Hi Gurus,
Can any one help me out how can I be able to print the counter of invoice details for a check in the output of the report.
I am having a report where there are 2 repetitive frames one for check number and other for invoice number.
--> After every check printed its invoice details are printed. Beside the invoice details for the first invoice it should print 01 and for the second 02 and so on.
--> For a new check number the counter should start from 01,02...
Can any one please help me out in this.

is the "detail" frame based on a separate query, in this case you could just select the number in your query like

Yes, you can get them. For row count, you can add a parameter to store the row count of your dataset in your report.
Here are the steps:
1. Add 2 datasets in your report, one for report use and the other on is to row count use. For instance:
DataSet1: SELECT HumanResources.vEmployee.* FROM HumanResources.vEmployee
DataSet2: SELECT COUNT(*) FROM HumanResources.vEmployee
2. Add a parameter, set the parameter’s default value set to Get Values from a query and select DataSet2.
Then, in your ASP.NET web application code you can use the following function to get the row count of the report:

return Convert.ToInt32(report.ServerReport.GetParameters()[0].Values[0].ToString());
For page count, you can refer to the following code:
private int GetReportPageCount(ReportViewer report)
return report.ServerReport.GetTotalPages();
You may not get the correct row count and page count in after executing Refresh () method, that’s because when you run this method, it will start another thread to refresh the report and the code below Refresh () method will not wait refreshing complete but run it. For instance, you may get the page count as o if you run the following code in the Button event:

Problem in Getting Count answer for the report in OBIEE 11g..

I created a report in OBIEE 11g, but i'm not getting the correct answer as i expected...I'm getting answer in presentation services but the answer is wrong..
I'll explain to you with an example report: Suppose in the report "NATIONALITY COUNT IN DEPARTMENT WISE" manner
i dragged the Nationality column from per_all_people_f which is dim table and i dragged the column that i applied aggregation rule "count" for the column "nation count" from per_all_assignments_f which is fact table......If i viewed answers means i'm getting correct answer
(i.e.) nation count per Nationality..........
NATIONALITY<---------------------->NATION COUNT
AUSTRALIA 40
INDIA 20
AFRICA 10
USA 5
The above is the answer I'm getting with out including the department column from hr_all_organization_units...........
But since according to the report i need count in department wise manner, so for that along with nationality and nation count column i dragged department column from hr_all_organization_units which is dim table and also i hide that column as i dont want to view the department column in answers..........
If i clicked answers, means then I'm not getting the nation count for the nationality......... I'm getting the answer 0 for each and every nationality, if i included the hided department column

you said about writing query in DB.......whether U meant of trying checking the query in toad..or something else..........
Since im giving only one join from dim to fact in the physical diagram........
But more than one join exist between those dim and fact, but im giving only one join mainly the primary key column of the dimension table to the fact table....Whether i need to give all the joins that exist(even if it has 2 or 3 joins between those fact and dim) tables....
If i give count distinct means it is giving count for every nation as 1....like i mentioned below

Dynamic Counter in BEx Report to count the drilldown line item.
Hi,
I have a requirement to show the count of different parts in a report. For example the report,
Part Number Costs
100 200 $
and if you drill down from the part number to line item details, you will get,
Item Number Costs
10 50 $
20 50 $
30 50 $
40 50 $
So basically Part Number 100 is consists of 4 Item numbers. Now I want to show original report like this,
Part Number Costs Counter
100 200 $ 4
Is there any way I can catch that counter, like how many line item is there per Part Number ?
I am thinking of 2 ways, Virtual key Figure to calculate this or in alternate if possible use the Classification extractor (not sure if it possible to count the number of items per classification extractor though).
Is there any better or simpler way to deal this without changing the cube structure ?

How to get the Report Page count using crystal reports 2008
Hi,
I have to implement a business logic where in i will have to display the no. of pages generated for the report
Say for e.g. crytal report that's generated spans 25 pages in the report.
Then i will have to display a message to the user after the report generation something like "25 Pages generated"
So, how would i get this report page count so that i can fetch the value and display the same to the user.
Any sample code snippet would be of great help.

I am using crystal reports 2008 and i visited the link forwarded in your previous mail and got the solution for getting the lastpagenumber of the report.
nPages = crReport.FormatEngine.GetLastPageNumber(New CrystalDecisions.Shared.ReportPageRequestContext)
but, i don't find FormatEngine property for ReportDocument object.
I just wanted to know whether this property is availale in crystal reports 2008 or should i even install any service packs for this.

