All my contacts are receiving s weird mail that I have not sent. Is it avirus?

I need to determine if the problem is local - if some evil thing is now living in my computer - waiting for its next chance to act - or if it was a server-password hack of some sort.     Okay guys...so...
    I Macscanned my entire User's file, (took hours, but not knowing which specific folders could be infected, I figured it better to take no chances!) and no spyware activity was found. From what I'm gathering here, and with the scanning I've done, I'm now believing that the problem is remote and not local... I'm hoping that the new PW alone prevents that from happening again. I do use Word... and every now and then accept Word file attachments, but they generally come from Film productions with a pretty tight network. As far as social networking goes, I have profiles on a few (only for business networking) and in general, stay uninvolved with the entire online social scene - so I surely haven't contracted anything from that corner...
    So I'm carefully considering this prob solved... although because of Klaus's tip on using Network Utility, I can now post the pathway (for one of the many assorted links that went out) here... just in case it says something obvious that can further help.
    Another point: I myself received no spam-mail from me...and I don't use Address Book - if this offers any further clues..
    The scans were important, because next week I'll FW my iBook's content to my new MBP, and I surely didn't want to infect my much-looked-forward-to new Mac experience!

  • How to disable message images in Mail app for all but contacts?

    I use the Mail app for OS X Mavericks and have been inundated with spam lately. I understand that spam email campaigns can confirm that you have opened their mail (and subsequently continue to send you mail) by image tracking so I would like to disable images from showing for all except my contacts. I don't recall if it was with Mail or another email client I previously used, but I vaguely remember message images not showing by default and requiring you to click a button at the top of the message in order to show the images within it. If possible, I would like to be able to do this for non-contacts.
    So my question is: how can I disable images from showing, by default, in messages from non-contacts within the Mail app?
    If there is no way to do this, can someone suggest an alternative email client for Mac OS that does allow this? I am willing to change if this feature does not exist within the Mail app.

    Personally, I've never heard of spammers tracking by a contact's image. I think you might be confusing this with the images in the message.
    Spammers can do two things to track you.
    1) Send an email with a read receipt. Mail doesn't support read receipts
    2) Send an email with an embedded image (sometimes called a bug or beacon). When the email is opened, the email software loads the image from the remote server by sending it an HTTP request.
    If a message matches the junk mail criteria, then a bar will appear near the top of the message. External images in the message will automatically be disabled, so that spam authors won’t be able to track if you’ve opened the message. To load the images, click the “Load Images” button in the bar, or to mark the message as not junk, select “Not Junk.”
    Mail > Preferences > Viewing >Uncheck Display remote images in HTML messages.
    Enable Junk filtering in Mail Preferences. Check "sender in in contacts, sender in in previous recipients**, message is addressed using full name.
    Use SpamSieve, third party product to filter spam, http://c-command.com/spamsieve/
    Keep contacts in your Address Book.
    Mark messages as junk to help train the junk filter.
    Don't open a message you think is spam. You should be able to see enough of a message in the preview to know if it's spam.
    ** Open Previous Recipients under Window in the Menu bar. Remove any addresses from spammers.

    ok, got you. you really should keep your address book up to date. that makes it much easier to manage your email.
    in Mail go to window menu->previous recipients list. you can select some or all of those contacts and click 'add to address book". note that if you select everything this will add all emails you ever sent email to to the address book.
    but if there are some emails in the inbox that you never sent an email to those need to be added to address book one by one.
    also, since you mentioned thousands of emails, note what I said in my first email. I'm pretty sure that no email provider in the world will allow you to send an email to thousands of recipients at once.

    You might want to consider starting a new discussion. Since this one is marked solved, less people are likely to look at it. You can link to this one.
    You create the group in Address Book/Contacts. You shouldn't add contacts without e-mail addresses. In a new e-mail, you enter the group name in the To field.

    Open a new message in Mail and enter all your contacts in the 'TO' field. You may want to create a group first with the contacts so you wouldn't have to enter all the names separately. You can also send the message to yourself and BCC everyone; that way the recipient only sees their own email address.
    Thost methods would most likely be appreciated by most recipients since it is not very safe to expost everyone's email address to others, some of whom may be strangers and should not have access to others' email addfress.

    we're in a SUS-MM scenario and we publish Purchasing documents (PO and/or SAR) to SUS portal.
    The notification mail for new published documents are sent only to the e-mail address of the Supplier (imported from SAP to SUS) which is in the SAP Supplier Master data. But if the Admin supplier creates other users for the supplier (F1 / F2 / F3), the notification mail for new published PO/SAR are not sent to the mail address of F1 / F2 / F3 users. Is it the standard behavior or is there some missing customizing setting missing?
    Our customer wants that notification mail are sent to all the mail addresses of the Supplier Users.
    Has someone had this kind of requirement? and, if it is not achievable via standard customizing, which could be the right solution to meet this requirement?

