibility = Visibility.Visible;
    My problem :  child.FindName("HeaderPanel") as TabPanel return null
    =>  if (!isShow)
            panel.Visibility = Visibility.Collapsed;
        else
            panel.Visibility = Visibility.Visible;
    throws null pointer exception.
    Do you have any idea about this?
    Thanks.

    A lot I don't understand in here... actually, I don't understand anything in your post:
    When you call ShowDialog, what exactly are you trying to show?  The code is the decompiled showtabheader method of the viewer. So, are you trying to override the viewer control and reportalbum?  My guess is that the null reference is for the reportalbum's child object which is not the reportalbum object of the viewer.  I don't understand why the code since its all handled internally to the viewer anyhow.
    Perhaps searching the forum for code sample will help?

  • Null Pointer Exception Trying to Read File?

    I get a Null Pointer Exception when I try to perform the read hex2.txt, which i know exists and is in the same folder as this java file. Anyone see where my problem is?
    <code>
    import java.io.*;
    public class BytesToZeros
              int count = 0;
              int[] data;
              public static void main (String[] args)
                        BytesToZeros btz = new BytesToZeros();
              public BytesToZeros()
                        this.readFile();
                        this.writeFile();
              private void readFile ()
                        try
                                  FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream("hex2.txt");
                                  BufferedInputStream bis = new BufferedInputStream(fis);
                                  boolean eof = false;
                                  while (!eof)
                                            int input = bis.read();
                                            if (input == -1)
                                                 eof = true;
                                            else
                                                 data[count] = input;
                                                 count++;
                                  bis.close();
                        catch (IOException e)
                                  System.err.println("Error Reading File: " + e.getMessage());
                                  count = 0;
              private void writeFile ()
                        String zeros;
                        try
                                  FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream("hex2.txt");
                                  BufferedOutputStream bos = new BufferedOutputStream(fos);
                                  for (int i=0; i<data.length; i++)
                                            bos.write(0);
                                  bos.close();
                        catch (IOException e)
                                  System.err.println("Error writing file: " + e.getMessage());
    </code>

    Doesn't the stack trace you get show which line it was thrown from?
    That should tell you where the problem is.
    It's weird to do a file read and a file write in the constructor like that. It would make somewhat more sense to do
    public static void main (String[] args) {
      BytesToZeros btz = new BytesToZeros();
      btz.readFile();
      btz.writeFile();
    }Although I realize this is just a test.
    Finally, to quote code use square brackes around the code tags:
    &#91;code]&#91;/code]

  • Null Pointer Exception in DesktopPresentation Context

    Hi All,
    Here is what am looking for ..
    I have one portal with two pages and each page contains one portlet in it.. so i basically need to to show either Page 1 or page 2. But i dont have any actions performed so cant use events for this..
    So i tried using the backing file concept to hide pages. I created a backing file and mapped to the desktop level..
    I tried getting the DesktopPresentation Context but it gives me null pointer exception..Am using the following code inside my pre-render method..
    DesktopPresentationContext context=DesktopPresentationContext.getDesktopPresentationContext(request)
    System.out.println("Test:::"+context);
    Am getting null value in context..
    where request is HttpServletRequest
    please let me know where am going wrong..
    Regards,
    ANand

    Hi
    in later versions of BEA the presentation context is only made available in the render phase (hence you would get a NULL object) if you tried to access before the render phase (the earlier behavior was a bug).
    The OuterRequest is related to a concept known as scoping. If you have two independent portlets on a page and both use request.setAttribute("samekey", "value") (remember they are independent) then they would overwrite each others data. So the portal uses a HttpServletRequestWrapper which wraps the request and this is what you have access to - But it is troublesome to remember which API needs which one - usually you dont have to bother.
    DesktopBackingContext should have worked but if you plan to use it show / hide pages it needs to be in handlePostback(see lifecycle of backing files)
    Look up backing files and lifecycle methods in the documentation (time constraints prevent me from posting the links)
    These forum archives should also have snippets related to DesktopBackingContext

  • Null pointer exception in jserv.log

    Genius,
    I am facing weired exception "Null pointer exception" in jserv.log.
    Apps Login is showing "internal server error"
    I tried enabled debug log level in jserv.conf, httpd.conf, all logs are having Null pointer exception message. not able to trace exactly what is the issue.
    This is 11.5.10 env.
    Can anybody help me out?
    Thanks

    fyi. i am the apps dba of that env.
    Yes bounced many times, after making several setups. found that ATG RUP patch 4 screwed got applied, developers applied the patches directly, which screwed the env.
    now we are recloning the test env.
    thanks folks for your support.

