Re: Disappearing changes in Repository

Geoffrey,
We have run into this problem as well. It seemed to happen when we checked out
some components edited them, saved the workspace multiple times, and then later
in the same Forte session received a "Hose 15 Error" which makes the workspace
read only. If we then exit the Forte session and start a new one, our changes
are
still there, but after we integrate that workspace the next time, the changes
will be
lost (just like you described). We also noticed that after the "Hose" error,
another
developer in a different workspace is able to check out the same components!
We have reported this to Forte tech support, but it is very hard to duplicate...
Good luck,
Derk
Hi fellow Forte users,
Recently I came across a most troubling event with Forte's repository change
management.
There were changes made to some components and afterwards the command to
integrate these changes was invoked. Seems pretty straight forward... Forte
popped up the ever-familiar "Integration successful" and the log even boasts
that the changes were successfully integrated. Immediately thereafter the
workspace was deleted since it was no longer needed.
However, when one tries to retrieve these components that were "successfully
integrated" the integrated changes are no longer there. All the work that
was done and 'successfully integrated' is gone!!
Even though the repository sometimes creeps close to a GIG of allocated disk
space I wouldn't think that this should be a problem since change management
reliability must never be compromised under any circumstances. The server
where the Forte repository resides has enough free hard disk space.
Has anyone encountered a problem like this?
Take care,
Geoff Whittington

  • Changes to repository not permitted

    Hi
I installed SAP ides 4.7 recently. I created a new user becuse DDIC doesnot allow us to do any changes or customizations. Then i tried to create a new program or change with ABAP editor it is giving me an error says that" Changes to repository or cross-client customization is not permitted".
what does it mean and what should i do to create new ABAP program and execute.
And also can any one pl let me know how to clear the user varibles in logon screen.
Is there any other existing user which i can use for login and create new ABAP programs like universal user or something.
    I am new to ABAP.
    Thanks alot
    Madhu

Then i tried to create a new program or change with ABAP editor it is giving me an error says that" Changes to repository or cross-client customization is not permitted". what does it mean and what should i do to create new ABAP program and execute.
It means that the client is not set up for changing/creating independent objects. ABAP program is client independent/cross client object. To fix this issue, Go to SPRO and client management (Guess, transaction SCC4) . You can change option here to make changes to cross client objects. Look for SAP help if you need more detailed info.
Also I guess, IDES used to have standard user ids for Developer, Basis and other activities. Check the installation manual or SU01D for other user details. Check the user id 'DEVELOPER'. Otherwise you may endup with requirement of Developer Key.
    Thanks

  • Error Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permitted

    Hi
While creating infoset in SQ02 it is giving an error as "Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permitted"
I did change the SE06 system change options , software components modifiable.
And I also changed the objects changebility in transport connections in RSA1. But still it is giving the same error.....
Can you please let me know the solution?
    Thanks

I'm assuming that you're creating a custom InfoCube query, so does it give you the option of creating as a Local Object (package $TMP) or one of your custom, transportable packages? Basically it's determining whether you want this InfoSet Query to be a Local Object or if you plan on transporting it throughout the landscape.
One other thing that I wanted to point out about security. SAP_ALL doesn't necessarily mean access to anything and everything. There are cases where the Authorizations assigned to an SAP_ALL Authorization Object don't necessarily have all of the correct assigned Activity for every transaction. Security, in your case, doesn't seem to be the problem because you're getting this request to assign a package.

  • Changing EM Repository Listener Port

In case that an instance running already on the host, how can I do if I want to
install an new EM Repository instance on the same host without no stopping
the existing listener which is used 1521 port. The default EM Listener Port is
    1521, you know.
I know the procedure changing EM Repository Listener Port after Installation
Repository, but I am not sure before Installation.
    Anybody knows about that problem?
    Thank you.

I have got it from "EM GC Installation and Basic Configuration.pdf"
If you'd like to change the ports before EM installation, you just edit the follow file.
Disk1/stage/Response/staticports.iniAnd then you can confirm the installed ports through the follow file.
    ORACLE_HOME/install/portlist.iniThank you.

  • How to change work repository internal ID

Is it possible to change the ID of existing work repository. Or a new work repository has to be created to get a new different ID.

About Master repo : - between 2 env. you must have exact ID and version of all master repo objects.
About work rep : When you create a new repository via TOPOLOGY you can set your own ID (ex :7).
->assume you have an old version of rep ID=5.
->assume you ll create a new one (yours) ID=7
    Then you can import :
    - with insert method to put old MODEL you want to keep some dev (MODEL, version will end with...5)
    - with duplicate metod if not : to use a old MODEL version but update the (version will end with ...7)
    Therefore, it's possible to :
    - to push (update) devlpt from old w repo (5) to be updated from the old to the new one (cause the version is ...5) by INSERT_UPDATE
    - to push (update) devlpt from new w repo (7) to be updated from the old to the old one (cause the version is ...7) by INSERT_UPDATE
    - to maintain a MODEL change form one Master and impact to the other
    - NOT to Merge one change on a model and another change on the same model (other work repo)

  • Changing content repository for external archiving:

Recently my company is in the process of transitioning from one document archiving server to another.  We configured a new content repository in our system, and then I used transaction OACT to change the content repository for the category of documents that I am working with.
This appeared to work well on development,  old documents on the server A were still accessible,  newly created documents were archiving succesfully to server B.
The problem arose when I attempted to transport my change to the QA server.  It seems that when a change to a content repository field is made in transaction OACT the transports do not contain a change to that field, so I cannot change it in QA.
The following entries are created in my transport:
    IMG Activity  Define Content Categories
         View Maintenance: Data
             V_SDOKSTCA
                 SDOKSTCAE
                 SDOKSTCAT
                 SDOKSTCDSP
I can change the Document Area,  but the content repository field is not included in the transport.  Has anyone else run into this when migrating between archving servers?

