Re-Distributable for Acrobat

Can anybody help me regarding this problem:
We have installed acrobat and our application uses some acrobat functionality like generating pdf from MS Word Doc, Merging several PDF into one final PDF etc. Our application is in VB 6 and we are using following code style to do jobs related creating pdf etc.
Set AcroApp = CreateObject("AcroExch.App")
Set PDDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.PDDoc")
Set InsertPDDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.PDDoc")
Now we are having problem when we are deploying our application to our clients. Our client needs to buy the acrobat to use our application and that's what the problem is. Our client does not want to install acrobat.
1. Is there any way we can deploy only required dlls when we deploy our application ?
2. If so, is there any licensing restriction ? or can we buy some SDK / dll files which has license to re-distribution ?
Any prompt help would be highly appriciated..

You should post this to the Acrobat forum. Most of the folks here know little of scripting Acrobat.

  • Cost for Enabling Plug-in for Acrobat Reader

    Hi,
I read the developer note and noticed if I want to enable my plug-in for Acrobat Reader I need "Visit the Adobe web site and fill out an Adobe Reader Integration Key License Agreement."
I heard the cost is 100 US dollars per license. I am a bit confuse with it. The cost is $100 for each plug-in no matter how many copies I distributed in company. Or $100 for each computer I want to install my plug-in?

    Hello,
my question is also related to the integration of our plugin into Acrobat Reader.
I fulfilled the application form for the Reader Integration Key License Agreement and I sent an email to [email protected] but I received an error that is the email account doesn't exist.
I didn't manage to find a valid account where I can send the form.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards.

  • Can't Distribute Forms - Acrobat Standard 9.5.5

We have recently upgraded our last XP user to a new computer with Windows 7 Pro SP1.
She uses Acrobat to create forms for our customers to fill out.
Using Acrobat 9 to distribute forms on XP for a few years no problem. On Win 7, when we go to distribute on Acrobat, absolutely nothing happens.
I have tried a complete reinstall, removing all settings etc. Acrobat is up to date, and so is Windows.
I have recorded the problem with a completely new blank form. No signatures, certificates etc.

Try uninstalling using the Acrobat Cleaner tool and then reinstalling.

  • Subscription for Acrobat Pro

I purchased one subscription for Acrobat Pro and now I need to add additional subscriptions for other computers in our office.  How do I do that?

    Hi ap2411,
Please see this section of the FAQ:
I am a small business owner and want to distribute the subscription products to my employees. Is there any way to do that?
If you own a business and need multiple subscriptions to get your team up and running, you can purchase, download, and install each subscription product with a unique Adobe ID. Each user needs a unique Adobe ID and password, which are used to buy the subscription.
You'll want to sign up for each user using a unique Adobe ID/email address, as each subscription is tied to a unique ID.
    Best,
    Sara

  • Medical device licensing for Acrobat Reader

Adobe states, in EULA for Acrobat reader version 9, the following:
    Quoted
You will not use any Adobe Runtime on any non-PC device or with any embedded or device version of any operating system. [...Examples...] You may not use it on ... kiosk, medical devices...
    This is the question:
I need to use Acrobat Reader on a "medical" device that is controlled by a Panel PC with OS Windows XP Professional. This is just a simple controller and has no contact with patients and has no life substainig applications. I don't need to distribute Acorbat Reader with interface software, but, if needed, it must be called from command line (the program is downloaded and installed by final user).
I don't understand if I need special licensing, since it is installed on a common operating system, not developed for particular applications. Such examples are applicable only when OS is embedded or customized for control devices or this regulation is mandatory also for this kind of application?
In case I need special licensing, what should I do? Are there any fees?
    Thanks.

I just received an auto-update for Reader on
my Droid phone. The new SEARCH function is very much
    appreciated and welcome.
But, we have a serious security system that we are trying to get
to run on the Droid and it depends on being able to navigate around
building floor plans that have embedded links. Reader does not recognize
that the links are even there.
All you need to do is add the ability to use embedded links in a PDF
and we will have a super system.