  • Null pointer exception in the morning

    Hi all,
    I have built a custom JSP DYN page application that for the most part works ok. However, I've found on occassion that when I arrive in the morning, the application errors out in our dev and qa portal environments with a null pointer exception type error. The error info in the trace log file is below. I've found that if I redeploy a fresh copy of the application to the dev portal server, it makes the problem go away. In our QA environment, if I restart the portal the problem goes away. In other words, I'm not making any changes to the code to make the problem go away. It's like something has gone awry in the portal.
    The trace log file isn't really telling me anything significant. Maybe someone out there has heard of this problem and knows what I'm doing wrong.
    Here's the error info:

  • Null Pointer exception in fullscreen using active rendering

    When I create a window use it in fullscreen with active rendering, then close fullscreen, dispose the window and create an identical window wich I use in fullscreen again with active rendering I get a Null pointer exception. The exception happens in the active rendering loop of the second window. Why does this happen and how do I solve it?

    Hi,
    Please try to pass lookupEvent, LookupCodeColumn values as HashMap object. Try out the following.
    com.sun.java.util.collections.HashMap vMyParams = new HashMap();
    vMyParams.put("lookupEvent","update");
    vMyParams.put("lookupEvent",LookupCode);
    pageContext.setForwardURL("OA.jsp?
    page=/eis/oracle/apps/xxeis/central/admin/Lookups/webui /EISRSCLookupsCreatePG",
    null,
    OAWebBeanConstants.KEEP_MENU_CONTEXT,
    null,
    vMyParams , //*Here pass your HashMap object.*
    false,
    OAWebBeanConstants.ADD_BREAD_CRUMB_YES,
    OAWebBeanConstants.IGNORE_MESSAGES);
    No need to change the code in other CO as you can still continue with PageContext.getParameter("lookupEvent") etc..
    HTH,
    Syed.

  • Null pointer exception with ImageToBuffer.create(........)

    I'm trying to draw two lines on received video frames so I implemented an effect that takes a frame then :
    frame = Buffer -> Image -> BufferedImage -> draw lines -> Image -> Buffer ( Problem ).
    the problem is in converting the Image back to Buffer in order to assign it as the Effect outcome buffer ( which will be showed ), the process function code is as followed :
    BufferToImage bti;
    ImageToBuffer itb;
    public int process(Buffer inBuffer, Buffer outBuffer)
    Object data = inBuffer.getData();
    if (bti == null)
    bti = new BufferToImage( (VideoFormat) inBuffer.getFormat());
    Image image = bti.createImage(inBuffer);
    if (image != null)
    Graphics2D g = bImage.createGraphics();
    g.drawImage(image, null, null);
    g.drawLine(160, 0, 160, 240);
    g.drawLine(0, 120, 320, 120);
    if (itb == null)
    itb = new ImageToBuffer();
    Image i = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().createImage(bImage.getSource());
    if (b == null)
    b = new Buffer();
    b = itb.createBuffer(i, 15); ///causes null pointer exception
    if (b != null)
    inBuffer.setData(outBuffer.getData());
    outBuffer.setData(b.getData());
    else
    inBuffer.setData(outBuffer.getData());
    outBuffer.setData(data);
    // Copy the input attributes to the output
    outBuffer.setFormat(inBuffer.getFormat());
    outBuffer.setLength(inBuffer.getLength());
    outBuffer.setOffset(inBuffer.getOffset());
    return BUFFER_PROCESSED_OK;
    Any solutions for the problem.
    Thank you for replying in advance..

  • [svn] 3779: Continue fix for BLZ-262: null pointer exception on redeploy of web app/servlet.

    Revision: 3779
    Author: [email protected]
    Date: 2008-10-21 10:23:55 -0700 (Tue, 21 Oct 2008)
    Log Message:
    Continue fix for BLZ-262: null pointer exception on redeploy of web app/servlet.
    Remove finally block in servlet init() as the call to destroy() in the catch block will clear ThreadLocals
    if there is an error. Move it to the end of try block instead since the init() thread doesn't need any
    thread locals set.
    Log the startup error before calling destroy() in init() catch clause.

    Hello!
    I had a similar problem under WebLogic 6.1 SP4 after deploying a war-file with
    a bug.
    After deploying the corrected file, it seemed that the old version was deployed
    again.
    Perhaps this behaviour will help you to load the new application/ejb:
    - undeploy
    - remove from targets
    - move to targets
    - deploy

    hi all,
    i have found a werid problem in deploying applications in Solaris 8
    for weblogic
    7.0.
    i have deployed one EJB, and the first time i access it (thru teh web
    app embedded
    in the .ear) it gave me a null pointer exception because i was failing
    to lookup
    one environment variable.
    so, i fix the code, rebuild the ear and redeployed, and the same error
    happened
    again.
    i am sure i did not do any mistakees because i have put some system.err
    statements
    in the bean code to show the workflow, and when i have deployed it on
    Window 2k
    the statemens appeared.
    but in solaris they didnot appear, and i got the same exception that
    i had before..
    it looks like wls is caching teh ejb, because whenever i redeploy it
    (adding more
    and more system.err statements) it always execute the faulty code of
    when deployed
    the very first time.
    anyone can help?
    regards
    marco