It seems that it isn't a good idea to change the content repository for this type of object once a system has gone live.  I'm planning to have all of the documents previously archived migrated to the new server and once that occurs I'll edit this field directly in production...
If anyone has a better suggestion please let me know.

  • Changing Content repository

    Hi,
i am a basis consultant and i have got a request from the CRM team that they do not want some heavy documents to be saved in to the SAP Database as that will dramatically increase the size of the database. i was able to set up a trace and found tha the content was trying to save into the repository table BDS_CONT1 of the Cont repository BDS_DB. i checked the transaction OAC0 and figured there is an option of changing redirecting the content from SAP Database to a Archive link.
has anyone ever tried this before and if yes, can you guide me what needs to be kept in mind. any documents or help links.
    regards
    Yogesh

Well yes, here is what i did.
    . installed a content server(commonstore from IBM)
. from transaction OAC0, you create a new Z repository and point it to archivelink Content server above.
. Change all tables and config to save attachments to the new Z repository.
you may need to use tracing to find the contents being used

  • For apply a note, I need change a repository object in the workbench

    Hello,
For apply a note  852688 for the minisap WAS ABAP 6.40, I need change a object repository , I inserted the number 29671482393151224771 but This message is displayed  "Incorrect Enter" .This number 29671482393151224771 appears in the page  "Licensing Procedure for the Mini SAP System". Somebody can tell me what is the number in the WAS 6.40 ABAP for change a object repository?

29671482393151224771 is a developer key which is to be used with the sneak preview or minisap.  It is not an object registration key.   In other to obtain object registration key, you need to go to service.sap.com and register the object.  They will then give you a key, you enter this key as the access key in the dialog when trying to change a standard object.
I'm not sure if you can do this for NSP systems or not.
<b>How to get a access key for objects....
to to service.sap.com, click SAP support portal, enter your "S" number and password,  click Keys & Requests, click SSCR keys, click registration,  click register object radiobutton, click your installation number, enter the data.</b>

  • Buttons in Encore CS6 are disappearing/changing color in preview and on DVD

Running Encore CS6 on Mac OSX Snow Leopard 10.6.8
I have everything in Encore running smoothly, the only problem is I've laid out the buttons (created from text in Photoshop CS6) and when I go to preview the DVD menu the Buttons will go white, partially disappearing - a vague outline of some is available.
Below is the image as it should appear - this is how it was designed and how it shows up in the Encore viewer window
And Here is how the image is showing up when I try to preview or when it is burned to a DVD. Note that the Images that are not buttons have no problem and stay the same - it's only the ones made into buttons that are the issue.
After browsing other Adobe forums it was suggested to change the (=1) next to the button in photoshop to (=2) or (=3), I tried this and it did nothing.
I don't know how common this issue is, but hopefully I can get some help with this issue.
    Thanks.

Same here!  I found this very confusing link below which gives me files that won't open in the recommended  7-zip and gives errors in winzip. I can find some menus, but not the old ones such as the wedding menus that I used to have with CS5.5.
I'm not even sure what the 'premiereproCs6content' files are supposed to provide. Regardless the executables within it creates errors, when I try to run it.
Can somebody let me know where I can find those missing menus?, or give me a logical process to make this work? I'm on downloadable CS6 master collection. Thanks, Andy

  • Changing OWB Repository Password

    Hi,
We are using OWB 10.1 version with Oracle 9.2. We maintain 3 repository users like OWB Designer, OWB RUN USER and OWB RUN OWNER. Whenever we get password expiry warning, our mappings fail and get aborted.
As a part of the security policy, repository passwords will be changed regularly. We would like to know the implications of change in the repository passwords,
whether we need to re-deploy the mappings, process flows or any other thing to be
taken care specifically whenever it is changed.
Please give all the details, suggestions related to this and what is the normal
industry practice on this, thank you.
    Regards,
    Deva

Change password of OWB Repository Owner
The user password can be directly changed in the database using the following sql
alter user <owb repository owner> identified by <password>
Change password of Runtime Repository Owner
Warehouse Builder has a specific procedure to do this for the runtime repository user. The steps are below:
    1. Logon to the runtime repository using the old password.
    2. Run script <owb home>/owb/rtp/sql/stop_service.sql
    3. alter user <repository owner> identified by <new password>
    4. Run script <owb home>/owb/rtp/sql/set_repository_password.sql
    5. When prompted, specify the new password
    6. Run script <owb home>/owb/rtp/sql/start_service.sql
There are no additional steps for Runtime Access User (but if this user is used for starting mapping/processes in scheduling jobs then modified password should be updated in scheduling scripts - this depends on scheduler used)
We dont have to do any deployments for the password changes.