  • Distributed form Acrobat Pro X not functioning correctly

Created a  survery form in live cycle, distributed and posted on web for users to fill out and submit.
About 30% of responded forms are not triggering the response file to collect the answers????
About 3 % are not able to send the file (I am suspecting they are mac users and do not use adobe reader to open file with)
About 0.1% have adobe reader, on a pc, have downloaded latest version, and can not even fill out the form.
Why  am I not getting the returned survey to trigger the opening of the  response file to collect the answers??? (when I resend from myself to  myself, it will trigger the response folder).  Weird...
On  a side note has anyone noticed how eratic the forums have behaved  lately?  When I am loged in, I get loged out... new message thread  created, disappears from site?  Can't login, get a message that the  forums are under maintenance?
Opinions?  Answers on the response file not collecting are appreciated.
This is the 4 time I have tried to post and keep getting putted out!

Regarding the Tracker question, in Acrobat X you can open any PDF file and click Comment pane (shown in Acrobat on right hand side) and go to Review accordion. You will find a 'Track Reviews' option. In Acrobat 10.1, an option has been added to launch Tracker from View menu without the need to open any PDF. You can update to Acrobat10.1 from Adobe web site.
For your form disribution problem, you need to allow full access to AdobeResourceSynchronizer to be able to fetch responses automatically. Can you please try this:
    1. Kill AdobeResourceSynchronizer from activity monitor and close Acrobat as well
    2. From Keychain access, delete 'services.acrobat.com'
    3. Launch Acrobat->Tracker and select your distributed form
    4. Click on View Responses on RHS pane in tracker
    5. If prompted for acrobat.com credentials, enter them and sign in
    6. If prompted for allowing AdobeResourceSynchronizer to store information in keychain, choose 'Always Allow'
Does it work now? Are you able to see all responses?

  • Error (150:30) for Acrobat Pro 9.3 and PS 3 & 4 CS

I just had a very nice call with a support person at the 800 number, but I thought that I would still post my problem in the hopes that it might still help move towards a solution.
I lost use of Acrobat Pro 9.5.1 back in early June when I updated my MAC OS to Lion (OS X 10.7.4). After I upgraded to Lion, Acrobat Pro 9.5.1 stopped working and started giving me a notice saying, "Suite Product Activation Needed".
I unistalled the program and then reinstalled Acrobat Pro 9.3.0 from the orginal Adobe CS 5 Design Standard disk. At that point I found that the reinstall still did not work and had created an additional set of problems. I stopped working on this because I was leaving my main office for the summer and figured that I would survive short term with Adobe Reader. I also figured a patch would present itself given enough time.
Now that I am back, I've found the time to revisit this. I am wondering if I somehow missed an opportunity to fix this because Lion upgraded to Mountain Lion and I upgraded the Mac OS before finding a fix for Acrobat.
I spent most of yesterday working on this and this is what I found:
    1) I cannot not upgrade Acrobat Pro at all. It is stuck on version 9.3.0. This is important because I saw 9.5.2 was released and, if it has a patch, I cannot use it because I can't get back to 9.5.1.
    2) I have been all over the boards looking for a solution. I did find the Support Document #51260 (which phone support directed me to as well). This document, "Error 'Licensing has stopped working'|MAC OS", outlines fixes up through Lion, but has not been updated to Mountion Lion.
    3) From document #51260, I went ahead and downloaded LicenseRecoveryLauncher to have it. The problem, however, is this is a PowerPC app and Mounton Lion no longer supports PowerPC apps.
    4) Because of document #51260, I tried opening my older Photoshop programs from CS 4 and CS 3. I get the same (150:30) notice with Photoshop CS4 ver 11.0.2 and just a notice saying that Licensing has topped working with Photoshop CS3 version 10.0.1.
    5) Since I'm writing this, I find that I am getting the same Licensing notice for Illustartor CS 3 & 4 and In Design CS 3 & $.
    6) The one program that I can use is Photoshop CS 5 Version 12.0.4
As I said earlier, I am wondering if I didn't miss a window of some sort to fix this by not seeing the fix for Lion as described in Document #51260. I am also wondering if the problems are related to the fact the Mac no longer supports PowerPC apps.
Regardless, the problem of not being able to run Acrobat Pro 9 still exists for me and the current fix document does not solve the issue for Mountain Lion. Is there an updated fix that does?
    I am running:
    Mac Pro (Early 2008)
    Processor  2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    Memory  2 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB
    Software  Mac OS X 10.8.1 (12B19))
PS - I tried downloading Acrobat 9.5.1 and when I click on the installer I get a warning message saying "AcroProUpd951_all" is an application froman unkown source and am I sure that I want to open it. I did open it, but it does not run a program. It takes me to Mac HD/users/My User Name/Documents/Acrobat User Data and then there is nothing to select. I can't even slect the Acrobat Pro Icon in the apps folder. My web browser is Firefow 15.0