    This is a standard SAP process which SAP has provided,
    The other way is to develop a custom program,
    1) Select the Supplier.
    2) Check the available contact persons of the Supplier.
    3) When a document is created in ECC (Hope you are in MM-SUS), select the list of contact persons for Supplier. (I assume need a RFC FM to develop to SUS)
    4) Send a e-mail to all users linked with this Supplier.
    You can find the linked Contact persons in BP transaction and Table BUT000.
    Please change the Status of the Issue once your problem solved, other will get benefitted. If possible post the soulution.

    When you first create an Apple ID (using your email address) a verification email will be sent to that address. If you sign in to your Apple ID from the link in that email, the email address will be verified as the primary email address for your Apple ID. You can also resend the email verification if the email address is not verified:
    1. Sign in to My Apple ID to manage your account information.
    2. Click Resend under Primary Email Address.
    3. Verify your changes by following the link in the email you will receive from Apple and signing back in to your account.

    you can do it if you're not using JMS - by using the native API for the messaging product.
    otherwise - I think you can't do it.

  • ALL e-mail SENT since 28 Oct FAILED. Is this a SMP...

    I use BT Yahoo e-mail and Outlook 2003. No problems whatsoever until yesterday when a client advised that he'd not received a couple of e-mails. I re-sent them and all looked fine. The pop-up box confirmed Send/Receive complete & the e-mail moved from Outbox to Sent Mail.
    First thing this morning I sent myself a test e-mail from Outlook and again it seemed OK. The test though didn't appear (8 hours later) in my In-box. I then logged onto my BT e-mail a/c via the webpage to see if my mail had got that far; but discovered that BT Yahoo Internet's homepage had moved and that BT claimed they were "changing the way e-mail worked". I therefore wondered if this mightn't be linked to my problem. Further reading showed that BT had signed-up to some anti-spam initiative and that "IF YOUR CLIENT DOES NOT SUPPORT THE SMTP AUTHENTICATION YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE IT TO SEND BT YAHOO MAIL". The website offered a link to automatically check and fix my client settings, but Outlook 2003 wasn't on the list of clients supported.
    I checked my Outlook e-mail account settings manually and found the "my outgoing server (SMPT) requires authentication" box already checked. I even unchecked the "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" box and re-entered my user name and password. But still the same problem. All Sent mail LOOKS normal but isn't being delivered if sent using Outlook. TO BE CLEAR - e-mail sent from the BT Internet webpage is fine
    The incoming and outgoing server details and the port settings all look fine (POP3/port 110 & SMTP Server/port 25)
    Any ideas, anybody???

                                                                      what i have did is, created a multiple condition and then based on the inv amount assigned 3 methods for invoice posting.My problem is if a person posts an invoice amount of 1000.A mail has to be sent to Person B and C informing that an amount of 1000 is posted with user id.Same for person B, ie mail should be sent to person A and C informing regarding invoice posting.Now inside the multiple condition i cannot assign mail step.Coz based on the condition it will go to a particular user for invoice posting but where as mail should be sent to all the users.So how can i achieve this??.

    I am getting 1 thing why you need need multiple conditions. No need to create any multiple conditions.
    1. Create a rule using transaction PFAC. (you can use the example as Rule: 0000168).
        a. Create an function module with table parameters as ACTOR_TAB (type SWHACTOR) and AC_CONTAINER (Type
            SWCONT). You can aswell copy the FM used in 168 rule and change it. check the logic mentioned below.
        b. In PFAC transaction, go to container tab and create 2 container elements.  For amount and Mail_indicator (type should be
            same as that of the amount field in your workflow) .
    2. Use this Rule in your workflow to send mail.

    I sync contact on my iPhone 5S ios 7.0.4 with four sources :
    - icloud
    - Outlook.com (Hotmail) - my private mail
    - Exchage - my work mail
    - Facebook
    When a conctact in present on Hotmail and on Exchange, the contact appears once on the iPhone and it's correcty linked but when I want to send a SMS or an e-mail, the message is not sent to the correct number.
    For example a contact (John Smith) is present on Hotmail and on Exchange with the following information
    Exchange :
    Name : John Smith
    Work phone : 1234
    Work mail : [email protected]
    Hotmail :
    Name : John Smith
    Mobile : 7890
    Work phone 1234
    Private mail : [email protected]
    Work mail : [email protected]
    The linked contact on the iPhone looks like :
    Name : John Smith
    Mobile : 7890
    Work phone 1234
    Private mail : [email protected]
    Work mail : [email protected]
    If I want to send a SMS to the Mobile of the contact following this procedure, the SMS is sent to the work phone
    1) Open Mesage app
    2) Click on new message
    3) Click [+] to open contact list
    4) Choose "John Smith"
    5) Choose Mobile phone
    6) Type the message
    7) Click "Send"
    The SMS is sent to Work phone
    If I use anothe procedure, the SMS is sent correctly to the mobile :
    1) Open Mesage app
    2) Click on new message
    3) Type "John Smith" into the "To" zone
    4) Choose "John Smith Mobile"
    5) Type the message
    6) Click "Send"
    Same problem with e-mail address in the mail application.
    If a contact is only present in one source (not linked) there is no problem.
    I think it' a bug in linking contacts.

    I don't think so. When i open the Exchange contact on the iPhone (Contact --> Linked --> Exchange) the work number is not tagged as mobile end there is no message icon next to the phone number.
