Re: Documentation Display in Container.

Dear Experts,
I have requirement which is, My program was displayed the List of Class names in the output based on some selection conditions.
After from the displayed list when I double click on any Class name in the next screen I want to display Attributes and Documentation in split screen. (Half screen with Attributes of that class and half screen with Documentation of class).
For this I used Split screen concept and created two containers , In one container I am displaying Attributes.
Now I want to display Documentation in another container of same screen ( Like documentation display when we press documentation button in SE24).
Can anybody give me the suggestions to solve this problem.

EventListener function specific to generated display object container

This has to be simple, if only I knew how. I'm an AS3 newbie,
and am having difficulty setting up multiple specific
EventListeners within a code generated display object container.
I am generating a 'page' (Sprite) with a heap of 'cards'
(Sprites) on it. Each of those cards, in turn, contains a selection
of text boxes and other objects generated from database output
using a 'for' loop.
My hope is to attach an EventListener to each 'card' so that
a MouseEvent will let me manipulate the data that lead to the
content of that actual card (the i-th iteration of my for loop).
I've been playing with everything I can think of (limited
repertoire of thoughts though) and the best I've managed is for my
EventListener to access the final set of data, whichever 'card' I
click on.
I've summarised and attached my code for the function, and
would appreciate any advice (however basic) on how to get back to
the i-set of data from the EventListener attached to the i-th card.
I can handle the PHP and MySQL side of things but am fumbling my
way into the OOP of AS3.

Another way would be to extend Sprite and add an id value.
Something like:

And then in your code you'd just make instance of MySprite,
passing it i:

So you're saying that whatever you use to output the <pre> tag, it's escaping it into <pre> because it thinks it's supposed to be text and not markup? Then use that thing differently. It's hard to say more without seeing the code you're using.

AlV display in container

hi abaprs,
i have displayed my alv in container using cl_gui_alv_grid->set_table_for_first_display, now i have 'edit' button on my screen, i want to make certaion fields of a raw selected by user to editable mode when user
push that button, i have got few refrences but i cant get the solution, i m looking for some subroutine where i can catch the index of the row selected and switch it to editable mode.
sample code will be a bonus, and useful answer will be rewarded.

How to display data containing CDATA tags in JSP/HTML?

Hi,
I'm getting some data from a webservice and displaying it in JSP. But some data from the service (like description of an item) contains CDATA tags.
For ex: This is the data from the webservice.
<BenefitsIssues><![CDATA[This strategy buys after a very rapid or extreme sell off with the hope that the gap will eventually be filled. Typically, traders following these types of strategies expect some very large losses as downtrends continue. Traders should take only very small positions when trading this strategy and never dedicate more than a small amount of risk capital in aggregate to this strategy.]]></BenefitsIssues>
where <BenefitsIssues> is the XML tag. My code displays everything within this tag in JSP.
Code is JSP looks like this.

Eventually the HTML output of this JSP looks like..

Problem is that the page fails to display the first line, "This strategy buys after a very rapid...." and starts displaying only from "Typically, traders following these....", i.e after the occurrence of first tag. Page also displays "]]" at the end.
How I can get rid of this problem? One way is to remove "![CDATA[" and "]]" from the data received from webservice. I would like to know if any other better solutions is there. Is there any predefined function to remove "![CDATA[" ?

Module - adding to display list, container null?

So I'm working on a module inside one of our applications and when the module is loaded it is passed a VO. I have found that I need to fire all of my other logic for the nested classes inside this module on the Set method of this VO because if I wait for the creationComplete, the nested logic in the other classes never gets executed. The only problem is, when I fire off all of my logic on the Set, it all gets executed but when it goes to draw these components and add them to the display list, the container they're being added to is still null, I assume because it hasn't been created yet. I also tried to add my components in the MXML and just bind their data value to the VO, but even when I do that, the inner logic never gets executed, I assume for the same reason.
Has anyone else had this issue before or have any ideas on a way to solve this issue? It almost feels like waiting for CreationComplete is too late, yet the Set method is too early.

Not sure I understand. You can hook other lifecycle methods in the module
like commitProperties. That's where we recommend custom components resolve
new properties.

How to Display the Contain records in OBIEE Report

as per above requirement it should be despaly UAE,AE if it contains.
Expected out put is

i.e 1001 contains only IN, USA...but it's not contains any of the record in UAE or AE.
If it contains UAE or AE any one of the data it should display all the other countries.

If i apply a filter
Country ='UAE' or 'AE'. it will display only those two records right....for me if it contains any of the record...then it should display all.
Like Union, Union All, Intersect, minus....operators.

Dropdown list dynamic domain Display Settings contains no values

Hi,
I want to create a dynamic domain on a viewobject (RefCodesByDomain), which is not based on an entity object.
When I test my bc4j-service everything works as expected.
The view object has a key attribute.
In the Application Definition Editor I am able to create a dynamic domain with the data-collection of RefCodesByDomain1 but I cannot select any attributes in the "Display Settings"-section.
Can you give me some advise on this matter?