  • I need the proper settings for Acrobate Reader 9.3 to be backward compatable to open PDF 6.0.

I have a full license for Adobe Acrobat Professional 9. I just got off the phone with Acrobat technical support about once you install Acrobat Reader 9 to read documents online using Internet Explorer and Firefox. That it would make documents that were scanned in with CapturePerfect3.0 and a Cannon document scanner using Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0 saved in PDF format and stored as images with records stored with Access Database front-end and SQL Server backend. Simple 6.0 PDF documents stored scanned documents in a database. O.K.! The problem is once you upgrade to read newer version of Acrobat PDF documents that our staff must read online, it makes reading saved database 6.0 PDF documents unreadable. Technical support informs me that it is a settings fix in Acrobat Reader 9 but because the Acrobat Reader 9 is a free download that can't tell me how to fix the settings.
So here I am trying to find out the proper settings in Acrobat Reader 9 to read new Acrobat documents online and old 6.0 Acrobat PDF documents on Windows XP Pro workstations and one Windows 7 workstation of the CEO's assistant. So please help me with the proper setting for Acrobat Reader 9 to work online reading newer PDF documents and still read Acrobat 6.0 documents stored in a database.

Adobe Reader 9 can open old and new pdf files.

  • Why can't I download trial for Acrobat Pro on my Mac?

Why can't I download trial for Acrobat Pro on my Mac?  I get an error message.  I click the download:  "Install Adobe Download Assistant", then click on it, see Adobe AIR application instaler, then get "Sorry, and error has occurred.  This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance."   If I knew who the application author was, I'd contact him!  Thanks, Pete

    Hey PetaPete,
There are some known issues when downloading Adobe Download Assistant which you can find at:
    Troubleshoot Adobe Download Assistant
So, you might alternatively need to try downloading Acrobat from the link given below:
    http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-acrobat-xi-pro-standard-reader-direct-download-links.html
    Note:
    1) You need to stay on the Adobe trial page for the respective product that you're downloading. You should be signed in.
    2) Copy/ Paste trial link for the files that you're downloading from Prodesigntools on to the address bar of Adobe trial page and hit enter.

  • How do I Install a PDF Printer Manually for Acrobat 6.0 Pro

My PDF Printer disappeared from my printer list. How can I manually re-install it? I tried following the directions given to another user for Acrobat 10.0 in this forum but was not successful with my 6.0 version. Can anyone help please? I really need my PDF Printer.

A repair can be done from the Help>Repair menu (at least I think that AA6 can do that). Sometimes the repair can be done from the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel, but you may need the CD in this case. You might also try just updating AA6 (now at 6.0.6) either from the help menu or by downloading the updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=10&platform=Windows (similar for MAC). For the downloads, be sure to install them in order and probably disable antivirus during the updates. You generally do not have to reboot until you have completed all of the updates.