I have the following reporting requirement.Can anybody please provide me the solution.
Data in the cube
User id Accounting Doc No Lineitem Amount
abc1 10001 001 100

Requirement:
The report output shuold look like this

I got the count of No of accounting documents.For lineietms I am unable to Get the count.
The system is version BI7.0

Part A:
I've done some restating of the question, and distributed the calculations among several fields, not all of which need to be included on the visible layout. Other than formatting the Date fields and moving the 'Completed Date' field and its label, I've left this in the default "Layout 1" produced by AppleWorks.
Field List:
Priority: Popup menu with six items: 00, J, D, 1, 2, 3 Defaults to 00
TL (time limit in months): Calculation: CHOOSE('Priority',0,1,3,4,6,12)
Received: Date. Option: Automatically insert today's date (ie. Date Record created) (may be edited)
Target Date: Calculation:
DATE(YEAR('Received')+INT(MONTH('Received')+'TL')/12,MOD(MONTH('Received')+'TL', 12),DAY('Received'))
Remaining (Days): Calculation: INT('Target Date'+1-NOW()) (see revision below)
Completed: Checkbox. Set default value to Unchecked.
Completed Date: Date: Entered manually
OnTarget: Calculation: IF('Completed',IF('Completed Date'<'Target Date',"On Target","Over"),IF(INT(NOW())>'Target Date',"Over","On Target"))
The On Target field shows the current status of the case while still open, and the state on the closing date when it was closed.
Having done that, I was unhappy with the Remaining field continuing to calculate an ever larger negative number after the case had been closed. Hence this revision below:
Remaining: Calculation: IF('Completed','Target Date'-'Completed Date',INT('Target Date'+1-NOW()))
Shows the number of days remaining while the case is open, the days remaining at completion if the case has been marked Completed and the completion date entered.
Rsults (and some further formatting of the Layout) below.
Part B:
You will need Subsummary parts when sorted on Completed and on On Target. Fields can appear on a Layout only once, so each subsummary part will need a separate Summary type field for each field to be summarized.

How to Get the Total Page Count in XML Reports?
Hi All,
we have a requirement where we have to print Page X of Y(Total Page Count of the document).
But whenever my header group resets the total count is also reseting.
for e.g.
I m getting the page 1 of 4, page 2 of 4, page 3 of 4, page 4 of 4 for my first record.
same way i am getting page 1 of 3 ,page 2 of 3, page 3 of 3 for my second record.
But the requirement is to display page 1 of 7, page 2 of 7, page 3 of 7, page 4 of 7 for the first header record.
And page 5 of 7, page 6 of 7 and page 7of 7 for the second record.
Is there any way to achieve this?

Can not refresh data int the report...
Application on C#.
Steps:
1. Get Report without data from the database
2. Change the dataconnections in report to the current user
3. refresh data on the report (FilePath = TempFilePath)
4. Resave report file with data
5. Automatically open CrystalReportsViewer2008 and load the report
Result
On developer machine is allright, but on the user machine data isn't refreshed. Therefore CrysrtalReportsViewer2008 can't open report. It say that check the SaveDatawithReport parameter.
In process I found that in temp directory on user pc, didn't creates some temprorary files which creates on developer PC. Why? Help me please.

I am not able to launch FF everytime i try to open it, it says FF has to submit a crash report,and restore yr tabs. I even tried doing that and the report was submitted too, but still FF did not start, and the problem still persists, please help me solve this issue

I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce the issue, the issue caused by you are using the count() function in the incorrect way, please modify the expression as below and have a test:
=COUNT(IIF(Fields!TICKET_STATUS.Value=4 ,1,Nothing))
or
=SUM(IIF(Fields!TICKET_STATUS=4,1,0))

Error while generating the report on Test env (for divide condition)
Hi All,
I am facing the below error while generating the report in test environment while the same report is working fine on Prod environment.

Actually the error is coming for the below logics:
COUNT(DISTINCT RMA.RMA)/COUNT(DISTINCT User."User Name")
"RMA Fact"."Module Backlog"/COUNT(DISTINCT User."User Name")
Can anyone please tell if I need to make any configuration changes as the same logic works perfectly fine on production but not on test.