I rebuild the project. I think it has something to do with importing business components.
What I did is the folowing:
1. In a existing project I extended the default base-classes to create our own layer
2. created a project called ModelShared
2a. configured the project to use the base-classes I created in step 1
2b. created an entitybased-viewobject (RefCodesByDomain)
2c. created bc deployment-descriptors
3. created a project called RelatieModel in the same workspace as ModelShared
3a. added dependencies to the deployment-descriptors as well as the project created in step 2
3b. configured the project to use the base-classes I created in step 1
3c. imported business components
Although I did not recieve any errors during the import of business components, I am unable to add the vo (RefCodesByDomain) to a service.
I do see the package which contains the vo but is has no entries.
Importing the business components to a new BC Project in a seperate workspace did succeed (I could reuse the vo).
I tested a little further and the folowing occurred:
4. I created a new vo in the ModelShared Project
5. I deployed the ModelShared
6. Restarted JDeveloper
7. Got the folowing error message in the console window when expanding a service in my datacontrol pallette:

I have to write a servlet , to accomplish tis task.

Control mouseover image does not display when contained in an array of clusters.

I have been using system booleans (with some customization) for the ability to impement mouseover animations. For example (default system booleans):
The mouseover feedback works well with my UI, and for the most part everything is going great.
However, the mouseover image does not load if the the boolean is contained within an array of clusters (a single cluster with the boolean inside or an array of booleans works as expected):
The mouseover animation does work for a single array element in the above case (the one which was most recently clicked), but this behavior isn't desirable and it seems buggy if I were to leave this on my UI as it is.
So I guess I'm just wondering if anybody has encountered this or has any suggested workarounds? The few that I've thought of so far (maintain a separate array for any set of system boolean controls, check coordinates myself on mouse move event and try to update the proper element in the array, avoid using mouseover animations entirely for this set of controls) aren't all that desirable. Even though this issue could be considered cosmetic, the UI is very important to me as this code is something shipped to customers.
This is LV 2011 by the way, so if by some chance the behavior in 2012 is correct please let me know (this alone might be reason enough to convert the project up). If there is a CAR ID for this behavior and an NI employee wishes to share it I would also appreciate that.

Hey Jason,
A reproducing VI would be any VI that contains an array of clusters with a system control boolean inside. Here's an example:
Single Boolean, Single Cluster, and Array of Booleans all show the proper mouseover image.
Array of Clusters always shows the mouseover effect on the last element which was clicked, but does not show the mouseover effect on other array elements (actually, it seems to be inconsistent--every now and then it does show the mouseover effect on other array elements but it is not at all reliable).

Af:inputText problem : how to display text containing blank spaces

Hi,
I have a inputText in af:table with clickToEdit mode, when I commit a value from input text
for e.g
"This is______________ a ________text with_________lot________of_______blank spaces"
(_ undescore represents spaces)
it get saved perfectly fine to db, but when I am in display mode , it removes all spaces leaving one space
"This is a text with lot of blank spaces"
seems like problem is with while displaying, component is not rendering more than one blank spaces

I am using inputText in af:table with editingMode="clickToEdit"
so, when its in edit mode, it deplays the correct value as its saved in db
as soon as you come back to view mode , it eliminates extra spaces replaces with one space

Printed Documentation displays each topic twice

Click Printed Documentation.
Click Next to access the TOC setup
On the right panel, each topic is listed twice. In the final document, RH is adding a heading to a topic and then duplicating the same topic without the RH heading.
If there is a way to prevent RH from inserting these headings, I think this duplication would be resolved.

That's what I was getting at earlier in the conversation but I don't think that is the cause here.
It use to be that if a topic was linked to a book and then the author added the topic because it could not be seen in the print layout, the topic would be in the printed document twice. In the print layout you had to remove the topic and rely on it coming from the book, which it did. In the print layout you would not see the topic whereas you are seeing it twice.
In Rh10 there is a change (may have been in 9). In the print layout if there is a book with a linked topic, that now shows in the print layout. Rh has put the linked topic in the layout so that you can now see it. However, it is only there once.
I am wondering if maybe you had books with links and had put the topic below not realising, then on upgrade you would see your manually added topic plus the one Rh has moved from the book to the print layout? Can you look at an old document to see if the topic was there twice?
Beyond that I don't know what could have caused it but all seems well now.

Non documented display indicator on E51

I noticed there is a display indicator on my E51 that doesn't appear on the user guide (Issue 2). It's similar to an two X on crossover. You can see it here:

Yes, that is indeed the balackberry connect indicator, showing that you are not connected to the server.
if you do not use blackberry, then you can remove the application and the icon will not show up again.

Correction! Thanks to Doug Welsby of Microsoft and some our other MS friends who worked behind the scenes to correct/ assist me on this, I got the right answer after all... the difference between, example a French oData command/ statement,
and an English one is the inclusion of the square brackets with the language abbreviation/ code e.g., "[Fr..]" in the oData connection string/ statement. For further reference, see the connection files provided by Microsoft in the Reports and
compare the syntax for the same report/ different language. There is where you will see what and how Excel is able to differentiate/ control what language that the report result will return.