  • Need a driver for Acrobat Distiller 5.0.0.0 that will work on Win 7 Pro SP1 64-bit.  How can I find it?

Need a driver for Acrobat Distiller 5.0.0.0 that will work on Win 7 Pro SP1 64-bit.  Where can I find it, and what file is it?  (Yes, it's an old Distiller that came with Acrobat 5.  So shoot me.  But I do need the driver.)
Win 7 prompted me for an *.inf file.  Any idea?
If I find the original Acrobat 5 CD, which .inf would it be?
(Hey, since I'm asking, also a driver that will work on Win 8.1 Pro 64-bit.)
    Thanks.

There is no .inf file on the Acrobat 5 CD that you can use to create a “driver.” If Distiller 5 even installs and runs on Windows 7 x64, the plumbing that came with Acrobat 5 to automatically feed PostScript files created by the PostScript driver to Distiller simply won't work with modern versions of Windows or any 64-bit version of Windows.
FWIW, Acrobat 5 is five full versions back from the current version. And no, we won't shoot you; you are effectively doing that to yourself!  Your time must be worth something?!?!

  • How do you set the default magnification for Acrobat.  All documents that I open enlarge to 174% and are too big.

How do you set the default magnification for Acrobat.  All documents that I open enlarge to 174% and are too big.  I see how to change the size after the document is open by going to File/properties/initial view and saving this setting.  I want all documents to open at 100% when they are first opened.  Can I set this as a default view?

    Hey Kris,
You might go to Edit> Preferences> Zoom
Do this without opening any particular PDF so that it applies to the program itself and not just one document.
Try this and then let me know.

  • Acrobat 10 and plug-ins for Acrobat 9 incompatibility?

    Hi,
Today I've installed trial version of Acrobat 10 to check if my plug-in for Acrobat 9 could run for it as well. But after Acrobat 10 launch I've got a window:
Acrobat.exe - Unable to Locate Component
This application has failed to start because MSVCP80.dll was not found.
Quick check over plug-ins shipped now inside Acrobat 10 showed me that they are using now MSVCP90.DLLL library instread of MSVCP80.dll used for Acrobat 9.
Does it mean that we need to recompile our source code with higher version of MS Visual Studio? If so - what version should we use?
Does it also mean that our plug-ins prepared for Acrobat 9 are incompatible with Acrobat 10 or there is some way they could still run without recompilation?
Any comments on this would be highly appreciated.

I always prefer to use shared libraries, i.e. DLLs, in their supposed shared way and not statically embedded into my executable if I know that some environment is pretty stable and customer is aware of various possible DLLs dependencies. If Acrobat could do some job for me - then I'm happy with that without allocation of additional memory/resources needed in case of static linking.
So, you don't answer my question. What C++ compiler's version should be used to put MSVCP90.DLL reference now instead of previously used MSVCP80.DLL?

  • New 3D Update for Acrobat 9 Pro Extended

The following URL will take you to the download page for a new 3D Update for Acrobat 9 Pro Extended:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4073
This free downloadable executable contains several updated dynamic link libraries (DLLs) that provide support for more recent versions of CAD file formats when using Adobe® Acrobat® 9 Pro Extended and Adobe 3D Reviewer. It also fixes a number of bugs related to CAD format import in Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and 3D Reviewer.
New supported CAD format versions for this update:
    CAD format: Autodesk Inventor
Supported version: Up to 12.x and 2009
    CAD format: Dassault CATIA V5
    Supported version: Up to R19
    CAD format: CoCreate OneSpace Designer
    Supported version: V3 to v2008
    CAD format:Siemens NX
    Supported version: Up to NX6
    CAD format: Siemens Parasolid
    Supported version: Up to 19

    No.
Adobe stopped all support for 3D file conversion with the introduction of the Acrobat X Family back in 2010. There have been and will be no further updates to the 3D import functionality. The translation engine that used to be in Pro Extended is now sold as a commercial product by Tetra4D, but it's not compatible with Acrobat 9.
